Optimistic...

I think (Pros) that it is a fast way to get points and a good hub to collect RPs. It is also very realistic. However, (Cons) only you are hosting. Don't you ever want a break? If you're part of a, in my opinion, sporting region, get some of them to scorinate their own matches. It will gain your trust as a organisation manager and it shows you can work with others, no? Also, I lost interest a bit because it's too much. Don't worry I do pop in! However, well done. You optimistic idea worked. Can we have a davis cup kinda ting?

I guess I have to agree with Britonisea on this matter. It is a very great tournament and very well organizaed. But on the other hand, sometimes I saw you are kind of bit overwhelmed with all the schedule and RL condition. If you let the real host, doing their scorinator I guess it ease you a little bit.

And a suggestion, in RL we know that some tournament is being held in the same week at the same date. Do we really could do this on NS ATP?? Cause with Astyrian Series full tournament and one tournament held after another, it will come with a lot of delays.

Rankings should be totally updated when the final is scorinated.

Suggestions

1) Each tournament should have three weeks devoted to it. Seven days for signups, three for signups, seven for the main draw (assuming there are 7 rounds in the main draw) & four days of leeway in case real life happens.

2) No nation should host more than one tournament in a month. While I enjoyed role playing in two tournaments last month, I can sense that it hasn't been easy for you to host the Astyrian Series by yourself.

And one request!

1) Is there a firm schedule of future tournaments?

So here is my revised schedule. (with some strike outs or question marks for hosts I am unsure of and edits)

Clay Court
January: BCA Open Albergaria, Antillia Masters
February: Santa Maria Open, 360 Degrees Monteverde Cup, Fresko Royal Nikolian Open
March: Cadenzan Clay Trophy, Stars Patistan Open, Hamilton Open
April: Hamilton Open, Brittanual Britonisean Open

Hard Court
May: Volatus Open, Cenial Masters
June: Cenian Open / Electrum Open
July: Electrum Open / Drakonikan Open ???
August: Estope Open ???, Darvale Open ???

Grass Court
October: Kannapian International
November: Llamanean Open ???, 21st Century Fox Richmond Masters ???, World Tour Finals
December: Off month

After speaking with Electrum, it looks like the Hamilton International will be in the March 27 - April 13 time period, and the Electrum Slam will be on hard court as originally planned in the June 27 - July 13 period.

The next tournament will be the Stars Patistan Open, in a couple of weeks; it's a Tier 2 tournament.

To Andromeda, I can't guarantee any firm schedule, because the one I just posted I made last year; I have several indications that the hosts that I struck out might not be able / willing to host, however this needs confirmation and can be fixed as we get closer to those dates

Also, a couple of points to ponder.

1. No points for qualification losses? It's really a pain to update the 3 points in Grand Slams + Tier 1's who never ever show up again; should we keep this?

2. Davis Cup like thing? Can we do this?

1. It a double sided though. For an active player, it will closed their chance to gain more point if the point is going to be omitted. I guess that we need to still count the point but if the player didn't showed up in maybe the next 3 events without any explanation then the player named will be eliminated the ATP list for being inactive.

2. I guess we need to make a nation ranking system first before a Davis Cup like tournament could be made.

Honestly, though, one point doesn't make much difference when the top ranked player has 8000 points. Even if you're doing qualification where the top seed is in the 500 point range, 3, 2 or 1 point honestly won't make a lot of difference, and the change will save me a lot of time updating ranks (making it simpler as well as eliminating the need to add in 3 points for 50 people)

As for a nation-ranking system, we could just add the ranks together for seeding purposes; individual players and teams would use ATP ranks.
For seeding purposes after the second cup, we could also have a formula to measure their performance in past events

So... A couple of point to decide.

1. Fourth Grand Slam on clay? When and where?

2. Third set tiebreakers, at least in Tier 2 events

3. Davis Cup like event? When, where, how?

I have a thought:

To make our World Tour RPs just a little more realistic, do you think we could perhaps separate the sexes of our athletes? Something like a WTA world tour for female athletes and ATP for men? To make the job easier for the person who updates the rankings, we could allow nations during sign up times to enter 4 male athletes and 4 female athletes, or we could stay at the initial 8. Any thoughts on this?

That was a major talking point when the ATP was first founded, but ultimately we decided that it would be less of a hassle to just keep it mixed-gender. OOCly wise, the scorinator doesn't give a hoot whether you are a man or a female, and ICly, females have proven their worth on the tour.

As for the rankings, I doubt it would be easier for me to update. It's the same number of people, just divided over more spreadsheets.

Yep.

Would it be possible to allow other experienced tennis hosts to handle updating rankings, so then the WTA idea could work?

Don't think it will happen... pretty much 95% of the events on NS Sports are mixed gender. Only the Olympics, funnily enough, is split into men's and women's. With the way things are, we're going to struggle to get full brackets if we didn't have mixed gender.
