Dinschria Open

Postby Super-Llamaland » Thu Jan 23, 2014 4:02 pm

It was tradition that the top eight players by aggregate in the Five Opens, Vargas Open, Capital Open, Ruby Falls Open, Southwest Bay Open, and Dinschria Open, would get to play internationally that season until a new top eight were chosen. In the opens, the ranks were picked by a specialized computer program that had been right quite often.

At the Vargas Open, things were blah as Dustin Willinger (first the previous season) beat Mark Markos (second) 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 to win.

At the Capital Open, held in New Llama, things changed. Willinger found himself upset in the quarterfinal to ninth-seeded Rory Hasselhoff: 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 5-7, 6-8. Hasselhoff then conquered twentieth-seed insurgent Matthew Grady and eleventh-seed Brendan Hernandez 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 to win it all.

Ruby Falls almost reverted. In a final four of Willinger v. Markos and Hasselhoff v. Hernandez, it was Hernandez who won it all in an exciting thriller over Markos.

Shortly after Ruby Falls, the nation applied to join the Antillia Masters Tennis Open and was accepted. The pressure was on: only the top four would advance. Markos, Willinger, Hasselhoff, Hernandez, and Grady made five. But when Matthew Grady lost in the first round of the Southwest Bay Open, things changed, or at least seemed to, until three of them fell the round after. Hasselhoff cruised to a victory.

Going into Dinschria, the standings were:

R. Hasselhoff 105.34
D. Willinger 96.94
M. Markos 92.90
M. Grady 91.22
B. Hernandez 90.25
J. Brennan 86.42
K. Luther 81.82
J. Stanton 80.00

And the final seedings were, in a chalk bracket:

(1) Rory Hasselhoff v. (9) George Martin
(2) Dustin Willinger v. (7) Kyle Luther
(3) Mark Markos v. (6) Jacob Brennan
(4) Matt Grady v. (5) Brendan Hernandez

Things seemed normal as all of the higher favorites got off to good starts, at least until Jacob Brennan beat Mark Markos 0-6, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3, 6-2 in a highly improbable comeback. The recalculated standings, done by some hacker in Hicana, reported:
R. Hasselhoff 116.00
D. Willinger 110.92
M. Grady 108.55
M. Markos 106.69
J. Brennan 105.44
B. Hernandez 105.40
K. Luther 100.03
J. Stanton 99.96

(1) Hasselhoff v. (4) Grady
(2) Willinger v. (6) Brennan

Hasselhoff and (gasp!) Brennan were victors in four sets.

R. Hasselhoff 125.72
D. Willinger 113.38
M. Grady 110.03
J. Brennan 110.02
M. Markos 106.69
B. Hernandez 105.40
K. Luther 100.03
J. Stanton 99.96

Things seemed perilous. The surprise qualifier Brennan was sure to make Antillia. Markos, Hernandez, and Grady had dim prospects, as Brennan needed only a few wins to vault into second.

And sure enough, Jacob Brennan was a surprise victor, winning 7-5, 6-4, 6-3. The world gasped. Brennan, who had been virtually unknown at the beginning of the year, had shocked everyone.

R. Hasselhoff 129.90
J. Brennan 126.60
D. Willinger 113.38
M. Grady 110.03
M. Markos 106.69
B. Hernandez 105.40
K. Luther 100.03
J. Stanton 99.96

The crowd groaned in dismay, until it was revealed that the hacker had been completely wrong and had delibrately given out misinformation. The final ranks actually let in Hasselhoff, Willinger, Grady, and Hernandez, and not Brennan, who failed a drug test weeks later.

Antillia Masters Tennis Open Preview

Brett Roley (EST) vs TBA

Brett Roley opens play in the Antillia Masters Tennis Open ranked 4th in the world. Roley has been dominant in the sport of tennis over the past year winning the Lusavik Open, Estope Open, and the Esportiva Autumn Festival along with a semifinal appearance at this year's Kannapian International Tennis Open. All of that before his 21st birthday, which will be the same day as the finals of this tournament. If it all works out as planned, he will have one happy 21st birthday, celebrating yet another tournament victory. His opening opponent, who has not yet been revealed, shouldn't be too much of a challenge for Roley unless he gets caught looking past him. His powerful serve and strong forehand are definitely his strengths and as long as he gets his first serves in he will always be the favorite to win any given match.

Jared White (EST) vs TBA

Jared White, number 15 in the world, is also optimistic going into this tournament. He used to be at the top of Estope tennis until he was overtaken by Roley. He has yet to win a tournament where both have been entered and have never beat him head to head. He is still a very strong tennis player and will be competitive in any match but has seemed to have lost his edge. The main storyline to watch with him is whether or not he can regain momentum by winning this tournament and unseating Roley as the king of Estope tennis. It is imperative he come out focused and ready to play or he could easily be booted in the opening round. He should be able to advance and has an opportunity to win this tournament but must play his very best throughout its entirety.

Bishop Lou Kelly (EST) vs TBA

One of the more interesting professional tennis players, Bishop Lou Kelley is 72 years old and a Catholic bishop. He is an avid tennis player and fan and truly loves the game. He does not win very many matches, if any at all, but he does a good job of at least staying competitive in such an old age. The best part of his game is his personality. He is a charming old man who will talk at length to just about anyone. He doesn't take the matches very seriously and knows that he is no match for these young whippersnappers. Instead he just has fun and enjoys each and every match. Of course his matches tend to take very long because of numerous extended medical timeouts that he must take because of his advanced age. And because he is a bishop of the Church, he typically prays a rosary while the medical staff attends to him and will sometimes sing hymns to himself in the middle of points. He might not be the best player but he is definitely the most entertaining.

Javier Bochenek (EST) vs TBA

Lastly is Javier Bochenek whom no one in Estope really cares about at all. He has had some minor successes but for the most part is just that other guy who is from Estope and the fans will watch if no better match is on. His inconsistent play makes him a frustrating player to follow and so most just choose not to. He has little to no chance of winning this or any tournament and honestly the public couldn't care less.

DPR Britain Ministry of Truth, Antillia Masters Tennis Open Briefing

24th January 2014

Today the glorious Democratic Peoples Republic of Britain will show off their sporting abilities and natural prowess on a tennis court, while the truth may be that these are not "real" tennis players, I would like to see a definition of what a "Real" tennis player is, these athletes sure look like tennis players to me, they have the polo shirts, the shorts, the tennis shoes, headbands and all. There has been speculation about their "experience", I would like to reassure the committee that what they lack in Tennis ability they make up for in attitude, patriotism and good old British grit, Ten-fold.

Remember, everything is OK.

Today we welcome Billy Banner(25), Max Bradley(21), Philipa Reynolds (17) and Marsha Briggs(29). Some disloyal terrorists and enemies of the state have made vile accusations that these players have never in fact even seen a tennis racket before, today I will refute that claim and make this well informed and intelligent counter-claim, They have in fact all played tennis before and this is in no way a money laundering scheme, it isn't a betting scam and it certainly isn't a publicity stunt to distract our populace from the (alleged) poverty and starvation that is (allegedly) running uncontrollably through our grand nation and stunningly beautiful, albeit, rapidly shrinking countryside.

Remember to be a model citizen.

Billy Banner is probably our nations best bet for this tournament as this is an international event and he has a mean ground-stroke, whatever that is. He Has prior sporting experience as a goal-keeper for the Manchester Giants Football Club so everyone here is very excited to see him in action today, he will face off against the ever increasingly nervous looking Max Bradley, a man so devoutly patriotic that he had the flag tattooed on his forehead and he wasn't coerced into doing that in any way, shape or form. After this tournament I'm sure he will look forward to seeing his family again, so he had better win a match or he will only be with them in his fondest memories, Moving on.

Remember to stay vigilant, watch out for those Capitalist-Imperialists!

Philipa Reynolds is our youngest star, many of you couch potatoes will surely remember her from the "Britain's Best Patriot" TV show, where she won the golden citizen award and the golden broomstick, to those who say she probably won't win a single match i say this "we will find you, Traitor, and take you to one of our luxury Re-education centers for some "Mental fine tuning" and general R+R.

Remember to give everything for this country.

Marsha Briggs is our oldest athlete, that is not to say she is past her prime. She will be facing off against Philipa Reynolds today and she is already shaping up to be a fan favorite, Citizens are purchasing her T-shirts in vast quantities, so any True patriot should buy one now before we completely run out, this is not an opportunity you want to miss!

Remember, It's Amnesty week for any rebel dogs, Judases or prodigal sons. Welcome home, comrades!

After these matches we at the Ministry of Truth are sure the DPR Britain team will soar to the top of the table in no time at all and win the tournament with record breaking scores and supreme vigilance.

Good Luck Team Britain

Usjek Tennis Players joining the Antillia Masters

Postby Usjekhipstahf » Fri Jan 24, 2014 7:20 am

Usjekhipstahf is sending its best tennis players to the Antillia Masters 2014

Jung Hee Woo (정 희 우), 26
He is currently no. 1 in the local rankings after winning his final match with Dominik Karlovic who was ruling the tennis courts for 2 years. Hee-woo was born in Daegu, Hanminguk. He started his international tennis career in 2010, in his first year he already won 11 international matches though there is none championship title won yet, Hee-woo remains a very strong contender. His highest international ranking was in 23rd place, and He is tagged as the pride of the Korean State (Hanminguk) in Usjekhipstahf.

Dexter de Asissi, 26
The fan-favourite in the national courts, de Asissi currently holds the 2nd place in the local rankings after losing his final match to Jung Hee Woo in the recently concluded Usjek National Finals 2014. He grew up in Genoa, Alps and then later on transferred his residency in Macaria, Felipinas. Although de Asissi have not won yet the national tennis title, he was the first to win an international championship in male singles tennis for Usjekhipstahf, the SEGA Professional Tennis Men's Championship in 2011.

Nina Varushka (нина Варусхка), 23
Coming from the dominant Serbian tennis community from Kragujevac, Balkan and being a sister of a former no.1 tennis player, Varushka has a lot of pressure on her shoulders, but it seems she can handle it very well, Varushka is currently the no.1 tennis player in the women’s division. This would be her first major international competition.

Andrea Rittner, 23
This “German Spinner” debuted her international tennis career late last year, Rittner had already reached the quarter finals as her highest achievement yet, she won 4 matches and joined 2 major international tennis competition (Acer Championships and Usjek Open Tennis Championship), currently, Rittner is ranked no.2 on the national level.

Good luck to all the contenders!

The Home Of Lzher Sports Since 2089

There have been a lot of firsts lately for Lzherusskia and our sporting greats. We've had the Terzada get screwed out of qualification for the World Bowl, the demolition of Patistan in the World Hoops Showcase, the upcoming World Combat Games in Smyslova and now, it's the turn of the tennis pros. The nation's top two men and top two women are on their way to Costa de Ouro for the Antillia Masters and the chance to prove that they really do belong in the top tier of world tennis and, happily, all four have different approaches to the game, meaning that statistically, one should do alright. Here's the skinny on all four.

Image
Emmanuel Davydenko, seconds after finishing Teodor Kravchuk in the finals of the Vilnera Grand Slam

Emmanuel Davydenko
Age: 33
National Ranking: #1
Style: Power hitter with a bazooka for a serve
Notable Accomplishments: Vilnera Grand Slam winner (2118, 2119, 2123); Setevidnja Invitational winner (2122); Skorobys Komyshlen Open (2116; 2117; 2119); Cheskoyi Cup winnner (2117, 2120, 2123)
Bio: Conventional wisdom suggests that, at age 33, Emmanuel Davydenko's powers should be starting to wane, but the strongest man in tennis showed little weakness in striding to another pair of trophies this year as well, and he starts 2124 as the deserved #1. Critics have pointed out that he benefited from an unusual weak field in the Cheskoyi Cup and fortuitous injuries in the VGS, but Davydenko's massive serve, fantastic net game and crafty volleys saw him run right over two extremely tough opponents in the finals. His secret weapon is his incredible conditioning, as befits a man who has called running a marathon "pretty basic training", which allows him to still uncork the aces he does deep into the later sets.

Image
Teodor Kravchuk, looking uncharacteristically glum

Teodor Kravchuk
Age: 23
National Ranking: #2
Style: Counter-puncher, happy to keep up a rally until his opponent makes a mistake
Notable Accomplishments: Skorobys Komyshlen Open winner (2122, 2123); Vilnera Grand Slam runner-up (2123); Setevidnja Invitational runner-up (2123); Cheskoyi Cup runner-up (2121, 2122)
Bio: The brash young upstart to Davydenko's quiet, graceful old pro, Teodor Kravchuk defeated his nemesis in the SK Open final this year and said afterwards that he's still got a lot better tennis in him. Very much the opposite side of the coin to Davydenko in attitude and playing style - Kravchuk's approach of waiting until his opponent makes an error or miscues a shot rather than forcing the matter has gotten him called "boring" and "dull" with surprising frequency, but it's hard to argue with six final appearances in three years of competition. An extremely frustrating man to face, much less beat, Kravchuk has earned the ire of many in the tennis community with his penchant for talking trash both on and off the court.

Image
Alisa Kunitsyna celebrates taking another point against Igor Zyryanov

Alisa Kunitsyna
Age: 27
National Ranking: #3
Style: Aggressive offensive baseliner with speed to burn
Notable Accomplishments: Vilnera Grand Slam winner (2122); Setevidnja Invitational winner (2119, 2123); Skorobys Komyshlen Open winner (2118); Cheskoyi Cup runner-up (2123)
Bio: The first woman to prove that the fairer sex could not just hang with men on the court but beat them as well, Alisa Kunitsyna is a woman motivated by anger, spite and hatred, and it's the aggression that manifests in her game that makes her such a nasty opponent to face. Although prone to unnecessary errors, her speed and agility in chasing the ball mean there's almost nowhere on the court she can't get to and the only way to score a certain winner is to make absolutely sure she's anticipated you're sending the ball the opposite way that you actually are. More of a specialist than the two boys, with a hard court being her preference, nobody faces Alisa Kunitsyna and comes away unscathed.

Image
Nadia Likhacheva (background), with doubles partner Irina Ignatyeva

Nadia Likhacheva
Age: 34
National Ranking: #8
Style: All-round player, capable of playing an opponent's game and beating them at it
Notable Accomplishments: Vilnera Grand Slam runner-up (2120); Setevidnja Invitational runner-up (2115, 2118); Skorobys Komyshlen Open runner-up (2117); Cheskoyi Cup runner-up (2121)
Bio: Alone among Lzherusskia's four entrants, Nadia Likhacheva comes to the tournament with people arguing she doesn't deserve her spot, and it is true that her resume is less prestigious than her companions - no victories in any of the Big Four tournaments and ranked eighth in the nation. What she lacks in awards, however, she compensates for in sheer physical ability - speed, strength, stamina, she's renowned for being one of the finest all-round athletes Lzherusskia has ever produced, and it's simply been a case of bad luck and tough breaks that's seen her never lift a trophy.

"We'd love to work with you, honey, but how do you advertise horseshoes?"

Freaking ad agencies. Mocklemare clopped out the door. It was the same thing. The nineteen-year-old centaur had finally managed to hit the big-time, the Hicana Tour League, two years ago, and she'd won five opens. That was why she was at some awesome tropical island and the humans the ad agency sponsored wasn't.

2012 Agustic Open semifinal, 2012 Astilla Open champion, 2012 North Bay Invitational champion, 2012 Charles' Court Open champion, 2013 Augstic Open champion, 2013 Astilla Open runner-up, 2013 North Bay Invitational quarterfinal, 2013 Charles' Court Open champion. It seemed like a no-brainer for somebody to accept her. But she hadn't.

It was hard not to notice the level of discrimination in Hicana. All the people got so sentimental about accepting their twin heritage of Hikayni and Llamanean, but nobody cared about centaurs and elves. They hadn't even become full-out citizens until 2004, and that wasn't enough time to get some decent equine ad agencies.

There were still centaur-riding contests that infuriated 40% of the population, meaning the elf and centaur part. And they had taken so long to make them equals. They still weren't.

She supposed she'd have to leave for Antillia. The ad agencies wouldn't ignore an international championship, would they?

Anditon Competitors arrive at Antillia Masters Tennis Open
Marco Farmor -- ANTILLIA, COSTA DE OURO

Fresh off of their competition in the Second Kannapian International Tennis Open Gulaga Grappo and Al Montis de Surmar arrived in Costa de Ouro for their competition in the Antillia Masters Tennis Open (henceforth called the AMTO for ease). Gulaga, slowly losing her once nearly unbeatable form, still fairs well within international competition largely due to her impeccably accurate serves and "wicked" forehand. During the KITO, Grappo was able to advance to the Third Round losing in a close battle with Fred Perry of Tobys Great Britain. Unfortunately she will not be able to avenge this loss as Fred is not competing during this tournament.
Al Montis de Surmar, a rising 19 year old star in the tennis community who excels in his physical preparation and footwork won the KITO and is currently ranked #1 according to the national polls. An upstart youngster, Montis de Surmar was able to take advice from his mixed doubles partner Grappo to advance into the finals despite not holding a high rank coming into the tournament.
"I have a good chance to do well in this tournament, but there are a number of unknowns who could provide upsets - so I have to focus and not fall into any traps." Montis de Surmar remains humble in his statements to the media - one of the more appealing portions of his personality.
Meanwhile, Oscar Varscara (17- of Veritus- mentioned as "one to watch" by International Tennis Monthly) has recovered from a bruised hamstring and will be competing for the first time at the AMTO. Varscara does not have the same mentality of either of his teammates and feels "The competition here is well below my skill level - I should be able to challenge Al for the championship - and win"
The cocky youngster is projected to make it past the first round of competition, but will most likely fail soon after - at least this reporter hopes so -he needs to be taught a lesson and a good whoppin' would provide that lesson.

Others to watch out for include:
Lance Mance (Britonisea) - was eliminated during the Third round of the KITO by Ardil Navsal, could still do well in competition
Ardil Navsal (Cenni) - Eliminated during the Semi-finals of the KITO by Al Montis de Surmar may be looking for revenge as he continues in this competition.
Brett Roley (Estope) - Currently ranked 4th in the world and lost to eventual runner-up Brianna Powel. Has a strong serve and powerful forehand. Should challenge Al Montis de Surmar for the championship.

Here Come The Girls
Kunitsyna Claims Lzherusskia's First Scalp In Five-Set Scrap

Alisa Kunitsyna (LZK) 3 6 6 6 6
Oscar Varscara (AND) 6 3 7 3 4

The national #3 wrote her name into the history books as the first Lzher player to win an international match in the opening round of the Antillia Masters, defeating fellow unranked player Oscar Varscara in five sets. Varscara, the seventeen-year-old from Anditia, had early talked about the Masters being "well below [his] skill level" and expecting an easy walk to the championship, but was clearly caught off-guard by Kunitsyna's speed and agility, and showed signs of flagging as early as the third set, in which he was forced into a tie-break after being up 4-0.

André Pedrinho Delgado (CDO) 5 7 6 6
Nadia Likhacheva (LZK) 7 5 1 3

Despite falling to Andre Pedrinho Delgado in four sets and undoubtedly giving her critics more ammunition to work with, the nation's #8 did nothing to disgrace herself in defeat. In front of a very pro-Delgado crowd, who was playing in front of a stadium packed full of his home fans, Likhacheva was unlucky to fall in the first set and took the second in fine form, breaking Delgado's serve multiple times and matching him at every turn. Sadly, the 6-1 third set put Likhacheva in a hole that would have been difficult for anybody to climb out, and she wasn't able to pull off the upset.

Tomorrow, the boys are in the spotlight, but even in the best-case scenario it looks like we'll only have two Lzhers in the next round. Emmanuel Davydenko faces Patistan's Humd Shazib, who competed in the Second Kannapian International but was eliminated early on, and can be quietly confident of pulling off the upsets; unfortunately, Teodor Kravchuk was done no favours by the draw, which has thrown him up against Brett Roley, the man from Estope who took the bronze at the 2KITO and currently ranks third in the world. The match is an interesting styles clash, pitting a strong server against a fine counter-puncher, but only the most jingoistic of fans would pick the unranked player over the world #3.

We'll see you tomorrow.

Good things has been happening for Peter P LARRY after coming back from a back injury. He has not been having a good season. He lost The Britannual Open, San Jose Guayabal Open, November Finals and The Kannap International Open. WHAT ELSE!! He was strained through out the match and he is basically crying that he is going out of form. Don't worry Peter. You are doing a great job! But Dunkun Newman (Britonish)/ Duncan Newman (English) did a better job. Not only playing his first proper ATP match, he won Javier in straight sets. " I am so happy that I won. I feel like I am going to come out in the next match" the Britonish continued "I am really happy for Javier and I hope to see him in The ATP New Koln Grand Masters."

Lance Mance! What happend? He has been having a great season winning two tittles. I guessed the ATP tittle just freak him out or something. He was in top form beating Shaheer two months ago in The November Finals. Maybe to was not his day. In his press conference he said "I am happy to be here. Shaheer played a better match. He is very kind..."

Jared White (EST) 6 6 6
Ricko Mozzarello (NEC) 2 1 2

Jared White cruised to an easy three set victory over Ricko Mozzarello. White appeared to be in much better shape than before and has made vast changes in his approach to the game. In the match he was playing more aggressive and took more chances that ultimately turned into points. He did send a message that he is a clear contender not to be overlooked or overshadowed but fellow Estopian Brett Roley. Other than the positive signs of his better play, the quick match allows him to have more rest going forward. Next White will play Devin Willenger (SLL) who looked very inconsistent in his four set victory. At times he looked outstanding and was hitting winner after winner. But at other times, he was making unforced errors repeatedly. In order to win, White doesn't have to play his absolute best but has to do enough to get ahead early and play consistently. He can not afford to have many unforced errors or this could be a potentially disastrous match.

Bishop Lou Kelly (EST) 7 5 6 5 6
Melani Jelvini (XPH) 5 7 2 7 4

Well the bishop succeeded but it wasn't pretty. After numerous injuries and a lot of bad tennis, Bishop Lou Kelly won his first ever professional tennis match. During the match his arthritis began to flare up and he had some hip problems, not to mention his shoulder trouble, dehydration, and hallucinations, but the trainers were able to fix him up enough to get through the match. Bishop Kelly had his pill box on the sidelines to help deal with his pain throughout the match. The fact that he was able to play a four and a half hour match at his age is a miracle in and of itself. Of course the match was at times hard to watch. Both players earned a majority of his points off the opponent's unforced errors. Each set usually came down to the first player to successfully hold serve. But regardless of how bad the match was, Bishop Kelly did reach a mile stone in his career. He will next face Alisa Kunitsyna (LZK), who also struggled in a five set victory but is a lot younger and so is better suited to handed the wear on the body. It will be interesting to see if Bishop Lou Kelly can even last the whole match let alone stay competitive. Never the less, it will be entertaining to watch at least for his personality.

Duncan Newman (BRI) 7 6 6
Javier Bochenek (EST) 6 4 1

Javier Bochenek lost in straight sets, and is again knocked out of an international competition. It's like he doesn't even try. Oh well, it's not like anyone really cares about him anyways.

Brett Roley vs. Teodor Kravchuk

Roley's quest for another major title begins tomorrow against Teodor Kravchuk. Roley is an overwhelming favorite but must come out and play strong to get ready for the competition that lies ahead. With so many quality players entered into this tournament, he cannot risk letting up, even in the very first round. It all begins tomorrow for Estope's best tennis player. He is the standard bearer for the nation and must show the world that Estope is still relevant in men's tennis. This is his tournament to lose but he must not lose focus. He cannot risk looking ahead to the finals and must focus on one match at a time. That is his key to success.

Montis de Surmar, Grappo begin well, Varscara can't hold on.
Marco Farmor - ANTILLIA, COSTA DE OURO

During the first round of the AMTO most of Anditia's athletes faired well with Al Montis de Surmar and Gulaga Grappo winning their opening matches. Unfortunately youngster Oscar Varscarra lost his opening round match vs Alisa Kunitsyna. Despite winning the first game of the match, Varscara was humiliated during his second match in a 6-3 set. Trying to save face, he continued to fight back, quickly regaining the lead in the match (7-6(5) during his next set before losing the final two matches 6-3, 6-4 respectively.
"I don't know haw Alisa was able to beat me. I had her on the ropes and couldn't finish it off. I've failed my nation and my family" Varscarra said. Despite these statements, the pompous (bastard of a) 17 year old refused to take any blame for the losses commenting that the line judge and referee must have been "paid off" by Kunitsnyna.
More respectful and respectable in their matches were Gulaga Grappo and Al Montis de Surmar. Both won their individual matches in straight sets Gulaga vs Shahin Alam all by 6-4 and Montis de Surmar vs Willy Stenwright 6-2, 6-1, 6-3.
"My game was going well. My serve feels on and my forehand is much better than previous games. Willy played well and should do decently in the future, it was fun to play with him." the humble Montis de Surmar stated. "Gulaga also did well in her match. Shahin is a great competitor and gave her a nice run for her money, I think that Gulaga was just a bit too powerful with her attacks."
When asked to comment on fellow countryman Oscar Varscara - Montis de Surmar simply said "He got what he deserved" thanking Alisa Kunitsyna for "hopefully teaching him a lesson."
Next Montis de Surmar faces 33 seed Firelight who recently defeated Erik Tilop in straight sets. Gulaga Grappo faces 29 seed Duncan Newman who defeated Javier Bochenek in straight sets. Both are favored to win and continue on in the tournament.

Lucas Ceverra (XPH) 0 6 5 3

Brendan Hernandez (SLL) 5 5 7 3
Max Bradley (DPR) 7 7 6 6

"Hi, this is LLAMALAND SPORTS RADIO, channel 1005! Today, we bring in expert tennis analyst Donald Sheffer to check out our matches today!"

"We're off to Antillia, Costa de Ouro, where Dustin Willinger and Brendan Hernandez began play. Dustin Willinger faced off with Lucas Ceverra of Xaphagoulis and came out triumphant. Let's look at the first set. All yours, Donald."

"Well, Willinger came out ready after an overconfident loss a while back in Ceni. He hasn't advanced far in international play but he's still a force, and it's all from that dominant serve-and-volley style. And you can see him in full bloom against more of a pusher in Lucas Ceverra, who specializes in baseline backhands. Well, Ceverra wouldn't get many of those as Willinger took advantage of his serve to dominate almost every point, committing only one unforced in the first set to Ceverra's five. Meanwhile, Ceverra's poor serve doomed him early on, and Willinger won 6-0, winning twenty-four of twenty-seven points."

"Truly dominant."

"That's right. But Willinger slipped and injured his ankle in the second set, and Ceverra took advantage of his lesser mobility to smack backhands all over the court. Willinger's serve was damaged as well, and Ceverra broke him twice for a 6-2 win. But you could see him contesting more at the end, and he came back in the third in gutsy fashion, going more strategic and counter-attacking Ceverra's attempts to move him around. He won 6-0, 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 and will face Jared White of Estope tomorrow."

"Meanwhile, Brendan Hernandez fell to Max Bradley of the Democratic People's Republic of Britain. Bradley is apparently very patriotic and had his nation's flag tattooed on his head. Not by force, either."

"The two were even in the first set, trading cross-court forehands in an endless volley with no breaks at all until Bradley took Hernandez for a sixth game and then won without conceding a point to win 7-5. The second set was also even, Hernandez losing 7-5, and the third set proceeded until Hernandez fought back six break points to force a tiebreak and then won in resounding fashion, 7-2. With the two tied at 2-2, Hernandez got into a serious argument with the referee, shattering his confidence. It is believed that the two exchanged colorful insults, and Bradley pulled ahead to win 6-3. All because Brendan Hernandez couldn't keep his cool."

"We will see you tomorrow as Rory Hasselhoff and Matt Grady play their first matches in Antillia."

"Nice job today."

"Yup. Poor Erik Tilop never stood a chance."

"I really liked your forehand."

"Thank you. Be honest though, was I playing 100%?"

"No, more like 90. You really killed him with technique and strategy, not power or hustle."

"Yeah, I really shouldn't be doing that. I have to bring my A-game tomorrow."

"That's right. You're playing the number-one seed, Al Montis de Sumar."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, says right here."

"Well, I really need to play 100% then to beat him."

"So you do. Maybe he'll transform into Erik Tilop."

"Hmm. Well, anyway, you have Aylmer Blake tomorrow."

"A valiant opponent, but beatable. I have to do it."

"Motivation? I heard you were only in it for the money."

"No, I'm trying to spread awareness for centaur tennis..."

"And?"

"...and ads are one way to do it."

"Just focus on your game, win a few tournaments, and those stupid agents will be running to you."

"I'd rather have them gallop. Good luck tomorrow!"

"You too!"
