The following arrives in the appropriate office of your nation, on a pair of delicate scrolls, handwritten by the Master of Quidditch at the Centre for the Magical Arts in Starblaydia, having been delivered by a pristine white owl, who serenely waits for a few bronze coins in payment before promptly leaving.

Esteemed Colleagues,

In my recent discussions with fellow Quidditch enthusiasts, it has come to my attention that the wizarding world has been without the great 'sport of warlocks' for too long. As such, I would hereby request that those teams wishing to represent their nations in the fifth Quidditch World Cup of the modern era should make themselves known to myself, so that I may organise the initiation of this landmark fifth tournament.

Should any national Quidditch association have the desire, facilities and organisational abilities to host the World Cup itself, would they also please make themselves known to me, outlining their bid in appropriate detail. A vote will be held should there be multiple candidates.

Starblaydia (QWC1), Delaclava (QWC2) and Urumgard (QWC3) are former World Cup winners in this most noble of sports, with Adun being our reigning Champions.

Wishing every team in the next competition, wherever it may be held, 'good luck'!

Prospective Hosts: Equestrian States (bid)

(OOC: Though I'm opening and maintaining the sign-up thread, but I'm not going to bid to host this one so I'm going to throw this one out to the community. Please sign up in this thread and indicate any desire to host the tournament. Our two pre-built scorinators are something that sounds complex from TBI, and my super-simple Excel-based one. By all means suggest your own if you would like to host, or we can probably find links for the two current ones.

Should anyone want to sign up for this who doesn't have Magic, Quidditch, or the Potterverse as an integral part of their RPing - or for those who a wizarding community would simply be out of character for the way they RP their nation - you're certainly more than welcome to say that some or all of your players are ex-pupils of the Percyvale Academy, Starblaydia's answer to Hogwart's, or that they play for one of the Starblaydi Quidditch Sunday League teams).

Though we have no idea what Quidditch is. We figure that it is a British sport. However, our nation possesses some of the most famous wizards of all time and will join the cup with a truly magical team.
