Matilda Kratochvil was displeased.

Not merely with the outcome of the match, though that hadn't been pleasing either. Roberts had dominated the midfield, and Arlo Rais-Sonnen's goal hadn't made much of an impact. Kalumba were a strong team, even if they seemed to be built around the Kahali Spears--the club dynamic struck her as a bit strange, but it clearly worked for them.

Nor was she concerned about the straggling Zwangzug fans who had made their way to Serenberg to take in the game. Those who had braved the glares of the security forces, only to be met with the excitable Kalumban fans and a few Kinitar neutrals, were mostly quiet throughout the game. In reality, those desperate to come up with witty chants were stymied throughout the game. Not only had Roberts frustrated most of the defenders, he was frustrating them; there was no way to say "you, good sir, are a homosexual person, and that is totally cool, but in utterly unrelated news, you're a bit of an idiot for choosing to move to a country that hasn't done much of anything since the 57th World Cup." It didn't scan.

Nor did she care--if she knew at all--that her remarks at the qualifying draw had been noted and remembered by the Kinitar government. She was going to be fine, she told herself. If the authorities had a problem with her, they'd have made it known by then. And she wasn't going to say anything else to raise their suspicions, at least not while she was in the country. She, at least, had that much good sense.

Only that night, from the next room over, did she begin wondering whether her players did also. "No matter who you're assisting, helping the cause or whatever, it doesn't change the facts," came a muffled voice that sounded suspiciously like Martina Ruan.

"Just because everyone says Kucinich would hate attacking, you can't trust everything you hear," sighed somebody else, seemingly Sara Hale-Barnard.

"Well, Kucinich is completely overrated, I think we can agree on that."

"An overrated cult figure?"

"Well, not in Zwangzug, granted, but--"

"But somewhere where people know how to recognize a right winger!"

"That's not really an accurate description, though."

"It doesn't matter now. None of it affects what we're doing, today."

"It's all bound up, together. I wouldn't be so shortsighted."

"Even if it did matter, so much could change between games. Even you don't think we'll get a storm."

"It doesn't matter how far the team goes, Zwangzug--it's still Vircais, isn't it? There's something you can learn, from watching that--"

Kratochvil knocked on the door, and there were Martina and Sara, as predicted.

"Ruan," Kratochvil glared. "You know better."

"Better than what?" Martina said, a petulant bottom lip protruding.

"Than this. The next time someone overhears you, it's probably not going to be me."

"I don't know what you're so worked up about," said Sara.

"Don't be naive."

"Martina here was just telling me about the last time Zwangzug played consecutive games in Vircais."

"The...what?" Kratochvil blinked. Zwangzug had played Kinitaria in a qualifying stage, but the two legs had been spread out over the course of the round-robin. And they'd only met once since, on neutral ground. "When did we ever--"

"World Cup 40," said Martina. "Friendly in Kura-Pelland, then the first match of qualifiers was in Vephrall. And I think, that just because Megan Kucinich got an assist in the second game, that doesn't maker that good--I mean, she was as defensive a midfielder as they came. Vephrall just had horrible weather that night, and it cost them."

Kratochvil stared at the captain, then shook her head.

"Now, another copy of her was playing--out of position, granted--on The Holy Empire's simulacra team, and--"

"Ruan?" said Kratochvil.

"Yeah?"

"Just, be careful, okay?"

"Of course."

"You too, Hale-Barnard, I--don't want any trouble."

"We're fine," said Sara.

"All right." Kratochvil paced off.

Behind her, Sara was still rambling. "So, she scored on the return fixture, yeah?"

"So what, Zwangzug lost, that's not that great." Martina dubiously asked.

"Well, okay. But Vephrall had a new manager, they were turning things around..."

Chaos in the Cup of Harmony as host nations struggle to maintain order

The hosts of this cycle's Cup of Harmony, Kinitaria and Kazamatsuri face questions over their ability to host after riots running amuck in Kinitaria and natural disasters striking Kazamatsuri

Kinitaria is known for it's general hooliganism on the pitch, but today was different as peaceful protests on the street turned violent. Protests in Paleu, where Electrum will play tomorrow and the day after, were quickly put down by the increased military and police presence. This comes after more simultaneous rioting and general disorder in the capital Mi'ato, Serenberg and Chyr.

There have also been reports coming in from Inovita, where Electrum just played of Kinitars heckling and booing Electrumites as they entered the arena -- a clear reference to Electrum's loss to Kinitaria just a few weeks back during the World Cup qualifications. Although heckled at, the amateur vision shows that the Electrumites have just ignored the hooligans and continued on into the arena. This shows that the government advice campaign is working.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Takumi Itsuki, has said that, "I am glad that the Electrumites have followed our travel advice and make sure that they stay out of trouble in Kinitaria. However, we do submit that Electrumites should still reconsider travel to Kinitaria, especially due to the circumstances of the Politburo's slipping power over disorder all across the country." When Minister Itsuki was asked for his thoughts on the protests in Kinitaria, he said that, "It seems that there isn't an end in sight for the violence that is going on, and we only hope that the dispute can be resolved through peaceful and diplomatic means."

There has been criticism, especially from the Human Rights Association (Electrum) as to why Electrum was sent to play in such a dangerous place such as Kinitaria. Questions have been asked about why Kinitaria was awarded the rights to host the Cup of Harmony even though there is clear political turmoil. President of the HRA, human rights lawyer, and also columnist for the Centralis Herald, Pete McConnor says that, "The HRA supports sanctions and widespread condemnation against Kinitaria after their repeated human rights abuses and their oppressive regime. We stand with those who want to liberate the country from the Politburo." The HRA has been distributing petitions calling for Electrum to leave the Cup of Harmony and to boycott all further events sanctioned by the WCC after Kinitaria was chosen as joint co-hosts along with Kazamatsuri.

Meanwhile in Kazamatsuri, there was general disorder of a different kind. Although Kazamatsuri is still under martial law, there were severe weather events, greatly hampering play for the players as well as destroying vital infrastructure such as stadiums and generators that were being used. The bizarre weather conditions have been attributed to Kirigiri-no-Mikoto, who would like an alternate version of Kazamatsuri -- and this can only be achieved by whipping up these natural disasters. Although this is the line the Kazamatsuri press have gone with, the Electrum Skeptics Society thinks it's just a coincidence that all of these things are happening at once and that, "There's no such thing as a goddess of creation." Although the ESS thinks that it is all a coincidence, the Kazamatsuri explanation is far more superior in explaining why everything is happening at once.

Some of the natural disaster events that have happened in Kazamatsuri include two major earthquakes, acid rain, bush fires and tropical cyclone Kamiusagi. Although bush fires and cyclones are common in Electrum, Electrum authorities have updated the travel advice on Kazamatsuri in wake of the natural disasters that happened. Authorities have set it in the 'do not travel' level, signifying the highest level of warning on travel. Electrum citizens are advised to not travel to Kazamatsuri, lest they want to risk their lives.

In wake of all of these bizarre weather conditions happening, questions are also being raised about Kazamatsuri's ability to host, despite the damage caused to stadiums. Although Electrum is not playing in Kazamatsuri in the group stage, other nations are concerned that their team or their citizens might get hurt in the carnage. Nonetheless, this Cup of Harmony has been very troubled from the beginning and the citizens of both Kinitaria and Kazamatsuri will have to hope for things to turn around again.

Match One Results
The Archregimacy 2 - 1 Star United States

Star United States lost to the hands of The Archregimacy for the first match of the Cup of Harmony, not a very good start. Surprisingly, the rivals weren't happy with their accomplishment.

The match began with the rivals having possession of the ball, and they managed to keep it due to the skills of the four Auxentiuses, who in sepcificly are Auxentius the Merciful, Auxentius the Ascetic, Auxentius the Stern and Auxentius the Kind.

On the fifteenth minute came the first goal of the match, where an Auxentius scored, in this case the kind one. The four defenders gain territory on the field quickly as they could, and as they approached it, the ball was passed to The Kind, and this player shot towards the goal, and Spark, goalkeeper of Star United States, didn't even have enough time to move. This was a job expected to be done by the forwards, but the defenders have a trick up their sleeve. (The Archregimacy 1 - 0 Star United States)

The next goal, in favor of Star United States, came om the 38th minute, where Stafford, player of Star United States, stole the ball from George The Thoughtful! When this occured he seemed confused, but Stafford managed to get the ball and pass it to Soarison. He passed it to Garrison, who then passed it to Stafford again. Stafford took the ball, glanced up, and kicked it. Score. The ball slipped through the hands of Pachomius the Sure of Hand. (The Archregimacy 1 - 1 Star United States)

The first half eneded in a tie. The second hald brought one more goal, in favor of The Archregimacy.

The third goal of the match came on the 76th minute, where Theodosius the Wise got the hold of the ball, while the players of Star United States were trying to get the ball away from their net. They, obviously, failed to do so as the rival scored. The goal of Theodosius the Wise put the rivals in the lead. This man did choose wisely. (The Archregimacy 2 - 1 Star United States)

The match ended with Star United States losing to the rivals.

Next Match
Albaie v. Star United States

Star United States will face Albaie. These two teams have never played before, and to make it a little worse both teams need a win. Otherwise, they're eliminated from the Cup of Harmony.

It'll be interesting watching these two teams play against each other. The odds aren't necessarily in Star United States' favor, but anything is absolutely possible.

Chaos In Kazamatsuri and Star United States
Are Our Players In Danger?

Chaos has hits the streets in Star United States as they protest all the natural disasters in Kazamtsuri. Well, they protest because the players of the national soccer team of Star United States are in great danger, and many people want them back safe in the shores of Star United States.

Lead protester, who was leading the protest in City of Star, the capital of Star United States, M. Martsrz stated the following: "I don't care if it's the first time Star United States goes to a Cup of Harmony, our players are in danger and so are anyone elses and so are our citizens who are in Kazamtsuri! There's no harmony there! How dare this government let them go to the shores of a dangerous, full of natural disasters country! Stop the Cup! Bringing them home!"

Once he said that everyone else in the crowd joined the chant: "Stop the Cup! Bring them home!"

Moving on to the more Spanish-domained area of Star United States, in this case, the city of Lado del Río (Next To The River).
Translation
Can someone tell me who's idea was this? Oh yeah, it was the government of this country that let them go to to a country full of danger! Our citizens are in danger in the country of Kazamatsuri, and this country already knew, yet they let them go! What ignorance! There's no Cup of Harmony there! There only is Cup of Terror and Destruction! Stop the cup, come back home!

At the moment the present Spanish population started in the chant: "¡Paren la copa, que regresen a casa!" or in English: "Stop the cup, come back home!"

Also, in the Golden City, near the coast nearest to the Star United States Islands some protests took place. The Star United States Islands was claimed not so long ago, and has become part of the sovereign nation of Star United States. On the islands 99% of Portuguese speakers reside there, therefore Portuguese became the third official language of Star United States.
Translation
What's this nonsense? Why don't we just throw all of our citizens into dens of lions like they did to Daniel? Oh, no, just send them to a dangerous place just to play a game of soccer. What a caring government! If anything happens to any citizen of this nation in Kazamatsuri due to the natural disasters, it'll be on the government's hands! What a pity, so much for a Cup of Harmony! Stop the Cup, come home now!

At the same moment, just like in the other two cities, the Portuguese crowd roared out: "Parar o Copa, chegar a casa agora!"

As all these cities rang in chaos, the citizens armed themselves and attack the police force trying to calm the situation down. All three cities fought back.

What's to happen? More to come as information come out!

Azai denies involvement in Cup of Harmony bribery scandal
Mizuyuki-jin figure skater speaks out against allegations of gross misconduct

The 60th edition of the prestigious Cup of Harmony is turning out to be one that will go down in the history books - for all the wrong reasons.

When the Kazamatsurian and Kinitar football federations put their heads together to assemble a host bid for the Cup of Harmony, they can hardly have envisioned the utterly embarrassing series of fiascoes that have rocked the two host nations thus far. The Kinitar-Kazamatsurian Cup of Harmony is barely a week old, and yet it appears to be doomed to fail before a ball was even kicked. The situation in the Atlantian Oceanian nation of Kinitaria has been fraught with political tensions and imminent danger amid widespread public demonstrations against the ruling Party of Socialists of Kinitaria, while the Kazamatsurians are hardly doing a convincing job of hosting themselves - a series of debilitating natural disasters, leading to a state of national emergency being declared by the local government, effectively putting paid to the Esportivan island nation's hopes of co-hosting a competently-run Cup of Harmony.

As if the host nations didn't have enough on their plate already, the latest scandal to rock the Cup of Harmony was brought to light yesterday, as an Electrumite source leaked thousands of private files implicating Kinitar, Kazamatsurian and Electrumite footballing authorities in an unprecedented bribery scandal involving the group draw for the Cup of Harmony. The leaked files include several encrypted communications logs of IRC communication between Federasiya Futbola Kinitaria President Bojan Kumiric, Kazamatsurian FA representative Azai Kanon and Electrumite Minister for Sports, the Arts and Culture Jack Hughes as well as a copy of a completed Cup of Harmony draw which appeared to be significantly biased in Electrum's favour, pitting them against the lowest-ranked top seed Apox, low second seed Taeshan and bottom third seed Kalumba.

The relevant communication log is reproduced in its entirety below.

Jack Hughes: Satisfactory effort.
Azai Kanon (Mizuyuki): Satisfactory, Mr Hughes? Now where is that money, eh?
Jack Hughes: I told you, I am having none of that. I have already wired it to your bank account.
Bojan Kumiric (Kinitaria): Wait, how do you know about the money due to the Kazamatsurian FA? Granted, it's not as though Mr. Hughes here is acting in secrecy...
Azai Kanon: Heh I have my links Bojan...

Reproduction of IRC communication log apparently implicating FFK president Bojan Kumiric, KFA representative Azai Kanon
and Electrumite Minister for Sports, the Arts and Culture Jack Hughes in a bribery scandal

In the early hours of the morning, renowned Mizuyuki-jin figure skater Azai Kanon called a press conference in which she strongly rejected suggestions that she was personally complicit in gross misconduct relating to her alleged acceptance of a bribe totaling in the millions of aurorae in exchange for securing an 'easy' Cup of Harmony group for Electrum.

"I reject the very notion that I, an athlete of good standing and reputation, would tarnish my name by accepting a bribe from the Electrumite Football Association. Pecuniary gain has never been the point of my involvement in sports, and it will never be the driving force of my sporting career."

When quizzed about the Kazamatsurian FA's mind-boggling choice of group draw host, electing to despatch figure skating star Azai of Mizuyuki rather than a Kazamatsurian footballing luminary, Azai was largely dismissive at the perceived incongruity.

"I am not privy to the internal workings of the Kazamatsurian FA. They decide on their candidates, and they chose me to represent Kazamatsuri of their own volition. It was a decision made at the eleventh hour; it happened that I was in the immediate vicinity on personal business, and I was ordered by my superiors at the MFSF (Mizuyuki Figure Skating Federation) to present myself at KFA headquarters. I was then rushed to the venue of the draw and arrived barely fifteen minutes before the draw was due to commence. I followed orders, simple as that, and I fail to see how a single IRC communication log can be paraded about as decisive evidence in a non-existent scandal, especially when there has been not a single scrap of corroborating evidence produced by the accusers."

Azai, a starlet of the figure skating scene in her native Mizuyuki, was unconcerned at the possibility of her name being dragged through the mud over the 'non-existent' issue, which she insists is an attempt to cast aspersions on the competence of the KFF and the KFA at hosting an internationally-recognised footballing tournament, amidst reports that the Electrumite Ministry for Anti-Corruption, led by Senator Greg Appleby, would be undertaking an exhaustive investigation into the matter and subsequently collecting factual evidence to bring a case against all three involved parties in an Electrumite court.

"I personally believe that unscrupulous, irresponsible persons trying to cast the footballing authorities of Kinitaria, Kazamatsuri, and by extension Mizuyuki in a bad light are behind this ... I reiterate that no amount of money would be able to move me to sacrifice sporting integrity for personal gain. It goes against my values, my principles, everything that I stand for ...

"I have said it before, and I will say it once more ... I am not worried. It is my belief that justice is fair, and it is justice that will free me from the chains of these unfounded accusations; it is justice served if my name is cleared. ... I have faith in the system, I have faith in justice, and above all, I have faith in myself ... and I can say, in good conscience, that I was not involved in any form of gross misconduct related to the group draw for the Cup of Harmony 60."

Azai also stood firm when pressed on her relationship with the two other individuals said to have been complicit in the scandal, firmly denying suggestions that she had been previously acquainted with Minister Hughes and Mr Kumiric and were close personal friends with the duo.

"I had never heard of Jack Hughes before in my life. In fact, the first time I heard the name was when my coach informed me about this unfortunate affair ... as for Mr Kumiric, the first time I met him was at the Cup of Harmony draw. We shared some light banter after the draw and had a quiet dinner together - that was the extent of my interaction with Mr Kumiric."

Thus far, there has been no official comment from the involved parties - however, Minister Hughes spoke to the media in his personal capacity, categorically denying all allegations and allegedly inviting the media to 'look at the treasury accounts if you must' to prove his innocence. The Kinitar authorities remain defiant in their silence as both Mr Kumiric and the Federasiya Futbola Kinitaria has, as of the time of writing, refused to comment, while their Kazamatsurian counterparts have also been tight-lipped on the issue. The unexplained reluctance on the part of the authorities to release a statement has led to whispered rumours that the allegations ring true.

The jury is still out on this one.

Minister Hughes resigns after rigging controversy; before facing inquires with anti-corruption authorities

Although the 60th Cup of Harmony was already marred with controversy with the hosts facing their own troubles (disasters in Kazamatsuri, protests in Kinitaria), there was yet another controversy with Kinitar and Kazamatsurian authorities accused of rigging the draws in a way that would favour Electrum. The Minister for Sports, the Arts and Culture, Jack Hughes categorically denied all accusations of rigging, but has now in a sudden move has resigned from the ministry over the incident.

This incident all started when the Centralis Herald gained access to leaks of communication between Electrumite, Kinitar and Kazamatsurian authorities where Jack Hughes allegedly wired money to a bank account in exchange for a favourable draw in the World Cup. It is important to note that Electrum is the lowest ranked team in the competition. Although his initial response was one of denial, he has soon come back today in a press conference and said, "I cannot operate in this office without the confidence of the people. I am a man of integrity and I still maintain my innocence, but in light of these allegations this office is untenable, so I will have to step down."

Prime Minister Jim Brandis, of the ruling Labor Party responded to Jack Hughes's resignation of the ministry by saying, "I just want to make it clear that Jack Hughes has performed an honourable action by stepping down until the allegations are resolved. I commend him for being as transparent as possible about the issue and for his gracious resignation. The Labor Party will soon choose a new member of parliament to take over his role. And no, I will not comment further on the issue as it is now a court issue under Senator Appleby's portfolio."

Senator Appleby, a nominal independent, resides over the Anti-Corruption ministry and will now order an inquiry as to what actually happened between the three authorities involved in the incident. Further leakages of internal documents have shown drawsheets with Electrum being given an 'easy draw' with Electrum facing Apox, Taeshan and Kalumba. The inquiry is set to start tomorrow and Jack Hughes has said that he will take part in the inquiry. Although Kazamatsuri and Kinitaria were accused of taking part of this corruption, they are not empowered to make statements (that is their attendance is optional) as it concerns corruption in the Electrum jurisdiction, however Senator Appleby has said, "They are welcome to submit any documents or statements which will be considered by us, but they are by no means in trouble with Electrum law."

The Anti-Corruption ministry was given broad, wide-ranging powers over corruption and transparency of government. This has been one of the biggest and most controversial scandals to date -- and now they can lay claim to Jack Hughes's scalp. Although they can't fine or institute jail terms for government corruption, they are able to forcibly make politicians to resign from office or from their ministry, though that won't be needed after the events of today.

Meanwhile, in Mizuyuki, Azai Kanon, the person representing Kazamatsuri in the supposed IRC logs held a press conference earlier today to attest her innocence. Although she said that, "It goes against my values, my principles, everything that I stand for ..." she actually did not explicitly say that it wasn't her that specifically asked, "Now where is that money, eh?" Azai explained that she was a last minute delegate for KFA and that she had no prior relations with Jack Hughes.

In that press conference, she questioned the validity of the communication logs which were recorded by Wikileaks. She claims that, "unscrupulous, irresponsible persons trying to cast the footballing authorities of Kinitaria, Kazamatsuri, and by extension Mizuyuki in a bad light are behind this ..." Whether or not the issue was contrived remains to be seen, but Azai Kanon's counter-allegations are nonetheless serious and not to be taken lightly. When the inquiry starts tomorrow, they will start a long process of trying to put together the pieces of the puzzle that is this controversy.

Some political commentators have claimed that it was suspicious for Jack Hughes to stand down after allegations, as he just prior to that proclaimed his innocence. Jack Hughes will now be facing enormous pressure to tell the truth tomorrow as the inquiry starts into this supposed match draw scandal.

OOC - for the sake of transparency, this RP is a lightly edited cobbling together of the RL 2014 Pascha/Easter message of the Patriarch of Moscow and the famous (to RL Orthodox) Paschal Homily of St. John Chrysostom. Easter is so important within the Orthodox calendar that it would naturally be the dominant focus of the team today

Beloved in the Lord

All-honourable pastors and deacons,

God-loving monks,

dear brothers and sisters!

On ‘this chosen and holy Day’ when the world ‘that is visible and invisible’ (see: the Canon of Holy Pascha) glorifies the Prince of life and Victor over death, we send our heartfelt greetings to all of you through the Paschal exclamation:

CHRIST IS RISEN!

From year to year the good news of the Resurrection resounds victoriously, encouraging us to render praise to God and the Saviour, who has trampled down death by death and has made us co-participants in the life eternal which is to come.

As we celebrate this ‘Feast of feasts and Triumph of triumphs,’ it is with a special spiritual feeling that we recall the redemptive act of the Saviour of the world, his sufferings on the Cross and bright resurrection. Pascha is not some beautiful legend, not some theoretical theology and not a nod towards a popular custom established in the distant past. It is the essence and kernel of Christianity. It is the victory that God has granted to us.

From the time of the apostles and up to the present the Church has preached Christ’s resurrection as the greatest miracle in the history of humanity. She speaks of this miracle not only as a fact of the Gospels, but – and what is especially important – as a moment of destiny for all those who have received the Paschal good news. This feast bears the most direct relationship to us, for Christ’s resurrection, the Lord’s redemption of the fallen world, is the greatest joy which the human person can experience. No matter how difficult our life, no matter what everyday troubles besiege us, no matter what grief and imperfections we have to endure from the world around us – all of this is nothing in comparison to the spiritual joy, to the hope of eternal salvation that God gives us.

As St. Paul says, ‘he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken our mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in us’ (cf. Rom 8:11).

On the radiant day of Christ’s resurrection the souls of millions of the faithful are replete with thanksgiving to the Creator, and our earthly life acquires true meaning. Christ’s Passover is the greatest triumph of life, the triumph over death bringing love, peace and spiritual transformation.

In celebrating Pascha we each time open up a new period in our lives, for the risen Lord renews human nature, fortifies us in tribulations, and grants to us the strength to accomplish good deeds.

The Paschal message, which has transformed the whole course of world history, encourages us to be morally transformed, to be spiritually renewed, which is so essential for Ordinary Reality society. It reminds all people of the sources of Christianity, as well as of the coming eternal Kingdom where ‘God may be all in all’ (1 Cor 15:28).

During these radiant days of the Paschal feast we are called upon to share our joy with our relatives and those close to us, to show them active love and mercy. Such are the traditions sanctified over the centuries, and in following them we testify to our participation in Christ’s heritage and belief that the Lord has truly risen.

Now, as before, the Holy Synod of the Archregimancy, working closely with the Monastic Football Association and Monastic Olympic Committee, diligently carries out her saving mission, tirelessly proclaiming God’s truth, affirming the importance of the Gospel commandments, calling for peace and harmony, serving the spiritual unity of nations living in the countries under the pastoral care of the Orthodox Church of the Holy Empire.

Our special prayer today is for the participants in the Cup of Harmony, that they may negotiate the tournament safely and under God's protection, despite the ongoing political unrest in Kinitaria, the natural disasters brought about by false worship of a demoness in Kazamatsuria, and the new bribery allegations that are now further undermining confidence in the hosts. In proclaiming the love of God which surpasses all knowledge (cf. Eph 3:19), Christianity brings people together by overcoming national, cultural and state boundaries, for ‘the light of Christ illumines all’ (cf. Jn 1:9); truly this is a fitting message for a sporting tournament dedicated to international harmony.

May the risen Lord grant that we may all with benefit for our souls continue our earthly pilgrimage in recalling our lofty Christian responsibility and vocation to create within ourselves and those around us a strong faith, sincere love and steadfast hope. May the joy of this feast day strengthen and inspire us to accomplish good works, grant to us the courage and strength amidst the stormy waves of the sea of life to retain our endurance and calm, to withstand temptation and trials, to overcome, in the words of St. Sergius of Radonezh, ‘the hateful divisions of this world.’

May the light of Christ’s glory that has shone forth from the Life-bearing Tomb abide with us and illumine our hearts, extending to those who are close to us and those far removed from us, and upon all who are in need of our care and support.

In congratulating all of you on the great feast of Holy Pascha, we prayerfully wish for you generous spiritual gifts, physical strength and the gracious aid which is from above in the triumphant journeying with Christ.

In closing, let us remember now the words of the Paschal Homily of St. John Chrysostom:

If any man be devout and love God, let him enjoy this fair and radiant triumphal feast. If any man be a wise servant, let him rejoicing enter into the joy of his Lord. If any have If anyone is devout and a lover of God, let them enjoy this beautiful and radiant festival.
If anyone is a grateful servant, let them, rejoicing, enter into the joy of his Lord.
If anyone has wearied themselves in fasting, let them now receive recompense.
If anyone has labored from the first hour, let them today receive the just reward.
If anyone has come at the third hour, with thanksgiving let them feast.
If anyone has arrived at the sixth hour, let them have no misgivings; for they shall suffer no loss.
If anyone has delayed until the ninth hour, let them draw near without hesitation.
If anyone has arrived even at the eleventh hour, let them not fear on account of tardiness.
For the Master is gracious and receives the last even as the first; He gives rest to him that comes at the eleventh hour, just as to him who has labored from the first.
He has mercy upon the last and cares for the first; to the one He gives, and to the other He is gracious.
He both honors the work and praises the intention.
Enter all of you, therefore, into the joy of our Lord, and, whether first or last, receive your reward.
O rich and poor, one with another, dance for joy!
O you ascetics and you negligent, celebrate the day!
You that have fasted and you that have disregarded the fast, rejoice today!
The table is rich-laden: feast royally, all of you!
The calf is fatted: let no one go forth hungry!
Let all partake of the feast of faith. Let all receive the riches of goodness.
Let no one lament their poverty, for the universal kingdom has been revealed.
Let no one mourn their transgressions, for pardon has dawned from the grave.
Let no one fear death, for the Saviour's death has set us free.
He that was taken by death has annihilated it!
He descended into Hades and took Hades captive!
He embittered it when it tasted His flesh! And anticipating this, Isaiah exclaimed: "Hades was embittered when it encountered Thee in the lower regions".
It was embittered, for it was abolished!
It was embittered, for it was mocked!
It was embittered, for it was purged!
It was embittered, for it was despoiled!
It was embittered, for it was bound in chains!
It took a body and came upon God!
It took earth and encountered Ηeaven!
It took what it saw, but crumbled before what it had not seen!
O death, where is thy sting?
O Hades, where is thy victory?
Christ is risen, and you are overthrown!
Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen!
Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice!
Christ is risen, and life reigns!
Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in a tomb!
For Christ, being raised from the dead, has become the first-fruits of them that have slept.
To Him be glory and might unto the ages of ages.
Amen.

Armakistan Pull of a Stunning Win in a Game Full of Shocks

While Armakistan's giant killing heroics are becoming more the norm in the world of football it is still surprising to see a team in their first ever cycle manage to beat one of the top teams in the world. This was exactly the case when in their first Cup of Harmony game Armakistan where able to beat New Montreal States 2-1. However the biggest shock was who scored, or rather who didn't. Nick Kelly is becoming an Armakistan hero. He has scored in every game Armakistan has ever played in meaning that the national team has never draw a blank during a game. However, despite Armakistan scoring two goals and winning the game, neither of the strikes came from Kelly and the star player had to be subbed off in the 65th minute.. Questions will now be asked in the media. Was he playing injured, is this the end of Kelly or is something deeper and more sinister happening to the 29 year old vice-captain? Hopefully this was just a blip. I mean surely his run had to stop at some point...right?

Luckily for Armakistan our other striker Martin Bucklebury, who knows all about having trouble on and off the field, was on fire. His 25 yard strike in the 24th minute opened the scoring after been laid off by James Darling and then he followed this up in the 42nd minute with a great solo effort as he picked up the ball from Freddy Bell on the halfway line and used his blistering pace and agility to beat the defense and debris on the pitch and coolly slotted the ball past the on rushing keeper. Armakistan looked home and dry going into half-time but a solid display after the break by the opposition led to a nervy end to the game especially when Phil Kimberly found space to the box to finally get the ball past Daniels who'd been having a trademark solid performance between the sticks. Fortunately, for Armakistan some more top saves and some good clearances meant the team was able to hold out against the experienced NMS team and grab the important win. The 3 points put Armakistan top of the group for now after HopNation pulled off an equally impressive shock victory against group favourites Ko-oren.

CoH in choas amid group rigging, natural disaster and political unrest

It seems are glorious Armakistan football team have more than their on-field performances to worry about during their CoH campaign. Co-Hosts Kinitara appear to be going through a period of political unrest much like what Armakistan faced not 2 months ago. They will be hoping that they are able to cover this up until at least the final has finished. Luckily for Armakistan none of their group stage games are played here, unluckily for Armakistan they are played in Kazamatsuri, a fellow region member in Esportiva. The conditions in this country at the moment are horrible. Acid rain is ruining the infrastructure and natural disasters are happening so often they government doesn't have time to the clean up after the previous one. During Armakistan's first game there was debris covering the pitch. During Bucklebury's storming run for the second goal he was closer to being tackled by a concrete block than he was to any defender on the pitch. Kazamatsuri officials will have their heads in their hands already as it goes from bad to worse. Hopefully the conditions do not directly effect the outcome of the tournament but sadly it looks as if it will. Will the 60th CoH have to be postponed? Or will they keep putting the players lives on the line just for a little kick about?

Sadly the problems in the host nations is not the only reason this tournament is in danger but a bribery scandal involving the hosts FA's and the Electrum FA, the lowest ranked team in the tournament. The linked files suggested that officials had accepted bribes in order to give the low ranked Electrum team the easiest group they could possibly get. However this seems to have back fired as not only has this now been leaked but Electrum lost their opening game.

We managed to get a word with Armakistan Thomas Boston how said that he'd been keeping his players away from local news sources and indeed Armakistan news as he normally does so that they are not distracted by events. He even admitted himself that he hadn't heard about the scandal until that morning when coach Henry Robertson showed him the news over breakfast in preparation for the interview. Boston also admitted that despite his news ban, players knew something was happening and they had been informed of the problems in Kazamatsuri and seen the devastation from their hotel window and in the stadium during the game. He went on to say: 'these lads are professionals, they have a job to do and they will work hard to complete these job'. Let's hope this is the case as after their opening round win Armakistan have given themselves a great chance to do well in this competition.

Lord Almighty Gregory's Speech to the people

"Good morning, ladies, gentlemen, and slaves. Last week, assistant soccer coach Maliman 912JZNSUDU defected to Kazamatsuri. Furthermore, he has since adopted an unspeakable local name. I shall not speak it, you shall not speak it, and none in this country shall speak it. Maliman 912JZNSUDU is a sinner for refusing to remain loyal to his God and his country. For that, I must impose criminal sanctions on him.

"If Maliman 912JZNSUDU ever sets foot on Gregoryisgodistani soil again, he will be taken into custody and executed. Any family he has remaining in Gregoryisgodistan has already been executed for the sins of their relative. Of course, the executions were done in a way reserved only for traitors and those who shame the nation - the brownie cutter of death. This is essentially a giant, very sharp brownie cutter capable of cutting through skin, bone and organs. It essentially chops up traitors and nation-shamers into thousands of small pieces. The slicing is done very slowly and painfully, as the victims scream in pain and beg for death. It is a very painful process to go through, far more painful than normal execution. But Maliman 912JZNSUDU's family has paid for his sins, and so will Maliman 912JZNSUDU if he ever sets foot in this country.

"Furthermore, should Maliman 912JZNSUDU ever arrive in this country with the Kazamatsuri soccer team, we will execute the entire soccer team for having a traitor for a coach. This includes all coaches except head coach Mad Dash, because only humans and sapient extraterrestrials are subject to the laws and protections of Gregoryisgodistan. Mad Dash is a sapient horse from Earth and therefore, regrettably, is not subject to our laws. However, the flip side is true as well. Mad Dash is not subject to our protections, so it is legal to kill her, or do pretty much anything else to her. However, Mad Dash is still considered a horse under Gregoryisgodistani law, and anything that would be illegal to do to or with a horse is illegal to do with or to Mad Dash. Notably, this includes bestiality, punishable by death. Furthermore, if Mad Dash is ugly (I do not know if he is because I have never seen pictures of her) it would be illegal to ride him down the street, and doing so would be punishable by death. But enough on this pony-related digression. Let's get back on topic.

"Maliman 912JZNSUDU is a traitor to all Gregoryisgodistanis. He deserves to die by the brownie cutter of death. If he ever comes back to Gregoryisgodistan for any reason, he will be executed in that matter. Furthermore, if he comes with the Kazamatsuri team, they will all be executed for allowing him to be their assistant coach. Regrettably, we will be forced to spare Mad Dash, but you can take him out if you want. There is no law against killing a horse. So go for it.

"Thank you, and Me Bless Gregoryisgodistan."

Special Edition CUP OF HARMONY Report: Cosumar ties Astograth in final seconds

Image

YUIGAHAMA, KAZAMATSURI - For the entirety of his brief life, 18-year-old reserve striker Anders Engström has watched on television as his Cosumarite heroes like Luke Crisalus thrusted Cosumar into glory with dramatic last-second goals. Now, Engström is the youngest player on the team he grew up idolizing. Being an inexperienced player still developing his skills, Engström spent most of World Cup 68 on the bench. Watching. Learning.

But when starting striker Addam Andsman-Savage received a concussion from a flying piece of debris (courtesy of the Kamiusagi hurricane) just after arriving in Yuigahama, Manager Farris Crowley turned to Engström in desperation. Indeed, in Cosumar's first match of Cup of Harmony 60, young Anders received his first international start - and first significant playing time at all.

"Engström makes his share of mistakes, as any footballer of his age does. It's the type of thing that comes with being a teenager playing alongside established international superstars" Crowley said. "But this kid is special. He may have no clue what we're doing sometimes, but he's fast, with a natural knack for creating good looks at the goal. He's a wild card. I took a gamble, inserted Anders Engström - and it paid off."

The man (or boy?) of the minute here in Cosumar is, of course, Anders Engström. With a mere 20 seconds remaining the Dragons were trailing 34th-ranked Astograth 4-3. Defender Kirum Mortonsson managed to deflect the pass of an Astograth striker with a well-timed but desperate dive. Midfielder Abel Scarloff collected the ball and scanned the field, with only 15 seconds remaining. Utilizing over a decade of World Cup experience, Scarloff was able to see Engström making a sudden dash down the left side, breaking away from an Astograth defender.

"I had an eye on the clock and knew we had very little time, so it was essentially one of those "now or never" siutations. I needed to create a scoring opportunity, no time for hesitation" Team Captain Abel Scarloff said. "My sixth sense told me to check Anders [Engström] and I saw him start to break away. So I just crossed my proverbial fingers and launched to the open space in front of him."

With an exceptionally strong kick, Scarloff booted the ball down the length of the field. The small crowd of spectators in Horizon Bridge that braved the erratic weather all turned their head - squinting to glimpse the action with the video board nonfunctional. Gasping, tensing, and hoping in unision as they saw the opportunity develop. The kick was a beauty, arching and landing in perfect position for Engström to cleanly collect it. With nothing but green turf between him and the goal, Engström angled towards the goal, sprinting in from the right with ten seconds to play.

9...8...7... The boy-faced striker showed off some impressive footwork and feinted a shot, juking left and right, trying to unbalance the goalkeeper. 6...5...4... Finally, Engström found his chance. One of his feints had caused the goalie to flinch towards the right. Seizing the split-second opportunity, Engström fired towards the left corner of the goal, the ball sailing through the air. The entire crowd was shaking with silent anticipation (or maybe that was just the hurricane winds). The goalie leaped towards the left, his body fully extended, grasping for the ball. 3...2...1... The ball sailed into the back of the net, evading the goalie's glove by centimeters. Both Engström and the goalie fell to their knees, with opposite emotions pulsing through their bodies.

"I'm just completely speechless right now. I never thought I would have the opportunity to score a campaign-saving goal, on this big of a stage" Engström said post-game. "Abel [Scarloff] deserves a hell of a lot of credit for setting me up. I just can't believe it right now. But we still have two more huge matches coming up and we're going to get right back to preparing for that. As much as I would love to savor this moment, it was just a draw - we've got to put it behind us and move on."

Cosumar managed to force a draw with the 34th-ranked Astograth after falling behind 3-1 early, an entirely acceptable result. Although Engström's last-second match-saving goal is undoubtedly a highlight of the year for Cosumarite soccer, there was plenty of impressive play outside of the final minute. Sur Arora found the net early in the game to give Cosumar a 1-0 edge. Abel Scarloff and Ejegefe Na'Safeh scored back-to-back goals in the second half to equalize the game at 3-3. Na'Safeh's goal was especially impressive, deflecting a Thomas Teverridge corner kick into the net off of his head.

Cosumar - 4
Scorers: Arora (11), Scarloff (52), Na'Safeh (54), Engström (90)
Astograth - 4
Unknown goal scorers (18), (30), (39), (77)

This campaign-opening draw places Cosumar and Astograth in a tie for second-place in Group H behind Farfadillis, the second-highest ranked team in the tournament. The Farves managed a 3-2 victory over Yttribia, which currently sits in 4th. The Dragons must follow the example of their Atlantian Oceanian rivals and find a way to defeat an up-and-coming Yttribia squad.

To advance to the Knockout Rounds, the Dragons will likely need to get 3 points from someone - and let's face it, that someone is not going to be Farfadillis. That leaves Yttribia: Cosumar's best chance to land a victory and solidify their chances of advancing. Best chance is a relative term, however. Yttribia is one of the lowest-ranked teams in the Cup of Harmony, but they played well against Farfadillis and aren't intimidated by rank numbers (or crumbling stadia). They lack a head coach, but they play solid defense and Xavi Vilhjalmsson is one of the best sweepers in the universe (at least, that's what the Yttribian Football Federation's pamphlet wants us to think). In fact, HopNation sports analyst Raffael Volk has predicted that the Yttribians will upset Cosumar tomorrow. After seeing the Dragons play with heart and score four against Astograth I am confident that they will find a way to win, but Volk is right in predicting that it will not be easy.

Cosumar's fate is also tied up in the result of the Farfadillis-Astograth match at Wave Arena. The Dragons need Astograth to stumble if they are to secure sole ownership of the H2 slot.

"*Huff*......*Puff*.......*Cough*...*Whew*...." Manager Farris Crowley panted after narrowly avoiding being blown away by a tornado on his way to the media session. "I'm sorry.....had to.....outrun tornado.......to get here. Worst...*cough*...host site....ever....*cough*. Anyways, yes...Yttribia match...very important....*huff*...good team. Need more magic from...*puff*...young Engström...to fuel our attack with...Addam [Andsman-Savage] out."

Medical Staff from the team's camp have reported that Andsman-Savage's debris-induced concussion will keep him out for the next two matches - meaning we won't see him again until the Knockout Rounds (hopefully). His presence will be missed, but hopefully Engström's display of firepower tonight was not a fluke and he can fill the savvy veteran's shoes for at least tonight's critical match against Yttribia.

For a report of the Cosumar-Yttribia match and a preview of Matchday Three's pivotal match against our familiar foes from Farfadillis, check out tomorrow's edition of The Cosumarite Courier. Thank You for reading,

Cup of Harmony's Great Start

By Lisho Yaru

3 Albaie 1 0 0 1 2 3 −1 0
4 Star United States 1 0 0 1 1 2 −1 0

A splendid display of skill from the Kandorese team, winning with 3 - 2 against Albaie. Although the defense could have been better, the team did deliver. Experts argued over the ability over Kandorith's defense for a long time now but in the end they did agree on the team scoring the most goals wins in the end. The Kandorese team has shown they are the goal scoring team once again, and with this they could seize a narrow win. With rumors of the resignation of the head coach Xíanjí, after failing to reach the World Cup, the situation of the national team is a tense one. The team however, seems to have no issues in picking up where they left and once again performing as they should, as a top performing team, inspired by national pride and aiming for top performance.

Head coach Xíanjí was once again questioned thoroughly at a press conference where he dropped some conclusive words which might re-define the future of the Kandorese national squad and crew as a whole. "I am still thrilled about being the coach of the Kandorese national team" Xíanjí answered on the question of his position as head coach after failing to reach the World Cup. "But, I have made a promise to the fans and my resignation as coach is imminent. I know this will disappoint many fans of which I have had the pleasure of being seen as a hero by them, but I will not break my promise to them either." he continued. "The promise was the see Kandorith advance into the World Cup and we have failed to do so. This has nothing to do with the team, as they are the finest squad we have in our great nation, I will rather take the blame on myself and will ask for my resignation after the Cup of Harmony." As the journalists reacted quite shocked further questions were asked about Xíanjí's decision. "I know that I have had a very successful campaign and I know the association can find a suitable replacement for me, who might even perform better. But I feel that I have failed to fulfill my job expectations and have disappointed the fans by my inability to lead the team into the World Cup successfully. I have also decided to stay with the team for the Cup of Harmony as they still need the stability, as there is still victories ahead of us and we can still seize something from the elimination in the World Cup qualifiers." a proud standing coach said to the media.

With the definitive resignation of head coach Xíanjí the single most successful coach in Kandorese sporting history will end his career; shocking? Yes, unexpected? Not entirely. Although the certainty remains, Xíanjí will keep leading the team for the remaining matches of the Cup of Harmony and believes the Kandorese team makes quite the competitor in the competition. A strange day in the sporting history of the national team, who are now on their way in competing for the Cup of Harmony for the second time in history.

OOC Commentary: None of importance, besides having you TG me if there are any errors in my post.

Richard hated toilet duty. Mainly because since he was the only political criminal, which is different than political prisoner, which meant he was the only person to perform toilet duty. And when he had to perform toilet duty, that didn't mean for just a section of the prison, he had to clean all of the toilets in the entire prison. Fortunately, the prisoners inside the Telino Federal Prison knew much about cleanliness, as they were "white-collar criminals", and knew how to kept tidy. Richard just hated fact that he did the menial job often. One of Richard's few friends, Andres Brandt (prisoner BNK 852) , arrested for money laundering, approached him for friendly chat.

"Eyy, how you doin Richie Rich?"

"Not well, Andres. And you know how much I hate that pet name you gave me, right?"

"I gave you that? Nice, nice. That nickname spreads like wildfire around here, so don't be surprised. And let me guess why you're down, toilet duty again?"

"Mhmm. I swear, it sucks balls doing toilet duty nearly every day. Do you know how menial this job is?"

"I wish. Anyways, got to report to the kitchen, have chili duty today. Talk to you later mate. I'll be sure not to spit in your food, but I'll-"

Just as Brandt was about to say something demoralizing about Big Brother, one of the prison guards walked by Andres, to make sure he wasn't speaking badly about the Warden.

"-make sure to give our great Warden a nice meal, cooked and prepared as if this were a five star kitchen"

Brandt smiled and coughed as the prison guards walked past him, and then breathed a sigh of relief, knowing he was in the clear, and could "freely criticize" the Warden, and whatnot. He fixed his composure, and brushed the dust off his white jumpsuit.

"Alright, with that piece of bullcrap finally being spewed out, I have to get to work now. Catch you after dinner, alright?"

Brandt rushes over with his group of prisoners, and leaves Vivas alone by himself. Since he was the only person in charge of cleaning toilets for the day, he went to the supply closet in order to get his materials for cleaning. After a short walk from the quad, he opened the door which led to a four-by-six feet closet, with a flickering lightbulb inside the supply closet. He took his modified shopping basket, with an industrial sized toilet cleaner, a plunger, and a toilet cleaner, and began to head towards the bathroom, which was right next to the supply closet.

Inside the bathroom, it was all white, as was the Federal Prison's design and layout, to reflect the concept of rehabilitation, and renewal. Inside, there were toilets, stalls, urinals, sinks, mirrors, and a small radio, which allowed Richard to have been kept up to date. The station was tuned to 88.5 FM, call sign TVOX, which was an abbreviation for Telino Voice. As Telino was the largest city in the region, all radio stations in Penedès began with the letter T. He was hearing about coverage for his former job, a seat on the Federal Council, and began to turn up the volume, to listen in.

"...thank you for the insight, Dr. Hailey. Now, with the rise of the Corvax party, and their gubernatorial candidate slash Federal Council candidate Porter Augustin, tension is rising, and belief in the Corvax Party is beyond the roof. Various advertisements are going up across the region with the Corvax Party funding them all. Before the resignation of Richard Vivas, people voting for the Corvax Party was at a measly 4% for their first choice. Now, that number has risen to 30% for their first choice. The Corvax Party has swooned independents, and it may seem that for the first time since the death of revolutionary leader Ximena Linette in the year 1786, the centre-left Convergence, which has ruled Penedès politics since then, may lose an elusive seat. And with Federal Council elections slated to come up in every other region, the Corvax Party is ready to mold the nation in their perfect view.

Up next on the Telino Voice, Janene Alberici takes you around the region with various melodies on Sounds of Esporitva. Now, for everyone here at PoliTalk, I am Edurne Gilliam, and get out and vote."

Richard stood up, and looked outside the small window, where the radio was. He noticed a large billboard outside, with what appeared to be the Corvax Party's official flag, and text next to said flag. The billboard had just changed to a battle-cry for the Party.

Image
"We are the change you wish to see in the world."

Richard knew something was up. I mean, he basically rigged the elections, and he was getting a vibe from the Corvax Party that they were being funded by a foreign government. He knew that the Corvax Party were going to win, not with votes, but with money. This was either the beginning of a new age in Yttribia, or just enough pissed off people who voted against the hivemind.

It was likely the former.

Injuries, Farves, and Jewel: Oh My!

-by Tammy Ilvellscia

A load of things to cover, in not that much time, so if I may, I'd like to get started quickly. First off, since this is a satire site, we plan on keeping the header, instead of changing it to "ChurchOfVilhjalmsson.cy", or until we feel like it.

Also, apologies for the lack of a group preview, because in layman's terms, how the hell do I do a group preview when we're a third into the group stage? That doesn't even make sense, however, with the situation going on in Kazamatsuri, we ask that our friends in the nation, and across our multiversal borders donate to the Kazamatsuri-jin. You may, and should, donate either via the Purpuram Consociatio, Yttribia's non-profit organization for natural disaster relief and one of the associations that provide health to those in need, at their official donation website at http://purpuram.cy/kazamatsuri, or via your local charitable organization. All of your Periodens, or whatever your local currency may be, will go directly to funding the Kazamatsuri-jin recovery process, by providing medicine, food, bottled water, and whatever is needed.

Now, Cecil Herberts, interim manager, is totally fine after the events that occurred throughout the World Cup 68 Finals Draw, which took place in Legalese City. The reason why he wasn't fine was that the Lord Almighty Gregory, of Gregoryisgodistan, happened to be punched by his Holiness during the live draw, even though the reason for the act of pugilism was uncalled for, and was sent to the hospital. The delegation was replaced by Tammy Ilvellscia, who also happened to be in Legalese, until Herberts was released early. He was then hit with a cactus, by a Guayabalese lunatic, in the derriere, thus forcing him to head to the hospital once more. Simon Jewel, who we have big news about, also happened to be in Legalese during the draw, and was the temporary official representative for the Yttribian delegation. And then, somehow Cecil Herberts returned once more, and stayed throughout the entire draw. But his shirt was ruined as the Lord Almighty Gregory smashed prune juice all over himself. However, this did not send him back towards the hospital for an unprecedented third time, so he remained for the rest of the draw. Despite a black eye, Herberts was confirmed ready for this match. When asked about what the hell went on down in Legalese, Herberts told the Church, "I don't [expletive removed] know, life is just like that, but I'm hoping we are ready for our next three matches."

Also, the Yttribian Football Federation is confirming that their search for a new coach to fill the vacant spot of head coach is currently underway, both inside the nation, and across the multiverse as well. For one, Cecil Herberts is obviously one of the top choices to receive promotion to the illustrious position of head coach, mainly because these three games are by far a trial run for what could possibly a new run. Despite Herbert's more neutral leanings when it comes to fielding (I mean he still fields a 4-4-2 in this day in age), but who knows, he might bring a more offensive minded team to the next set of WCQs. Some coaches from abroad who may possibly take the Ravens to such great heights in the near future include the fifty-three year old Daniel Cardona of Felix, who isn't as offensive as the other Felixian offered, Antonio Leggièri, who is too bold and brash. Guayabalese Mauro Aranzamendi, who currently manages SKA Neftekhimik KK, a top club in the Liga Primer, is also on the Federation's shortlist, and uses a highly modified Yttribian formation, known as the "5-2-1-2" in the country. In the formation, two back midfielders, who can also become defensive midfielders whenever is necessary, and it also allows for three strikers to be utilized as well, so this formation is full of surprises. Two managers from the nations of Super-Llamaland and co-host Kazamatsuri are interested in sending a coach over to Yttribia, but the big reveal for a head coach or assistant coach will come at the end of the CoH group stage. (OOC: Once again, please TG me any managers/coaches who you think might be suited to work in Yttribia)

Now time for a quick wrap on tonight's match between la Vherderoja and those lovable Ravens. As anyone who follows football, or soccer, or whatever you call it nowadays, the Yttribians competed in the fifty-fourth Baptism of Fire, which partly took place in, you guessed it. The Licentian Isles Farfadillis. Never mind the fact that the team never even played in Farfadillis, (but two players did, frelsari okklar himself, and Terry Hyme, who is slated to join Farf champion Avenida Principal for a title defense, along with the anti-Saviour "talented" player Ross Horn), let alone against the Atlantian Oceanian, and Di Bradini Cup winners. So this was a match-up between the student, and the master, per say. La Viola, the ultras who are finally starting to make a comeback, were halted in their comeback journey, as the situation in Kazamatsuri is far too much for those involved. So sparse attendance, but damn what a good game it was.

To kick things off, Farf striker Friekder Dandalleion of legendary Strike FC (teammate of Rico Matthews), had a nice goal from inside the penalty box, thanks to the set-up by his mind-reading buddy Ichi Tuzzio. However, that goal was probably the only highlight of the first half, with various missed chances by the Farves, and some by the Ravens as well. However, the second-half began to heat up as Herberts made an early substitution, placing defensive midfielder Onésime Rios on the bench due to stomach pains, and bring in the new rave, Michel di Mercurio, who was finally able to make his first appearance for the National Team. Several minutes later, Ivaktör Bârr, defender for Valhallan club Northbrook Diamonds FK, subs in for Leo Fakkotti. La Vherderoja finally got their chance to score when Kâí made a stellar run, while breaking the Yttribian Wall, and crushing their morale, and made a stellar shot from a crazy angle, which had no chance of being stopped. However, the Yttribians appeared to have finally gotten out of their funk in the 66th, when Fairclough fought off the Farf defense, and placed it in the net from inside the penalty box, bringing the score to 2-1. Terry Hyme is pulled out for Venesclas School in the sixty-seventh minute. La Vherderoja use up their final two subs, one minute after the goal (Dragãozý for Roga), and in the eightieth minute (Kühâx for Fôx). The Farves sealed, and locked in the match in the eighty-fourth minute, when Terán scores for la Vherderoja, bringing the score to 3-1, and practically sealing the match, and the three points for Farfadillis. Quinones comes in for Vilhjalmsson, as the game was pretty much handed to the Farves. That doesn't mean that the match was over, but the Ravens got in one with School scoring his first goal in a while with a nice header thanks to Gustave Mynatt's stunning passing skills, bringing the match to 3-2 in the eighty-ninth minute. A few minutes later, the final whistle blew, with la Vherderoja dominating the match, and sure as hell gave the Ravens a good old fashioned lesson on offense.

The loss against Farfadillis puts Yttribia in dead last in Group H, as Cosumar and Astograth tied 4-4, in what appeared to be a grand shootout. Here's the table showing how everyone stands today, and whatnot. Yttribia will play the remainder of the group in Horizon Bridge, Yuigahama.

Group H Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Farfadillis 1 1 0 0 3 2 +1 3

And with that out of the way, the news relating to Simon Jewel is one of great joy to announce! Simon Jewel, former manager of the National Team, and current manager of some Guayabalese club, will be joining the Church's writing team! Jewel has a double major in English and Computer Science from Fontvieille University, so he knows what the hell he's doing on here. He will have a a weekly column on the Church of Vilhjalmsson, with stuff relating to various footballing news, and will be a regular poster on our general forum parts, so he's basically going to be one of us. When he was asked on his new position as a columnist, he told me, "I am so ready, this is going to be uncensored, for the most part, and this'll speak my mind freely." So please, if you ever see him post a comment, don't forget to drop by and welcome him to our lovely church! Until then, I'll see you all on the flipside, and be on the lookout for Simon Jewel's first article on here!

Tammy Ilvellscia is a blogger, who has a job with the Telino Guardian in the Sports Department. A graduate with a Communications degree from the University of Telino-Caldas, she frequently writes about multiversal football on the site, with a main focus on Yttribians abroad. She supports Telino, Xavi Vilhjalmsson's first club, and Crystopolis City, where he plays right now. Ilvellscia currently lives with her husband, and two children in downtown Telino, better known as Dowtel.

ON THE ROAD - PATRIOTS vs WEST ANGOLA

Miss me? Probably not.

Welcome again, lads and lasses, to this On the Road series - now actually on the road, specifically in the Wind Festival aka Kazematsuri which is a bloody weird name for a place in my view, but I guess you can't argue with a festival except that evidently God is doing so presently as the only Wind being Festive is currently hurricanes. Fortunately, football is more sacred than God, and nobody here at least was harmed.

I, like many, glumly predicted Brenecia would fail to turn up at the Cup of Harmony, but after this victory that totally shakes up that particular bet, as West Angola almost literally failed to turn up. They showed up after a while, didn't really accomplish much and went home. Slatesaver used a pretty young and handsome eleven, which is cause for hope because maybe with a bit of luck our players might actually be able to run a few yards.

I'd like to say this was largely due to our own strengths, but it was a poor match and watching it I quickly got distracted by the neutral crowd, who had obviously lost a bet or something to end up at this bloody fixture. I'm just about to start setting up a strip poker gambling ring in the stands when Brad Kuepper finally nets the ball with the first clear chance of the game (made by My Boy Danny Snowden) and neither side really seems up for creating many more. While I'm staring admiringly at My Boy Danny Snowden a steward notices the gambling ring and threatens to set the police on us and we glumly pack it in. I try to argue that what's the worst he can do, stop us watching a Brenecia match and he just says 'yeah' and I'm like 'oh' and I give up.

The second half the Angolans look a little more up for this but the Patriots have an answer all over the pitch and we miss a couple clear chances and Connell who is back in goal bless her makes a bloody wonderful save from the Angolans' only shot of the match and we've done it, we've won 1-0 in the pivotal fixture. We might actually get to the second round, and win a game. And the fact that combining those would be a first in Brenecian terms at the CoH tells you... a lot, really. It tells you a lot. I'll see you at the next match, assuming there's no rains of fire or any of that kind of shit.

Lipir district, Serenberg; outside the Cathedral of St. Peter

"What on earth is he doing?" That's what the murmurings of the crowd amounted to, and this man was attracting quite a crowd. He looked almost like one might stereotypically expect a monk to look; features almost completely concealed by the brown robe he was wearing. He spoke in tones that were of a very formal, almost archaic-sounding, dialect of the Kinitar language, and he had emerged from the grandiose building, which formed a backdrop to his rant, with an important message for the people of Serenberg, that he simply had to deliver at once.

"Kazamatsuri is under threat of destruction!" his voice boomed. "This is the act of a God against whom this nation has sinned, fatally and irrevocably! And do the people of Kinitaria seek to warn Kazamatsuri away from her destructive path? No, the authorities choose to associate with this sinful nation instead! The Lord warns us to not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, to see whether they are from God! That's 1 John, chapter 4. And I am here to deliver this message to the people: Kirigiri-no-Mikoto, of whom you may have heard rumours, is a false prophet, a demon, an abomination in the eyes of her God and creator! Kirigiri-no-Mikoto will not repent, for her beingness is pure evil, nothing more! There is no hope for what is at this point a shadow of Creation, but brothers and sisters, there is hope for the people of Kazamatsuri, and there is hope for you, too, if you repent! There is hope for the government of Kinitaria, if they cease to support such a destructive-"

That's about as far as he got before a line of police officers, who had noticed the minor disturbance, began to urge passers-by away from the area. Expressions of religious belief were tolerated to quite a high degree (for a repressive communist government, anyway), but that didn't extend so far as to give these religious groups the power to criticise the government. That would be taking civil liberties too far, after all, certainly in the eyes of the Kinitar Politburo and Premier Kucinič.

The impromptu street preacher was being led away. He wasn't struggling against the officers who gripped his arms. What he didn't know was that, across the country, the Kinitar Orthodox Church - the largest religious organisation in the country, and the one of which he was a practicioner - was making a concerted effort to explain what Easter meant to the citizens of Kinitaria - although, admittedly, not many of the gospel preachers used that opportunity to attack the foreign policy of the Kinitar state. But it was a quite deliberate test of state power by the Church. They wanted to see how far the authorities would allow them to push the unwritten rules the communist government had set up regarding freedom of religious practice.

In general, it seemed that they were allowed to speak their message. To some extent, the authorities were afraid of interfering with the Church, which was seen as a historical bastion of Kinitar society. The Church would even be able to use its influence, in the coming days, to get almost all of its members that had been arrested for overstepping the mark off with a slap on the wrist. The rank-and-file proletariat might not have been able to see it, but the impact of this was one that showed, to those who could read the situation, that the government was not as in control as they might like to think.

The scene, a grand, ornate room, with lavish furnishings. The seats have gold trim, the picture frames - which may once have held portraits of the esteemed Kinitar nobility, back when Kinitaria had a monarchy, but now of course only hold paintings that adhere to the socialist realism style of culture - also looked like gold, if not gold-lined at the very least. The decorative window at the south end of the room overlooked the south bank of the Dalič peninsula, on which the city of Mi'ato stood, and out into the Secocia Sea.

When Kinitaria had a monarchy, this was the royal residence. Those days were almost two centuries ago now. The building had been reappropriated many times in its existence, originally by the very first Kinitar provisional republican government as workers' residential accommodation. The workers' government of Premier Kucinič saw no need for such frivolities, however, and the building - now dubbed the Palace of Workers' Solidarity - served as the seat of government of the Kinitar state.

Today, the purpose of this room in particular - once a function room in the royal palace - was to host a meeting of the Politburo, de facto the most powerful institution in Kinitaria. A Politburo is supposed to function like a cabinet, and is made up of the various State ministers and overseen by an appointed chairman. In all practical terms, the Kinitar Politburo was the government. It would propose legislation, and the legislative body, the Supreme People's Council, would merely rubber-stamp the decisions. Of course, checks and balances were totally non-existent. The Politburo didn't have a great deal of constitutional power, but it wasn't as though anyone was going to hold them to account as per the constitution. They had the army, for a start.

"Item 3, Kazamatsuri," one of the delegates read from the sheaf of papers in front of him. This was Pavro Termelev, the minister for infrastructure, although most of the delegates looked alike anyway. 80% of them were male, wearing expensive suits, and generally seemed to be ageing men who had become cemented in the power structure of the nation, despite this particular form of government only having existed for three years at this point.

"Kazamatsuri has been flagged as a matter of some concern by some of our comrades," Termelev elaborated. "It seems that they have been suffering from an unusual spate of natural disasters lately. Now, some have attributed this to the work of a malevolent supernatural force that they are calling, ah, Kirigiri-no-Mikoto, but-"

"Superstitious nonsense," snorted Rosa Lisineva, one of the only female members of the Politburo, who served as the foreign minister.

"-but, comrade Lisineva is quite right, we should pay no attention to such primitive superstition, as it does us no good," Termelev pressed on. "The main issue we have cause for alarm on, surrounding Kazamatsuri, is this football tournament we are working with them on. We have reports that attest to the repressive nature of their government, as well as some bizarre, ah... it says here that parts of the country saw rain of mashed potatoes recently. In any case, I am led to believe that the situation is worth keeping an eye on."

"It would be useful to have more contacts in Esportiva, and I am led to believe that the government of Kazamatsuri is one with which I can do business." This was Irin Kucinič himself. His word was law even amongst the members of the Politburo. He wasn't above seeing his most senior officials disappear, if he was questioned. "I suggest that arrangements be made for an official state visit, in the name of fostering good relations with their government, especially as now is a time for our countries to work together, considering this tournament is happening."

"As you wish, comrade," acknowledged Termelev, scribbling down some notes on his sheet. "If there are no objections, the next item we must discuss - and this one with some urgency - is Chyr."

All the old grievances were coming back in Chyr. The feeling of economic dissatisfaction, and of being cut off from the central Kinitar government, had led to a sense of alienation on the streets of the eponymous regional capital. But the city of Chyr was quiet. The city of Chyr had hundreds, possibly thousands, of extra troops patrolling it, especially dispatched to make sure the city stayed quiet, at least for the duration of the Cup of Harmony. It wouldn't do to have these foreign visitors exposed to the rebelliousness of the natives, would it?

Some of them tried, of course. Displays of the regional flag of Chyr - a red-green-red horizontal tricolour that had long since been banned - could occasionally and spontaneously be seen, at least for a few seconds, after which it would be forcibly removed and the flag-bearer hauled off for an unpleasant chat with the Kinitar authorities. The army would try not to cause too much damage where anyone was around to see it, at least.

The city of Paravači was not quiet. This city was located in the northern part of the Chyr region, and used to be a lot more important than it is now. It was historically the first point of contact between Chyr and the outside world, the port city being the first in Chyr to receive any sort of sustainable foreign trade. This was only relatively recently, a couple of centuries ago, when the entire island had been forcibly dragged into the modern era, having to open up to foreign trade and embark on a modernisation drive.

Paravači had outgrown itself. The city of Chyr itself, which was also a port, was the region's main trading hub now. The docking and shipbuilding industries, once a major employer in Paravači, had gone to the wall. And now, Paravači was in open revolt. The authorities were focused on making Chyr look nice for the football fans who might head there for the Cup of Harmony. They were not anticipating a small periphery city, a shadow of its former self, to explode in their faces.

And yet, it had. There was a flashpoint, and no-one knew what it was, but groups of largely unarmed demonstrators had seized several key locations in the city, including the headquarters of the local branch of the Socialist Party. They were making a concerted effort to hold it, using whatever they could get hold of as crude weaponry. A filing cabinet had been dropped onto the head of a policeman trying to gain entry, although how demonstrators got it onto the roof is anyone's guess.

The government is well aware of the chaos in Paravači - or, as it is now dubbing itself, the Paravači People's Commune - but they're struggling to find the resources to do anything about it. Troops are tied down in Chyr, and if they leave, that city is bound to erupt into chaos as well. It's truly a catch-22 for the central Kinitar government, who are facing a heretofore unseen challenge to their power.

"I'm Jenny Jones..."

"...and I'm Kevin Smith..."

"...and welcome to the Sound of the Sloths, where you join us for Schiavonia's opening game of the Cup of Harmony against the hosts, our troubled neighbours Kinitaria. They'll no doubt be hoping that some success with their team will bring them something to cheer about, and are heavy favourites here. Both teams are able to name a full-strength team, so we're ready to kick off here."

"And with us today is the transcriber, ready to write down the things that we say and send them off to the hosting committee in the vain hope that it might be of some benefit to the team. Say hello, transcriber..."

"..."

"...as you can hear the transcriber is incredibly quiet, but comes with us to all of the broadcasts we make. It also means that the show can go out around the world in text format, not only audio."

"It's good work that the transcriber does. Although I didn't envy the job he had when we were doing the combined World Cup and Cup of Harmony preview show..."

"..."

"What?"

"..."

"What's that look for? Oh... Oh no. You're telling me... you didn't transcribe the show?"

"..."

"We broadcast an entire hour long show, and you didn't write a single word of it down? Was there a computer error?"

"..."

"No... so what in the multiverse..."

"..."

"Over-run by Garundis? Well, they have to live somewhere, I guess. But we're glad that, despite all that is going on in Kinitaria, you have actually found some space in the stadium here to do your work. And there is always the helicopter ride back to Schiavonia to complete your work in before we get overrun again. So no excuses this time, OK?"

"..."

"Great. Speaking of jobs, I heard that you had a new one."

"..."

"Not you, transcriber. Kev."

"A new job? But I'm still here. Surely if I had a new job I wouldn't be here with you?"

"So was that not you on the advertisements for the STB?"

"STB? Starblaydia? I know they're not the power they once were, but they don't really need Schiavonia's number two commentator to advertise their nation."

"No, the STB. Schiavone Tourist Board."

"Oh. Oh, yes. The tourist board gave me a job to try and sell Schiavonia as an alternative location to visit for people going to the Cup of Harmony if they think that staying in Kinitaria might not be safe or good for them. An alternative, you might say."

"You did say, twice there."

"Oh. Oh yes."

"Right, as the first shot comes in from Chester goes flying well wide. So has the campaign had much success?"

"Well, it doesn't seem to have."

"How many extra visitors have we had?"

"None."

"So... hang on, none at all?"

"Not a single one."

"Well, that really is something. I mean, you would expect a handful of visitors to come over perhaps, but none at all?"

"It seems a little strange, doesn't it?"

"You had pressed the record button, hadn't you?"

"Oh yes! Indeed, I pressed it twice, just to make sure."

"Er... Kev..."

"Yes?"

"You do know that pressing the button once starts the record, and pressing it again stops it again."

"I... It does what?"

"It stops the recording."

"Stops it?"

"Yes."

"So I..."

"You haven't actually recorded the ad."

"Oh."

"So nobody will have heard it."

"Shall I do it again sometime?"

"And how will you remember what to say?"

"Well, the transcriber wrote it down."

"So the transcriber wrote down your advertisement, but didn't write down our massive preview show?"

"Well, it was a lot easier. He just sat in your seat."

"In my seat?"

"Well, there wasn't a Garundi sat in your seat!"

"You know, you could have just politely asked the one in the transcriber's seat to move on."

"Have you tried to reason with these people? They're... well, completely unreasonable."

"Oh, a chance here for Kulisev, a great ball through from Costica, low shot, but held on to by O'Connor. And you're right, but they are improving."

"They are. And having the Cafundélese-Schiavones is helping us out."

"They really have been good for us. They've brought in a sense of how Schiavonia's commune-based society can thrive in an international market-capitalism based system. They are a wonderful blend of their two nationalities of origin, showing the extreme capitalist entrepreneurship of Cafundéu and the philanthropic nature of the Schiavonia to become something quite wonderful. And they've managed to communicate with the Garundis in a way that we couldn't do, with our cultures being so significantly different, they've been somewhat of a stepping stone between the two, overcoming our differences and having a positive effect on all aspects of life on the island."

"I just meant that it means that there's more non-Garundis to keep them under control."

"Yes. That, too."

"It means that the place is getting overcrowded, though."

"Well, yes. But the Schiavone powers-that-be are trying to find a new home."

"And how are they doing that?"

"Well, they're not asking you to do an advert for them, that's for sure!"

"Oi!"

"Ah, come on..."

"Well... fair's probably fair."

"Indeed. No. In fact, they've asked us to include it in this broadcast."

"In this broadcast? Why?"

"Because we have the biggest international audience on all of SIBN. And we don't need to rely upon the record button, because we're already broadcasting!"

"That's quite clever, isn't it?"

"Well it is... as is that little shimmy from Limcič, gets him past Lyku, shot from the corner of the penalty area... goal! Kinitaria are in the lead! And you have to say, that is a fantastic goal!"

"Wow! What a way to get this Cup of Harmony under way! That's going to make the locals a lot happier!"

"It certainly will, Kev. Look at them! They're on the verge of rioting! And there are flares going off in the crowd! Blimey, they really have reacted to that goal!"

"I think we need to look out! They look crazy!"

"They do somewhat! But if the hosts can produce more of that, then they will undoubtedly go a long way in this competition."

"Absolutely. Which was something that you said in the preview to the Cup of Harmony that nobody at the hosting committee would have been aware of."

"I did say that, yes. Maybe we should run through that review show again."

"Well, it wouldn't be that hard, would it? You said that Schiavonia would finish last in the group, and Benny Sanderson said that our opponents would be favourites to beat us and that we would treat them with the upmost respect."

"Which was, if I remember, exactly the same as he said about every opponent before the start of World Cup Qualifying. And we did alright there."

"We did, indeed. But wasn't your prediction for the winners of the World Cup and Cup of Harmony based on who our neighbours are?"

"No, it was a complete coincidence. I said that Kinitaria would win the Cup of Harmony because they have a good team, a new head coach bringing fresh ideas and it would be a perfect way to take the locals' minds off the political situation in the country, temporarily raising spirits on all sides of the nation."

"So not because they are the closest nation to the current island of Schiavonia."

"Not at all. And i picked Audioslavia for the World Cup because they have gained momentum as the qualifiers went on, and the more the current team seem to play with each other, the better they get."

"So not the fact that Audioslavia is now in the place where Schiavonia was once."

"That was over a hundred and thirty years ago. But well remembered from the history lessons we did."

"Thanks."

"Anyway, it's more likely than your predictions. Who did you go for?"

"Schiavonia."

"Really?"

"Well, I'd grown affection to our fellow returning play-off makers, but McKleigh and Kernansquillec don't seem to be here, so I went for us."

"There is only one team in the entire field that are ranked worse than us."

"There's always hope, Jenny. Always hope."

"And for the World Cup, you went for Northern Sunrise Islands on the basis that they released a computer game."

"Well, they did, but I don't understand it. First of all, I tried to play as Schiavonia, but we weren't on it. So then I went online to see if it was a downloadable addition, and again, no. So I chose McKleigh instead, and then it turned out that it wasn't even a football game, but these odd characters fighting each other. Which is just totally wrong. So I've sent it back. That type of thing is just wrong!"

"Well said, Kevin! But maybe that's why there is no Schiavonia on it!"

"What is?"

"Well, it is terribly un-Schiavone, isn't it?"

"It is?"

"Well, yes. That's why you threw the game away, and that's why when the people from Snowflake Games approached the SFF, they said that they would prefer not to have a character in a game of such nature. They said that people would have the option to create such a character if they wished."

"Couldn't they have just made them a Garundi?"

"Kev, stop it! The Garundis are learning about Schiavonia very well."

"They tried stealing a helicopter last week."

"Well, yes... but if that had been six months ago, they would have tried setting the helicopter on fire. Or fighting it."

"Ha-ha! Like the time when they tried fighting the S.B. King Alfredo when it ran aground!"

"They were helping us push it back out into open water."

"I've never seen anyone do a flying spin kick to get a boat back into the ocean!"

"Look, they're not the brightest, OK? It was an incredibly unconventional technique. But they're definitely getting better. Unlike Schiavonia, as Kulisev goes close again..."

"If you say so."

"He did. That could only have been inches away from O'Connor's far post."

"I meant about the Garundis' learning."

"They're doing alright."

"If you say so. But none of them have made it into the Schiavonia football team yet."

"You just wait until the regional championships come around!"

"Which ones?"

"Kev, we're advertising for a new home. It could be any of them!"

"A new home?"

"Were you listening when I told you about it earlier? Because of the overcrowding on our tiny island?"

"Overcrowding?"

"You know, sometimes I wonder why you persist with commentary."

"My dad..."

"...got you the job. I know. But maybe we should replace you."

"Who with?"

"Well, there's only one other person in this commentary box."

"The transcriber?"

"You could swap. What do you think of that?"

"Not you. Transcriber, what do you think of that?"

CoH 60 Blog: Gentle Breeze's Story, Part II
by ESPN Staff

Part I

After her reasonably successful stint as a starter during World Cup 62 qualifying, Gentle Breeze earned a promotion in the depth chart, officially becoming Twilight Striker's second-choice goalkeeper for the national team. During the injury-filled 63rd World Cup qualifying campaign, the young pegasus again took over for the sidelined High Soarin' for a few matches until she was also injured.

Fortunately, Gentle Breeze didn't take long to recover from her injury and was fully fit in time for the 26th Di Bradini Cup, where she started every match for the Little Ponies. It was in Vilita that the ever-improving Equestrian goalkeeper first made a name for herself, making a number of highlight reel saves as the Equestrian States stormed all the way to a third place finish. Not long after the Di Bradini Cup, the Whitetail Foresters cashed in on their academy's most promising talent, selling Gentle Breeze to the Ponyville Galaxy.

Over the next year, Gentle Breeze would go from a rising national star to one gathering considerable international attention. Serving as a more than competent backup throughout the Equestrian States first successful qualifying attempt at World Cup 64, the stage was set for the ambitious pegasus mare to impress the multiverse at the 27th Di Bradini Cup.

To Be Continued...

Albaie a Empire Rebuilding.

Field Marshall Duke Michael Deberen of Harlington Hall Lord Commanding Regent of the Imperium of Albaie Lord Protector of Dubrack's Town Lord Governor of Newfoundland

He had always thought ruling was meant to be fun and exciting. It really wasn't. He had been tired ever since the Emperor's shooting. The burden of the Empire had fallen on him and he had been left to rebuild. His brother had led an almost successful campaign in the World Cup and the team technically playing for him had entered the Cup of Harmony. He would normally be with his brothers enjoying the football but right now he was juggling the demands of the Imperial Army and the Imperium. He had managed his fathers estates after his injury but this was different. His father's lands were small only a few thousand his new duty was a few billion. In theory it was the same duty but magnified but it was not the same. Every day hundreds of petitioners lined up to ask him for something but he didn't know what to do half the time and the other half was mostly improvisation or luck. He'd rather be back at Gordain then have to sit in that chair again. It was a beautiful chair but it was so imposing and it almost seemed like if he made a mistake the chair would reap it's revenge with the roaring dire wolfs and fearsome warrior carvings.

He looked himself over again in the mirror. There he stood in full dress uniform. His uniform was that of the Imperial 1st Legion Field Marshall which meant he chose his own. A red scarlet jacket with all of his medals on his left pocket while he wore black trousers and high original style Wellington boots. Atop his head was a bicorne and around his neck hung his badge of office as Imperial Regent a golden chain of small crowns. Except for the medals and the necklace it was quite a plain uniform just the way he liked it as once he took off the medals and chain the enemy would not be able to pick him out in a crowd and he could go about his business with no threats.

The shooting had taken him by surprise. The man had been such a loyal soldier the entire war but then he had tried to kill the man he had been loyal too. The Knights Of The Body had received criticism for not protecting the Emperor but the Knights who now protected the hospital had been given a pardon by him and Michael knew it wasn't their fault after all it had always been common procedure to not check the Imperial Staff and this was the first ever attempt by such a close member of the Staff. If anything they had come off lightly from the shooting. Yes the Emperor was badly wounded and may never fully recover and had yet to come out of hospital and wouldn't for a few weeks but he could have died. Michael thought the regency was bad now he shuddered to think what it would be like if he was regent until Prince Dubrack came of age.

He sat down at his desk and looked down at the paper in front of him. It was a message from Sir Artem Zwanokovich Captain of the Dubrack's Town Guard Eastern Gate asking for tougher controls on the influx of refugees coming from the old Rebel lands. Sir Artem wanted to set up a refugee camp outside the city to house the extra civilians but Michael couldn't do that. By Imperial Law it was not allowed during war and for 6 months after it in case of a resurgence in military activity for there to be any buildings built by the government outside the city defenses and all already built were to be pulled down. It said so in Imperial Dubrack's Town Law 1803 a law made over 200 years ago stopped him from doing what was desperately needed. The law didn't even make sense in the present day and age. He understood in 1803 there were the large city walls known as the White Walls which were a series of star forts interlinked built only 12 years previous to replace the Black Walls system of the inner city made up of almost castles linked by walls that having buildings against the walls cause problems but today there was now the Grey Walls, the Silver Walls and the Lines of Saint Ruk and the Lines of Saint Leif. The serious of increasingly up to date defensive lines and the recent trenches joining fire emplacements no longer meant that they needed one clear line of defense as the huge number of defensive emplacements and confusing layout of the city meant it was already nigh on impossible to take in it's present state. He also knew if he was the Emperor he could over turn the law but as Regent all he could do was put it too the vote and that was nigh on useless as he would probably have left office by the time it even came to the floor.

All he could do was pray for the Emperor's speedy recovery and try and hold the Empire together.

Knights Clinch Second Round Birth

Another win and the Knights have assured themselves a spot in the playoffs of the 60th Cup of Harmony. Behind a 3-1 defeat of Kazamatsuri the Purple Knights have made it to six points after two games in the group stage. The win also assures the Knights the top position out of Group E as Bears Armed and Nexxus Drako tied, meaning only Kazamatsuri could catch them and they obviously would lose out on head to head. That means even with a final group stage matchup against Nexxus Drako 3 days from now the Knights will be moving on to the next round of the tournament and can rest some of the starters to get prepared for yet another big game.

The game did not start out how the visiting fans wanted it to the host team scored the early goal, putting the boys in Gold down early. But it quickly went the way of the Purple, gold and green rather fast. The Knights tied it up behind a brilliantly struck ball from forward Brian Ibrahim. Ten minutes later the Knights made it 2-1 on a nicely placed ball over the head of the keeper after a tricky piece of work on a bouncing ball. The Knights would end all doubt of who would win the day as substitute Grant Fauejeau won a header on a Mark Tlumach free kick in the 83rd minute making it 3-1 to the home side.

Anna Beans and the Jeru FC coach Andre talking after a game (not televised)

Anna: Well done Andre, you made the next round. I mean beating the Ponies isn't some trivial task by any means
Andre: I think we're playing very well because the boys don't want to go home yet. I also think the Ponies aren't playing very well either.
Anna: So we just have Zenic left
Andre: They are eliminated anyway
Anna: I guess you should win then
Andre: Yes but these boys aren't that reliable

Anna: Getting into the stadium was a bit of a adventure
Andre: Yes, moving around is too
Anna: You don't know if that group of people are rebels or local government
Andre: Yes, you talk to rebels and government get you.
Anna: I mean, even interviewing people is tricky. You might interview the wrong person and you're in trouble.
Andre: Yes, the boys don't leave their hotel for that reason

Anna: Police are always stopping me to check what I'm doing, think I'm a stripper or something
Andre: But you are stripper actually
Anna: No, I'm a TV anchor who strips
Andre: You still take your clothes off
Anna: Hey, I'm also a journalist too.
Andre: I guess you don't look like an average journalist

Anna: I suppose I do look like your average whore
Andre: Looks like the local team made the next round
Anna: Yes, hopefully we and they win - and avoid each other
Andre: Yes, I don't want to face Melody Pond's team
Anna: At least you know how she operates
Andre: Yes, I mean Princess Melody's Jeruselem pretty much operate the same way

Anna: But we don't have so many rules to watch for
Andre: Footballwise, they might be the same but the management of other things is totally different.
Anna: I guess she doesn't have that much control over her team
Andre: The Kintar football people will really in charge, unlike in Jeruselem where the manager does anything they like really
Anna: Hopefully the Ponies can pull through into the finals
Andre: We beat them but I suspect they were far from their best today

Anna: Yes, I think they are far from their potential
Andre: The boys did very well and held strong still, they don't play female teams very well ...
Anna: Girl teams do beat them a lot
Andre: Yes, but today they did it for once
Anna: Brenecia, those creepy Syndicate people, Kinitaria, Taeshan are through
Andre: Those are quality football teams. We have to not drop the ball

Anna: These boys can do so much more really
Andre: But the results don't show it
Anna: At least we're doing good here
Andre: Much more football though, going to get much harder
Anna: Yes, we will need play Melody Pond's team at sometime
Andre: I know

If you are in search of a story about a successful team in a safe and peaceful country, there are many other places to become familiar with the exploits of more successful national football teams. Continuing along this path will unfortunately make you confront civil unrest, allegations of conspiracy, a disappointing elimination, women's underclothing, and religious dissent. Since there may be many more harmonious teams in this tournament and elsewhere, it is really a waste of time to become invested in the struggles of a team that will clearly not amount to much.

Those of you brave and foolish enough to continue following Zwangzug would have found them, before the game, holding uneasy, muttered conversations. Despite Matilda Kratochvil's fears, none of them seemed to be making explicit mention of politics. But some of the team had visited a Kinitar Orthodox church to observe Easter. "Apparently my church back home had more 'alleluia's," Connor announced, looking up from his phone. "But, uh, the Archregimancy's Greatest Lavra didn't have any in their sermon, so that's going to, like, skew the averages."

"You're kind of competitive about this," Shula mentioned.

"I'm a competitive guy," said Connor. Most of the team were his domestic rivals. It was difficult to make small talk, especially on a theme of "today, I observed the resurrection of God incarnate, and celebrated the ultimate promise of life eternal, but, uh, if that's not your thing and you slept in and all, that's cool too."

"Hey," said Davi, "for future reference, if the choir sings something in German, and you lose track, do you round up or down?"

"You learn German in time to follow along next year," said Connor.

"I can keep up with the Spanish acclamations," Davi protested. "And by Spanish I mean they spell aleluya with a y."

"Hey, did you guys hear about the Electrum allegations?" Evan spoke up.

"More allegations?" asked Dennis. "Just what this tournament needs."

"Someone said they'd paid off the hosts, to get some favorable matchups."

"Wow," said Dennis. "So seedings. Such conspiracy. Very Fixed Draw."

Evan shook his head. "You have spent too long in The Inevitable Syndicate."

"I can't help it, that's how they talk."

"All right," said Martina. "Got my jersey, got my...cleats and stuff, got the armband. Let's do this."

"Yeah," Davi nodded. "Easier said than done."

"We've got this. Pass to me, yeah?" She tapped her cleats against the nearest locker. "I'm feeling lucky."

"You want to score a goal today?" Kratochvil asked.

"I'd like a win. Doesn't matter who records it."

"But are you--Ruan. If for any reason you're taking off your shirt, to reveal some provocative T-shirt message..."

"Men get to take off their shirts all the time, why can't I?"

"Double standards aside, you can't take that risk."

"What if it's a plain T-shirt, is that allowed?"

"I don't know, what color is it?"

"What if I want to swap shirts after the game?"

What if I bench you? thought Kratochvil. What if you get fired? thought Ruan. What if the next coach has no idea who to choose for captain of this crowd? thought the rest of the team.

But instead, Kratochvil just shook her head. "Don't."

There is still yet time to turn back, to imagine a game where Connor gained the confidence to speak up or Martina was able to safely make a statement for peace or Dennis mustered some command of Descriptive English. You might even enjoy learning what happened in Kazamatsuri on Matchday Two instead. Or maybe you would like to read a narrative where Martina did in fact score a goal on Easter. Maybe you would like to even listen to some creative football fans successfully blend their cheers with the Hallelujah Chorus.

But if you are a glutton for punishment and continue reading, then you will learn that Zwangzug got comprehensively outplayed. That Adam Willis got The Inevitable Syndicate off to an early start, and that both Luke Mitchell and Jacob Pratt would record goals later on. That Zwangzug were inept in defense, and Bruce overwhelmed in goal. That The Inevitable Syndicate fans were boisterous, used to tight security, but Zwangzug's spectators were even more scared and more quiet. That there was no telling what the Chyr locals were up to. That Martina shook hands with Bradley Birch after the game, and nothing more. And that, at the end of the match, Zwangzug were eliminated from contention.

"I mean," said Martina, "one game left. Nothing left to lose at this point, yeah?"

"There is a lot left to lose," Kratochvil hissed. She looked like she wanted to throw the book at her, a phrase which usually means "charge with a variety of crimes," or "act without clemency, such as part of a brutal police state," but sometimes means "attempt to physically injure someone from a distance with the nearest projectile to hand," and, on a few special occasions, means "take up a book that has jaded you, that once gave you something to laugh with and now seems to be laughing at you, that makes you feel shallow when you seek closure and resolution, and, in whatever way you can, try to put it to use while placing it as far from yourself as possible."

Unbelievable!

The Dragonflies maneuvered themselves back into the tournament with a stunning 3-0 victory! It has been a while since we have claimed that our national team is good, but games like these remind us of the quality we have in our team. Sure, no head coach, a few new players in the starting XI, and the bad way of leaving the World Cup qualification (playoff losses to both Mytannion and the German American States after an almost flawless group stage run), but the team still knows when to show its class.

Basically, if they didn't win today, it would be all over. In this case, we pushed New Montreal States to elimination with an unbelievable 3-0 victory, while the surprise winners Armakistan and HopNation scored 2 goals each. This means we are just one point behind both HopNation and Armakistan, and a win in the last game suffices to advance to the Round of 16. Even if we draw, we still have a tiny chance to advance, but for this we also need New Montreal States to embarrass HopNation. Because of the 3-0 victory, our goal difference is the thing that could save us. It would be the first time our goal difference is actually better than the opponents', so that is a nice change.

As some have mentioned, our 3-2-3-2 formation is just a simple 3-5-2, and in itself, a 3-5-2 is often associated with attacking teams rather than defensive. Not because of the midfield, but because 'real' defensive teams play with 4 or even 5 defenders at the back. Yesterday night was a showcase of what happens when the team just 'functions' both in defense and offense. In the 22nd minute, Norn passed low to Bagaurunir, who immediately passed back to central back Ulgyban. Norn had already passed the halfway line, and in his place Napertnau took his place at back, but the Francophone midfield was already confused at this point. Ulgyban passed to Napertnau, the best kicker on the team, and he reached Talmis. Talmis now was in the excellent position of having Bagaurunir to pass to in the back, Idrasil and Eregrent next to him 30 meters away from the Paladins' goal, and Terathu and Tokachi in almost scoring position. The big difference is Norn, who still kept going and pulled the defender away from Eregrent. That was an easy pass opportunity for Talmis now, and Eregrent moved the ball up to the right wing. With Norn, Terathu, Tokachi and Idrasil in the box, he had plenty of attackers, while Napertnau and Talmis confined the 6-man midfield to their own half. And remember there are still three defenders at the back, avoiding any counterattack that could have made its way over to our goal. But it didn't even get that far: Eregrent's cross reached Terathu who scored the first Ko-orenite goal at the Cup of Harmony.

The acid rains picked up again after the celebrations, and the players hurried to the dressing room, waiting for the remainder of the first half to continue. After the players came back out 15 minutes later, the Greenblues only fielded three 'attackers': Terathu and Tokachi, in charge of keeping as many defenders busy as they could, and Talmis, the playmaker if the ball got that far upfield. The other players were de facto defenders for the rest of the first half.

A hailstorm passed by the Midori-no-Kaze, pelting the supporters (who were under cover during the rains). The second half was played regardless, because the game was already halted for 15 minutes. After all, hail only hurts, it doesn't kill (at least, not to the extent of acid rain). But guess what the hail was made of. It didn't take long for the tournament officials to pause the game once again, overruling the referee's decision to play on. The players only had a minor hint of acid hail, some of which unthawed, but the fans had a new problem. They had cover from the rain - which was now busted up because of the hail. All of the affected sections were evacuated. The entire area behind Enshadilsa, our own goalkeeper, was empty now, while Ko-orenite fans were making a hell of a noise behind Albies goal. The second half was already underway for a while now, and 36 minutes in, Mullins pulled Tokachi to the ground. It could have been outside of the penalty box, but with so many Greenblue fans yelling, the referee might have misremembered things: anyway, Terathu got ready for a penalty, which he blasted into the top corner. Mullins received his second yellow of the game for complaining after the penalty was already taken (he received his first for taking out Tokachi). A small riot started, and Bagaurunir, Napertnau and Juliasterinthen were booked. The latter would play a large role in the final minutes of the game: a Paladins corner kick was taken care off by the young defender, and the three attacking midfielders were together with the two strikers against only three defenders, which was an easy chance and goal (for Eregrent).

This means that the team still has everything to fight for against surprise group leaders Armakistan. In all of Kazamatsuri's groups, only Taeshan managed to clinch a second round spot, but it has to be said that it could go either way until Fauejeau scored 3-1. All other teams in Kazamatsuri have four points or less. Maybe Kinitaria's lack of natural disasters does not inhibit the teams over there: four teams have already clinched a spot among the final 16. On the topic of second round opponents: Group G teams meet Group H teams, so Cosumar, Farfadillis and Astograth (well, two out of three) meet Armakistan, HopNation and Ko-oren (again, two out of three). As for Groups E and F: Taeshan will probably have Kazamatsuri join them in the second round, taking on any duo from the trio Kandorith, Archregimancy and Albaie.

Group G
Group findings, teams, and game results

We’ve now made it through two match days and our Hops are still sitting in a good position and hopefully will find a way to win on the final match day in order to make it to the next round. Lets have a look at the Match Day 2 teams and game data to see how we are stacking up.

Teams
Armakistan: nickname unknown
A tough, fairly new side that seem to be making their way through some tougher opponents this cycle (WC and COH thus far). The team just took down New Montreal States by a score of 2-1 and they will be looking to match those results against the Hops in order to secure their place in the next round of the Cup of Harmony. As for their starting line-up it looks like they will stick with a 4-4-2 (from what we gathered) and we’ll see Rovers in goal, then in front of him will be Hanson at RB, Boston at LB, and Potters and Evergreen at the CB spots. At the midfield positions we see Darling at RM, Appleby at LM and the ringing Bell brotherly duo (Bobby and Freddy) at CM. Up top we find Kelly and Bucklebury. From reviewing film the team relies heavily on their mids to get the ball to Kelly up top, at least most of the time. Bucklebury, although a very good young player, seems to get himself in trouble off the field so we’ll have to see if his mental game is ready for this match. Shall they win they will no doubt advance, but first they face our Hops.

HopNation: Hops
Our boys in orange sure surprised a few people with their 1-0 win over Ko-oren. Hopefully they can keep up this strong play and take it to the Armakistan side, who also put up a surprise win on day one of this Cup of Harmony. The team also seemed to shake off whatever it was that plagued them in the second half of World Cup Qualifying. Can they maintain their passing presence and put in a few more goals in order to secure their spot in the next round or will they falter and allow the Armakistan team into the next round? Before we can answer that lets see who’s starting for the Hops. Again they will deploy the 4-2-3-1 and have Subanos starting in goal. Lesamnal and Loontas will be the CBs, then we’ll have Raefwar at RB and Wiashrod at LB. The two defensive mids will be Arcerton and Smuemund. The attacking mids will be the same trio with Droimpol in the middle and Loostin and Myer flanking him. Up top we find our man Schytaing. Hopefully the team is ready and done their work in order to get past this next opponent. They may need a little luck too seeing as how the Armakistan side has been playing as of late.

The Game
The game was played at the Sylph Cube which has sustained pitch damage as well as structural damage, so once again this will not be a full capacity fan base. It does look like they have mended some of the pitch damage but there is a rather disturbing section near the half line that seems to have one side elevated about four inches from the other side. They’ve laid turf over it as if no one would notice. Hopefully the players are aware of this and make adjustments as needed when transitioning from one end to the other. The first half of this game saw little to know shooting action as the two teams seemed very well matched and the ball stayed in the middle of the field for most of the time. Possession going into the break was 52% Armakistan 48% HopNation and both sides had just one shot apiece. The second half was opened with Armakistan striking in the first minute as they seemed to attack straight off the kick-off as they sent the ball down the right side for Darling to run onto. This caught the Hops by complete surprise and Darling easily got to the ball sent deep to the corner. He made a centering pass that looked to be intercepted by Loontas, but he over stepped the ball and it went right to Bucklebury who one timed it to Kelly and he easily tapped it past Subanos. Play then continued much the way it did in the first half with both sides matching each others efforts. It was in the 63rd minute that Armakistan struck again, this time off of a corner kick. Appleby played a nice cross in on the corner which met Bobby Bell’s head and went out of Subanos’s reach and into the upper ninty. The Hops were now down 2-0 and needed to find a way back into this match. On the ensuing kick off the Hops answered back and played the ball through a series of one touch passes that started with a drop to Arcerton at the base of the circle. He played the ball wide to Myer then into Droimpol and out again. Then across to Loostin, up to Schytaing and then back to Droimpol. Droimpol played forward again to a curling run by Schytaing and he was one on one against Rovers. Schytaing easily made Rovers come off his line and beat him to the left to get the Hops within 1 and lots of time to play. Again play went back to the back and forth action the two teams seemed accustom to at this point. It was in the 87th minute that the Hops tied things up, this time off of a free kick just outside the box. Schytaing was taken down by Potters, which didn’t look all that bad of a tackle he just got the player rather than the ball. Droimpol would take the kick and boy did he make it count. He sent the ball curling around the wall in what seamed to be an impossible bend, it swerved out of the keepers reach and clanged the post as it went into the side netting. This notched the two sides as 2 goals apiece and is where the game would end, in a 2-2 draw.

The Group
As for the rest of the group, we saw Ko-oren taking on New Montreal States. This was the battle of the winless for this round and Ko-oren seemed to easily dispatch the Paladins. They put in the most goals of any team in a single game so far for Group G with 3 unanswered. With this loss the Paladins are out of contention to move on to the next round, but it brings Ko-oren extremely close to Armakistan and HopNation. In order for both of the newer teams to move on they will both need wins on the final match day of group play. So here’s a look at the table before a quick review of what can happen.

Group G Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Armakistan 2 1 1 0 4 3 +1 4
2 HopNation 2 1 1 0 3 2 +1 4
3 Ko-oren 2 1 0 1 3 1 +2 3
4 New Montreal States 2 0 0 2 1 5 −4 0

If both Armakistan and HopNation win on the final match day they both will be moving on and it looks to come down to GD as to who will finish first. Now if Ko-oren win and HopNation win they both will be moving on, but if Ko-oren wins and HopNation loses we’ll see Ko-oren and Armakistan advance (depending on GD again). If however Armakistan and New Montreal States win we will again see Armakistan and HopNation advancing. So, for the current top three it really is must win in order to lock in an advancement to the next round. But seeing as only two of those three can win, we’ll have to see what happens.

Until then Brew on, Brew well Hoptonians!

Nexxus Drako was sneaking around Yuigahama, well after curfew, trying to piece together just what is going on. He knew the Kiseki-no-michi goddess of creation, Kirigiri-no-Mikoto was responsible, and that she was attempting to create a duplicate of Kazamatsuri, but why the mana was going crazy, he did not know.

It seemed the rules of magic had changed, or were just different in Kazamatsuri. But why Kazamatsurian magic was starting to affect other parts of the region, he could not fathom, not even after tapping into the mana himself, which was surprisingly easy.

What else worried him was the fact that there was almost no magic in Nexxus Drako anymore, or pretty much the whole world, apart from certain places, like the Dreamed Realm. Magic had been replaced by Technology, somewhere along the line, even then, magic was not exactly commonplace back when he had founded the nation.

Nexxus continued sneaking around and started heading back to the hotel, when suddenly, a Kazamatsurian soldier saw him. He shouted something in Mikazukian, which Nexxus couldn't understand, then shouted "Stop right there, foreigner. You are subject to martial law, and for breaking curfew I sentence you to death!"

Nexxus merely turned around, shot a beam of magic, and the soldier was dead. Three other soldeirs came out of a nearby building, witnessing what had just happened. They ran, daring not to cross the magician.

Nexxus ran to the hotel post-haste, and saw that the hotel was now under heavy guard. Nexxus then dived under a car, where he saw an abandoned sniper rifle and semi-machine gun.

He saw that 8 guards were guarding the hotel, so he quickly picked 4 off with the sniper rifle, then killed the other 4 with the machine gun.

He then ran inside and put a magical protective shield around the whole building, while a small army built up outside. The team then woke up at the sound, and started shouting abuse at Nexxus, to which he ran out of the hotel, took the shield down, and teleported back to his dimension, leaving everyone confused.

The army then warned the team not to come out, and left the scene.

Schiavonia 1–0 Gregoryisgodistan

Foot Slaves lose, 1-0

Gregoryisgodistan lost their Cup of Harmony match yesterday, 1-0 to Schiavonia, meaning they are still winless through two games, with only one draw. It was an exciting match, so let's take a look at the summary of key plays.

8th minute: John Blige runs forward on a pass from Benny Sanderson and shoots it for the right post, looking to make it 1-0, but Prune Farmer 3818F made a diving save to keep the opponents off the board. Still 0-0.

15th minute: Guy Who Cleans Up Behind The Elephant at the Circus P0120AZNNAU finds Soccer Captain Laredo Potato in the box and he seemingly scores a goal, but official Lucius Caeparius says he is offsides. Replays indicate that he was not, in fact, offside when the pass was made and the referees got the call wrong.

27th minute: Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Robert Possibe seemingly scores after heading a free kick into the back of the net. However, the referees claim that Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Robert Possibe pushed off a defender and committed a foul, disallowing the goal. Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Robert Possibe is given a yellow card for dissent after arguing with Caeparius. Replays indicate the call was questionable at best and wrong at worst.

36th minute: Pervert Chaser 867530PNC fires a longball at goal and Viliaka O'Connor seemingly bats it away. Soccer Captain Laredo Potato kicks the loose ball over the net for a goal kick. However, replays clearly showed the shot by Pervert Chaser 867530PNC crossed the goal line before O'Connor batted it away. The refs blew the call, again. Pervert Chaser 867530PNC argues with Caeparius but is not given a yellow for dissent.

45th minute: The whistle blows for halftime. Several Foot Slaves yell at Caeparius on his way to the officials' locker room and have to be pulled away by teammates and coaches. Pervert Chaser 867530PNC is given a yellow, as is Government Advisor Lordborn Godsam.

55th minute: Prune Farmer 913881 passes it to Soccer Captain Laredo Potato, who is taken down in the box by Boris Winston for a clear foul. However, Caeparius says play on, and Schiavonia clears it. Replays indicate that Winston took the Gregoryisgodistani forward down from behind in a clear effort to deny him from scoring a goal. It should have been a penalty kick and possibly a red card. Instead, there was no call.

69th minute: John Blige takes the ball in the box, but Government Advisor Lordborn Godsam clears it away. However, Caeparius stops play and calls a foul on Government Advisor Lordborn Godsam even though he made no contact with Blige. As a result, a penalty kick is awarded to Schiavonia. Government Advisor Lordborn Godsam is furious and screams at Caeparius, receiving his second yellow of the day. He is sent off as a result, and the Foot Slaves have to play a man down.

71st minute: Blige takes the penalty kick but Prune Farmer 3818F knocks it away. Police Agent Jorge Warlord clears to keep it scoreless.

83rd minute: Grammar Enforcement Officer ZZNNKUMBYA , who came on for Prune Farmer 913881 after the red card as the Foot Slaves moved to a 4-3-2, is called for a foul in the box after what appeared to be a clean tackle where he won the ball from Conrad Hogan. Replays show Grammar Enforcement Officer ZZNNKUMBYA only made contact with the ball, which was then cleared by Secret Ingelligence Agent [Redacted], Badge Number 98455. Unfortunately, this meant another penalty kick for Schiavonia. Additionally, Caeparius gave Grammar Enforcement Officer ZZNNKUMBYA a yellow card for the phantom foul. Grammar Enforcement Officer ZZNNKUMBYA was naturally furious as he didn't touch anything except the ball, and Hogan didn't even try to make it look like he was fouled. There was no reason for that call other than that Caeparius was biased against Gregoryisgodistan due to it being an enemy of Saintland. In the past, Caeparius had shown bias against nations such as the Equestrian States, as well as nations with female team members. So this was no surprise. In any case, as Grammar Enforcement Officer ZZNNKUMBYA continued to scream at Caeparius, the official showed him another yellow and he was sent off, meaning it was now 11-on-9. Blige took the penalty again and this time he made it. 1-0 Schiavonia.

90th minute: The fourth official signals for three minutes of stoppage.

90+3th minute: Caeparius whistles for the end of the game, with the score still 1-0.

After the game, head coach Retired Soldier Commander Lieutenant Warlord McBurgerKing was furious with the way Caeparius called the game. "He was obviously biased against us," the coach said. "He clearly hates Gregoryisgodistan for calling those heathens what they are, and for opposing the Fake Church, helping Vindicta Progressvm, assassinating King Paulus, bombing their cities with our solar powered bombs, and everything else we did to make us their enemies for good reason. (OOC: We didn't do half those things, they're just propaganda.) I'm sure Caeparius made bad calls against us because of what nation we are. He has a history of making bad calls against Saintland's enemies, like the Equestrian States and any female player. He thinks we insult God. Well Caeparius insults the True God, Lord Almighty Gregory. Death to Saintland!"
