And we have a new name to differentiate ourselves from the real-life ATP: the NationStates Tennis Tour will go into existence on January 3, the starting date of the Paradise City Open.

Therefore, Kannap is duly elected host of the last tournament held under the ATP banner.

It seems honoring and fitting for the last event under the ATP banner to be hosted by Kannap since the first event that went towards ATP rankings was hosted by Kannap.

IC/Results thread will be up tomorrow (Sunday).

RP/Results Thread is up

Scorination, as stated in my previous post, will start tomorrow.

The schedule has been shortened from the previously planned ten day schedule to a six day schedule. This will be accomplished by scorinating two rounds of the round robin competitions for singles and doubles per day rather than one each per day.

This change to the schedule will allow for the event to end on January 2nd rather than January 6th, therefore ending it before the Paradise City Open and the transformation of the ATP into the NSTT on January 3rd.

With the seven-game round robin (rather than a 3-game one), the following point schedule will be adopted:

RR: 100 points per win, 10 points per loss
SF win: 300 points
F win: 500 points

Well, only the Tier tournaments count for rankings - some people have decided to go off on their own and make their own tennis tournament (Tobiasia and Free Swiss States are the ones I can pull off the top of my head) that is not sanctioned by the NSTT and thus does not earn ranking points. Also, Olympics do not earn NSTT ranking points, the reasoning being they do not use NSTT ranks.

I've sent him a quick TG, and should remind him when I see him again on IRC - but there was a planned break week between the Electrum Slam and the NSI Open, and since the Electrum Slam is running a bit later than I had anticipated (by a whole week), there will still be a bit of time for the signups before they actually occur.
