McKleigh Sext Annual American Tackle Football Tourney II

Postby McKleigh » Fri Jan 31, 2014 8:05 am

The McKleigh Sext Annual American Tackle Football Tourney II
Sponsored by kit makerSmash Mouth Unis Image"If you look good, you'll play good!"

McKleigh is happy to announce that we will once again be hosting an American tackle football(gridiron) tournament. This event is slower paced and less RP intensive than many other NS sport events. This event is open to any nation and puppets are welcome with no requirement to disclose if they are a puppet. Tournament will begin on Tuesday, the 18th of February 2014!

REGISTRATION:All you need to do to register is to declare you are registering on this thread, and your nation's focus on either offense, defense, or balance. Registration expires at the end of every tournament. However, once you register you will be included and your spot reserved in the sext annual(every other month) tournaments unless your nation ceases to exist, you request to no longer be included, or you have not renewed your registration and your spot is needed for a new nation. You will be alerted via TG before removal and given an opportunity to re-register.

BONUS POINTS: Role play is welcome and encouraged but not required, a small bonus will be given for RP. RP bonus will be from 1-7 points added to a nation's max offensive and defensive potentials and will be awarded based on a nations RP quality and quantity for the entire event as compared to the average of the participants as a whole. RP bonus will be adjusted before each gameday. A 10 point bonus is given to a nation's offensive or defensive potential based on stated focus at registration, for balanced focus 5 point are awarded to both potentials. For every game played in this event a fractional participation bonus is awarded to both offensive and defensive potentials. Wins recieve a slightly larger participation bonus than do losses, and this bonus carries from event to event and thus can grow over the course of several tournaments.

SCORINATING: This event has developed it's own scorinator. This event is intended to be unique and it's results are best NOT used for ranking purposes outside of this event. This event calculates a maximium offensive and defensive potential for each nation with defensive potentials being much less than offensive in general. These potentials are used to randomize both offensive and defensive scores. Each nations defensive score is subtracted from their opponents offensive score to obtain a final game score. The home team then recieves a small, radomized home field advantage score added to their final score. Home field advantage also has a max potential for each nation.
The offensive, defensive and home field advantage potentials are calculated using each nations analysis ratings at the beginning of each tournament. For all ratings used the larger your rating the better, with the exception of averageness. For a nations averageness a smaller number is better. A nation's population, averageness, and influence are used to calculate offensive, defensive and home field advantage potentials. A nation's rudeness, pacifism, stupidity, and youth rebeliousness calculate into the defensive potential only. A naion's health, intelligence, and obesity calculate into the offensive potential only.

CALENDAR: Schedules are the same for each group

Wait, you can't just add nations who haven't agreed to compete into the list! You might ruin somebody's hopes of being undefeated all-time in gridiron, and if they haven't agreed to do so by TG for this edition, then you can't add them on.

I appreciate you're concern and have taken it as a great tip. I have added the line below into my introduction, and am telegraming all current participants. FYI for the first tournament all fillers were made aware via telegram and regional board. All non-fillers from the last tournament have either returned or are aware they are now fillers. Also should any of them decide later to have their name removed from the records I would gladly do so, as they were just a filler.

"Also, any team that plays in a tournament will be included in the list for the next tournament unless replaced by another team or a specific request to be removed is made."

Thanks again for the help, this will make the tournament better I feel.

1) You shouldn't sign up nations to a tournament without their knowledge; this is at best poor etiquette.

2) NS Sports is for teams based on NS nations, not on teams with real life (RL) geographical affiliations. You should remove any connection between the teams that have signed up and where the RL individual behind that nation currently lives if this is to remain in NS Sports.

Please take the appropriate action, or I may be forced to move or even lock this event.

Action taken on item 2. While item 1 was an issue of missunderstanding I have taken steps to avoid future confusion. Thank you also for taking time via TG to help me on this.

We begin in one week!!! All previous registrants need to update their registration by removing their location and stating their focus on either offense, defense or balanced.
