Vandry Continues his Epic Performance
Following his win of Group C, James Vandry found himself placed in the newly formed Group B. Vandry has found himself paired with fellow Group C member, runner up Tyr Gaejac as well as top performers from Group A- runner up [proposal=]Mariana Costa[/proposal] and 3rd place Arnold Erdmann Stumpf, Group B- third place Ayton Pase and Group D runner up Warren VonHopton. Despite these spectacular competitors amongst the crowd, James once again used his skill and lanky body to outperform others taking first on the Zoores Track course. He nearly beat out George Jordan (Britonisea) 4th qualifier from the original Group B. Vandry and Jordan seem to be the top of the Group only being separated by a mere 17 seconds, while still being a full 2 minutes ahead of 3rd place Ayton Pase.

"The weather was pretty miserable. All in all, I was able to focus on what got me there and keep moving forward. I think that we've got a good group out there and could probably defeat anyone from Group A." Vandry was confident in his performance moving forward stating "No matter what you do, you have to focus on the little things - length of stroke, smart use of hills and transitions - with those working well, everything else falls into place."

We hope that Vandry continues to tear it up on the course and we think that his confidence is well placed - barring an injury - he should continue on into the next round of competition claiming one of the top 4 spots in the group.

Our Dark horse has finally come out to play

Country: Star United States

And here are the results from today:

Group A
Track: The Mount Track
Location: Jackson City, Star United States
Weather: Drizzle, 70 F (21 C)

Results
1 Carson Star 1:50:06.16
2 Jorg Ulrich Halle 1:50:06.86
3 Zach Ivins 1:50:59.52
4 Johnson Rogers 1:51:01.83
5 Guy Majifi 1:51:08.08
6 Great One-Arm Willy 1:51:27.81
7 Robert Malcomb 1:53:02.34
8 Jona Lewis 1:54:47.95
9 Harold Weasely 1:55:45.82
10 Great Battle Axe 1.55.48.64

For Round 2, Guy majifi and Johnson Rogers are in a group and they are in the top 5 of 10 people. They have done well so far as they are 4th place and 5th place, both being passed out by Triathlon super-star Zach Ivins, and Carson Star. Which a very impressive score. Guy Majifi was not as his best performance today, in a press conference, he said "I like this country, it is very good. I think that I could have played much better. I could have ran better. As you have probably seen, I work better in nice and cool conditions, but as soon as the temperature passes 20 C, I will not do so well" 5th place Johnson Rogers agreed with what he said and he said "I think that I could do better, but I am usually good at quite hot temperatures. Cold temps do not suit me. It is just me. Though I think that Zach did well, he might have done a trip somewhere." Britannual news does not know what he meant by this. But better things has been happening on the Zoores Track in Woodbed City.

Group B
Track: The Zoores Track
Location: Woodbed City, Star United States
Weather: Drizzle, 74 F (23 C)

Results
1 James Vandry 1:49:27.71
2 George Jordan 1:49:45.13
3 Ayton Pase 1:51:27.26
4 Warren VonHopton 1:51:32.79
5 Tyr Gaejac 1:51:52.37
6 Arnold Erdmann Stumpf 1:52:03.91
7 Alexi Trovalyov 1:53:32.66
8 Great Hatchet Hank 1:53:47.61
9 Mariana Costa 1:54:33.45
10 Mar Kordar 1:55:07.12
[/quote]

Though James Vandry is a threat to Britonisea, George Jordan pulled of quite a performance. George was faster than the winner of Group A which is outstanding! As we said in our earlier reports, we think George can be a dark horse of the tournament, and he was and is! He was on the verge from not being in the top 20 people. If he keeps this good progress up, he will have a space in the top 4 of his group which means he will success to the next round of the tournament. In 3rd place was Ayton Pase, who we have heard before, was minute and a half behind which is not too bad. We would be surprised to see any of our athletes at the bottom four positions anytime soon.

Well, well, well, were did we leave you before I was so rudely detained by a fleet of merchant marines off of the Hefemalt cost. I was simply having a peaceful sail with the owner of the HopNation Daily Tattler when out of no where this vassal comes up and shoots a tether line across our bow and the next thing you know we are being boarded. Thank goodness no one was hurt but we did loose a good chunk of BEER over the whole ordeal, but again thank goodness no one was hurt. I think that will be the last time we sail to the southern edge of Hefemalt, which I think that section is owned by Allgrainville. They are an ally of HopNation and they claim nothing of these merchant marines that took over our sailing ship, but for me I will not be going down that way any time soon.

Now back to the Star Triathlon Worldwide Tournament and some results for you. We had all three triathletes make it to the second stage of the competition and although they did not have the best first event of this second round they had a much better second event and, if you ask me, have set themselves up nicely to make it into the third round. They will need to perform well, but nonetheless they have set themselves up nicely to make a push going forward. So what do we have you ask? Well, Halle is in Group A for the second round and both VonHopton and Stumpf are in Group B for the second round. Four from each group will be making it into the third round and as of the second event Halle is sitting in 2nd in Group A, due mostly to a three way tie for first so right now I think he is on the bubble spot and needs some good points on the final day of round two in order to progress further. Then we have VonHopton in the second position of Group B and Arnold is in the fourth spot, but there is a tie in the current third place spot so if the results stay the same Stumpf might find himself going home earlier than he would like. I was still a bit in shock and didn’t look over the tie breaker items before writing this, so I apologize for not knowing how the ties will be worked out if there happens to be any after the third event of the second round.

I would have to say that after reviewing the results from the previous days I missed, the competition has been great during both of the events in the second round. Not that it was bad during the initial group stage, but it has picked up the pace a little and seems the athletes are sticking closer together through each stage. Hopefully I’ll be back up to full speed and can get a proper report to all of you after this third event in the second round.

Brew On! Brew Well Hoptonians!

Hello Everybody,
Sorry that I’ve had some issues with getting you results from the current event that our Jacks are in but we had a small forest fire back in Timbermunich and I, being a Jack, had to protect the Great Timbermunich Forest and the rest of Timbermunich from any damages. I’m pleased to report that we were able to control the fire before any major damage was done, it did burn through 40 square miles of timber but was never within range to danger any lives. But that’s not what I’m here to tell you, today we are again talking Triathlons and our three competitors that were competing. I had thought before the fires that only two of our three made it to the next round but all three made it out of round one and are now competing in round two of this Fifth Star Triathlon Worldwide Tournament. We have two athlete in in one group and one athlete in the other group for this Round Two of the tournament. Great One Arm Willy and Great Battle Axe are in Group A while Great Hatchet Hank is in Group B. The three have not done great in this second round as they are sitting below or well below the cut-off line to make it to the third round. But with some effort and a good final event they do have a small chance to make it into that third round and continue competing. Hopefully they can do that as we don’t want them to come home just yet, we want them to do very well in this tournament. Here are the standings we were given after the second day of competition during this Round Two of the overall tournament:
 Standings
1st Place = 10 pts.... 10th Place = 1 pt.

Key:
#. Triathlete (pts)

R2 - Group A
1. Carson Star (17 pts)
-. Zach Ivins (17 pts)
-. Johnson Rogers (17 pts)
2. Jorg Ulrich Halle (15 pts)
3. Guy Majifi (11 pts)
4. Great One-Arm Willy (9 pts)
-. Great Battle Axe (9 pts)
5. Robert Malcomb (6 pts)
6. Harold Weasely (5 pts)
7. Jona Lewis (4 pts)

R2 - Group B
1. George Jordan (18 pts)
2. Warren VonHopton (17 pts)
3. James Vandry (16 pts)
-. Ayton Pase (16 pts)
4. Arnold Erdmann Stumpf (12 pts)
5. Tyr Gaejc (11 pts)
6. Alexi Trovalyov (6 pts)
7. Mariana Costa (5 pts)
-. Mar Kordar (5 pts)
8. Great Hatchet Hank (4 pts)

So as you can see Great One-Arm Willy and Great Battle Axe are in the best position to move on, while it appears that Great Hatchet Hank is all but out of this tournament. We can hope he gets first and finishes with 14 points in this Round Two, but that is highly unlikely. On the other hand we do need the two members of our Nation that are in Group A to do very well in this final event of Round Two if they want a chance at moving on.

That does it for me on this recap of the Fifth Star Triathlon Worldwide Tournament.
Peace I’m out!

We were so close to sending all three of our triathletes to the next round, but one fell just a few points short. Arnold Erdmann Stumpf finished round two with 18 points six total points behind the fourth place participant James Vandry who had 24 points. Stumpf was disappointed but knew after the first day of round two that he had a lot of work to do if he planned on making it out of this round. He however had some set backs on day one of the second round and found himself needing a first or second place just to keep pace with the leaders after day one. He improved on day two but then needed to finish at least two places ahead of both James Vandry and Ayton Pase if he hoped to move on. He was not able to keep up with them on the final day of round two and was left spinning his wheels as he was eliminated from competition.

However we did have two of our athletes make it out of Round Two and they now head into head to head competition. Jörg Ulrich Halle finished second in his group with 24 points, a hard earned 24 points too. On day one of Round Two he finished in a good second place position and he felt good about his chances at that point. Then came day two, a day that he had some trouble with his bike and finished fifth. This left him just two points out of the lead, but he would need a strong finish on day three if he wished to continue. He did what he wanted and finished the day in second place and secured himself a spot in the next round finishing just one point behind group winner Carson Star and one point ahead of Johnson Rogers.

Last for HopNation is Warren VonHopton, our most veteran of the crew and also a favorite to move on from the very first round. Now in Round Two he was put in Group B along with Stumpf, but he had little trouble with this group as he finished in first place and a full two points ahead of George Jordan and Ayton Pase who tied for second. On day one of the second round VonHopton expressed his concerns to me as finishing fourth on this day was something he did not expect and he had a great admiration for the other competitors and the effort they put forth. But knowing VonHopton he used this as motivation and on both day two and day three of round two he finished first, he even had the fastest overall time on day three of round two. This sent him to the top of his group and set him up for a slightly easier first race once the head to head competition gets underway.

For the next round we enter the Quarter Finals where it’s win or go home. Can VonHopton continue to put up top times and advance to the Semifinals? Can Halle show is true from and surprise a few people to move on? A few short hours will let us know for sure. Until then Brew On! Brew Well Hoptonians!

It was an emotional day yesterday as we saw one of Britonisea's leading triathletes exit the 5th star World triathlon. In Group 1, Guy Majifi won in his group today as he beat the likes of Carson Star. Guy was lucky as he was less than 1 second away from Jorg Ulrich Halle. He was so close that it looked like he beat Guy. Luckily he came first. Though after this triumph, he failed to qualify to the quarter-finals by 1 point, sadly. Also in Group 1, Johnson Rogers was very slow today and he look very lethargic. He said "I was very tired after today." Suddenly yorns "Luckily Guy was ahead of me but I guess he was not going through to the semis. It is sad. I look forward to the next round whoever I am playing". In group 2, The dark horse of the tournament has secured his place in the quarter finals after that marvelous win the other day. He was just over take by VonHopton in the group and he is second in the group, overall, he is drawed 2nd place.

Quarter-Final One:
Carson Star v. James Vandry
The Starian Track (City of Star, Star United States)

Quarter-Final Two:
Ayton Pase v. Jorg Ulrich Halle
The Zoores Track (Woodbed City, Star United States)

Quarter-Final Three:
Johnson Rogers v. George Jordan
The Klien Track (Riverside City, Star United States)

Quater-Final Four:
Warren VonHopton v. Zach Ivins
The Mount Track (Jackson City, Star United States)

It is good that the Britonish men are versing each other because it means that we have a definite spot in the semi Finals. Britonish number one and Britonish number two will be playing in The Klien Track in Riverside City. It is going to be an amazing run. We expect, dark horse, George Jordan to win, a hopefully get passed the Semi Finals.

One Down – One Remains

The quarter finals were run and we saw one of our triathletes lose a close race as Jörg Ulrich Halle was within 40 seconds of Ayton Pase. This race was held at The Zoores Track in Woodbed City they had a nice temperature as well, which was 77F. The two started out in the water and made their way through this section with Halle having the lead. As they transitioned to the bike Pase stayed right with Halle and the two seemed deadlocked through the entire route. During the next transition Pase fell behind a little bit as there was a little trouble with switching shoes, but this was short lived as he maintained a nice fast running pace and quickly caught up with Halle. During the final two miles of the run Pase took the lead and never looked back to see where Halle was. Halle made one final push during the final half mile but it was just not enough and he will have to enjoy the remaining rounds from somewhere along the course rather than on it.

The second triathlete we had in the quarterfinals was Warren VonHopton and he didn’t disappoint in this one. VonHopton was pitted against longtime foe Zach Ivins and Ivins jumped out to an early lead on the swimming section of The Mount Track located in Jackson City where it was a little cooler at just 69F. The two came out of the water with VonHopton trailing by almost a full minute, which gave Ivins a little cushion during the cycling stage. But half way through the cycling VonHopton would catch and pass Ivins, however he would not put distance between them and they were neck and neck going into the running transition. VonHopton did pull away at the start of the run but Ivins, being the competitor that he is, kept VonHopton in his sights. At one point during the run Ivins over took VonHopton, but he couldn’t shake him. VonHopton let Ivins lead right up until the final 400 meters when he kicked it in. As Ivins felt VonHopton come up on his side he too took off and both were now at a full sprint, despite both being fully drained of energy. With only 10 meters left VonHopton gained a bit of space and finished just 2.82 seconds ahead of Ivins. This secured VonHopton a spot in the semifinals and sent Ivins intot he stands to watch the rest of the tournament.

In the Semi-Final VonHopton will be taking on Pase, which Pase will be looking to duplicate the fastest time of the Quarter-finals and again knock out a member of the HopNation Triathlete Team. VonHopton felt good when I spoke to him about he Zack Ivins race and he assured me that despite the finish he has plenty left in his tank and looks forward to taking on Ayton Pase in the Semi-Final Round.

Will VonHopton be going for a Tournament Win or will he be trying to get third? We’ll find out soon enough. Good luck to the four remaining triathletes as they vi for the title of the Fifth Star Triathlon Worldwide Tournament.

Due to the last few days in the 5th star WorldWide tournament, George finally stepped up his game. The odds are that Ayton Pase is going to loose between the match of the two titans. Britannual News has a feeling that it could be very close. Ayton Pase has been doing very well but he was slower today than our George Jordan. Luckily, we will at least come 4th. And this probably means George will be Britonisea's #1 triathlete.

For all the marbles

With just Warren VonHopton left in the Fifth Star Triathlon Worldwide Tournament for HopNation we knew it was going to be tough going, but after the quarter-finals it looked promising that he would continue performing well. However he was now up against the trithlete that posted the fastest quarter-final time. I for one was a bit worried that Ayton Pase would produce another stellar time and knock VonHopton from his hopes of winning this tournament. Especially considering VonHopton nearly squeaked out of his match-up. The two were at The Klein Track located in Riverside City and they had a nice day to be out there too with the temp sitting at a moderate 76 F and the sun peaking through a light cloud cover. To my surprise it was VonHopton leading coming out of the swimming stage but not by much as Pase was only seconds behind him. On the bikes the two stuck with each other for almost the entirety of the ride. In the last couple miles Pase took the lead and looked to be pulling ahead of VonHopton but looks are deceiving as during the transition they were almost side by side coming out. They would switch positions a total of 10 times during the run section as neither competitor wanted to bend to the other as the pace of the race grew faster and faster you could see that both were wearing. And it was in the final mile that you could see who put in more work to get to where they are. VonHopton started to edge forward and gain ground on Pase. At the finish line he would cross twelve odd second ahead of Pase and put himself into contention for the crown of this tournament.

Will Warren VonHopton be able to produce yet again and come away with one final win here in Star United States? Or will the young local hero come through and get the win for the home crowd? I know for one if Warren has anything to say about it the youngster will be left riding his wake, eating his rubber and covered in dust from trailing during all three stages of the final race. This final race will be held at the wonderful The Starian Track in City of Star which I do believe is the capital city located in Starix. We'll see what happens.
