The 1st half of the tournament is over now.

In Division OUEST Rangers confirm their leadership (7 wins and 1 tie over 9 matches!), Stade-X is a very likeli semifinalist, but we see Avenir is recovering very well after an uncertain start... The Noir-et-rouges should keep their eyes wide open.

In Division EST Gorillas have the same leadership as the Greens in Western Division 7 wins and 2 losses out of 9 matches, their qualification should not be questionable, behind them l'Etoile has a 6 points disadvantage from the Black apes but has a tiny advantage over the others.

4 rounds to go, the regular season of this 2nd edition of the GRAND BOUCLIER XADOWIEN is about to finish, in Division OUEST the Rangers kept the pace and still lead the division standings, behind their back Avenir took advantage of the (few) errors by Stade Xukokelais and are 2nd now after winning last match over RC Mamoukh. It seems very likely the 2 semifinalists will come out of this trio: Rangers, Avenir and Stade-X.

Division EST is still dominated by the former Champions: the Black Gorillas. Even after losing last match with Etoile they keep leading and the reds seem not in great shape to qualify for the semis. Anyway, according to our advice, the competition for the 2nd place is still open to ARMS, Lions (playing a great championship this season) and Etoile with eventual surprises coming from RC Moundokolo and Leopards who kept in the top three positions for 12 rounds and now they are falling towards the lower positions.
A word must be said to underline the negative performance by the Elephants: 14 defeats out of 14 matches is not acceptable for a provincial franchise! A lot of work and renovation should be undertaken before season III starts over.

15th round and three to go: while in Division Ouest Rangers keep the leadership, the Violets increase by one point the advantage over the Stade-X which now consists of three points. More interesting appears the situation in Division Est: Gorillas lose their second match in a row and in this phase of the championship it is very dangerous. They lose against Etoile who are in search of a passport to the semis. At this moment we see the top 4 teams in a 4 points span. Nothing seems certain yet!

So, we reached the last but one round in the II Edition's regular season.
In Division Ouest the game is over: The 2 teams qualified for the semis (and for the twenty-third edition of the RUCT Seasogs Championship) are Rangers and Avenir, same teams who made it through in Edition 1 but in reverse order.
Next round will have no interest for the qualification in this Division.
As far as Division Est is concerned we have three teams that can still qualify: namely Gorillas, Etoile and ARMS. So next round will be the final showdown for these three franchises

At the end of the regular season, qualifiers of Division Ouest are confirmed: Rangers and Avenir passed to the semis.
As far as Division Est is concerned Etoile was defeated by the Elephants (!!!) who won just another match so far!
ARMS qualifies because of their Points difference.

The semis will be therefore:

Rangers		vs	ARMS
Gorillas	vs	Avenir

These 4 teams qualify to the 23rd RUCT SEASOG Championship.

It’s Gorillas again! The black apes won their second title in a row, they are really a powerful team.
The match against Rangers was tough and well played, the difference was made by the kickers, Isidore Kunakey (Gorillas) did not miss a kick while Gabriel Kagame (Rangers missed one conversion and 4 penalties!).
The Gorillas players will be the backbone of the national team which is going to play the RWC 22.

Now let’s wait for the RUCT SEASOG XXIII, hoping this time our teams will be more competitive.

As said in a previous article, the third edition of the Bouclier Xadowien Championship will redistribute the 20 franchises in the two Divisions. The names of the two Divisions will changa now into
DIVISION JAUNE (the yellow division)
and
DIVISION VERT (the green division)
In honour to the colours of our beloved national flag.

The 20 teams have been divided into 5 tiers of 4 teams each, according to the current URX ranking and from each tier 2 teams will be drawn to one division and the remaining two will play the other division

Rugby World Cup no.22 is getting closer and closer, Xadowian national team is preparing well.
The Coach, French former scrum half Nicholas Lebarien, is working hard testing the best players from all the 20 franchises in order to issue the official convocation to the 22 heros that will fly to Electrum in the Rushmore Region.

Waiting for the RUCT SEASOG XXIII and for the start of the 3rd edition of the Grand Bouclier Xadowien Championship we’d like to illustrate to non-Xadowiens one of the most popular Xadowien rugby traditions: “L’ECUSSON DE XADOVILLE” .

This is a trophy that is contested between the Leopards and the Lions: the two teams of Xadoville, the Capital of our Kingdom.
It is a golden shield, which represents the arms of the City charged of a Lion and a Leopard.

Every time the two teams clash in a match during the National Championship, the holding team defends the trophy and the winner of the match becomes the holder of the Ecusson.
Tied matches don’t move the Ecusson from the current holder’s showcase.

The trophy is taken to the stadium in the morning and shown during the whole duration of the match.
After the match the winning team grabs the trophy and walk all around the field presenting the shield to their supporters going crazy for happiness!

In town there are two famous pubs that have been chosen by supporters as their headquarters:
- Cafè des Lions
- L’Abri du Leopard
The tradition is that the supporters of the winning team will get a free beer from the opponents’ pub…
In the night the winners’ pub organizes an allnighter party where all the supporters of any team are welcome for a symbolic fee of 10 X-Lyras (about 5 Euros).

After the great performance in RUWC XXII where the XV Xadowien reached the octofinal we record a new important step in the Xadowian Rugby: the new RUWC Rankings have been issued.
Our team ranks 24th ex-aequo with Ahbanfleft out of 93 nations.
It is a great satisfaction for our Rugby which just a few months ago started its voyage.

Hallo rugby mad Xadowiens!

RUCT Seasog XXIII just crowned its champions: Northbrook Harlequins
The Polar Islandstates team won their second title in their 5th final. Indeed they have a place in the NS Rugby Union Hall of fame.

Here we report a statistic of the most titled teams in the multiverse:

Montbenoit Old Boys 3 wins + 3 runner up
Northbrook Harlequins 2 wins + 3 runner up
Lyra 2 wins + 1 runner up
Darmen City Wasps 2 wins

But what happened to the Xadowian teams?

GORILLAS Proceeded to group stage as championship winner and were admitted to group D.
The performance of the black apes was not bad, they won both the legs against Estopians Rannin RFC, but lost Darmen City Wasps and the champions-to-be Northbrook Harlequins. Actually they lost 3 out of 4 games by 7 points or less, the worst result was in Northbrook 27-18.
As usual the Gorillas showed a brillianf set of back and an attacking attitude that lead them often across the opponents’ tryline but brings a lot of risks when the opponents are top teams such as the Harlequins and the Wasps…

RANGERS made their way through the preliminary stages defeating
Cata Largan Directorate CR 6–10
Paradystopian Knayves o'the Keyp 3-16
And proceeded to Group G. But the results the golden starred greens reached in the pool stage were the same the Gorillas had: 3rd in the pool and did not qualify. The pool results record of the Saint-Cyprien greens is 2 victories against Under State but defeats in both legs against Vulpecula and JK Memorial Squad, where the former has a once runner up result and the latter has played three finals winning one..

The other 2 teams taking part in the competition had bad results since the preliminary stages and were kicked out of the Tournament:
Avenir 15–16 Alpine Graz RK (ASK)
ARMS 16–17 Victoria Royals (WIN)

Xadowian teams took part to the RUCT Seasog for the second time and this time the results depicted a small increase in our play, this builds a good prospect for the next Tournament editions.
