Introducing the Furellum Chaps!
Furellum have been psyched up by their U-21 World Cup win, finally proving they have what it takes to win youth tournaments. Not put off by this performance, the U-15 squad returned things to normal by bowing out of yet another WC finals, their fourth from five attempts. With a new coach, Furellum will hope for a good run here in World Cup 69, with players from the Di Bradini Cup squad now swelling the ranks. In honour of the tournament theme they've had yet another name change, in the eternal quest to find something that everyone can agree on...

The Background
To the unaware, Furellum is nothing more then a small island at the mouth of the Taaru sea in Atlantian Oceania. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, as it were. The vast majority of the country is situated in another dimension, accessible only through the magical bridge which connects the White Tower in Altsby and its otherworld counterpart, the Moonlight Tower, in Other Altsby. Furellum is a land of magic, soaked in ether which the wizards of the country bend to their will. The country is home to many different races, species of animals made sentient and human-like by some powerful magic long since forgotten. They have been here for time immemorial, but only since the medieval period have humans lived in Furellum, when it became a Grand Duchy of the Kingdom of Maalvia. Much of Furellum is still stuck in the middle ages, with modern technology only beginning to creep into the nation.

The Team
Motto - "Victoria et hoc genus omne"
#1 Mihails Gavrilovic (Gelada Baboon) Goalkeeper
Bio: Impressing in two U-15 World Cups, Mihails was selected for the Di Bradini squad, where he played an important part in winning the title. He's been in the FFA's sights for a long time, and finally makes the move to the senior team. Naturally gifted, Mihails has an almost unstoppable energy that has him bouncing around the goal and stopping shots from any angle. His long reach and jumping distance make him tough to score against, even on a rebound.

#5. Sorin Vladimirescu (Human) Left Back
Sorin is a minor member of the Maalvian Royal family, who rule over Furellum. As such he is often placed on a pedestal by the lower-class members of the team, even though their is nothing aristocratic about his nature. This image of royalty has been enhanced by his recent move to club giants SK Franz Josef City in Polar Islandstates.

#3. Ragnar Asbjorn (Polar Bear) Left Centre Back
Asbjorn is big and tough, but he is also remarkably quick. One of the Di Bradini squad players, Ragnar still acts like he has something to prove. This sometimes causes him to go in too hard and foul opposing strikers. Due to his bulk, once they're hit, they stay down, often causing Asbjorn to be yellow-carded where others might be let off with a warning.

#2. Bronislav Mlaker (Badger) Centre Back
Cute and Cuddly, Mlaker has also been voted the player most likely to rip your head off and spit down your neck. A player with a mean streak, Mlaker is a fierce competitor for the ball. He may give away a lot of fouls, but referees should be prepared for the consequences should they get on his bad side...

# 15. Marian Constantin (Elk) Right Centre Back
The polar opposite of Mlaker, Constantin is cool, calm and collected. Since Krupin's shock departure from the national team, he's been dropped into the starting line-up. Constantin excels at precision tackling and passing under pressure, and could well be a game changer when the stakes are down.

#4. Fyodor Iosef (Horse) Right Back (Captain)
Solid, dependable and strong. Iosef ticks all the boxes for a defender. His gentle disposotion and calming influence on his team, especially Mlaker, has also led to him being given the captain's armband, a burden he does not bear lightly. Fyodor was also named as part of Baptism of Fire 53's "Team of the Tournament".

#7. Symon Maksimov (Grey Wolf) Left Midfielder
Maksimov is one of the most technically skilled players on the team, and is well renowned for his ball control skills. Known as a friendly player, Maksimov plays clean, using his skills to avoid contact with opposing players.

#8. Adam Vukoja (Human) Midfielder
Vukoja plays for Guldisall, the university where he is currently studying the secrets of magic. Adam has dreams of one day being a wizard, but he is already a wizard with a football. Vukoja has been at the centre of Furellum junior football for years, and his entrance into the senior squad is no surprise.

#9. Germogen Sokoloff (Cheetah) Right Midfielder
The quickest player on the team by a long shot, Sokoloff is the key to the Turtle's attack. He has the speed to beat the opposing defence and the skills to find a penetrating pass to the forwards. If he has a weakness it is in his stamina, and he will rarely last a full ninety minutes without being replaced.

#10. Moisey Vaduva (Markhor Goat) Left Striker
He may look like an old veteran with his almost floor length braided beard, but don't be fooled. Moisey is a youngster at just twenty-one, and as such plays a mostly supporting role in providing the more experienced and skilled Szczelaszczyk with scoring opportunities.

#11. Eleazar Szczelaszczyk (Leopard) Right Striker
The star of the national team, Eleazar is from a well known sporting family. His son Ezra is an up and coming striker, having competed in the U-15 and U-21 World Cup squads, and his father was a pro-golfer on the Furellum circuit. Fast and flashy, Szczelaszczyk will be a big contender in the box, much to the despair of foreign commentators who are likely to have to repeat his last name.

The Reserves
#12. Volodya Dumitrescu (Hare) Goalkeeper
An unlikely choice for a goalkeeper due to his diminutive size, Volodya makes up for it with an impressive leap, good reactions, and a strong grip. He's fairly useless against short balls and penalties though, which is why he is not the main keeper for the team.

#23. Gregor Petrovich (Polar Bear) Goalkeeper
A dominating presence between the goal, Gregor relies on his massive bulk rather than agility to keep shots out. Seen as a solid choice for the team, he was previously the team's starting goalkeeper. Petrovich is especially good at rushes, and likes to use them, perhaps too often.

#14. Vidarr Stefanovich(Hippo) Defender
Taking the number of Vyacheslav Lagunov, arguably the World Cup's clumsiest player ever, Vidarr has some worrying similarities to his predecessor. A hippo like Lagunov, Vidarr is built like the proverbial house. Being tackled by Vidarr really is like being hit by a ton of bricks, or at least a ton of over-eager Furellum defender. Vidarr always wants the ball, and takes to the sport with an excitement and energy that cannot be contained.

#6. Lievin Zaboulon (Otter) Defender
Zaboulon, like many otters in Furellum, comes from a fishing village along the Rode river. As the middle child of eight in a working-class family, he's lived a hard life, but that only motivates him more on the pitch. Football is Lievin's life, and he is a hardworking defender with a good ability to harass opposing players and steal the ball from under their noses.

# 16. Domen Loke (Leopard) Midfielder
Another player from the DBC champion squad, Loke has come a long way in the past few years. While quick and with enough smarts to get around defenders, Loke is also introverted and selfish. He'd rather try to beat five defenders himself then pass to a teammate. However, he has been working on that, and will see plenty of game time this cup.

# 17. Luka Zelenko (Leopard) Midfielder
The player usually called on whenever Sokoloff runs out of steam, Zelenko is a decent attacking midfielder. Suspected of being a feline hybrid and not a pure-blood leopard, Zelenko has the ability to jump nearly two metres in the air, a useful ability whenever Furellum have a corner.

# 18. Havryil Petrov (Maned wolf) Forward
A man with a chip on his shoulder, Petrov is aggressive, confrontational, and emotional. While he may seem at conflict with himself, when he's in control he is a good forward with a powerful left footpaw that is sure to keep opposing keepers on their toes.

# 19. Boleslav Balan (Black Boar) Forward
Not a team player, Boleslav's usual attacking method is to get the ball and charge towards goal, regardless of any defenders that might get in his way. While this may work sometimes, more often than not he will be dispossessed or called for a foul, so he is usually kept on the bench. He's like a nuclear weapon: Lethal, but extremely dangerous to those who use it and only utilised as a last resort.

Coach: Claudiu Frey (Ferret)

The Stadium
There was some panic when it was discovered that Furellum needed a stadium to host games. Very few fields in the nation match WCC standards of size, pitch quality or even gradient (Ingridberg Minutemen's home field has one sideline 2 metres lower than the other). After much discussion, the FFA decided the best field in the country was in the Duke's grounds in Altsby, and work was done to hastily erect seating and paint some lines on the grass. The newly named National Football Stadium is located in the grounds of the Duke's Palace in Altsby. For centuries generations of children have been sneaking onto this land to play football. This is technically illegal, as the ground is private property set aside for the Duke's personal use, but no one in the country is going to tell him. The new seats can hold about 1000 people, and the locals have taken to bringing their own couches and chairs from home to watch the game.

The Strategy
Formation: 5-3-2
Style: -4.5

Kernansquillec squad information

Postby Kernansquillec » Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:37 am

Kernansquillec's Squad for World Cup 69 Qualifying

General Information
Kernansquillec has a rich history on the global footballing stage. After rejoining the international scene at the 68th World Cup with a squad made up from players who had just emerged from within Kernansquillec's new First Division, founded in 2056, just 25 years after the end of the Great War that had brought an end to Kernansquillecan football in 2020.

Kernansquillec was back and back with a bang. Finishing third in their qualifying group with a team made up of inexperienced players saw them get a well deserved playoff tie. However the dream was not to be.

Performances at Copa Rushmori 18 and the Di Bradini Cup 31 have shown that this Kernansquillecan side was no fluke. They have what it takes to become a very good team. However, with a number of young players in the squad, their time may not be now. We must remember that the First Division is still just 3 years old. But be it in the league, in UICA's international club tournaments or on the World stage, these players keep on impressing and with a whole nation of green and white behind them this year, it could just be World Cup 57 all over again.

As a team, Kernansquillec like to play forward going football with a style modifier of +3.0 in a 4-2-3-1 formation. All players in the squad play their football in the KERFA league system. All home games will be played at the National Stadium, located in the capital Kernansquillec City. It holds a capacity of 110 000 of which 10 000 will be reserved for away fans. Four uncapped players link up with the 18 player squad. The 14 other players all featured at the previous World Cup Qualifying campaign.

Kernansquillec are known to fans as the Green and Whites, the Kers or the Green Stallions. A big number of fans follow the team around and football is really more of a religion in Kernansquillec than a pastime. If Kernansquillec are playing at least one of the stands will be green.

Kernansquillec are ranked 106th in the KPB rankings.

Squad Information

Kate ELLYSA GK, n.1, 24 years old ( Image Rennes), ♀, 0 goals
Kate is an young goalkeeper with huge potential. Adopted by a family near Rennes at the age of 4 with her parents presumed dead, life has been hard for Ellysa, but football has given her the chance to shine. A truly dedicated professional.

Mary CRESSAC RB, n.2, 21 years old ( Image Mont Kate), ♀, 1 goal, 3 U21 goals
One of only two players in the squad who have ties with former international players. Mary is one of three daughters who's father is Xavier Cressac, a former star midfielder of the Green & Whites, playing in the side that made it to the group states of WC57. A young and promising right back. At the 31st Di Bradini Cup she was one of the players who stood out as the side finish 3rd in the tournament.

Julian YEGOS LB, n.3, 28 years old ( Image Guingamp), ♂, 0 goals
Julian is one of the experienced faces of the side. Having fought in the War of Independence, football hasn't always been a priority. For many years a mere kick about with fellow soldiers was the best he got. But with the return of peace, he was spotted playing for an Army XI in Kernansquillec City and now plays for Guingamp, the three time First Division champions.

Jean DUBOIS CB, n.4, 26 years old ( Image Rennes du Nord), ♂, 3 goals
Jean and his family had moved to Polar Islandstates before the war started. Football had always been his thing, but despite trials with some top division sides as a youngster he was never offered a contract and spend most of his youth playing in amateur divisions. Aged 21 he decided to return to Kernansquillec to help out with the Red Cross in the aftermath of the war. He was soon spotted by Rennes du Nord and played a crucial role in their promotion to the First Division, playing in a defense that only conceded 15 goals all season. He has scored in his last two tournaments, WCQ 68 and Copa Rushmori 18.

Stuart KELLAH CB, n.5, 24 years old ( Image Guingamp), ♂, 1 goal
Stuart will line-up alongside club teammate Yegos. A solid center back who's strong performances at center back helped Guingamp win the First Division and make it all the way to the Globe Cup Round of 16. He is also a threat for set pieces.

Julia FENGOULI DM, n.6, 23 years old ( Image Kernansquillec City), ♀, 3 goals
Julia is the Kernansquillec City captain. Despite her side falling short in the race for the title, she is a rock in front of the back four. Anticipation is a key part of her game that sees her intercept and distribute a great number of balls, breaking up dangerous attacks before they have time to develop. She will have to be on top form if Kernansquillec are to do well in qualifying. She scored twice during qualifying last time round.

Isabelle ZORM DM, n.15, 22 years old ( Image St Marie), ♀, 2 goals, 4 U21 goals
The St Marie number six has been on a great adventure so far. After sneaking into the squad for the previous qualifying round, she's established herself as a capable defending midfielder, playing her part in the Under 21s Di Bradini Cup success, scoring four goals to add to the two she scored in WCQ 68. She's managed to replace former captain Quaby in the starting XI and she's going to be one to watch out for this year.

Marie IRIS LM, n.7, 19 years old ( Image St Markus Youth Academy), ♀, 7 goals, 3 U21 goals
Marie is a player with a huge talent. After holding on at the St Markus Youth Academy for two seasons more than people expected she will now have to move on due to her age. However no move has yet been sealed with a number of clubs after her, including some foreign clubs according to some newspapers. Right now, all she'll be thinking about is qualifying for the World Cup; she's scored seven goals for the national team to date and she bagged another 3 at Di Bradini Cup 31. Watch out for her!

Zac POUTRE RM, n.9, 21 years old ( Image Louargat), ♂, 4 goals
The 21 year old plays his football for relegated Louargat. Doubts are now being raised about wherever or not he will stay with the Montagnards, but he's in the side for a second World Cup. He too was part of the Di Bradini Cup team that finished 3rd. Going forward he can do some damage, even if he may start to look over his shoulder at Kéziah Carrac who may fancy her chances of taking his place in the starting XI.

Adélaïde NOUPEN CAM, n.10, 22 years old, captain ( Image Guingamp), ♀, 11 goals, 5 U21 goals
Adélaïde is a key player for the national side. Her quality has been on show for all to see be it in the First Division, in the Champions' Cup or at the Di Bradini Cup. Her partnership with Lilac up front has torn many a defense apart and it will do so again. The NOULI partnership is one to be feared. She's also been named captain of the national team for the first time after Quaby was dropped to the bench.

Peter LILAC ST, n.11, 20 years old ( Image Guingamp), ♂, 18 goals, 8 U21 goals
Peter is the second player in the squad who has a relation from a former World Cup squad. His father is of course the great Adam Lilac. It was reported that he had been killed in the bombing of Kernansquillec City at the start of the war, but it later turned out that the young Lilac had been pulled from the rubble by rescue workers. The young man led one of many post-war memorial processions, laying flowers at a memorial for the victims of the Kernansquillec City bombing which claimed the life of 95,000 civilians over 3 months, including his parents and older sister. But despite his traumatic past, Lilac is every bit as good as his father. His lightning fast speed and powerful free-kicks make him a major danger to all goalkeepers. His 14 goals at WCQ 68 speak for themselves.

Hector FERLY Substitute GK, n.13, 19 years old ( Image St Marie Youth Academy), ♂, 0 goals
The 18 year goalkeeper is the other player from the U19 St Markus Division to make the cut. He's a promising young player who has shown what he is capable of at the latest Di Bradini Cup. However it seems unlikely that he will feature unless Ellysa picks up an injury.

Kim STOKE Substitute CB, n.12, 26 years old ( Image Rennes), ♂, 0 goals
Stoke has shown himself to be a solid center-back for Rennes, even if he has yet again been left out of the starting XI. He will be looking to impress in training so as to get that starting spot, or at least some appearances off the bench. He made his début during the last qualifying round, coming off the bench against Arab Country.

Candi WINTER Substitute LB, n.14, 25 years old ( Image Guingamp), ♀, Senior team début
Candi is one of four new faces to join the international set up for this tournament. The 25 year old left back is also going to be used as cover for right back. She's been a good player for Guingamp in their domestic and international campaigns and her experience will be welcome for a squad that is still fairly new on the scene.

Silvio QUABY Substitute DM, n.8, 32 years old ( Image New Southampton), ♂, 3 goals
The oldest player in the side is somewhat of a father figure to many in the side. He's lost his place in the starting XI as well as the captain's armband for this tournament, but he's still expected to be one of the leaders when he features as well as on the training ground. He can find space in midfield and create chances, but the finest aspect of his games is his long range shots: it's quite common to see him rifle in one from time to time.

Londyn KÄUFER Substitute CM, n.17, 26 years old ( Image Rennes), ♀, Senior team début
Käufer is the second new face to be in the team. The 26 year old midfielder is very versatile and can play in most positions, even if her favorite is in the middle of the park. She's been impressing with Rennes who finished 2nd this season, making the Globe Cup for three years in a row. Her experience of winning two National Cups could all be important towards the end of qualifying.

Kéziah CARRAC Substitute LM, n.16, 17 years old ( Image Guingamp), ♀, Senior team début, 3 U21 goals
Faulty description -- error

Rita LEBEAU Substitute ST, n.18, 24 years old ( Image St Marie), ♀, Senior team début
Lebeau's inclusion is somewhat of a mystery to some. Despite her team finishing third this season they scored the joint least goals. Considering she is replacing a forward who was also failing to find the back of the net for the National team on a regular basis it does appear somewhat bizarre. But the pro-Lebeaus claim that it is the service provided to her that has failed her this season and it would seem that Sandheart agrees with them. Time will tell if that decision was wise, but it is a risk none-the-less.

The Coaches

Rachael SANDHEART, Manager Image
The first ever female coach of the national side, Rachael is a figure of authority in the international set-up. Hand picked by KERFA after impressing managing the semi-professional New Southampton before the new league system was set up, the 43 year old is famed for wanting a high pressing game with mobile attacking unit. Accurate and fast passing is key. Expect her to set up the team for free-flowing attacking football.

Amelia VAN DER PON, Assistant Manager Image
The faithful assistant of Sandheart was also at New Southampton before they turned professional. However this could be the 42 year old's final World Cup with Louargat after her services.

The Stadium

Image
National Stadium (110 000)
The National Stadium - the "Green Jewel" - is located in North-East Kernansquillec City.

The stadium is linked to the nearby town center and the city's international airport by a direct metro line known as the "Green Line". Shuttles arrives every couple of minutes on match days linking the city center to the stadium in about 6 minutes, with the stadium-airport link about 8 minutes long. City buses also link the stadium to the whole capital and a 25 000 capacity underground car park is a mere 300 meters away from the ground.

The all-seater stadium has a capacity of 110 000. A section of up to 10 000 seats can be reserved for away fans, however less are usually provided. All of the stadiums seats are either green or white.

The Stadium, which was built in 1995, has been refurbished only once in 2036 when damage done during the Great War was repaired and an additional 10 000 seats added. Internal facilities, such as changing rooms along with medical and security facilities were also refurbished with state-of-the-art equipment.

The Stadium hosts all of Kernansquillec's home internationals as well as the National Cup final and playoff finals. The Under 21s also play their home ties here. The KERFA are also looking to host a UICA final in the stadium with a bid having been submitted to the UICA to host the 55th Champions' Cup final in 2060.

Manager
Name: Steffan Pekarik
Age: 51
First Cycle: 69
Record: 0-0-0
Win Percentage: Mathematically undefined
Description: Pekarik, widely-recognized in Farfadillis as "our new Polarian manager whose name we have yet to remember", once played for the Terns as a left-back. 141 times. He managed 15 assists and 6 goals and even captained his country once. Certainly impressive. On club level, he played for East Franz Athletic, Urajbina of Kagdazka and Pazhujebu, and then FC Axel Heiburg, winning the Champions' Cup as captain before retiring and going into a coaching role with the club. Later followed manager Morten Rasmussen to the Terns to become assistant manager through all the Terns' final appearances. We sincerely hope we do not suffer a disappointment remotely as huge as the Terns did. He's a hard-nosed guy, so he will encourage strong tackles and shout a lot in the dressing room. And now comes the weird part, he prefers defensively strong formations. Yet he's now managing Farfadillis. Talk about a challenge. He does not like gung-ho attacking. Again, talk about a challenge. After a decade learning from Rasmussen, it was about time Steffan started to do things on his own, though. We just think this could be too big a challenge. Steffan is famously hard on his players if they're found to be guilty of complacency or lazy play, and he drills his players hard on the training pitch. Many Farf players are likely to cause him migraine as a result. He's not be afraid of ruffling feathers with popular/lazy/show pony players. He'll take no prisoners, suffer no fools, and allow no airs or graces. Everyone works hard, everyone gets the rewards. That's the philosophy he'll try to make prevail facing his particularly eccentric national team he's chosen.

Assistant Manager
Name: Casper Baek
Age: 44
First Cycle: 69
Description: Casper Baek has been one of the most celebrated one-club-players in recent Valhallan history. Turning out his entire career for FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls until he reached forty and finally retired, Baek has eased naturally into a caching role, and his vast playing experience will be a valuable resource for any team that employs him. He has a keen eye for man-management, so whenever Pekarik gets angry and shouts at people, it will be Baek who picks them up, dusts them down, and tells them they can do it. Nonetheless, he will be a loyal assistant to Pekarik.

Medic
Name: Radek Greve
Age: 42
First Cycle: 69
Description: Radek Greve now holds the title of first medic of the Farf national football team. When Pekarik arrived, he quickly noticed that the FFFF had never appointed a medic, and soon suggested him. Rossizzo, the manager who preceded him, somehow had failed to notice the lack of a medic. Nonetheless, Radek is a very serious professional who will make treat any injuries in the best way possible to ensure the swiftest of recoveries.

Scout
Name: Jon Veen
Age: 46
First Cycle: 69
Description: Veen is a short, quiet and somewhat shy man. His scouting skills are astonishing. He's got videos of just about any match that has been played, and always provides Pekarik with vital information of both Farf players and opposing players. He's also got a sharp eye for talent-spotting, and can somehow tell, roughly, how much a player will progress in the future. Jon Veen's name may be unknown to many Farves, but he's definitely a vital part of the team.

The nickname is a reference to the colours of the kits, though the nickname itself is in Farf, because "the Greenred" did not sound very cool.

Style Modifier
+4
Much to Pekarik's frustration, Farf players play more offensively than they should. As a result, even with a formation that's not even close to a +4, the style mod is a +4. Not like Pekarik will be aware of it until the first match.

Goalkeepers

Name: Erfaon Lisdiren Delanuitnoire
Age: 34
Team: Image Colonial Sile Image
Description: Lisdiren is the last resort of the team to prevent a goal (though that applies to every goalkeeper, of course). Despite being the last resort, the entire team often relies on him being in a good day, in which he almost always is. The thing is, Farfadillis' attacking style, in which some defenders attack more than they defend, pretty much means there will always be many shots on goal from the opposing team. This is when Lisdiren steps in and saves the day. He can and probably will stop just about any shot within what's possible for him (and that's a lot of shots), but he gives rebounds often. The most reliable technique to score against him is to either shoot powerfully and have a good poacher, have a clinical finisher, or just outnumber him in a counterattack, passing the ball to the side when he approaches you one-on-one. Match reports will often rate him as a six or more, even if Farfadillis concedes like four goals. He can, obviously, perform badly, but it's rare. As good as he may be, don't take him as better than, say, Iulian Kirilaunen or Kajaxo Imaslavii. He's not on that level. Age does not seem to have been affecting him much, but Röhj Tzâín is eagerly waiting to overtake him, and he just might. Also, Lisdiren is one of the two players to have played every game the national team has played.

Name: Rôhj Tzâín Üjkân
Age: 23
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Heralded as Lisdiren's heir, winning the Di Bradini Cup certainly increased the fuss. Without a doubt, he's a great goalkeeper. One with a very bright future, certainly. Having started for Mâ Âlâmëómë for two years now, it was obvious that Rossizzo would call him up so that he could gain valuable experience before replacing Lisdiren. Pekarik has called him up now, too. He's pretty lazy inside the pitch in that he hates to organize the defense, but Rossizzo seemed to be doing a fine job in instigating it to him. Pekarik is likely to be even better at it. Apart from that, he's an all-around wonderful goalkeeper. He's not really tall, just of average height, but his saves can be stunning. Sometimes, neutrals find his saves better than the goal that would've been. He's quick-tempered, but he's also from Ruland, and knows very well what he can and cannot do to not harm the team. His talent has been increasing at an unbelievable rate. This is likely Lisdiren's last World Cup.

Name: Sifé Rigutti Fazeré
Age: 27
Team: Image Ousteeble TU Image
Description: Sifé Rigutti is a pretty good goalkeeper who has been unlucky enough to live in era in between Lisdiren's and Tzâín. He's very secure with the ball, and often denies the opponent any rebounds. Sadly, unlike Lisdiren, his diving is nothing extraordinary and and, as a result, he cannot save Farfadillis nearly as much as Lisdiren does. He's a very good leader, and would no doubt do well if he started. It's just that Lisdiren and Tzâín are even better. Still, Rigutti's a very safe choice for... third goalkeeper.

Name: Ascensión Espiritual Ekvinter González
Age: 22
Team: Image Avenida Victoria Image
Description: Ekvinter was a part of the Di Bradini Cup-winning squad that Risko Kâí captained to glory. He was a substitute to Rôhj Tzâín, sure, but nobody can deny he's got the talent going for him. Already a starter for Avenida Victoria following the club's hero Benjamín Basurto's retirement, this man may just be second choice to Rôhj Tzâín throughout his international career, but he's as safe as second choices come.

Defenders

Name: Leo Mario Fakkotti Hojaverde
Age: 28
Team: Image Minault United Image
Description: Fakkotti is a tall defender who blends that with an above-average speed and a great understanding of the game tactically-speaking. He blends attacking and defending well, too. He's not the guy who caves in under pressure, which was evident when he captained the Di Bradini squad that would get to the final in that country of the black flag with the cross or something. He was unfortunate enough to get injured before the AOCAF Cup Farfadillis won started, but he was admittedly happy about his friend Frêndê, who retired in that exact tournament. Without a doubt a great way to retire for his teammate. Recently signed for Valladar team Minault United.

Name: Cleto Mata Tarariras
Age: 25
Team: Image Gwinevra Barbarians Image
Description: Mata's been around since the U-15's, having been the star of the U-15 World Cup 1 Farf squad. He's a defender with astonishing dribbling and an eye for a goal when it comes to venturing into the opponent's box. He's good defensively, more than good in many areas, though from a Farf perspective. He excels, however, at how he can bring his team out of the box whenever they park the bus without intending to (which rarely happens when playing for Farfadillis, to be fair). He can start a counterattack in a matter of seconds, and will often take needless risks by dribbling an opponent inside the box. However, up to this date, none of the teams he's defended has had to regret him doing this. Never has any other player played the very definition of Farf defender so well. Pekarik won't like his style, though.

Name: Santos José Alaminos Soldado
Age: 27
Team: Image Colonial Sile Image
Description: Yes, Cleto Mata may be the best Farf-style defender out there, but nobody doubts that Santos Alaminos is who prevents the defense from collapsing. He's a wonderful player when it comes to defending. He'd probably be a centre back if it weren't for his wonderful attacking skills. He can cover the holes Mata leaves and help the attack too. He can and will dribble his way out of the box, instead of clearing the ball like most other defenders would. He never, however, dribbles when it's not necessary. He's very disciplined and will only do what's best for the team. He's not tremendously fast, though he is fast. It's his incredible endurance that stands out. He can survive his own continuous runs up and down the pitch, somehow. He always gives his all and a bit more, and that's probably what places him above so many other players who'd like to play in his place. Going back to his attacking, he might be that extra player that finally breaks the opposing defense, as when it comes to offense he's just another talented midfielder who can do as he wishes with the ball. He seemed to blossom in World Cup 67, being one of the best players of the squad, with his most remarkable performance being against Valanora. The AOCAF Cup after that proved no different, having been key for the Farf success in it. His most notable performance was in the semifinal against Vilita, in which he scored twice. Unlike Mata, Alaminos is likely to be one of Pekarik's favourites.

Name: Ivaktör Mâr Bârr Rîk-Ândré
Age: 23
Team: Image Northbrook Diamonds Image
Description: A product of Dí Maozöxê's youth academy, Bârr has gotten here thanks to a few good performances in the Di Bradini Cup Farfadillis won and, specifically, because he performed incredibly in that Di Bradini Cup's final. He's a quick-tempered defender, but he can strike fear in all but the most brave strikers, even at his age. He's tall, fast, and very strong. His technique is decent, but he's less skilled than most Farf defenders. He's a titan in the air, however. He's got the ability to read the game really well when fully focused. It has been proved that whenever Bârr is provoked, one of two things happen: either he gets sent off or he plays flawlessly. Rossizzo was trying to make him channel his anger in the second way, obviously. Pekarik is likely to do the same. We do know Pekarik won't help his temper at all, though. Bârr has been recently signed by the renowned Polarian club Northbrook Diamonds, where it is rumoured he'll be trained to leave his Farf "defending" mindset behind, making him a fully-Polarian defender. That could be exactly what Farfadillis needs. His teacher is Niko Marek, who shared the Polarian defense with Pekarik in the early days! Now that's interesting. Pekarik's likely to want to ease him into the starting eleven as soon as possible.

Name: Salomón Cayfú Martínez
Age: 22
Team: Image La Nueva Avenida Image
Description: Cayfú is a defender with a talent for bombing forward. Like every Farf defender in existence. However, he has another talent that is extremely rare in Farf defenders: he knows when it is convenient to bomb forward and when it is not. This alone was more than enough for Pekarik to take a liking to him. Salomón had already sparked Rossizzo's interest before, however, so Pekarik's Not seeing something nobody saw before. Originally from Libertarian Ferdullaele's pretty respectable youth system, La Nueva Avenida quickly signed him after he showed what he was capable of for a Di Bradini Cup-winning squad that will be remembered for many years to come. As a bonus for Pekarik, he does know how to defend properly. That's notable. Notorious for some Farves.

Name: John Dragonslayer Richardson
Age: 20
Team: Image Waldenøya Bears Image
Description: Son of Apoxian parents, born and raised in Farfadillis. At the age of fourteen, he moved to the Polar Islandstates. There, he started a career in football (sort of). For Waldenøya Bears, a mediocre club at best. They're currently fighting relegation in the Divisjon 2. Beyond his awesome surname, little is known about John. However, Pekarik's reasons for calling him up are evident: he's astonishingly rough when playing. So far he's been reponsible for four serious injuries at youth level, yet he's only received two red cards. He seems to be good at hiding the crimes he commits. Pekarik must've been really desperate to call up a twenty-year old player from his country's second division, and from a club fighting relegation no less. However, the same club has something going for it: they've already produced a World-Class defender in the form of Willem Otkupshchikov. Alright, maybe World-Class is pushing it, but the guy was good enough to be called up by the current best national team in the world.

Name: Rancisc Albus Faró Ígneo
Age: 28
Team: Image Red Star Severny Image
Description: Faró is Dandalleion's half-brother (on his mother side). He's, just like him, very fast, though not as much. He's not the best of defenders, and indeed his defensive skills are above-average at best, but his very good reflexes sort of make up for it, as well as his skills with the ball, being able to dribble and pass, something many good defenders can't do (though most Farf defenders can). Many goals that come from the centre are his fault, however, but Mêndêlöíndçêl and Alaminos are players who are perfectly capable of patching the holes Faró leaves. Still, don't ever think he's a bad player, as no bad player can reach the Divisjon One, become his team's captain and play for his national team. He has recently fallen from grace, after a long streak of bad performances, but he could return any time.

Midfielders

Name: Yurpá Mêndêlöíndçêl Nüyntâk
Age: 29
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Say hello to the captain, and one of the best players of the team. If there's anyone who knows what playing for Farfadillis is, it's either Lisdiren or him, with both having played each and every game the national team has played. If there's anyone who knows about tough times, it's without a doubt Yurpá. He had to work his way out of Ruland, a complete hell-hole, by leaving his family behind to get to where he is now. He has had to make many tough decisions throughout his life. But enough drama, nobody cares about it right now. When it comes to football, all decisions seem very easy to him. He can strip any player from the ball as soon as he/she/it is unfortunate enough to give this frenzied midfielder half a centimetre. He is a machine. His endurance is almost unmatched. He can often be seen connecting sprints in a way that seems impossible. When he puts his eyes on the ball, it's all he cares about. This probably should be a flaw of his, but it's not. He will slide, jump, do just about anything to get the ball, but he never gets sent out. Indeed, he never commits unnecessary fouls. He's as clean a player as you may find, at least from the referee's perspective. He's not as good with the ball as some other players in the team, but he's by no means bad. He can provide teammates with assists, something he often did for his Astograthian club Oyardo, and dribble his way into the box (which is admittedly rare). However, there's one thing at which he excels, which is an added bonus that makes him the incredibly threatening player he is: he's very good from long range. His shots are not necessarily precise, though they tend to be. It's their sheer speed that makes them impossible to stop for the goalkeeper. Now, obviously, he'll be missing some attempts, and it may be difficult for him to find the space to shoot, but if he gets, say, three long-range shots in one match, chances are the other team is in deep trouble. He just seems to wreak his anger when he lets those missiles off his right foot. He can shoot with his left foot, too, but he's not that good with it. Despite being the captain, he's a very silent player inside the pitch, and will probably be the last person to be sent out due to being disrespectful to the referee. There's one last true thing about him: if to score a goal he has to suffer a terrible injury, he won't hesitate. This is one big flaw. He never seems to get injured for some reason, however. At least not with the national team. For Oyardo he had played more than two hundred games, evidence of just how experienced he is. He has turned down clubs like Royal Rumiatzi, too. Why? We're not sure. After Astograth going all fascist and its league becoming amateur, he's gone back to Farfadillis (now fascist, funnily enough!). He's joined Mâ Âlâmëómë, a club he once defended for a season and single-handedly gave the league title to. Needless to say that Mâ Âlâmëómë is extremely scary for all other Farf teams now that he and Risko joined their ranks.

Name: Alex Terán Loya
Age: 26
Team: Image FC Endeavour Image
Description: Where to start? Terán is an incredibly classy yet very passionate player. He sees football as just a game, though he does take it very seriously in times of need. Always a cheerful, cheeky player, he can and will do anything to opposing defenders. He's spectacular when it comes to chipping the ball from outside the box. He's always aware of the opposing goalkeeper's position and, if the goalkeeper is a few steps from the goal, he'll chip the ball. If he's not, he'll shoot powerfully to one of the posts. It has worked wonders for him playing for La Nueva Avenida, Farf club, getting the best player of the season award over many other very good players, such as Abuda, Einarsson, and even the Jansen twins. His endurance is stunning, his speed above-average, his dribbling very good and his playmaking eye-catching. He's one of Rossizzo's biggest successes, as nobody would've called him up when Rossizzo did. He ended up not only winning his starting position in the national team, but also being a vital part of the World Cup 66 squad that got to the round of sixteen, even scoring against the eventual champions, Eura. Though, well, that game was pretty much Risko Kâí versus Craig Sinclair. He's very good defensively, and is a player of box-to-box characteristics. He plays a slightly more attacking role than centre midfielder, but he still helps the defense considerably. However, Pekarik wants him to defend even more. What he's not yet aware of, as he's not met him yet, is that Terán is so absent-minded he won't even realize he's not following his instructions when inside the pitch. Terán will definitely be frustrating for Steffan, but the kid's got talent and nobody can deny it. He's recently been a key player for Endeavour as they won their second Apoxian League title. In that sense, he's Tenian's heir to the position of venerated-Farf-in-Apox. Tuzzio and Terán can easily assist Dandalleion, who is one of the easiest players to assist (maybe in the World), so watch out for that. It certainly doesn't help the opposing defense that both of them are very precise long-range shooters, something almost characteristic of most Farf attackers nowadays, apparently.

Name: Risko Kâí Tüzá
Age: 25
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Risko Kâí is an incredibly dangerous hybrid of a left midfielder and a left winger. If he gets the ball, he will probably go down the flank and create a dangerous opportunity. He can dribble one, two, three and whatever number of players is needed. He's got each and every trick possible down his sleeve, and can pull off any of them at any given moment. He's a player who does not care for aggressiveness against him, and will tend to provoke the opponent by just ignoring him, and starting to go for nutmegs and similar humiliating tricks. He is, most of the time, extremely infuriating to the player(s) who have to take care of him, unless they're seasoned veterans who have already enough experience to know better. He can grab any mediocre defender's honour and tear it apart. He can cut in and shoot from afar, but he's not as good at it as he's going down the flank. He's pretty good at passing, too, but it's not his biggest asset. As said, his biggest strength is his dribbling. His feinting, though a very well-known trick, might just leave quantum physicists saying "Yeah, we were right." because of how unpredictable it is. Not many players can properly take care of him, as he's proved in two consecutive World Cups, destroying defenses at the young age of nineteen in World Cup 66. However, as heavily attacking-minded as he may sound, he's still good defensively. He gives his all for the team, and knows how to strip players from the ball, though he's definitely average at it. He may be very cheeky inside the pitch, but he's not the kind of player who gets a red card for idiotic things, and he's not really that temperamental. He's not the kind of player who dives either; it has happened that when he gets fouled inside the box he continues with the ball attempting to score or assista teammate, which backfires sometimes and just secures a goal some other times. This is not something good for the team, but it does follow the spirit of the game. He's got one very bright future, though he's already reaching his peak, some argue. His starting appearances while just twenty for Urbizania Wanderers should show that, so should his award as second best young player of the Astograthian league, just after the Polarian future superstar Moses Luc Bjerregaard. Oh, and he's captained a Di Bradini squad to the title, too. He was the best player of that team, and most likely the whole tournament. Many argue he could one day become the best Farf footballer in history. He has got to beat Dandalleion, though. Also, he's one of the two reasons why any Farf team not names La Nueva Avenida or Avenida Principal will not be wanting to face Mâ Âlâmëómë this season. The other one is this team's captain, but we already made that clear.

Name: Ichi Marco Tuzzio Grecco
Age: 29
Team: Image Jungle Strike Image
Description: Ichi Tuzzio is a very classy player; he often chooses to chip the ball when going one-on-one, and most of the time gets it right. However, it's not how classy he is that makes him stand out, being one of the best players Farfadillis has to offer. It is his incredibly convenient skill set for a centre attacking midfielder (though Pekarik's playing him as a centre midfielder now, what a shame!). First of all, he's a very good playmaker, and has almost telepathic communication with Dandalleion (they now even share their domestic club!), with them being very good friends outside the pitch, too. However, his playmaking ability is somewhat of a bonus, as what stands out is his incredible agility and reflexes when dribbling, coupled with his impressive technique. Therefore, he's a great dribbler, and can make his way into the box and score quite easily. It is not his dribbling, as good as it may be, that makes him stand above most others, though. It is his clinical shots that do. No matter where he is, he can get a shot on target if given half a centimetre. When inside the box and given space, the likelihood of him not scoring is very slim. He often aims for the lower corners, and almost always gets it right. His long-range shots are very common, too, and he often threatens opponents with them. Having to take care of Mêndêlöíndçêl's long-range efforts is not that difficult. Taking care of Alex Terán at the same time isn't close to impossible. Taking care of Dandalleion too makes it difficult. Adding Mâás Fôx into the mix makes it even more difficult. However, adding Tuzzio into the mix too makes it require an impressive tactician and very skilled, absolutely focused midfielders. Now, obviously, he won't get all long-range efforts right, but they all tend to be powerful and precise. Very, very precise. He's pretty fast, but there is two downsides to him, the two closely related. His endurance is below-average and, probably as a consequence, he does not help out defensively. Pekarik's gonna strive to change that, however. Nonetheless, his sheer ability more than makes up for it. He's been a ghost of his former self inside the pitch for some time now. Yet... he sort of plays like he used to in important matches. That kind of works.

Name: Mâás Jân Fôx Düçélájé
Age: 23
Team: Image Directus Image
Description: Mâás Fôx is a nightmare to any defense that is not world class. He's not great defensively, but he will cause a headache to most defenders. He's got an impressive long-range precision and an impressive playmaking ability. He can run down the flank if he wishes, but he prefers to cut in. Being ambidextrous lets him do whatever he wants, and makes him a lot more dangerous. Whenever he decides to cut in, defenders will have to guess whether he'll attempt a sniper assist to either Dandalleion, Roga, Terán or Tuzzio or just shoot from afar, which he does really well, by the way. He's wonderful with free kicks, taking most free kicks, though sharing them with Tuzzio as well. Free kicks are the most common way in which he scores, amounting to something close to 20% of his goals. If you want to know something that may make you fear him despite his age, here it goes: he tied Farfadillis' transfer fee record (10 million) at the age of sixteen, when he was transferred to Directus, renowned Euran team. By the way, he's very fast, just as everyone in the team. Oh, and he's very precise when crossing. And he couldn't care less about pressure. He's not in a great physical state, however, and he probably won't be able to endure an entire match. He can be stripped from the ball by virtue of physical strength, but it's not recommended as he may play his way around it and provoke a foul. He's got a very bright future, as his performances for Directus have indicated. Somewhat recently captained the Di Bradin squad in a very competent way, despite the side not amounting to much.

Name: Basajaun Alexander Courtemanche Rivière
Age: 23
Team: Image Fryi Frêndê Image
Description: Courtemanche is one of the many Di Bradini Cup winners in this squad. As a result, it's no surprise he's a pretty good player. However, he's a defensive midfielder, and that means competing with Mêndêlöíndçêl for the starting spot. Nonetheless, it also means Pekarik will be likely to use him as a substitute, so that's a plus with the advent of a Polarian manager. But, yeah, in terms of forming a part of the starting eleven, he's screwed. However, he can play as a centre back if needed and can add the defensiveness Pekarik so desperately is trying to find. He's not very skilled with the ball, but he's great in other areas, mainly defensive ones such as tackling and game-reading. Let's just call him a poor man's Mêndêlöíndçêl, cause that's short and to the point. I can't think of a better description.

Name: Ostadar Arambilet Olitzar
Age: 22
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: Ostadar is Astograthian. He's played for Astograth. He was Astograth's next big thing. But the nation became authoritarian, and Ostadar did not like that. He also did not like how the national team disbanded. So, well, as luck would have it, he'd play for his new home, Farfadillis. Son of Gaur Arambilet, Ostadar takes after him in terms of being able to score many goals, but he isn't a striker, he's a midfielder. He plays in the centre and is apt both offensively and defensively, something specially relieving for Pekarik. He's got the talent to read the game, and the talent to create goals out of thin air, a must-have for a Farf midfielder. His long-range shots are scarily accurrate, and he's got the kind of vigour needed to enter the box looking for a striker's goal and actually getting one. He's likely to cause more than one headache to opposing defenders should he get the nod from the Polarian manager. He's very professional, so he's unlikely to play any worse than he played for Astograth.

Name: Rübéãn Tôr Rämír
Age: 19
Team: Image FC Endeavour Image
Description: Tôr is one talented player. He's got the spirit of a typical Rulandese midfielder; unquenchable and undesirably dedicated to the team (undesirably in terms of health). You'll see him going up and down the pitch all the time. He knows how to defend, but he's also a cheeky player. He will dribbled and attempt passes others would not, and he will get many of them right. He's a bit reckless, however, though it does mean you won't see him diving. Though he's right-footed, he's certainly not bad at all with his left foot, often shooting from afar with it when playing on the right. He can play on both left and right, and cause headaches to anyone who has to take care of him. Dí Maozöxê certainly did not disappoint anyone after producing Mâás Fôx. Rübéãn Tôr is the new talented midfielder from Ruland, and he's already a big deal. Nineteen and in the national team? Check. Signed by an important international club? Check. Scarily talented? Check.

Name: Kühâx
Age: 25
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Another player getting to the squad thanks to some impressive performances in the Di Bradini Cup Farfadillis won. Unfortunately for Kühâx, though, he's got the toughest competition out of all the players from said squad. On one side, Risko Kâí, who captained him in the Di Bradini Cup he won. On the other, Mâás Fôx, who would've been preferred over him in the Di Bradini Cup had Rossizzo chosen to call up any capped players other than Risko. However, nobody can deny Kühâx is more than worthy of the spot in the bench. Playing for Mâ Âlâmëómë he's impressed many. He's got a lot of talent running down the flank, and his crossing is exquisite. However, unlike most Farves, he's not that good cutting in and going for a shot, or a pass. He's pretty tall, and as a result can score headers to make up for it. As a bonus, he's better defending than Risko and Mâás, which Pekarik will certainly appreciate. He's still likely to enter in most matches anyway, as Fôx's endurance is far from admirable and after the eightieth minute or so a fresh Kühâx is way better than Fôx. Also, his name may have got you a bit confused. Thing is he was given the alias Kühâx when put on adoption, and once adopted his parents decided to leave him with just the alias and nothing else. At least he didn't have to live in Ruland!

Name: Matías Delafuente Obrero
Age: 21
Team: Image Viztourzys Kolektyvinis Image
Description: A fantastic playmaker, and a player with an enormous future. He became the first Farf to win a UICA competition, though he was followed by everyone from Dor Frío a season later. Oh, and he scored in the Globe Cup final he won! He may not be the best dribbler, and his long-range shots may indeed not be that much of a hazard for the opposition, but this youngster can see any holes a defense leaves to be abused. His passes are incisive and as a result wreak havoc, specially if he plays along players like Dandalleion. One of La Nueva Avenida's academy's greatest products. Too bad they let him leave so early. He's also arrived with perfect timing: just young enough to get the starter position over Tuzzio due to his aging and just old enough to win the Di Bradini Cup as a starter. Oh, yeah, he was incredible in that competition. Farf fans have high hopes for this guy, and he's even shown signs of being a good leader. He's extremely silent inside the pitch, though; he only speaks when absolutely needed. Oh, worth noting that he plays for a team with an extremely badass name, too.

Name: Sê Mêrí Mör
Age: 29
Team: Image FC Torshavn Image
Description: Mêrí is a strange case. He can play very good games just as he can play terrible games, though his skills have never been questioned. He was dropped from his starting position some AOCAF Cups ago following a poor performance the previous cycle. However, he has now had some apparently great seasons with Torshavn, guided by Fendergéson Numbá. Despite his team ending in a bad position Mêrí might be getting another chance soon. If he gets to play, watch our for his dribbling, speed and crossing. Oh, and his shooting. He may inadvertently cut in and bend the ball to the far post. He will be employed by Pekarik as a left or right midfielder, though. Well, at least that's the option the most likely to happen. He can play as a striker, and that's actually his natural position, but the competition is just too fierce for him.

Name: Cvijetin Santic Denisovic
Age: 25
Team: Image Montfort University Image
Description: Santic is a very rare type of player: one that is extremely loyal to his team, regardless of circumstances. He played for Prostran I Forzuda, a team that bounces between lower leagues and only left when the money his team was given was better than what he could ever give to the team with his performances. He's notable for his very good tackling and prediction of the ball's path, which gives him a natural talent for recovering the ball. However, his long-range efforts, while not particularly impressive, are good too, and his dribbling and passing are not to be overlooked. He is a very balanced midfielder, and is often considered the exception to a well-known rule: Karuvans are bad at football. For the sake of context, Karuvis is a Farf state that does not produce worthwhile football players very often, as you should've guessed. Pekarik is likely to take a liking to him, though there are many better options for his position.

Name: Mirogod Chernyshov Balkaus
Age: 25
Team: Image Flying Jellyfish Image
Description: Chernyshov wreaked havoc last season playing for Flying Jellyfish. He scored many goals, and that earned him a spot on Pekarik's mind. He's Sunrisian-born, though in a Farf town. He originally played for Pezcemá Golden Magikarps, a Sunrisian team with Farf roots that has a special deal with Farf clubs. Flying Jellyfish noticed him before anyone else, following an extraordinary Di Bradini Cup (as a substitute, but he still managed to shine). Signed by them, he never disappointed. He's got some very, very tough competition, with two of the players competing with him having played alongside him in that Di Bradini Cup. And the other two are the starters, and national heros. It will be tough for Mirogod, but he's certainly talented, and very reliable.

Name: Itxaso Zuazubiskar Lauvé
Age: 23
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: The last foreign midfielder. There's Ostadar, there's Ichi, there's Mirogod and this is the last guy. We swear. Zuazubiskar is mostly Astograthian and, though we all know how that went down, his reasons for playing for Farfadillis have, surprisingly, nothing to do with authoritarianism. Farfadillis was the only team that ever paid attention to him, so he just chose to play for his mother's country. Not very complicated. He has recently officially set foot on Farfadillis, too! He's now playing for Avenida Leal, a team that came in begging for his talent after the Astograthian league KABOOM'D.

Forwards

Name: Nazeau Roga Quimartan
Age: 28
Team: Image Izotz Zubia Image
Description: Roga is a mystery. He does not excel at anything, but he's above-average in everything a striker needs. He's also an avid writer with a few books under his belt, one of which is a best-seller in Farfadillis. All of them were pretty grotesque in terms of plot, mind. He's now the striker (besides Dandalleion) who gets the most minutes, but competition is, as always, very fierce. Following Iturributa's annexation, he stayed in Astograth. Then Astograth went crazy and he left for Izotz Zubia, Audioslavian club. He has been a Champions' Cup runner-up. Now, the competition for being Dandalleion's partner may be very tough, but Roga has coninuously convinced, and Pekarik knows full well he's currently the best option. He's shown he's best used as a poacher. Along with Dandalleion, they form a partnership of Champions' Cup runners-up, but who says they can't win trophies soon? Oh, wait, they recently did. Mentioning the AOCAF Cup win another time can't hurt. Nevermind the final loss the following edition.

Name: Friekder Dandalleion Ígneo
Age: 30
Team: Image Jungle Strike Image
Description: Say hello to Friekder Dandalleion, the most famous Farf player around. He started his career playing for the swamp football national team. Ferdullaele gave him a chance for a trial as a result of his great performances in said national team. He was great. He eventually started playing for Ferdullaele, and then the national team, with a move to Turori following. The rest, as they say, is history. Dandalleion is the very definition of a versatile player, being able to play as either a right midfielder, a left midfielder, a centre attacking midfielder or any position up front. He can also play as a wingback if really, really needed. Being so versatile not only gives him more chances of starting for his team (though he does not need those extra chances), but it also gives him an ample skillset to pull off just about anything regardless of position. He knows each and every position down to every detail, and knows how to mix them, giving a lethal result. Rossizzo seemed to have found the perfect combination for this, making him play as a striker on the left. Pekarik will do the same. This allows him to cut in and shoot to the lower corners, something he does well thanks to playing as a centre attacking midfielder for Jungle Strike (not the part of cutting in, obviously). This also allows him to venture down the flank thanks to his times as a left midfielder, and it also allows him to act as any other striker thanks to his times as a striker. However, there's one thing that makes Dandalleion outstanding. When you mix his hybrid position with astonishing speed (he even got two gold medals last summer Olympics, and qualified to the two hundred metres final, though his inclusion in the Farf delegation was a bureaucratic mistake) and an exquisite control of the sphere, you get a striker that's very easy to assist. Sure, he can create chances for himself, but having Tuzzio and Terán assisting you makes everything a lot easier. Dandalleion also makes things easier for them. His dribbling and his finishing, which are unmatched when it comes to Farves, let him finish everything he starts. He's as complete as forwards come. The trick he likes to pull off the most is, as said, to cut in and shoot to the lower corners. The shots tend to be very fast and precise, which makes it all that harder for the goalkeeper. He's a very acrobatic player too, and he's not bad when heading, though he's the one who takes the corners most of the time, once scoring directly from one against Northern Sunrise Islands. His crossing is very good, but he does not tend to cross (except from corners, as mentioned) anyway. If he goes down the flank, he's very likely to attempt to enter the box and create a much more dangerous chance than just crossing the ball. He's known for appearing when most needed. He's one of Jungle Strike's most valuable players. Renowned as the best Farf player along with Mêndêlöíndçêl, but he's the one who gets the spotlight. Let's just quote "SPORT NOVARI Fans' Guide to the World Cup 67" to finish his description: "He'll terrorise any team he's playing against." He's currently at his peak.

Name: Çis Dragãozý Törètá
Age: 26
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Dragãozý is a very complete striker. He's shorter than the others, but he can score headers if given the space to. He single-handedly saved Sent 01 from relegation not very long ago, and is certainly an important part of Mâ Âlâmëómë. Çis is known for spreading inspiration to the entire team. At the age of twenty-six, he's a great leader. He's also very fast and completely tireless. He can dribble really well, too. He has shown time and time again that he can score goals single-handedly, an ability that certainly hasn't escaped Pekarik's eye. He is likely to get a good amount of playing time, even if it means using a third striker. His performances last season and the one before were impossible to ignore.

Name: José Torino Fuego Teixidó
Age: 21
Team: Image FC Axel Heiburg Image
Description: First things first: Yes, he's twenty-one. José Torino Fuego was a starter for the Di Bradini Cup-winning squad and was even the top goalscorer. He started playing at Flamagua and got them promoted to the FFL2. He even got them really far in the Series B Champions' Cup. Oh, and he got them promoted to the FFL after that. What followed that? He moved to Liria Prizren, where many held the belief he he would excel in due time. Sadly, Mytannion is a failed state now. He's without a doubt a complete striker, heralded as the next Dandalleion, and he's got just the right age for that. His brother, Lorenzo Fuego, is capped for Farfadillis and occasionally called up as well. Oh, his eldest brother is the captain of Tifón De La Costa, a club recently promoted to the FFL and promptly relegated from it, too. Inside the pitch, Fuego is notable for his unquenchable will (his surname means fire in Spanish!), his dribbling (which can even get a bit confusing), his ability to never let a hole in the opposing defense escape his attention, his exquisite passing to make use of the previous skill and, finally, his stunning precision with his feet and his head. Certainly one with an enormous future. He's just the right age, too. He's young, so he's under no pressure to get the starting spot, and the competition for the two starting spots is very, very fierce. Dandalleion takes one spot automatically, and then Tenian, Roga, Dragãozý, Cornelio and his brother battle for the other spot. Yet, he's much younger than them and so can just wait a bit. It's a shame we won't enjoy him and Dandalleion playing together in their prime, though. He recently moved to Axel Heiburg, where he's expected to soon enough become a key player.

Name: Horacio Cornelio Ramos
Age: 26
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: The reason why Cornelio has been called up is mainly that he's been consistently impressive playing for Avenida Leal for some time now. He's a striker with a stunning speed and good finishing, but his dribbling is not very good. In all honesty, he shouldn't be getting much - if any - playing time, but who knows what goes through Pekarik's mind? He's had his minutes already, and he actually went to the last World Cup Farfadillis qualified to. He's never let anyone down so far, so that's going for him. He's nearing his maximum potential, as well.

Name: Lorenzo Fuego Teixidó
Age: 26
Team: Image Brentwood Charizards Image
Description: José Torino's capped brother. Lorenzo is not an exceptional player, but he's fortunate enough to combine all that a striker needs. He's extremely fast, good at passing, a clinical finisher and has got the skills needed to dribble. His endurance is not bad, but he's not the kind of player who gives his all for the team, so he does not put that to use a lot. He's not the best player putting up with pressure, but he can score when you least expect it. He's a weaker version of Dandalleion, and more of a one-trick pony. Nonetheless, he's a pretty good player. Many say his younger brother (José Torino Fuego) will get a lot further, though. They're very unlikely to be wrong.

Name: Rancisc Varo Tenian Machaca
Age: 31
Team: Image Bjarnarey Flotilla Image
Description: Tenian is a pretty versatile player. Originally a right midfielder, he signed for Apoxian club of the century Gwinevra Barbarians early in his career and became a legend there. He was probably one of the reasons, if not the reason why Gwinevra Barbarians became Apoxian club of the century. However, he did not become a legend playing as a right midfielder. Actually, they found out he could work better as a striker. It's difficult to tell why, however. He's not fast. He's not that tall. He's strong, yes, but that's not what makes a striker good. His finishing is pretty good, sure. He can score from crosses, too, thanks to the surprise factor involved, but that does not make him a great striker. He's not the greatest dribbler ever. He's a pretty good playmaker, but as a striker that's not so useful. The reason for him being a substitute (and not very long ago a starter) for Farfadillis and a legend for all Apoxians is, well, probably his sheer luck. It's either luck or an incredibly complex understanding of physics. He's that one guy that gets the lucky rebounds and gets the goal by kicking the ball a metre from the goal. Sounds easy, but, far from it, Tenian's job is pretty difficult. He basically relies on his prediction of the ball's path and his accuracy, because many chances are not as easy as they seem. He's the much-needed striker that, instead of pulling wonderful goals out of a hat, makes sure to 'clean up' by scoring from rebounds. Roga has beaten him recently, however, but he's shown he's in-form playing for his new club, the Bjarnarey Flotilla, in which he apparently kind of excelled.

Tactics

Forget everything you though you knew about Farf football tactics. Pekarik is about to change everything. Or, actually, try to change that. All Farf players are very heavily offensive-minded, to a point where it's very irrational. Most of the time regardless of the result, the Farf national team has been known to rather recklessly go for a goal. Pekarik knows better, however, and has started a slow transition towards a more defensive formation that better takes advantage of the talent the Farf players have.

Stadium

La Fantás (100,000 seats)

Say hello to Farfadillis' still-kind-of-somewhat-new stadium! Having relatively recently hosted the Champions' Cup's 50th final and the Baptism of Fire's 54th final, it's shown to be a great stadium. It's got many, many, many seats, and it's filled with violent Farves, fanatics without any limits willing to shoot each and every one of your nation's fans! Not really, those are just a minority, albeit an incredibly loud one. No, seriously, gunshots are very loud.

The Felixian Football Association Presents...

The Felixian National Football Team

Intro-

Times have changed. Last World Cup the Felixian Football Association was free of political influences and Felix itself was a free nation with a strong democracy older than the nation has been independent. Now? The FFA is constantly bullied by the Nationalist government, the most recent example is the latest edition of The Felixian Invitational where Generalissimo Lazzaro Passerini, leader of Felix, pressured the head of the FFA, Wilson McKinley, into inviting new Corvidae allies, The Sarian, Yttribia, and The Inevitable Syndicate. As for the nation itself, a bloody coup threw out democracy in Felix and instilled a Nationalist government, hundreds of years of democracy is gone now and aforementioned Lazzaro Passerini is in control. Adding in the bad news some players defected to different countries, most famously Kunibert Mathias, who defected to Nephara.

Despite all this bad news Felix is still in their golden age of football, ranked 24th in the multiverse using current rankings this team definably has a chance to make it even further in the World Cup should they qualify again. Most of the players of the national team has remained loyal to the Nationalist government (or at least has no comment about the new government) and are part of greatest team Felix has ever produced. In Felix the Nationalists expect Felix to win it all to show Corvidae might, should Felix fail to do that, people might be kicked out of the team. As unfair as that sounds that's the logic right now they want to win it all. It is because of that the FFA has ordered Ishikawa Haruka to at least make it to the Semifinals. If her team makes it to the Finals and wins it she will not be in danger of losing her job. If she makes it to the Semis there will be talks if she will stay or not.

Now that has been done, here is the team...

GK (2)-
Tryggve Klemens {Age: 29} (Royals FF Image)**
Klemens was born in Hanover, Felix and was a promising goalkeeper ever since he first started playing football. Due to his early tallness he recorded no goals for his first years as a goalkeeper. After being scouted by various teams Klemens joined Dusseldorf F.C and after some years playing there he moved to Royals FF. With the retirement of Felix's greatest goalkeeper Tryggve Klemens is now viewed as the next man for the job. He had a solid season at Royals FF a Vanersholmare club.

Kiki Nuremberg {Age: 25} (Trieste Image)
Kiki Nuremberg was born in Florence, Felix a small town near Trieste. Her parents were originally from Volker in German Felix. Kiki actually didn't start as a goalkeeper when she first started playing football at the age of 7. She was a striker and quite a good one, but with convincing of her dad she changed her position. It was there that scouts from Felix's Women's Football League (WFL) discovered her and Trieste, one of the women's clubs in Felix got her due to her skills at free kicks, passing and goalkeeping. After some time on the bench she became a starter and she is now the main player of Trieste. She had a tough season so it is for that reason she hasn't started yet. Expect her to be in some games to try and take the main goalkeeping spot.

DEF (8)-
Bernardino Florentino {Age: 31} (Real Santa Maria Image)*
Bernardino is an aging defensive star in Real Santa Maria, originally from Altomare and once was on their youth team, this overlooked player was released by the Altomare side and eventually landed a job in Rel Santa Maria. Hoping to prove his doubters wrong and show Altomare that he needed to be in their team, he became won of the best players in the FCL in the 2011-2012 season and even won two FCL championships with his team. He has done remarkably well for Felix in the qualifiers and eventually the finals of the World Cup as he was a talismanic leader of the team.

Aloysius Blau {Age: 31} (Stalliongrad HC Image)**
Aloysius Blau hasn't had the glamourous life compared to many other players in this team. Born in downtown Sieberg, he comes from humble and also tragic beginnings. His father was killed by muggers at the age of 5 and his mother worked all day to support him and his younger brother, Titus Blau. Football was an escape for the young Blau and eventually he garnered attention from scouts from many elite Felixian clubs. He was heavily scouted by Sporting Volker and he soon started to play for them at the age of 16. He did amazing in his years there and after winning two FCL titles with them he moved to Stalliongrad where he continues to play amazingly well for the Equestrian States team.

Alexis Garcia {Age: 28} (Fadron Flight Image)*
Alexis Garcia is from the small town of Islas in northern Felix. Because the town had two official languages Alexis learned two languages as a kid, Catalan and Castilian (Spanish). When he first joined Hampshire United, he had to quickly learn English and he did. But he wasn't that good of a speaker and because of that he was shy with his teammates in the English speaking city of Hampshire. Fortunately for him he gained confidence as a player and as a person when started in the team and soon became one of the leaders of the team. In the last World Cup qualifiers and finals he continued to impress with his fast and physical style of defending. He is expected to do well in this edition of the World Cup.

Rubinho Mata {Age: 31} (Sieberg Image)
Rubinho Mata is a very smart man, he comes from the town of Campinho in Felix but because Portuguese is not one of the national languages, he had to learn a lot of them and adapt to other languages. Right now he can speak four of the five national languages, he can speak in Swedish, English, Italian, Castilian and his native language Portuguese. He can also understand German and French. But his talents are not just in learning languages, but on the pitch itself. He is a excellent defender and has shown with his Sieberg club, in the World Cup though, he has become less effective.

Manuele Provenza {Age: 29} (Altomare Image)
Manuele was born in Altomare, Felix and has loved his Altomare team forever. So it was a shock when he moved to another team, especially a foreign one. But he was that good and he couldn't help himself but attract attention from foreign clubs. So he left Altomare to prove his stuff elsewhere. But things didn't work out, the nation folded their national league and Provenza returned to Altomare where he is a power player in one of the best clubs in Felix, He too is a natural leader despite the fact he is quite the cocky man.

Josh Smith {Age: 29} (Hampshire United Image)
Josh Smith has always been ignored by the common crowd. Despite him being the first black man to play in Hampshire United in the 2007-2008 season he has made little noise in the team until the 2010-2011 season. But then he made even more noise by becoming one of the shutdown defenders for the Hampshire United club during the 2012-2013 season in which the team qualified for the Globe Cup. He has since declined but he remains a possible starter for the team.

Felipe Garcia {Age: 23} (Sporting Volker Image)
Felipe Garcia was born in Vigo, Felix and joined a small semi-pro club before he was picked up by Sporting Volker, one of Felix's up incoming teams at the time. Garcia is a new player to the national team and despite his age is slowly becoming a defensive star at his club in Sporting Volker. Just this 2014-2015 season alone he has made two on the line plays where he prevented a goal. So to say this guy is the future Bernardino Florentino isn't that farfetched.

Lalo Urbina {Age: 26} (Universidad de Santander Image)
Lalo Urbina was born in Santander, Felix and is half Kaji, half human. Despite the initial racism in Santander he managed to find a spot in Universidad de Santander inaugural team. After a rough couple of seasons him and his team managed to thrive in the FCL eventually Globe Cup competition became a reality. After these successful seasons he was called to the national team, the first half Kaji in the national team. Let's hope he can start in the future.

MID (10)-
Ji Iseul Kwan {Age: 29} (Ponyville United Image)**
Ji Iseul Kwan is the only Korean in the whole team. He is also one of the fastest players in the whole team as he has a great level of acceleration and has big strides. That's probably the main reason why he was picked by Ponyville United during the offseason a few years back. But not only does Kwan have great speed he is just a great midfielder to be with in the pitch and a great man off the pitch. He is a talented shooter and expect him to do some long shots in the tournament.

Gabriel Jenaro {Age: 29} (Fontvieille FC Image) *
The man that replaced Sebastian Krister has certainly made his mark on the pitch in Real Santa Maria. he made a huge impact to the team and is a crowd favourite in the club. That attracted the attention from foreign clubs as Fontvieille a power in Yttribian football bought him from Real Santa Maria. He has certainly improved in his shooting but isn't as good as Krister quite yet. Despite that, he is a amazing midfielder with great awareness and strength. He is also good at corner shots as he delivers the ball right to the heads or legs of the men in the middle.

Sebastian Krister {Age: 27} (Bjarnarey Flotilla Image)*
Sebastian Krister is the main star of Felixian football at the moment as he is currently the only Felixian in a top league, the Polarian league. Bjarnarey has certainly improved since he joined that team and he and his great teammates took on the giants of Polar Islandstates club football recently and got a Globe Cup spot, something Bjarnarey fans loved. He has excelled in the new system Ishikawa Haruka implemented back in four years back.

Maria Martell {Age: 26} (Saberfell Moths Image)**
Maria Martell is the oldest of the Martell sisters from Buena Villa, Felix near Santander. Maria Martell was scouted by the Trieste team and played for them regularly for the team and even developed a cult status for the team when she was one of the best players in the Women's FCL. After playing in the FCL she became a seasoned veteran in the Felixian football and because of that she was bought by New Sideburnese club, Saberfell Moths. She is expected to start in some games soon as she has been getting better and better.

Chloe Álvarez {Age: 26} (Royals FF Image)
Chloe Álvarez was born in Cordoba, Felix and was once played for the women's Cordoba club in the Women's FCL before it closed up along with the league when the two leagues merged. She was very successful for the Lyon club where she was one of the main reasons that the club has won Copa Félix, qualified for the Globe Cup nearly winning the FCL in their first season in the first division. She was been called up by Ishikawa Haruka in her attempt to include more women in the national team, it was successful as she proved a point to the Felixian football world that women can be as good as men. She then transferred to the Vanersholmare team of Royals FF after another successful Lyon season and has since done well in Vanersholm.

Andres de Colorado {Age: 29} (Canterlot Royals Image)
Andres, de Colorado was once ignored by the best scouts back in his youth but he had a quick rise when he joined and played for Napoli. Thanks to that he was quickly noticed by foreign teams. And after a great season with Napoli he then transferred out to Ponyville United, where he currently plays and has since then has been proven to be a good weapon for the team as he has played solidly. Expect him to be seen more in the near future during qualifiers.

Manolo Espina {Age: 29} (Altomare Image)
Manolo Espina was born in Gallo, Felix a small Italian speaking town just west of Altomare. He has been a great talent ever since he was a little boy and he was soon discovered by two teams, Altomare and Sieberg. Going against his parent's wishes, he decided to go with Sieberg, instead of the hometown favourite, Altomare. Espina recently transferred to Altomare (finally following his parent's wishes) after many years in Sieberg. It was said he joined because saw the opportunities joining that presented and that his former team wasn't the right fit for him. He will be a major weapon for the national team in the future.

Nickolaus Dürr {Age: 26} (St.John's Arsenal Image)
Nickolaus was born in Sieberg, Felix and was another star player in the U-21 team that Sanna coached. He joined the team at 22, the youngest age the FFA would allow people to join the team. He was a weapon for sure in Sieberg as he is both the shooter and the passer. So like most star Felixian midfielders he can do a multitude of things. And that multitasking ability allowed him to move from Sieberg to Colesley United in the BoF hopeful nation of Florgania. After a season there he was released and he joined St. John's Arsenal for a multi-million dollar deal. Nickolaus will probably not start yet but he might be subbed in if the team needs extra firepower in a important match or if a player gets tired.

Jacinto Crespo {Age: 25} (Universidad de Santander Image)
Jacinto Crespo was born Santander, Felix and is the son of a lawyers. His parents wanted him to follow in their footsteps but he would have none of that as he enrolled himself in the football academy in Santander, against his parent's wishes. Still, he did quite well and impressed the trainers. So when Universidad de Santander joined the FCL and went professional, he was picked as a starter of the new team. Since then he has built a reputation as a solid midfielder with talents that should be noticed. He won't start that many games but he when he does he will certainly leave a mark.

Fernando Cleto {Age: 28} (Real Santa Maria Image)
This man for Santa Monica, Felix has been dubbed as the next Sebastian Krister (despite the fact he is older than Krister, he hasn't been in the spotlight till now) and has been a mainstay for Real Santa Maria. Unlike most of the subs here he has a actual chance in making it to the starting 11 due to fact a player (who shall not be named) defected. Expect him to shoot for a spot as he has the skills plus the experience.

FWD (6)-
Mikel Araboa {Age: 30} (Stemanisis SSC Image)**
Mikel was born in Barcelona, Felix. Mikel Araboa was one of the main stars of the Felixian national team as he was one of the top goal scorers of the whole team in the BoF and was in the top five in the list in the World Cup qualifiers back in the 63 cycle. He use to play in Apox with the football club, Mandon United. But after some years of failure for his former club he moved to Stemanisis SSC in Yttribia. He is agile, speedy and has uncanny way of scoring goals as he is accurate with shots and is good at passing. He now regained his spot as starting forward.

Haruto Takahashi {Age: 26} (Altomare Image)
Haruto Takahashi was scouted by Altomare when he lived in Villanova and was soon put in the Altomare B team when it was created. He soon became a starter and caught the attention from the front office of the Altomare team, he joined it the first team and soon made an impact as his speed and accurate shots soon propelled his club. Now he has earned a spot in the national team. Will he start at all? Certainly.

Eutimio Salazar {Age: 28} (Ponyville United Image)
Euitimio Salazar is another great forward from Santa Maria, but unlike his counterpart, he decided to play for Real Santa Maria, where he played football for years. After some successful seasons there he was bought by Ponyville United where he plays today. He is a talented man with great speed, shooting power and passing ability but sometimes loses the ball. He is a man to watch for as he will be used in a lot of counteroffensive operations in the game.

Manager-
Ishikawa Haruka {Age: 25} Image
Ishikawa Haruka (Mikazukian: 石川 遥 , Tinchalian: 石川 遥; born September 28, 1989) is a Mizuyukian football manager and former professional football player. She is also the current manager of Felix, having taken up the post following the sacking of interim coach Manuel Alessandri by the Felixian FA. She is the first ever female manager to take up the reins at Felix, and simultaneously the first foreigner to do so.

Ishikawa is widely regarded as one of the best football managers the nation has ever produced, leading an unheralded Mizuyuki team to a respectable mid-table finish in their first ever World Cup qualifying attempt while also securing a comfortable position in the Casaran Baptism of Fire 52, narrowly missing out on progression to the second stage. Following her maiden World Cup campaign, Ishikawa took a six-month sabbatical from her position and was replaced by Mizuyuki U21 coach Shirakiin Kurumi. In her absence, Shirakiin performed well beyond expectations, lifting Mizuyuki's first piece of silverware in the form of the Market Cup and leading the team to qualification for the World Cup Finals at her first attempt. Shirakiin's unexpected success led the Mizuyuki FA to relieve Ishikawa of her coaching duties and appoint Shirakiin with immediate effect. Finding herself without gainful employment, Ishikawa applied for the vacant post of Felix manager in late 2013 and was ultimately successful, defeating several other qualified candidates by way of a thorough examination process to secure the position.

Ishikawa is known as a progressive coach favouring an attacking style of play. Her teams are renowned for their coruscating, fluid attacking movement and emphasis on possession. She generally employs a forward-thinking 4-2-3-1, and has been known to abandon responsible defending in favour of all-out offensive play.

Hutt River national football team

Manager: Albert Müller - 51

Squad
Bold indicates starters
Goalkeepers
#1 - Jack Stafford - 35 - Malham United
#13 - Richard Wijnter - 21 - North Bury
#24 - Olaf Houk - 30 - Inselhauptstadt

Jack Stafford returns as first choice goalkeeper for possibly the last time. A relatively poor season combined with younger goalkeepers performing at a higher standards led some to question whether he would be first choice this time around. Müller still had faith that he would do well, perhaps because his second option, Wijnter, has not had much experience at international level, appearing just once in an Under-21 world cup. Wijnter did have the best season of all in Liga 1, winning the Golden Glove at the end of the season, so expect him to be played a couple of times against some of the weaker sides. Olaf Houk is very much the third choice, rather eccentric. Had a good season at Inselhauptstadt, helping them to a surprising Globe Cup spot.

Defenders
#2 - Matthew Gulden - 27 - Kleinestadt
#3 - Brendon Southers - 29 - Malham United
#4 - Jamie Steel - 24 - North Bury
#5 - Bradley Lees - 20 - Kleinestadt

#14 - Edmund Stauss - 25 - North Bury
#15 - Noel Jacobson - 27 - Kleinestadt
#19 - Jack Edwards - 33 - Forford

Two new full backs enter the starting line up. Lees and Gulden join their Kleinestadt team-mate Jacobson, who has been dropped from the starting centre back position, it being took by young Steel, brought into the squad after Southworth retired. A similar type of player to Southworth, Steel is a good complimentary player to the more agile Southers. Edmund Stauss may feature in qualifying ahead of the younger Lees, who hasn't performed particuarly well in big games this season.

Midfielders
#6 - Edward Gallatley - 29 - North Bury (C)
#7 - Ezra Hobbs - 32 - Malham United

#17 - Barrie Fish - 22 - Chirk-on-Ouse
#18 - Colin Granville - 30 - Kleinestadt
#21 - Stephen Twyrdy - 23 - South Bury

Gallatley returns to the national side after being a key player in North Bury's title win. He also has quite a bit of pressure to perform well after last season, where he had the most assists and won player of the year, despite never showing that kind of form during his time with the national side. Ezra Hobbs too returns, as does Granville, yet to be capped, both having solid seasons with Malham and Kleinestadt. Chirk-on-Ouse will be happy that Barrie Fish is in the side, with the club hoping to get some good money for him after being the stand-out player in a fairly average squad. Former U-21 international Stephen Twyrdy has been called up, with South Bury also looking to sell him on.

Attacking Midfielders
#8 - Max Sainsbury - 26 - North Bury
#11 - Jim Bexley - 30 - Kleinestadt

#16 - Erich Hall - 19 - North Bury
#20 - Samuel Newman - 28 - Malham United

The ever present Bexley returns once again after another consistently good season at Kleinestadt. Bexley has now been in the squad since he was 19, his 11 years beaten only by Stafford in goal. Joining Bexley are three newcomers. Sainsbury and Hall formed an integral part of the North Bury title winning side, coming 2nd and 3rd in the assist chart after Gallatley. Newman also did well last season, supplying most of Kermode's goals from the left wing.

Strikers
#9 - Yann Greenberg - 27 - Am Großen Bruch
#10 - Pherick Kermode - 25 - Malham United

#21 - Severin Fischer - 23 - Inselhauptstadt
#22 - Jake Heffernan - 29 - South Bury

The two striker positions are contested between three very good strikers, and there is likely to be no permanent holders. Kermode has more experience at this level than the others, so will probably be the main starter, although he may give way to. Being the second top scorer and at a good team helps as well. The top goalscorer, Greenberg, will probably rotate with Fischer to give everyone the best playing time, both players selected on basically making the clubs dependent on them, especially Greenberg. Heffernan, while a good striker, is unlikely to feature unless something bad happens.

The Karditan Blue Barons

[Cultural note: Population is 55% Human, 30% intelligent pony (split evenly among earth, unicorn, and pegasus), and 15% etc (intelligent cows, pigs, goats, zebras, llamas, and the like). All races are equal in the eyes of the law.]

[Historical Note: Soccer was illegal pre-WC66, and the team that competed from WC59-65 did so illegally. A civil war occurred during WC66 that had many causes, but was sparked when a mad politician seized power and cracked down on soccer, which had risen to a level of 'intellectual anti-government' pursuit and thus included many major businessmen. As a pseudo-anarcho-capitalist state, this caused quite a stir, and as the crackdown extended to persecuting wide swaths of citizens for their species (acting on ages-old discrimination against those neither human nor pony in nature), citizen militias and private military contractors rose up and threw the madman out of power. Following was an extended reformation period involving negotiations between what prominent businessmen were left and a highly revered political figure from Karditan's past. Now everything is fine and dandy and we're not species-ist anymore; plus soccer is legal! Woo.]

Starting 11 [those with no explicitly stated species are human]

Goalkeeper- Clara Vandergaard. A supermodel-turned-sportswoman, Clara's natural height and limberness made her a natural in the net. It's also a truefact that it's much harder to take a shot with a nosebleed. She has been doing well in keeping Karditan's defensive traditions alive the past few cups.

Left Back- Xavier Helm. A man oddly obsessed with the middle ages, he likes to hunt. With a bow, and sometimes a crossbow. And a longsword. Occasionally a trebuchet. Oh, and in full plate armor. He mostly goes after deer, but it's not odd for him to bag the occasional mountain lion or bear. He plays in his suit of armor, which slows him down (but not as much as might be expected--he's been training in that armor for a long time) but makes him much more intimidating.

Center Back- Porfirio Mendoza. The commissioner of the Karditani Baseball League, Porfirio is a true sportsman who can appreciate any sport. He was the first major public advocate of the legalization of soccer after the government was reformed, greatly helping the effort to bring the good game to the masses. He's also a brilliant strategist, heading up one of the historically best defenses in the world.

Center Back- Dust Pan. [Unicorn] Having spent most of his early life as a property manager (glorified janitor), the recent 'revolution' has allowed Dust Pan to follow his true dreams--becoming a professional soccer player. It's easy to say that he's achieved that dream, as he recently signed a contract to play with the Whitetail Foresters of Equestrian States. He's extremely quick, and knows how to break up a play.

Right Back- Red Trotski. [Earth Pony] An infamous public speaker hailing from Moscolt. Hated pretty much universally for his vocal support of Communism, but there's not really anything anyone can do about that. Karditani free speech laws are pretty lenient. Has been known to make foals cry.

Defensive Midfielder- Havr Milosivek. A freelancer who spends most of his time roaming the streets of Moscolt, Havr is a generally amiable guy who isn't afraid to smash a few sshins if you push his buttons the wrong way. If his Russian accent gets thick enough that you can barely understand what he's saying, you should probably stay away from him; but that doesn't happen too often. Will sometimes have to leave the pitch temporarily to respond to a call from his cousin Roman.

Midfielder- Toby Derringer. Professional skateboarder, amateur punk rocker, part-time midfielder. Toby is what one might call 'rad'. He's a cool cat who doesn't take the business from nobody, and won't pass up the chance to bring up scientific proof that he is awesomer than you are. A bit confrontational, and more than a bit of a showoff, a game where he doesn't start something is a rarity.

Midfielder- Primrose Evergreen. [Pegasus] A gardener by trade and by nature, Primrose is the pinnacle of the good sportsmare. She's very giving with the ball [only to her teammates, of course], and acts as the team's physio, having spent time in nursing school before fully devoting herself to nursing nature. She's not the fastest mare out there, and not that good of a shot, but is excellent at passing and has a habit of being in the right place at the right time. She's currently playing with the Canterlot Stars in Equestrian States.

Forward Midfielder- Sweet Swing. [Earth Pony] The daughter of famous Karditani golfer Tyre McIron, Sweet has been making a name for herself as one of the best midfielders on a mediocre team in the world over the past decade. She's a very dynamic player, being able to fulfill most roles whenever the situation calls for it, and has a tendency to be extremely clutch. Also married to former keeper and current manager, Emanuel Portico.

Forward- Zevaya. [Zebra] The first Zebra to ever be elected to political office in Karditan, there's no doubt her political clout helped get her a spot on the team. That said, a little corruption isn't that bad, as she's pretty good at this sportball business. Not too knowledgeable about the strategies, or even the rules, for that matter, but she does know that the ball needs to go in the net, and is decent at getting it there.

Forward- Xi Mørátüabáterían. Rumored to be the lovechild of a tourist from 95x and a Farf immigrant, little is known of Xi's actual lineage, but one thing is for sure--the kid can kick a ball really well. Given a simple upbringing in a Nozaman orphanage, he was introduced to the game of soccer--or futbol, as they call it down there--at an early age, as the orphanage couldn't afford baseball or gridiron equipment. Years of running around due to a lack of anything better to do has given Xi fantastic agility and ball control skills, but the lack of any sort of professionalism in pre-'revolution' Karditan means he still has a lot to learn about playing on a team, and playing against high-caliber players.

Manager- Emanuel Portico. Without a doubt the face of Karditani soccer, Emanuel led the Robber Barons (the pre-WC66 Karditani team) to their peak in WC63, their first (and so far only) World Cup Qualification, from between the posts. He's starting to get on in age, though, and decided it best to hand off his old spot to a fresher face. Fortunately, with their last manager deported back to Bears Armed, the Barons were in need of a new manager. And that's how we got here. He is also happily married to midfielder Sweet Swing.

Substitutes
Amateurs, really. Played some secret soccer back in the prohibition days, but not very often. They'll have to rely on raw athletic talent to get anything done.

Playing Style

Image

The New Saints will be playing with the most popular Jasminian football style, 'the Bāgh' or 'Tiger' (style modifier +3.75). It is a quick paced style of play which consists of the wingers taking the ball down the sides lightning fast and crossing to a striker or midfield (who preferably has popped out of nowhere) who can then easily put the ball into back of the net.

National Stadium

Image
Orange Blossom Pavilion, Port Louis (45,000)
Finished in 2010 and named after the common flowers often associated with the nation, the home of all national sports teams in the Jasminia Islands is the Orange Blossom Pavilion. Located on the waterfront of the capital, Port Louis, with a capacity of 45,000, it is the largest sports venue in the Jasminia Islands. The stadium is also home to the national rugby and lacrosse teams. It is also one of the most high-tech and well-equipped venues in the region with a fully-retractable roof amongst it's many features. The stadium is famous for its iconic shape and its exterior is able to light up in the colours of the teams playing.

National Anthem and Other Things

The national anthem can be found here. It's fine to call the Jasminia Islands just Jasminia. The 'T' in 'The' doesn't need to be a capital. The demonym is Jasminian. Jasminia in the native language is Chāmeliyā.

The food is safe to eat, and the water is clean, as our Ministry of Health has tight regulations to ensure consumer safety when it comes to what they eat and drink. Most sit in restaurants will offer a menu based off of seafood, although beef and dairy are predominant in the southwest. Spanish food is very popular along the Darmen-Valladares border. Fast-food establishments like McDonalds and Arby's are quite popular, and are usually located in most large cities.

Laws | Losete
For the most part, if you only plan to attend a sporting event, maybe eat at a few restraunts, and do a little sightseeing when not in your hotel room, you will not need to worry about breaking the law. If you plan on doing anything else however, or you believe something that you do regularly may be against the law, you should check ahead of time with the Ministry of Justice as to the legality of the act you may perform. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. A basic explanation of Darmeni Law can be found at the Royal Law Society's website.

Other important questions you may have
Q. Who is this guy in a suit following me?
A. He works for the IG-2, so don't mind him. Just keeping an eye on you foreigners. If you need any help they'll be happy to give it to you. They're nice blokes really.

Q. How do I get a hold of the police?
A. Police stations are usually located in the center of town next to the Town Legislature. By phone, the police can be reached by simply dialing 1.

Q. And the fire department?
A. Dial 2.

Q. I'm bored, what is there to do?
A. Start throwing things at the IG-2 agent, see how he/she reacts. We're sure that's fun.

Q. This guy is asking me to show him my papers? What papers?
A. Upon arrival in Darmen, all foreigners are given ID papers, which last for one week. They're pink, and have "Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration" written at the top in nice big letters.

Q. Do I have to show him my papers?
A. It depends. Look behind you at the IG-2 agent, and if he's nodding his head, then do it. If he's not, duck. Someones about to get shot, and no, it's not you.

Q. So you'd like to move here?
A. Talk to the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.

A roster detailing the members of the
Kiryu-shi National Football Team,
The Kiri (桐),
for competition in the
69th edition of the NationStates World Cup
submitted for the benefit of potential rivals and interested parties.

The Kiryu-shi National Football Team return after an eight year long hiatus from participating in international competition. While the nation underwent political and economic turmoil with a long, student-led strike of a corrupt system that allowed for nepotism, particularly along religious lines, the nation’s stability has returned over the past few years with some significant changes in the structures of governance. During this tumultuous time, youth football was still popular, but advanced development took a severe turn for the worse, and there are very few people in the nation ready to participate in international competition.

Two years ago, as the nation watched a World Cup that Kiryu-shi never even had the opportunity to compete for, a committee was formed to select a manager and leader for the Kiri. Masahiro Miura was selected after an extensive vetting process. Miura, a Professor of History at Sakaino University who specializes in the history of sport, is a charismatic teacher and was previously considered an academic innovator. After working with a group of assistants and specialists for the better part of the past two years, holding try-outs and football camps around the City-State, Miura has created a provisional roster with a clearly defined playing style, with the hope that out of this group of inexperienced teenagers, there will emerge two or three exceptional talents and leaders of the next generation of Kiryu-shi football.

Youth football in Kiryu-shi has recently been dictated by high-scoring teams with a focus on creative group play and quick touches, Miura has developed a scheme that he hopes will highlight the skills of the individual players within Kiryu-shi. The formation is a variant on a 4-4-2 that seeks to maintain possession of the ball on the wings, creating numerical advantages particularly around the corners and sides of an opponent’s box. Miura will utilize a high-tempo attack that is predicated on a lot of movement off the ball, overlapping and generally aggressive running, paired with quick touches on the ball. The center of the pitch may look abandoned as players flock to the touchlines, as Miura is well aware that a game dictated by physical strength in the center of the pitch will be quickly lost by the Kiri. While he tentatively has penciled in a starting eleven, there will be significant room for experimentation as he sees which combinations of players bring about good results and solid play.

The Kiri have traditionally been a fairly strong football squad, qualifying for six consecutive World Cups before faultering in a knock-out playoff in the prelude to World Cup 67 and failing to even put a squad together for World Cup 68. They've had success in other international tournaments in the past, notably winning the 21st edition of the Baptism of Fire and the 24th edition of the Di Bradini Cup. The recent return to secularism has repopularized the sport, and there is optimism surrounding the future of the squad, despite low expectations for an immediate rise to previous good fortunes. The City-State itself is still relatively isolated, and the World Cup Qualifications will be a test to see how well the new governing structure handles a small reopening to the outside world.

Provisional Roster, Starting Eleven

#1 Ryan Yamaguchi - - - Age: 18 GK
One of three goalkeeper’s vying for position to make it to the final eleven, Ryan will get the first shot as the first choice. Showcasing a traditional keeper’s build with long arms and an explosive first step, Ryan is considered to be the best pure shot blocker, but has deficiencies in getting his hands on crosses as well as general positioning. A top caliber athlete, it remains to be seen if he has the mental strength to hold onto his place on the roster.

 #2 Elle Irby - - - Age: 18  CD
Elle is one of the most technically polished players on the squad, and has displayed great ability tracking opponents. She isn’t often exposed in taking on advancing strikers and has superior technique to get her foot on the ball without drawing fouls. Her size isn’t ideal for the position, and her lack of toughness and physicality is a liability. She shows some promise in her ability to move up the pitch while maintaining defensive integrity, picking and choosing her opportunities well.

#3 Lynette Hall - - - Age: 19  CD
Lynette is a competent defender, with solid abilities all around and no particular liabilities. Her major asset, and the reason she is in the top eleven, is her height. She offers some of the only arial ability on the Kiri, and combines her natural height with good instincts in timing jumps, particularly on set pieces. She is a good communicator and maintains her position well.

#4 Belen d'Étaples - - - Age: 19  LD/LWB/LW
One of the most fluid players on the Kiri, Belen can be a lethal presence on the left side, with a propensity for quick, accurate, touches and an imaginative eye for passing. Fairly small, it remains to be seen if she can hold his own against more physical opponents, but she is an asset on the wings, and plays naturally with Coach Miura’s vision. She is perceived to be one of the only locks to make the squad, especially considering her positional versatility and her willingness to track back and defend on the wing.

#5 Ruben Cole - - - Age: 18  RD/RWB
Ruben displays a quiet steadiness at his position. While he isn’t the athlete that one would typically desire on the wing, he has strong instincts and closes on opponents fairly quickly. He has natural talent and an eye for delivering crosses, but doesn’t move forward aggressively often, and is better suited to participating in the build up to an attack.

#6 Sakura Ueno - - - Age: 17  DMF
One of the other two locks to make the team, Sakura can be a difference maker in the midfield and is an on-field assistant for Coach Miura. Her vision in picking out passes is critical when transitioning from defending to attacking, and her ability to track back and join the defense is invaluable for the squad. She plays intelligently, can step around defenders with ease, and has impeccable accuracy in both short and long distance passes. She is known to take a shot from distance from time to time, but her true value lies in her vision of the field and ability to dictate the pace and direction of the Kiri attack.

#7 Leanor Joynor - - - Age: 19  CM/LWB
Leonor has the ability and mindset to be a willing sideline to sideline, box to box midfielder. She has the physicality to impose her will on any given match, but has the tendency to draw whistles and even cards. She can be incredibly aggressive, and her competitiveness can lead her to make bad decisions. Her first touch on the ball can also be suspect, and she’s been known to give up possession too easily due to that lack of control. However, her complete willingness to do whatever it takes to win can make her a useful player, and her workrate is outstanding.

#8 Kazuo Seidel - - - Age: 18  CM/RW/RWB
Kazuo is a thoughtful player who picks out good runs and moves well off the ball. He knows how to manipulate defenders and is quick to find gaps and holes in the defense. His touch on the ball itself is still developing, and he doesn’t have an ability to move with the ball that you ideally want out of an attack-minded player. He can make a difference on a match given defenders who are out of position or teams who are slow to track back to their own box.

#9 Yuuma Burkholder   - - - Age: 17 AM/LW/FW
Yuuma is an aggressive player with quick feet and a strong left-footed shot who is creative both with and without the ball. Yuuma has star potential, but it remains to be seen if he’ll fit in with Coach Miura’s style of play, as he often looks to shoot first and pass second. While his raw talent cannot be denied, he can lose interest in any given match and will disappear for stretches at a time if he is not fed the ball regularly. Being asked to provide service to other players does come naturally only if he has a lot of touches and is allowed to shoot if he has an opportunity.

#10 Timmy Yukimura   - - - Age: 17 FW/RW/LW
Timmy is a true athlete, one of the two fastest players on the pitch and talented with both feet. He doesn’t always manage to control himself or the ball well, though, and needs to learn a lot about his position and maintaining the organization of a team if he is to be relied on in any consistent capability. Timmy is caught offsides more times than he should, and can be knocked off the ball easily. Can run himself out of many matches, and often needs to be taken out before full time.

#11 Kiku Hamasaki   - - - Age: 19 FW
A poacher, Kiku is adept at controlling the ball with various parts of her body and making accurate shots on goal. She has the ability to bounce off of defenders without losing balance, and can pull off shots despite being challenged. She doesn’t offer much in the way of build up play or defensive support, and only possesses average pace. Her strength lies simply in positioning, gathering, and shooting.

Provisional Roster, Bench and Reserve Players

#12 Shiori Crooks   - - - Age: 19 CD/LD/RD
A versatile and aggressive defender, Shiori is a strong tackler who seems to relish contact and physical defending. While prone to making some mistakes with control of the ball, she can be a valuable asset in most aspects of defending, including tracking individual players, marking, and tackling. Can be easily discouraged at times, requires good leadership from her teammates.

#13 Sun Steel   - - - Age: 17 CD
A free spirit in defense, Sun has a strong tendency to wander and break position despite being physically and technically talented. Very confident in his ability to run backward, he will move far up the field without communicating and will look to make runs even with and without the ball at his feet. A capable but unspectacular defender, he can lose his mark and allow people to run by him with slightly worrying frequency. He tends to view himself as a leader on the field, but is often over-aggressive in his positioning and general play.

#14 Hotaru Miyamoto   - - - Age: 18 RD/RWB/CM/RW
Hotaru is a versatile athlete with a high work rate while on the field. He moves very quickly and is willing to stick his nose in while defending, closing space well and never giving up on an opponent. However, he lacks a consistent first touch and can be careless with possession. He displays a pretty cross and a nice job placing passes when asked to pick people out through the air, but isn’t as effective as many of his teammates with quick passes. Only does well on the ball if he isn’t pressured at all.

#15 Melba Francis   - - - Age: 18 LWB/LW/FW
Melba is known for a superb technical ability in attack, and an unwillingness to defend as much as she should. She is quick on the ball, makes smart runs, and has a knack for knowing where people are. She has an impeccable through ball and isn’t flustered in front of the net. She can be a cool finisher as well as key in support. But considering her size, she needs to work hard to prove she can hold up to the physicality of international football, and has a lot to demonstrate in terms of her defending.

#16 Jackie a'Ducézièt   - - - Age: 17 CM/AM/FW
Jackie can be a spectacular central attacking player, with the touch, pace, and athleticism that one wants in a player charged with finding ways to create goal scoring opportunities. However, she struggles with the creativity and vision that Coach Miura looks for in attacking positions, as she will regularly make individual runs and movement that don’t coincide with what her teammates are working toward. She has a propensity to be a moment late with her passes, not being fully aware of the movement of players’ around her, which can hurt her efficacy. Her raw talent should earn her copious opportunities to develop into a more well-rounded player, but it remains to be seen how she will develop within the Kiri system.

#17 Atsushi Morris   - - - Age: 19 CM
A vocal leader, Atsushi may struggle with a role as a reserve, as he is used to being in leadership positions on the pitch. Atsushi doesn’t have the athletic ability or tools to ever develop into a premium player, as he has a thick body that struggles to make quick turns and movement, but also has never displayed the strength that one would associate with that bulky frame. He is at his best when he is able to survey the field and dictate the motion of his teammates, and his accuracy with passes is on par with Coach Miura’s expectations. He works hard, but just doesn’t have the pace to cover much ground, the reflexes to be effective in tight situations, or the strength to impose his body in the middle of the pitch.

#18 Stephanie Ito   - - - Age: 18 FW/AM
Stepahanie earned her invitation on the basis of her right leg, with which she has displayed incredible dangerous dead-ball ability. Her tendency to create an immediate threat to score on practically any set piece means that she may be valuable in any given match, but her play in the open field doesn’t provide a fraction of that same magic. She will consistently move to her right, as her left leg is effectively useless, and her movements and intentions tend to be easily diagnosed and defended.

#19 Kathy McKenzie   - - - Age: 16 FW
Kathy is a spry, agile forward who plays in a slightly out of control, frenzied manner. She doesn’t have proper form when doing most things on the pitch, but her agility and awareness can create entertaining goals at a moment’s notice. She can contort her body in bizarre ways, and her goals, when she does score, will often attract a lot of attention. She is inconsistent at most other aspects of the game, however, and will typically only be used in situations in which the team is desperate to score.

#20 Kenny Hanson   - - - Age: 16 RW/LW
Kenny is a pure projection player. Already the fastest sprinter on the team, he has devastating natural athleticism and the ability to wreck havoc on the field from either wing. But he doesn’t yet have the control on the ball and vision that Coach Miura so desperately wants to cultivate on this squad, so will likely be used sparingly. He has demonstrated some willingness to defend, but his general lack of technical ability in that area leads to a fair amount of fouls being called against him. On the attacking side, that speed and his quick feet mean that defenders are often forced to tug or trip to keep him from blazing past them. He has the occasional flash of a powerful shot from both sides, but hasn’t displayed an ability to control the pace of the ball that well; his crosses tend to drift past the far side of the net.

#21 Katashi Romero   - - - Age: 19 GK
Katashi is a cerebral, heady keeper respected by his teammates for his willingness to integrate himself as part of the defense. When on the field, he talks constantly, alternating between yelling at teammates to get in position or cheer teammates on. An unrelentingly positive personality, he is hugely popular on the squad. His willingness and ability to fly around the penalty area gathering crosses and closing down on attackers is also appreciated. However, with his solid build and relatively short stature, he clearly doesn’t have the ideal shot blocking body or skill that one would want in a keeper.

#22 Jonathan Francis   - - - Age: 17 CD/RD/LD/DMF
Jonathan is a versatile but unspectacular defender who relies on speed to close down on opponents but tends to have little regard for much besides the individual battler he is currently engaged in. He is most effective when tasked with a single responsibility to shadow throughout an entire match, which allows him to ignore positional responsibilities in favor of tracking a solitary opponent. His unwillingness to integrate his play with the rest of the team has hampered his development thus far, and he has a lot to prove to make it onto the final roster.

#23 Luther Collins   - - - Age: 17 CD/RD/LD
Luther is precocious defender who relishes one on one opportunities and hassling opponents. He is relatively small in size, but loves to throw his body around and generally annoy and frustrate attacking players. He is a firm believer in his ability to win the mental game of defending, and will make full use of anything he can to cause opponents to make mistakes. Luther is positionally well aware, and brings an energy to the defense if at his best. He can be inconsistent, however, and is prone to missing tackles and causing defensive breakdowns. More effective in the center, but less of a potential liability on the sides.

#24 Jed Mizushima   - - - Age: 18 CD
Although unspectacular in most measurable aspects of play, Jed demonstrates a tremendous ability to be in the right place at the right time, getting his body in the way of balls headed toward the back of the net, or standing in just the right place to ensure attackers don’t have a free run. It remains to be seen whether this ability comes as a result of a subconscious awareness of the likely outcomes of opponents’ movements or just dumb luck.

#25 Alonzo Glover   - - - Age: 16 DMF/RWB
A promising young player as a deep-lying playmaker, Alonzo has lightening quick feet and the decision making skills to match. He is always looking to push the ball up the field and pick out teammates’ runs. His size, however, has relegated him to a developmental role as he is still easily pushed off the ball, particularly when he is aggressive and tries to create for himself. He has demonstrated a certain tenacity in defense, but again, his lack of size and strength will hurt if he is asked to put in 90 minutes against most international sides.

#26 Lon Hendrickson   - - - Age: 19 RWB/RW/FW
Lon is a composed player on and off the ball, with a quiet demeanor and a calm temperament. He hasn’t shown too much in terms of playmaking ability, but consistently keeps his head up looking for passes and opportunities to free teammates on runs. He doesn’t have great touch, nor can he thread passes through defenders, but he is aware of his shortcomings and won’t make too many mistakes. He has some stamina and fitness issues, and will likely only be used as a substitute.

#27 Samuel Briggs   - - - Age: 17 DMF/CMF/AMF
Samuel is a lanky, large, enthusiastic midfielder who unfortunately sabotages his effectiveness with his tendency to drift and lose sight of the match as a whole. He is at his best when used as a target man, controlling the ball with his head or torso for other players to play off of, but doesn’t fit too well within Coach Miura’s squad. He’s slow to find players to pass to and isn’t particularly effective with accuracy on anything over ten or fifteen yards. Has a knack finding the ball on corners, both attacking and defending.

#28 Sherry Burke   - - - Age: 16 FW/AMF
Sherry is small and quick, another player clearly chosen for her ability to move well and pick out passes moving forward. She is at her best playing centrally, prodding and testing defenses and finding ambitious passes. She has a nose for the goal, and can fly around the opposing box being a general nuisance for the defenders. She’s enough to be difficult to mark, and prides herself on her one touch passing. She isn’t particularly skilled when taking on defenders on her own, she needs the movement of teammates to be at all effective. Too small and physically undeveloped to play a full 90 at this point in her career.

#29 Ed Fujioka   - - - Age: 16 FW/RW/LW
With physical attributes difficult to ignore but no obvious role in Coach Miura’s current formation, Ed doesn’t seem likely to find the pitch very often. While he has displayed tantalizing ability to control the ball, particularly in the air, he has yet to develop any real ability to work well within a team attack, focusing on solo endeavors. While gifted, he isn’t flashy enough to impose his will upon a game, and doesn’t have that finishing touch. Even if he plays well enough to find numerous chances to score, he has a frustrating tendency to sky the ball or lose focus and let a defender or keeper come too close and close his angles out.

#30 Brice Tachibana   - - - Age: 16 GK
Brice is a talented and aggressive keeper, with only a couple glaring holes in his game. He is almost completely unable to track and handle crosses, and doesn’t yet have the physicality to deal with some aspects of being a top-flight keeper. He is a decent shot-stopper, though, with good instincts and great length in his arms and legs. Is slightly slow getting down to block shots, but doesn’t spill the ball if he ever gets two hands on it.

Kiryu-shi home matches will be played in the Sakaino National Football Stadium, the crowned jewel of the Kiryu-shi National Football Program. Although it is no longer as new as it once was, it is still by far the most developed stadium in the nation and is located in the University most known for its commitment to football. The stadium is completely energy-neutral, highlighted by a solar panel ‘halo’ above the stadium that provides for it’s own power as well as power for some of the buildings around the Sakaino University Campus. It seats 74,500 spectators, although is typically far under capacity.

Well you should, biatch! ... you might find it useful.

I suppose a quick reference guide couldn't hurt though for those looking for a quick reminder ...

Usual First Team
GK: #0 - P. Darllyng
LB: #10 - J. Knyght
CB: #15 - S. Cowperthwayte
CB: #12 - B. deBoeloe III
RB: #17 - L. Meodu

CF: #31 - K. y'Aetheklyffe (c)

Most likely to score: Feliks-Oskar Pfyffydghoerraks
Most likely to score from distance: Jeoffrey Haezsus or Jamez Knyght
Set Pieces usually taken by: Ecghaevier Quykfut or Jamez Knyght
Most likely to be a super-sub: Yu Kimykoe Oon or Kyn Fyllisbourogher

Most likely to get injured: Teks Powres
Most likely to do something daft: Percie Darllyng

Style Modifier: -2 (but for RP purposes, it should be -5)
RP Permissions: Same as yours. Whatever you allow is what I allow. I do ask for no deaths/career-enders without my TG confirmations thankyoukindly ...

A Few RP Notes
The team is supposed to play a very defensive style of football much akin to Mukalo Rotanapai's previous ventures with the Paradystopi team. However, the team still endeavours to push forward far more often than it should and it's stressing the Vaian manager out.
As for the team, the individual descriptions should give you a greater idea of the players characters and style than this little box could. Most of the team play in a normal human way but there is that one exception ...

That darn cat. (I say cat, he's more similar to a large lynx)

OOCly, I view Feliks-Oskar Pfyffydghoerraks (Also known as 'Foskar') as a love-child of Lionel Messi and Puss in Boots from the Shrek films who was trained in the way of the force by Neymar, the dark side by Luis Suarez and a little extra from Diego Maradona. The gaps in his personality can be filled by the fact he's a typical feline with superiority-complex. He's a truly epic player when the mood takes him, so if you'd rather not RP this character simply have him refuse to play for whatever reason (something stupid works better for me) and fill his slot with another squad member.

People are welcome to alter my line-up (providing, of course, that your RP, and therefore my RP permissions allow it). If you do, just make sure you state my teamsheet in your RP so I know.

Kittes provyded by kyndlie curtessie ov 'Kirola', Ouwdyoeslaevye

Although the black strip is Paradystopia's official 'home' kit, the team will play in the pink away strip as often as they can. The rumour is that superstitious Mukalo Rotanapai has come to the conclusion the team's overall results are better when the 'away' kit is used. Therefore the team will generally play in pink.
(It has been nearly six months now ... we think. Time and suchlike aren't particularly well quantified here. Anyway, circa six months have passed since the adoption of a new national language, or at least, writing. Why the decision was made, no one really knows and such explanations as 'it looks more quirky than the older version' don't really account for the sheer administrative task of translating everything official into the 'newe verzsyon'. Also, the fact that this 'supposedly' standardised language is so riddled with inconsistencies has resulted in the most lengthy of tedious discussions over the most insignificant of points ...
Others suggest that this was the point, to attempt to stimulate a stagnant economy by creating numerous jobs, albeit for zero purpose and likely to result in even more economic troubles ...
Other others are simply spending their time creating new idiomatic insults. For example; Yow Pustewlentte Ars (You dirty bottom), Fokkres y’Swyne (Pig lover) and Bluddye Kuntbelch (… err … yeah, that one …)

Image
Mannagre: Mukalo Rotanapai (Moukaalloe Rotenapyye)
After winning the post in an ill-conceived reality TV show during the eighth Campionato Esportiva, Mukalo has completely revamped the national side bringing in a lot of young players and completely overhauling the tactics. The 54 year old Vaian has 19 years’ experience in the top flight of Vaian football. 11 of those with Wakita United with whom he achieved 3 league titles. It is hoped he can follow up his recent successes with the Paradystopi team, building upon two consecutive third place finishes in the Campionato Esportiva and the nation's first ever qualification to the World Cup Finals where they lost in the round of sixteen to the eventual winners.
Image
Assistant Manager: Chessteyr Katte
Mukalo's assistant was a fellow competitor on the aforementioned show. However, during the filming, the pair struck up a strong friendship and the rest as they say, is history. Hailing from the small Paradystopi colony of Mousebane Islet, Chessteyr was previously manager and captain of the team Scratchpost Hillock.
With the international retirement of Kjn Volgjsrhaad, there was much talk about the future of the national side. Who was to lead the team now after the departure of such an influential figure and how would this affect the team in their quest to better their achievements in the previous World Cup. In a bizarre move, an entirely new squad was selected under the direction of Chessteyr Katte who had been working extensively with a young team of unattached players, building up the necessary chemistry to give a good basis for the future. With the exception of Feliks-Oskar Pfyffydghoerraks, none of the players as yet play for any domestic teams* and there is much interest in the FLOPC with regards to Chessteyr's choices and the domestic future of these players. International offers are also anticipated for this new brood of Paradystopi footballers. Also, the only current player with any international experience is Feliks-Oskar Pfyffydgoerraks who serves as somewhat of a lynchpin for the team in a central defensive role. Despite Chessteyr's wishes, Mukalo refuses to have the mercurial half-Mousebaneska player as captain as he's hard enough to control as it is without giving him an authoritative role. ...

Golekeypres

Percie Darllyng #0
- Tawrpeydoe Psuggaddagga Image
– age 20
Unlike his towering predecessor, Percie is only a meagre six feet and four inches but what he lacks in abnormal height, he makes up for in acrobatic leaps and a solid positional awareness. He's all too happy to challenge oncoming attackers with a timed-charge as he's fairly capable with his feet. The one downfall of this very capable young keeper is his flair. A shot parried with a flamboyant dive which could and should’ve been caught as he plays to the photographers. If he can keep his confidence in check, he’s potentially unbeatable.
Leyton Jakkanourrie #1
- Norton y'Myren Image
– age 20
Leyton is a safe pair of hands. Some might say too safe. He's a solid shot-stopper, strong and commanding in the area but reluctant to venture beyond the limits of his six yard box. Leyton's still slightly weak in one-on-one situations but improving all the time. Some believe he will eventually overgrow Darllyng but as yet he occupies the second keeper shirt. Penalties are a bit of a speciality for him and there’s a chance he could find himself brought on towards the end of extra time if the game looks like a stalemate.
Yvellynn Gousse #2
- Kolperryskonyfe Aethletik Image
– age 17 – F
Young Yvellynn is the wild-card choice of keeper and although it’s unlikely she’ll get much time on the field unless in the event of an injury, she’s a trust-worthy pair of hands who revels in ordering the defence about. Her acuity to potential threats and domineering voice means that she can effectively lock down the defence and simply gather up whatever balls and speculative shots creep through.

Defens

Jamez Knyght #10
- Norton y'Myren Image
– LWB/LB – age 19
A forward thinking defender, Jamez would be just as happy playing as a striker as he’s possibly too willing to go for those long shots in an attempt to bag that epic goal. Nevertheless, his tackling abilities are not to be found wanting. Neither, for that matter, are his shooting skills. His weakness is his preference to run with the ball when a pass would have been the more sensible choice. Quick and skilful, Jamez can be a deadly counter-attacker.
Morgan Fallefest #11
- Dynamoe Sabryke Image
– LB/CB – age 20
The more defensive choice at LB, Morgan’s big and strong and can safely block the opponent’s difficult attacking wingers from making trouble in the box. Can be a little forceful in his challenges and sometimes falls foul of the more ‘dramatically inclined’ attacker as his bulky size allows for something to run into and subsequently bounce off. Morgan is strong with his head and can be a useful player for corners at both ends of the pitch.
Boeloe deBoeloe the’thirdde #12
- Slask Pruczniwczo Image
- CB – age 18
Grandson of one of Kinshish’s reknown past players, Boeloe is most accurately described in the modern parlance as a ‘Brikke Shytouse’. Like his grandfather and father before him, he is not one to shy away from a challenge or any altercation and his mantra is ‘dispossess opponent, then worry about the state of aforementioned opponent’s legs and/or the colour of the forthcoming card’. Brutish, but effective.
Noghs Brant-Moudie #13
- Blakked Starre y'Quygge Image
– CB – age 16
Noghs is another brawling centre-back. He’s big, strong and unashamedly aggressive. In addition to this, he’s the owner of loud mouth with a rather obnoxious tongue which has all the subtly of a lullaby played by ten thousand amateur bagpipers. Not afraid to speak his mind to anyone, he’s a disciplinary action waiting to happen. To him, the referee invariably is a ‘wankre’, a ‘nobbed’ and requires the use of spectacles.
Meyri Brant-Moudie #14
- Blakked Starre y'Quygge Image
– CB - age 19 – F
Older sister to Noghs, Meyri also possesses her sibling’s charm, grace and tact. Like him, she’s also a powerful bruiser of a defender.
Suellen Cowperthwayte #15
- Adyhsar Agkademykes Image
– CB - age 20 – F
Suellen is the defensive leader, co-ordinating the back four and more often than not, rectifying the mistakes of her colleagues. Technically skilful and with a talent for predicting opposing attackers. She is the glue which holds the defence together.
Wilf Somers #16
- Halholzer United Image
– RB/CB/CDM/RCM - age 19
Wilf is a skilful little player, an accurate tackler and not afraid to push forward if needed. Due to his varied abilities, he’s capable anywhere on the pitch though a little more specialised in the defensive side of things. Most frequently used as a substitute because of this ability to fill in any gap. His versatility is his biggest strength.
Luthvyk Meodu #17
- Jottnar Kallsmudden Image
- RB/CB – age 19
Luthvyk generally finds himself much more at home in a central defensive role. He’s a reliable tackler with good tactical acuity but it’s his pace which has earned him a first team placing out on the flank. His swift turn of pace means that providing he has space, he’ll push forward on the wing then either feed the ball onto the winger ahead of him or switch the play to the left. Although he’s beginning to build confidence in this role, he’s reluctant to attempt to challenge players and more often than not will look to pass on possession to someone else so as not to jeopardise his defensive duties.
Barrie Raebourne #18
- ðe Artyssanes Image
– RWB/RB/RM/RW - age 16
Apparently a defender, Barrie is actually happy anywhere out wide. This is partly due to the fact he’s actually handicapped and is missing his left foot. He uses a specially made prosthetic blade so his movement is scarcely hindered but obviously, he’s infinitely more capable when the ball is at his right foot. Another advantage is that often the opposition are tentative about tackling him due to the possibility of coming off worse should they collide with his prosthetic foot.

Myddulfelddres

Feliks-Oskar Pfyffydghoerraks #20
- Viztourzys Kolektyvinis Image
- CDM (et al.) – age 5
There are many words thrown about the place to describe ’Foskar’, as he is sometimes known. Incredible, disgraceful, unbelievable, rebellious, incredible, adoorwwabuww, incredible and ‘cat?’ are but a few. The Mousebaneska has Paradystopi citizenship after an unfortunate mix-up at customs lead to his being mistaken for someone’s pet. Typically, like any Mousebaneska would, he never bothered to rectify the error. An exceptional player, even without the advantage of posing somewhat of an intimidation by being a large lynx with a rumoured, but never actually proven, history of biting. On a good day, he’ll rip apart any defence, usually just metaphorically. On a bad day, he’ll go for a nap at the corner flag or back of the goal mouth, promptly be subbed off and then waste time as efforts are made to make him exit the pitch. He’s often good at avoiding too many suspensions for most of his actions by playing cute and stupid. Underneath, he’s a lazy but dedicated sociopath. Incredible player and/but a cat.
Normanya Verriethayre #21
- Kolperryskonyfe Aethletik Image
– CDM/CM/CB – age 17 – F
Normanya is the defensive alternative to Feliks-Oskar and should she play, will often fall back as another central defender when fighting to maintain a lead. Stable and solid, she’s a very decent holding midfielder.
Kyn Fyllisbourogher #22
- Blakked Starre y'Quygge Image
– LM – age 18
Wide midfielder Kyn, despite lacking the natural talents of many of his counterparts makes up for this with a steely dedication. Thoroughly passionate, his vigour is unmatched by any other squad member. Always the first to arrive at training at the last to leave and just as happy to play thirty seconds as a full ninety minutes. A ruthlessly eager impact sub.
Jeoffrey Haezsus #23
- Bellight FC Image
– LM/LAM - age 19
Jeoffrey is a talented midfielder. Pacey, skilful and owner of an accurate cross. He’s also seldom afraid to try a long shot and has buried a few pearlers on the training pitch. Unfortunately, he also possesses a definite inclination to gamesmanship. Despite been given stern warnings by Mukalo on the subject of diving and play-acting (Chessteyr doesn’t see what the big deal is …), his underlying talent is what keeps him in the first eleven.
Bellofona Whalmsye #24
- The Ables and The Ordinarys Image
- CM/LCM – age 20 – F
The running joke around the squad is that Bellofona only became a footballer because of the pink kit. It is true that she typifies the term ‘girly girl’ and has on occasion arrived late for training because she couldn’t bear to leave her house without first adhering to her strict beautification regimen. As a midfielder, she is agile and quick-witted, adept at maintaining possession without having to resort to ‘dirty boyish football’ (i.e. overtly physical play). A little ditzy at times but much loved by all for her incessant optimism.
Ecghaevier Quykfut #25
- Edwardton Eagles Image
– CM/CAM – age 18
Ecghaevier is a strong figure in the central midfield, an excellent supporting player and dangerous with his head. A brilliant passer of the ball and tactically clever. This combined with a stinging long range shot means he is often the set-piece taker for the team from which he gets most of his goals and assists.
Adeyla Grene #26
- The Ables and The Ordinarys Image
– CM – age 21 – F
Adeyla is firstly a playmaker who can more often than not make the right pass at the right time. She’s also good at maintaining the team’s structure and form by constantly busying herself about the pitch to ensure the formation remains intact. Sometimes misunderstood as a bitchy control freak for getting frustrated with the players who see formations as more fluid entities or needless obstacles to their personal style of play, she only has the best for the team at heart.
Eeanne Fyr #27
- The Ables and The Ordinarys Image
– RM/CM - age 18 – F
A meticulous perfectionist, Eeanne often drives herself to distraction trying to master various techniques and skill. On the whole, she’s a very good all-round player but she refuses to accept when she’s simply having a bad day. When she’s playing badly, her almost obsessive compulsive nature will compound her errors and lower her standard to that of your average pond algae. Despite her natural ability, her psyche can make her a liability.
Teks Powres #28
- The Sea-Pteronurians Alliance Image
- RW/RAM – age 20
Teks is a curious chap, some may say a little odd in the head whilst others consider him merely a quiet and contemplative genius. A splendid dribbler who makes good runs off the ball too. His introverted personality often clashes with some of the other team members who bully him somewhat into being a faceless drone, taking a back seat in their personal quests for glory/notoriety. In truth, he is potentially one of the best players in the squad and it is hoped by the management that once he finds his confidence he’ll blossom into a superstar.
Aghmed Gupta #29
- Dwellynges o'th Lordes Image
– CAM/CM/CF - age 20
The tallest member of the squad, one might think that Aghmed should be a goalkeeper but he already knew at what position he wanted to play football even before the freakish growth spurts gave him the stature he possesses today. His speciality lies in aiding a long ball style of play whereby he can outreach opposing defenders to supply counterattacks with his head. When the ball’s at his feet, he’s slightly cumbersome and lacks the finesse of his colleagues but once the ball leaves the ground, it’s firmly in his territory.

Strykres

Jillye deGhoembung #30
- Dwellynges o'th Lordes Image
– CF/LW/RW – age 17 – F
Jillye is a versatile forward, capable of playing a supporting role upon the wing as well as a goal threat in the centre. Strong and aggressive, she will fight and press for possession regardless of where she is on the pitch.
Kaen y’Aetheklyffe #31
- Adyhsar Agkademykes Image
– CF/STR - age 19 – capt.
Kaen is a rather conservative forward. Though his ability is seldom questioned and a mature head has earned him the captain’s armband, his skills lie better within the realms of a playmaker. Also, the pressure to hold back his fiery young team in keeping with Mukalo’s defensive strategies means that Kaen is unlikely to grace the score-sheet as often as you’d expect of a lone striker. Nevertheless, he is a respected figure in the squad, known for his high work-rate and admired for his inch-perfect through balls. Reliable and sensible, if maybe a little too sensible sometimes.
Yu Kimykoe Uun #32
- Trinity Saints Image
– STR - age 18 – F
Yu is everything a striker needs to be and possibly more. Very quick, an accurate and powerful shooter and insatiably goal-hungry. Her shortcomings consist of more-or-less everything else. She has zero desire to do anything remotely related to defence and is often selfish with chances, trying to go alone when an easy pass could secure a goal. Usually only used as an impact sub to give y’Aetheklyffe another player to feed in the opposition box (where she will invariably be …).

Formatsioun ande Tactickes

Style Modifier: -2 (RP it as an aggressive -5. Makes no sense? ... What else did you expect from me?)
The formation should be a defensively solid 4-1-4-1 though it's much more fluid than that and not by the want of the manager. It could easily morph into a 2-3-6, a 4-4-2, a 5-5-0 based on the whims of individual players. The team should also adopt a style of slow build-up play and the maintaining of possession, interspersed with the occasional rapid counter-attack. However, these aggressive attacks occur much more frequently than they should and can often leave the defense much more fragile than it should be. Basically, more or less anything could happen in a Paradystopi match.

Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

Valladares' usual formation is a 3-2-2-3 (or 3-4-3 for general reference), which can turn into either a very aggressive yet non-conventional 3-2-5 for attacking or a 5-4-1 (a 3-6-1, even) when the team feel the need to enter into a defensive mode. La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue. This squad mostly relies on the speed of both Rubén Morantes and Juan Pablo Reyes on the wings both in attack and in defense modes, with defensive midfielders Iván Coupet and Pedro Pedretti being able to retreat to the defensive line with ease whenever the team lose ball possession in order to form a line of 5 defenders, thus giving rival forwards a very hard time when trying to break through the Valladar defense. The 3 forwards are also very speedy and talented but most of all, dangerous: they can turn seemingly harmless crosses into goals, create chances and score goals out of nothing, and kill defenses with speed and lethal counterattacks.

Style Modifier: +3

Stadium:

Dragon Stadium, Canalave (Capacity: 50,987)

For this qualifying cycle, the Valladar Football Association has decided to choose Dragon Stadium as the official host stadium for all the qualifying matches to be played by the Valladar national football team on Valladar soil. Canalave, located to the northwest of the Valladar "mainland" on the banks of the Danube river, is known for its medieval alleys and water channels as well as its hot (sunny) and humid climate, with temperatures averaging from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius (89.6-93.2°F) at the time all matches are going to be scheduled: 3 pm.

This stadium, also known as the "Dragon's Den" is also renowned for its hostile (to away teams and fans) environment, which added to the city's own weather conditions make Dragon Stadium a very difficult place to play at for visiting teams. The Valladar national football team will be looking to take advantage of these factors to ensure no rival will be able to get even a single point at Valladares without making an enormous physical effort.

OOC: For fair RP bonus attribution, most of the characters included on this roster are from the Doctor Who TV Series (and from a couple of Dr. Who books) and are either real, as in play a part in the series, or just random variations but from the species listed in Dr. Who. Some names will come from the members' list of this thread. For more background info, most of the species should be found on Wikipedia; except for Lazarus, for which you need to search for 'The Lazarus Experiment'. For the Raxacoricofallapatorians, search Slitheen. For Silurian, see 'Cold Blood' or 'The Hungry Earth' (followed by Doctor Who if necessary). For Rory, search 'The Pandorica Opens'.

Manager: Rassilon (Species: Time Lord; the first Lord President of Gallifrey, Rassilon created the Eye of Harmony, which gave the Time Lords their time travelling ability. All in all, he became the foundation of Gallifrey, although that may all be just public relations. He had discovered the secret to immortality, but was deposed by rebellious Time Lords, before going into an eternal sleep in the Tomb of Rassilon, located in the Death Zone. Late on in the Time War, he was seemingly brought back to direct the war efforts, but as he was willing to destroy the Time Vortex and thus the whole of creation [in the Whoniverse, if not all universes], to win the Time War, the Doctor time-locked him and the whole of Gallifrey.)
Assistant Manager: Adam Loftus (Normal human, aged 73; returned to the national team after a break of a few World Cups, but has basically been the behind the many managers there have been since the creation of the team back in World Cup 49 [OOC: a bit like Stuart Pearce of England].)
Coach: Sameer Ahmad (Normal human, aged 54; is the older brother of Shabeen, and also has one of the higher goal counts, but has been much eclipsed by his brother's success.)
Coach and Team blogger:Shabeen Ahmad III (Normal Human, aged 52; has scored over 200 goals for the EL national team, and is still an inspiration to everyone, nearly taking the team to the playoffs in World Cup 58, which has his first foray into full management.)

This team were all taken out of their respective time-lines by Time Scoop technology, so where some may be dead by this time, they are alive at this point in space-time. And it was the ELFA who did this, with the help of its inventor, Rassilon.

Goalkeepers:

Blon Fel-Fotch Pasameer-Day Slitheen: Species: Raxacoricofallapatorian (family: Slitheen); refer to as Blon. Was caught impersonating MI5's Margaret Blaine in 2005 (Earth time), where she and her family members were planning to instigate World War III and turn the planet into fissile material, ready to sell. With the plan destroyed by a well-timed Harpoon missile, she managed to escape, but was the only one. She then went on to become Mayor of Cardiff, using a nuclear plant and the Cardiff Rift to attempt to escape. She did, but in doing so regressed into an egg, and was delivered to the hatcheries on Raxacoricofallpatorius for a second chance at life.

The Abzorbaloff: Species: Unknown, but related to Raxacoricofallapatorians (albeit despising them); Originating from Raxacoricofallapatorius' twin planet, Clom, this particular one came to Earth and tricked a group of humans who were searching for the Doctor to join him, but eventually absorbing them all to satisfy his hunger.

Outfielders (Basically, this lot can play anywhere on the pitch apart from in goal):

Strax: He was a Commander for the Sontaran Military, but was disgraced for an unknown reason, and then was forced to become a nurse by the Doctor, to settle a debt. Has since become a member of the Doctor's Victorian London detective team.

Reaper: Species: Reaper; Flying bat-like creatures with scythe-like tails, the Reapers are extradimensional beings, who have the ability to materialise in normal spacetime when a paradox occurs, devouring everything in the area to repair the damage. They can be stopped by material barriers, the older the better, but not permanently, and a paradox on the other side of the barrier will let them through quicker.

Madame Vastra: species: Silurian; Is another of the people who the Doctor a debt, in this case, it is for saving her from a life of crime and hiding out in the early London underground, and she in turn became a veiled Victorian detective. Part of the Doctor's Victorian detective team.

Creet: species: Toclofane/Human (from the year 100 trillion and reduced to live inside metal balls); With the universe on the brink of ending, a group of humans were building a means of escape to "Utopia". With the help of the Doctor, they managed to do so, but only found darkness, and then they cannibalised themselves into this shape. This particular one was a young boy who worked in the sanctuary.

The Doctor: species: Time Lord, age: last confirmed to be 1103 (although he doesn't really know himself). Words cannot describe this man's life, but as for football, he's had "plenty" of experience, having played a match for the King's Arm Pub League Football team and scoring more than two hat-tricks in that single match (and now World Cups 59 through 62 alongside Copa Rushmoris and Cups of Harmony). Plays mainly up front.

Captain Jack Harkness: species: unknown (very humanoid though); Jack grew up on the Boeshane Peninsula as a kid and joined the Time Agency, but quit after a few years, becoming a con man with a Vortex Manipulator (basic time travel). After meeting the Doctor during the Blitz, Jack dies on Satellite 5 in the year 200,000, but is then brought back to life by the Time Vortex, effectively becoming immortal.

Rory the Plastic Centurion: species: Auton, created by the Nestene Consciousness; refer to as Rory; Dressed up in full Roman armour, Rory has had a miserable past, one that has included being killed, followed shortly after by not being born, followed by becoming a plastic duplicate with a full human consciousness. However, he is rather hardened by all this, and also has a gun in his right hand which he won't use, but will still throw himself into anything nothing less than fully committed.

Raston Warrior Robot: species: None, it is a machine; This robot has been called 'the most perfect killing machine ever devised', being able to move faster than lightning and to kill a troop of Cybermen in seconds. Its face is featureless, and its weapons are collapsible and miniaturizable, and so concealed. For the purposes of this campaign, its weapons have been remotely disarmed, but it still moves faster than normal humans can see.

Pyrovile: species Pyrovile; A humanoid being made of pure magma and volcanic rock, Pyroviles are vicious (albeit quite slow), not to mention being about 5 times the height of average humans when fully grown. Pyroviles originated from the planet Pyrovilia, but crash landed on Earth after their home was lost. They grew in the bowels of Mount Vesuvius, giving some of the locals the power of soothsaying. They planned to convert the entire human race to Pyroviles, and in turn create a new Pyrovilia. As a consequence of his magma nature, all match balls will be lined with lead to prevent them from bursting.

Jenny: species: Human/Time Lord hybrid; The Doctor was taken by the TARDIS to Messaline, where a war was raging between humans and fish-like humanoids called Hath. The Doctor then had his hand put into a progenation machine, used to produce clones for the war, and out came Jenny. She was later on killed by a commander who refused to accept the ceasefire, but then came back to life, having died in the presence of a terraforming device. She was last seen blasting off in the rocket, looking for adventure, and now she's here.

Modified Weeping Angel: species: Weeping Angel; modifications: only becomes a statue when opposition player with the ball is looking at it; No information known as of yet.

Professor Lazarus: Species: Severely mutated human (completely not humanoid at times), refer to as Lazarus; Professor Lazarus was eighty-odd years old, but invented a machine which could manipulate a person's DNA and make them younger. The first demonstration nearly catastrophically fails, but Lazarus emerges much younger. However, his DNA was since found to be unstable, and it showed when Lazarus changed into a scorpion-like creature that drained the life energy of other humans in order to keep him young.

Dalek Sec: Species: Human Dalek (Dalek that has taken on a humanoid form); After the Battle of Canary Wharf, the Cult of Skaro, now armed with the knowledge that they were the last Daleks in existence, escaped to 1930's New York, where they planned to recreate themselves in a humanoid form, by merging symbiotically with kidnapped humans deemed to be of superior intelligence. The leader of the cult, Dalek Sec, was the first to do so, merging with the businessman behind the building of the Empire State Building to form a Human Dalek. The remaining pure Daleks stopped the program upon seeing a Sec having emotions.

Silent: species: The Silence; The Silence is a religious order that believes that Silence will fall when the first question, the oldest question in the universe, is put to the Doctor, on the fields of Trenzelor, where no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer. They attempted to bring down the Doctor through an abducted part Time Lord child (no relation to the Doctor), and kill him in a still point, thus creating a fixed point. But they failed.

Captain Tybo: Species: Judoon; refer to as Tybo; Is a Juddoon captain who crashed on Earth whilst transporting the Juddoon's most wanted criminal, Androvax the Destroyer, wanted for 12 counts of planetary destruction.

Vashta Nerada swarm: species: Vashta Nerada; The are microscopic organisms, which when swarming are completely indistinguishable from shadows, and being highly carnivorous, this plays into their hands. These Vashta Nerada number about 3,000,000, but are compacted into a humanoid form, for fairness. After a Kinitar player had his leg chewed off, the vashta nerada that played in that cup have been swapped for a vegetarian and pescetarian swarm (so fish people/giant vegetables beware).

Home stadium: Lodger City Memorial Stadium (cap. 150,000)
The national stadium of Eastfield Lodge since it was built relatively recently, it was built on the ruins of the old Lodger City, the former capital of Eastfield Lodge which was completely devastated by a nuclear disaster and floods within minutes of each other. It stands as a symbol of a new life, now even more prevalent after a horrible civil war and what not. But the new city has now become the footballing capital of Eastfield Lodge after some of the biggest teams moved in after Dillvill declared independence.

Because I can't be bothered to make a factbook, information about Eastfield Lodge can be found here, although some of it will be out of date. Including the facts that Dillvill declared independence and went back to normal reality, as did half the country's empire. And the fact that the only link to us is a small island somewhere in the northeastern part of Rushmore. Any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Federatione Calcio di Venalzio/Venalzio Football Federation

Announces the 23 man squad for World Cup 69 Qualification

''It is my pleasure to stand here once again with Mr. Luigi Pisani, manager of the Venalzio squad at the upcoming World Cup qualification. My name is Giorgio Di Maria, and we are here once again to announce the 23 man squad for the World Cup Qualification tournament.''

''Thank you, Mr. Di Maria. I must say, choosing this squad was much easier than choosing the Baptism of Fire squad.''

"Why was that, Mr. Pisani?''

''I took the same players. These 23 men showed me what they are capable of, and reached the Round of 16 stage before being knocked out in extra time. Although we did not win, it was a great showing and one that we hope we can try to recapture in qualification.''

''It will certainly be tougher in qualification. Your side have been drawn against that of Starblaydia, multi-time world champions, currently ranked 34th in the world, and Turori, ranked 9th in the world as of now. Also in the group are one-time qualifier Sicoutimont and Kitsunia-Deese. Casagrande, Itanpavria and Alinghi Federal-Democratic Republic round out the group.''

''Certainly it's a tough draw, but look, any team can beat any other team on any given day. That's the philosophy we enter this tournament with. We're looking to get a great start. First day, we open up at home, at Stadio Nacional, we'll be in the red and blue, and taking on Alinghi Federal-Democratic Republic. It'll be a great way to try to open up with 3 points, and hopefully build on it.''

''The whole nation certainly hopes you will. The roster will now be announced, and afterwards we'll have questions from the reporters before saying good bye to Mr. Pisani as he looks to begin training with the squad. Here is the roster.''

Keepers
Sergio Conti -- San Michele -- 8 caps -- 5 clean sheets -- Age: 25

''Alright, I'm going to hand it over to the press now, Mr. Ricola will answer some of your questions. Uh, we'll start with you, over there.''

''Hey, Mr. Ricola, I'm from Venalzio Sports Network. Just a question on your inside forward selection; Emilio Udinese was in top form at the Baptism of Fire, getting 2 goals in his six sub appearances, often coming in for Angelo Lori. In better form, why don't you start Udinese?''

''Udinese is in top form; it's true. Look at his goals, and when they occur. Later in the game, after coming on as a sub. He has the power to be a real super sub for us, especially when he's on form. I also trust that Angelo will pick up his game in the next few matches, or your scenario could come true.''

''Alright, Mr. Ricola thanks.''

''Next question, uh, how about you, on the right.''

''Hello sir, I'm with The Merchant Today, and I'd like to ask, when would a keeper besides Conti get their first cap?''

''When Sergio's injured. Nah, I expect that they'll both be capped in this qualification tournament. Conti's on fire now, really good form. He may need a rest, he may be injured, maybe that form will fall, but I certainly don't expect to play him for 14 matches in a row.''

''Sir, I'm with calciovenalzio.com, and my question for you is this: What do you expect from this team in their first World Cup campaign?''

''Honest answer? It's our first shot at this. Look at the group we are in. I don't expect at all to qualify. I don't expect to for a few cycles. The FCV share my view, and we'd like to get the best experience and improve our ranking in the world at this tournament.''

''Thank you for your questions. On behalf of the FCV, and the nation of Venalzio, I'd like to wish Mr. Pisani and his side the best of luck at the World Cup Qualification tournament.''

Overall Record (through World Cup 68 Finals)

Staff
Manager: Rick MARTINEZ (58)
The former manager of Deportivo Nespa, where he won the domestic treble in the 2014-15 season. He was appointed with the job on a permanent basis after he guided the national team to another Round of 16 appearance at the Cup of Harmony at Valanora, on which he was managing the team on an interim basis. Martinez is a tackler for discipline and he is willing to drop any player he feels that is not ready for a match. He also schedules training for the senior squad two to three times a week, and anyone who misses training has a low probability of starting the next match. He is the first manager to guide the Agilang Dilaw to its maiden World Cup Finals, at the 68th edition of the World Cup in Legalese and Free Republics.

Assistant Manager: Lorick MANGABAY (46)
Assistant of Rick Martinez while at Deportivo Nespa. He always follow what Rick wants, but he is a hardworking staff. He usually gathers data of upcoming opponents in any way he can, and show it to Rick in order to formulate tactics against them.

Coaches: Jervin Datu (37), Dickson Atencio (37), Soren Morin (42), Isaiah Alquiros (56)
Physios: Solomon Andalencio (45), Edmund Aborita (62)

Style: +2.05
A slightly attacking formation, Martinez utilizes his wingers to deliver dangerous crosses and usually employs overlapping of wingers and fullbacks. This tactic was always seen when he managed the Los Islenos and don't be surprised when he uses it again effectively.
Formation: 4-4-2 diamond, switching to a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-1-2-2-1

SEMARLAND WORLD CUP 69 - 25 MAN SQUAD AND TEAM GUIDE

Background:

Manager Henrik Jensen has made some surprise inclusions. 39 year old defender Magnus Nielsen, who has not played a national game since May 2013, was called up to the squad, due to most defenders resting from the Baptism of Fire. The only player from that squad to make the team was the team's star Demba Cisse, who personally said to Jensen and to the press that he wanted to play, and with his amazing stamina and amazing skills, he is definitely not a bad choice. Obvious inclusions include Captain and record-scorer Marc Lygaard, 39 year old Vice Captain Andreas Jansen, goalkeeper Jorgen Karlstad, Nicolas Janzaard and Matur Eiriksson in defence and tough-tackling midfielder Marko Halck. Some uncapped players have been called up, Divock Marelana, Lasse Pedersen, Tipio Runen and Ake Orjan Niemquist. Runen was highly tipped to make the cut, as the right winger/striker was his club's top scorer. He will most likely come on as a substitute, as both the right wing and striker positions appear to have been pre-booked.

Semarland will likely start in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Karlstad in goal, although promising young keeper Anders Sjelkords may well get the nod. The other option is veteran Martin Datheim, whose younger brother striker Janko Datheim has also made the squad. Defender-wise, it is likely that Eiriksson, Janzaard, Karbruck and Malsen will start, although there are Jakob Lunds, the veteran Magnus Nielsen and the uncapped duo of Divock Marelana and Matjas Nordland to compete with. There are plenty of midfield options, relatively uncapped Honen Havarisyaptyan, veteran Steve Matsen, Marko Halck and Andreas Jansen will battle for the defensive/central midfield places. However, Havarisyaptyan can play attacking midfield and Jansen on the right-wing, but young star Demba Cisse and either Ture Skøjerhaven, Jurgen Hellaensen or Tipio Runen could have those spots respectively. Mads Olsen will likely start on the left-wing. Uncapped Lasse Pedersen, under-21 captain could also have a chance. There is plenty of strikers to choose from - Lygaard is an almost certain starter, being Captain and top scorer, but Martin Kristiansen, Jakob Larsen and Janko Datheim will compete with him. Skøjerhavn and Hellaensen will likely play on the right-wing, or up front/attacking mid. Niemquist could play in either of the attacking midfield or striker options.

United Eastedge Association Football Federation (UEAFF)
Eastedgean National Team Roster for the World Cup 69 and Confederations Cup 3

Overview: United Eastedge is rich in history, even in association football. A story that is unique in this category, in a manner of speaking. The said sport has been present among the population of the country since they began playing ball games. United Eastedge would be world power in this sport if the money had allowed it before. In fact, the economic crisis that the country has suffered in the last years, caused difficulties in the development of the sport across itself. Nonetheless, the population have organized national, regional, and state tournaments in which several players highlighted due to their first-level performances, projecting a promising future for official international competitions such as the 56th edition of the Baptism of Fire, held in San Jose Guayabal, Schiavonia, inter alia. Tournament in which United Eastedge achieved their first championship after defeating The Fallenmark Islands, 2-1 in extra-time. However, that achievement was obtained with 23 men that participated in tournaments organized by the community. Now, the World Cup 69 Qualifiers are just around the corner and it definitely will be important to grow in international football. To conclude, United Eastedge is a country in process of being a well-established one in all senses. Even though, football, as some say, is more than just a sport in the country, is a religion...
Roster & Coaching Staff: The president of UEAFF, George Fallwest announced a project days before the kick-off of the Baptism of Fire 56. It consisted in training sessions and skill tests in order to test the habilities of each player, as well as establish or assemble a strong team. As the navies are not in the World Cup 69 Finals yet, they will perform the Qualifying Stage on a very irregular and particular way, having 35 players willing to give everything in each match in order to put the name of United Eastedge at the top of the world by making the Finals. Even though there are the 23 men that were champions in the last Baptism of Fire, Masson assures that none of those players have a insured spot in the first eleven, he will try to make his players compete for one inwardly. Nonetheless, the navies will have a defined first eleven for their debut in the World Cup Qualifiers, which will be comprised by Walter Sandoval, Matthew Alvarez, Caleb Green, Jaime Peters, Jonathan Bennet, Wesley Hammond, Daryl Agnew, Bejamin Holloway, Shane Dawson, Ray Woods, and Brian Ward. In the other hand, it is the coaching staff, which is comprised by:

Marcos Masson (Head Coach): Masson has been always involved in the world of football since his dad, Derek Masson played for a community-established club of the outskirts of the city of New Esterford, which is located in the northeast of the country. He became a professional footballer in an early age, being just one more players among the other. He was not highlighted by his performances, therefore, his carreer as a footballer was nothing special. Was then when he discovered his real passion after becoming the head coach of one of the best clubs of the country in that time. Since that time, he achieved important things with several teams within the country and just one time abroad. He became the first head coach ever of the national football team of United Eastedge, guiding the navies all the way through the championship in the Baptism of Fire 56.

Glenn Roberson (Assistant Coach): Even though Roberson was born in a little town of the nation of Estenia, he has lived his entire life in Ostley, a big city at the south of United Eastedge. Ostley, being one of the cities with most football crowd than any other sport, it would be weird that Roberson not being interested in the most beautiful sport of the world. Nonetheless, he never played for any team although there were many places where to play in the said city. He was commonly helping the head coach of multiple teams due to his manner in which he looks the game. Fallwest called him to be part of the national team due to his efficiency, being next to Marcos Masson since the first match ever of the navies.

Devin Williams (Goalkeeper Coach): The family of Williams, was one of those with economic crisis. He lived together with his parents, his brother, and his sister in Erifield, a little town located at the half of the road between the cities of Silverston and Brightgate. He became playing football when he was in the high scool, leaving the studies forgotten for a while. He tried different positions in the field of the local club and the one he liked the most was goalkeeper. He trained each day since he began to do it, who would imagined that Williams would probably be the best goalkeeper on United Eastedge's history? To be honest, several clubs were discussing to sign the crack. It would have been great if he had played with the national team, but unfortunately, when the football in the country suffered an important growth, he was not in the proper age to play anymore. Nonetheless, he became the goalkeeper coach of the navies.

Elias Barrett (Special Advisor): The story of Elias Barrett is quiet hard and sad at all. He was living only with his mother and his brother since the first years of his life, without anyone who motivate him in a sporting manner. Nontheless, that did not stop him to try to achieve his bigger dream, become a professional footballer. He's another historic man in the Eastedgean Football, after beat record after record in a short time playing. He was in the best moment of his carreer when he suffered a severe injury in the left leg. Unfortunately, he never returned to the fields leaving football forgotten for a long time. Fallwest did the right thing again, calling him to be part of the national team of United Eastedge due to the experience he had gained sometime.

Tactical/Strategic Information:
Image
Everyone in football is constantly talking about tactics. In recent years, we've gushed over the development of conservative 11-men-behind-the-ball approaches, the growth of tiki-taka and passenaccio, the rise of the mythical 4-2-3-1, and the spread of gegenpressing and counterattacking. Masson will be using different kind of formations as well as combinations of players being part of the first eleven to test which is the best combination, in a manner of speaking.

Let's take a look to the past... The navies used a weird but efficient 5-3-2, a modern formation becoming the team into a compact and dynamic one, two factors that are quite needed in the current football. We used to see Jonathan Bennet, Wesley Hammond, or Dallas Wheeler stealing the ball in the midfield, subsequently the used to make an arcing run toward the sideline. Ususally, they pass the ball to the center of the field in order to open up space in the bands to pass the ball through there once again thereafter. Ray Woods and Brian Ward accompany them going within the box, looking for the ball, and finally, they assure their attack by placing Benjamin Holloway, Daryl Agnew, and Shane Dawson/Allan Brewer outside the box in order to improve the distribution of the ball within the opponent's territory. It is a good strategy, but based in Masson's attitude, he will try to bring in the best of football, the art of football into the team soon. Do you know what are we talking about? Yes, strategy, tactics! The navies probably will use the said formation in a determined match day and above all, a determined opponent. It is hard to make this formation work properly, but it is not impossible. It is just a matter of test each player and analyze their skills. However, let's stop talking aout hypothetical issues and let's begin analyzing the game-style of United Eastedge, based on what they have shown in the Baptism of Fire 56. United Eastedge tend to be concentrated in open up spaces than any other thing within the field, but maybe you wonder, how the hell they do that? Well, that's a good question. It is a complex but easy proccess; they usually steal the ball in the midfield, if the defense is too closed and tuned, they stay passing the ball in their territory, making feel present to both wingers. The opponent usually goes toward the midfiel trying to steal the ball, and subsequently counterattack them. But, that causes to open up spaces... They pass the ball through the bands quickly and similar to a counter attack since they take bad-standing the opponent's defense at all. Nonetheless, that won't assure the qualification to the Finals due to the world-class opponents the navies will have to face. Speciacially, Audioslavia.
