Dude, Greg has the highest ranking in this event and has won two of six Slams. An unranked team taking one game from the Bat Slaves is a huge accomplishment, OOCly and ICly.

I don't know that this in and of itself is a problem, but their entire roster is copied from Appalachian State University (though why you'd want the players they've got, I dunno, Beat App! :p ). The writeups read like they are from the university's official sports website, and don't really have the right feel for an international tournament. It just feels like a bad attempt to pass off a university team as a national team, with little creativity. Perhaps the user has an obsession with the Mountaineers baseball team.

Berk Island has contradicted long-established facts about my nation. He claims that coconut jelly beans are selling well in my nation. However, I have long established that Gregoryisgodistanis may only consume prune juice and gruel rations, no other food. Jelly beans, coconut or otherwise, are illegal in Gregoryisgodistan and would not be available anywhere in the country.

I have TG'd Berk Island to fix that RP, and if he does not, I would ask that Noburu Taiyou make an appropriate adjustment to his RP Bonus.

Its probably too late for that, since RP bonus only applies for a single day (other than functioning as part of the non-decisive tiebreaker of last resort). Bonuses for RPs posted on days when your team has a bye are assigned to the next day when your team is scheduled to play. Since the non-decisive tiebreakers are only used for seeding the double elimination rounds. The only decisive tiebreaker is a tiebreaker game (or games, if there are more than 2 teams tied). If tiebreaker games are used, they will be held in Taiyou (meaning that home field advantage, which exists in Miscellenator, will be disabled, as it will be for all double elimination games).

Since World Cup Qualifying is scheduled to begin on Tuesday (the day after the group stage ends), expect a gap of 2 days, rather than 1 day, between scorinations for any tiebreaker playoffs (if needed) and for the double elimination rounds.

This is not at all consistent with the image I have of my team, which has a style modifier of +1, which I consider to be slightly aggressive or with slightly better hitting than pitching. In my mind, a +1 team is a team that wins games 6-4 or something like that, rather than 9-7 and 9-8, as two of our wins have been.

I'm just wondering if in testing, Miscellenator has been shown to producing higher-scoring games relative to other scorinators or if this is a SSS (small sample size) illusion.

Somehow, I missed this earlier.

Miscellenator doesn't use style mods (nor does any baseball scorinator that I'm aware of). Although NSFS3 has the option to enter style mods, they apparently don't actually do anything for baseball or American football (only association football).

It isn't exactly practical to run a large number of tests on Miscellenator because Miscellenator is a spreadsheet that does not produce any tables, only scores (and in a linescore format that xkoranate's table generator won't recognize). The sample size definitely seems large enough, so far, to show that Miscellenator tends to produce very high-scoring games.

@NT: This tournament structure is working really well, actually: most of the teams with high rank and/or high RP are in first or second. It may not be the most explainable IC-ly, but I could see this format in the WBC.

Edit: CLIIIIINNNCH YAAAAYYYYY

Now I can get eliminated from the playoffs b/c I'll be @ boy scout camp

The only qualifications I would make to that statement are that some ranked teams are doing better than others, regardless of RP or not; and it's not always correlated with their rank. For example, Mosktopia and Vettrera have been invisible (and are two of the lower-ranked teams), but have a combined record of 25-7. Taiyou hasn't RP'd at all, has a low rank, and has an 11-7 record.

Whereas Imota and I (two of the higher ranked teams) have RP'd fairly consistently and have a combined record of 23-13, fully four games worse. One might have even thrown Greg in there (before their MD7 sweep) as an RPing, ranked team that perhaps had not been rewarded as much as they should have (especially as the #1 team in the tourney).

The three-game series, I believe, is a viable format (if not consistent with the RL WBC), but I would have expected more dominance from the ranked teams given the 100% decaying RP bonus. However, teams like Miley World and Abanflefht have been rewarded well, as well as teams like Berk Island, Perinpanland, and Estenia, so that's encouraging.

To clarify that answer, if you are mathematically eliminated but still have games left, you can earn RP bonus. If you have no games left, you can't.

The schedule for the remainder of the tournament is now up in the thread OP. Today's results include the schedule for the tiebreaker playoffs and the seeding for the Semi-Finals.

I have decided to make a minor deviation from the bid, for purposes of seeding for the Finals. That part of the bid was a holdover from my original WBC 30 bid that I didn't catch, but doesn't really make sense when 2 teams advance from each Semi-Final rather than just 1. Instead, the first day of the Finals will be drawn as follows:

2-1 team from Semi-Final B @ 2-0 team from Semi-Final A
2-1 team from Semi-Final A @ 2-0 team from Semi-Final B

However, the seeding procedure for the finals (in the bid) will still be used to determine "home" and "away" teams on days 2 and 3.
