BARANGAYAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE
1st Season

Procedural Notes
  • As the events in the nation prompted a revamp in club basketball in The Royal Barangay, most of the franchises in the ABS were sold to football clubs, and as renamed as such. All other teams were disbanded, and some of the players were acquired by the remaining teams via a dispersal draft. The list of changes can be found below. This means that the new clubs retain the lineage of their predecessors, along with ranking points and IUBC coefficients (if any)
  • The new 16-team format will see six legs of round robin (90 matches in total); the team with the highest number of wins will secure a spot in the Trophy of Champions. The next two teams will provisionally qualify for the Falcon Plate; however, they must reach the semifinal to do secure it. Failure to do so will result to a playoff match for the place in concern.
  • The postseason champion will get the top seed for the ToC. However, if the Regular Season winner qualifies for the finals, their opponent will secure a spot in the ToC as well.

Season 1 HBC Ryne

Return to glory
While Barunio Asi and Nicojardi Club still rooted at the bottom of the league table, HBC Ryne reclaimed their title after losing it last year to Racing Xinghua. The Black Islanders were bought by the Savio Group of Companies, and they were contemplating whether to rename the club into the same name of their football club, Ryne Savio.

Ryne won the league with one game to play after defeating fellow rivals Leonde Sport while Racing XInghua drew with Atletico Radi, which opened up the gap to 4 points with one match to play.

Lower Leagues (1/3)

Ligang Pambansa - Hilaga at Timog

Hilaga Division (North)
Relegated from the old LM Cuarto and were assigned to this division were Ritmo Cadomer and CF Lafoxpa. Ritmo relegated from the fourth tier for the first time, while Lafoxpa's stay in the same tier only lasted for a season. Reassigned to the Hilaga division was CF Tebo, because of geographical reasons.

Promoted to the new Ligang Pambansa was Ramo Central, who will be enjoying life outside the fifth tier for the first time, as well as hoping for being the first club in the Region Capital to make it to the top flight (unless the KPMB suddenly decides to insert CF Sangti into the Primera). The increase in the number of teams resulted into the quadruple round robin being dropped, thus the number of games were reduced significantly (from 44 last season to just 26). Like last season, only the winner will be promoted this season, which will be the last of the four-season re-alignment of the league.

Four new teams entered this division as replacement to the promoted CF Radi, and to the reassigned CF Tebo. Chateroux Mosra, Real Gabel, Recreativo Nonasa and Nicojardi Club were all relegated and assigned to the Timog Division. The first three were first timers in the fifth tier while Nicojardi, after a forgettable Cuarto season, is back after a season.

PROMOTION/RELEGATION FROM THE FIFTH TIER

Promoted to the Ligang Pambansa: Ritmo Cadomer, Real Gabel

Copa del Barangay
First Round

With twenty-eight teams in the fifth tier, the KPMB had a difficult time placing teams in respective rounds. They decided to split the Primera entrants into the top ten and the bottom four (and the two promoted clubs) last season.

Guidelines
  • All clubs in the fourth and fifth tiers will contest the first round (44 clubs).
  • 18 LM Tercera clubs will join the first round winners (22 + 18 = 40 clubs)
  • 18 LM Segunda clubs and the LM Primera clubs not in the top ten last season will join the second round winners (20 + 18 + 6 = 44 clubs)
  • The top 10 LM Primera clubs will join the third round winners (22 + 10 = 32 clubs)

With Garbalona leading FC Vascue by five points, the title could be secured with a win in the next matchday. The battle for the last promotion spot heats up as FC Vascue snatched second from Cuatro, and with five points separating Vascue and sixth placed Central, points will be at a premium. At the other side of the table, four points separate seventh placed Nueva and twelfth placed Dinamo Lomalos.

At the end of Matchday 29, Nueva Cegacor could still be relegated if results do not go their way (i.e. lose to Dinamo Lomalos in the final day of the season). Nalvodo and Lestialce were facing Garbalona and Cuatro repsectively, while Dinamo Panaoma visit FC Vascue, who will fight it out with Cuatro and Radi, who will face Girabel in a promotion showdown.

Surprises, and plenty of them.

Of the six Primera clubs that entered the third round, only two of them survived. Gabelona surprisingly lost 2-1 against Balangay, while CF Vanie was usurped in the penalty shootout against Real Nesley. Real Rosavilla also lost in penalties against Locomotiva, and Sangtiola lost to Real Tadofal, 2-1. Sosyo overcame Decardio, 1-0 to be the remaining LP regional side remaining after VCM also lost to Atletique.

The Top Two Tiers (1/5)

Image
Liga Maharlika Segunda

Overview
18 teams contest the LM Segunda season, with the top three teams promoted to the Primera, since the desired number of 16 was already achieved in the previous season. This gave clubs motivation to work harder for an extra spot in the Primera. At the end of last season, Wanko Nocoru, CF Rumasi, Real Nonasa and Locomotiva Nandezfer were relegated from the top flight. Nonasa and Locomotiva went straight back to the Segunda after just one season while Wanko and Rumasi went down from the Primera for the first time since's the league's inception in 2013. They were replaced by champions Ryne Savio and runners up Sangtiola Nandezfer. Both clubs bounced back after a season in the second tier. As of this season, Locomotiva and Sangtiola have never met in league play since the times of the regional leagues.

International Cintore, CR Novasca, Celta Vanie and CF Nalvodo were relegated to the LM Tercera at the end of last season. CR Novasca made an immediate return to the third tier, their second time being relegated in their history, while the other three clubs were relegated for the first time in their history. They were replaced by Respeto Mogya and Real Balongaca, both bouncing back from their one-season Tercera stints.

There was one name change effective this season: After the El Dos Cantos Group left the El Dos Cantos Cadomer club, the new owners decided to rename the club EDC Cadomer, with the meaning of the initials disputed.

At the halfway stage of the season, a three horse race for the title is looking on the works, as Wanko, Nonasa and Rambo are only separated by four points at the top, after a Nomadia derby at the Estable Caballeros ended with Wanko winning. CF Rumasi, four points off Rambo, currently occupies the last SBCC spot, but should be wary at Girondins and Gustina just behind them. Locomotiva is in mid table mediocrity, 12 points off Los Caballeros, while Atleti Gueti had a miserable run, and now occupies the last relegation slot, to the joy of the Carrubonieta fans. Balangay, Rosavilla Atletico and Real Balongaca occupy the bottom three.

If you only look at the table now and the previous table, you would notice that the identities of the top and bottom four remain unchanged, however, if you look between, some significant things do happen. Real Nonasa lost third place (and fell down to as low as sixth) before reclaiming the spot just in time for Matchday 27. Also at the bottom, Real Droniolo and EDC Cadomer spent at least one matchday at the relegation zone, but as it stands, the teams that were in the bottom 4 were the ones in the hot seat with eight matches to play. As Wanko and Rambo starting to build a gap over third place, the final UICA spots and that final promotion spot are up for grabs: only a solitary point separates Real Nonasa in third and Real Baoyam in sixth.

With three matchdays to spare, Wanko Nocoru secures a ticket back to the top flight and a participation to the Series B Champions' Cup. Their 4-2 win over Internacional Nespa, coupled with Rambo Pesgem's own 4-2 defeat to Real Nonasa not only secured Wanko's title, but also returned Los Craneos de Plata y Hierro to the third promotion spot. Real Balongaca secured an immediate return to the Tercera with a draw at Respeto. Balangay and Atleti could follow them soon.

Matchday 32
Internacional Nespa 2–1 Atletico Gustina
Rosavilla Atletico 0–2 Respeto Mogya
Real Balongaca 0–1 FC Jocolim
Girondins Tossan 2–0 Locomotiva Nandezfer

Balangay Balongaca 2–1 Real Nonasa
Rambo Pesgem 1–0 Atleti Gueti (ATLETI GUETI RELEGATED)
EDC Cadomer 0–1 Real Tadofal
CF Rumasi 1–1 Wanko Nocoru

Balangay fought to live another matchday as they managed to beat Nonasa, while Girondins now hold third thanks to that and their 2-0 win over Locomotiva. Rambo solidified their promotion bid by defeating Atleti, 1-0 that sent shockwaves in Gueti, as the Carrubonieta fans celebrated Atleti's relegation and riots were started in the streets. Real Baoyam and Atletico Gustina failed to capitalize on Nonasa's defeat and thus remained on the outside looking in.

Matchday 33
CF Rumasi 0–0 Internacional Nespa
Wanko Nocoru 1–0 EDC Cadomer
Real Tadofal 1–1 Rambo Pesgem (RAMBO PESGEM PROMOTED AND QUALIFIED TO SBCC)
Atleti Gueti 1–0 Balangay Balongaca (BALANGAY BALONGACA RELEGATED)

Locomotiva Nandezfer 2–0 Real Balongaca
FC Jocolim 5–3 Rosavilla Atletico (ROSAVILLA ATLETICO RELEGATED)
Respeto Mogya 3–2 Atletico Gustina

If you are a Rambo fan or a John Utanes supporter, rejoice. If you are a Balangay Balongaca supporter, then cry. Rambo's 1-1 draw with Real Tadofal secures their ticket to the top flight after four years of waiting for promotion. Meanwhile at Gueti, Atleti took Balangay with them to relegation, as both Balongaca clubs shared the agony of going down. Rosavilla Atletico went down as well, after their 3-5 loss to FC Jocolim. Real Baoyam defeated Girondins Tossan 3-2 to allow Real Nonasa, who destroyed Real Droniolo 8-2 back into the final promotion spot and heap pressure to Les Blancs in their promotion showdown against Real Nonasa next matchday. Real Baoyam then will face already relegated Real Balongaca away and if they can win and Girondins win, then they will be promoted. FC Jocolim and Internacional Nespa have a slim chance of snatching a UICA spot.

Matchday 34
Internacional Nespa 1–0 Respeto Mogya
Atletico Gustina 2–1 FC Jocolim
Rosavilla Atletico 0–1 Locomotiva Nandezfer
Real Balongaca 1–0 Real Baoyam

Real Droniolo 4–3 Atleti Gueti
Balangay Balongaca 0–3 Real Tadofal
Rambo Pesgem 1–1 Wanko Nocoru
EDC Cadomer 1–3 CF Rumasi

Real Baoyam failed to capitalize on the 1-1 draw by Real Nonasa against Girondins Tossan, and missed out even on the UICA spots. For Los Hierros, they will be rejoiced in their return to the Primera for the second time in their history.

The Top Two Tiers (3/5)

Image
Liga Maharlika Primera
Season 2018

Matchday 10
Sangtiola Nandezfer 2–2 CF Vanie
Atletico Radi 2–4 Gabelona
Real Rosavilla 1–2 Real Tiagosan
Ryne Savio 0–1 Olympique Leonde
Tossan Saint Etudes 2–3 Deportivo Nespa
Racing Xinghua Baoyam 2–1 CD Viocla
Carbonel Nuelma 0–3 Balompie Mogya
Real Cintore 2–0 Carrubonieta Il Gueti

Sangtiola and Vanie shared the spoils in Nandezfer to continue the former's six match unbeaten streak. Vanie now has not won in four matches. Gabelona piled the misery on Atletico Radi - the fifth straight loss for Los Caballos. Real Tiagosan beat Real Rosavilla to keep pace with the leaders and stay in the hunt for UICA places. Olympique Leonde made life tougher for Savio - their 1-0 setback is now the sixth straight loss for Los Negros. Deportivo Nespa meanwhile has registered their third win in four matches and made Saint Etudes winless in seven matches. Racing Xinghua edged CD Viocla to snatch second place from Carrubonieta, who lost to Cintore. The latter remained unbeaten this season and it would look like that this team will be difficult to beat. Lastly, Carbonel continued their futility after being spanked by Balompie at home.

Matchday 11
Carrubonieta Il Gueti 3–2 Sangtiola Nandezfer
Balompie Mogya 3–2 Real Cintore
CD Viocla 1–1 Carbonel Nuelma
Deportivo Nespa 0–0 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
Olympique Leonde 0–1 Tossan Saint Etudes
Real Tiagosan 1–3 Ryne Savio
Gabelona 6–3 Real Rosavilla
CF Vanie 3–2 Atletico Radi

The seesaw battle between Carrubonieta and Racing Xinghua continued, this time in the favor of the club from Gueti. Their 3-2 over Sangtiola, coupled by a 0-0 draw in Nespa against Deportivo has now alternated wins and losses for the past five matches. That tussle for second reduced the lead by Real Cintore to four points after Balompie gave them their first defeat of the season. CD Viocla drew with Carbonel Nuelma, with Carbonel not winning in six straight matches while Viocla not winning in three. In the Pranse Derby, Tossan managed to beat Olympique 1-0, to register their first win in eight matches. The skid also ended for Ryne Savio, who beat a surprisingly weak Tiagosan side, 3-1. There were goals galore at Gabel as Gaba defeated Rosavilla to climb to a UICA spot, while CF Vanie made sure that Atletico Radi would not score points for the sixth straight time.

Matchday 12
Sangtiola Nandezfer 0–4 Atletico Radi
Real Rosavilla 1–2 CF Vanie
Ryne Savio 2–0 Gabelona

Racing Xinghua Baoyam 2–0 Olympique Leonde
Carbonel Nuelma 5–4 Deportivo Nespa
Real Cintore 2–1 CD Viocla
Carrubonieta Il Gueti 0–0 Balompie Mogya

Atletico Radi ended their losing streak in style - a 4-0 hammering of Sangtiola puts the club out of the 15th place, and consign Sangtiola into their second straight loss. CF Vanie defeated Real Rosavilla, losers of three matches in a row, to put them at the bottom of the table. This was after Carbonel defeated Deportivo Nespa 5-4 at home (and snapped their own winless streak). Ryne Savio now won their second game thanks to a win over Gaba, who remained in the UICA places despite the loss. Tossan Saint Etudes won against Real Tiagosan, with the latter absorbing their second loss in a row and down two places to seventh. The main talking point was the El Clasico de Respana Viejo, where two 'Hudas' in goal faced each other, with Cintore prevailing. it was an unpleasant return for Gerard Verdad - the match was delayed for 20 minutes for objects thrown at the Viocla goal. It now looks that CIntore will play their next two home games on restricted entry - only away fans will be permitted to enter the stadium. In other matches, Racing Xinghua defeated Olympique, 2-0 to get another sniff at second place, which has been swapped between them and Carrubonieta in a week-to-week basis, thanks to a 0-0 draw between Carrubonieta and Balompie.

Matchday 13
Balompie Mogya 3–1 Sangtiola Nandezfer
CD Viocla 5–2 Carrubonieta Il Gueti
Deportivo Nespa 4–2 Real Cintore
Olympique Leonde 4–4 Carbonel Nuelma
Real Tiagosan 0–0 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
Gabelona 4–1 Tossan Saint Etudes
CF Vanie 0–0 Ryne Savio
Atletico Radi 4–2 Real Rosavilla

Balompie beats Sangtiola, 3-1, and it is worth taking note that Balompie has not lost a match since Matchday 5. CD Viocla put five past Carrubonieta, who failed to win consecutive matches for the first time, and kept the club in third place. Deportivo Nespa remained on the outside looking in despite their impressive win over Real CIntore, who now lost their second game of the season. Olympique and Carbonel shared eight goals in Leonde. Real Tiagosan and Racing Xinghua did not score any goals, but thanks to Carrubonieta losing, and Racing Xinghua stays in second place. Gabelona scored their fourth win in five matches, thanks to a 4-1 spanking of Tossan Saint Etudes. CF Vanie drew with Ryne Savio in a battle of two teams carrying a two game winning streak, and Atletico Radi continued their recovery after winning in a six pointer against Real Rosavilla. The win pushed Los Caballos out of the drop zone and are now in 14th place.

Matchday 14
Sangtiola Nandezfer 4–2 Real Rosavilla
Ryne Savio 0–0 Atletico Radi
Tossan Saint Etudes 2–2 CF Vanie
Racing Xinghua Baoyam 4–1 Gabelona
Carbonel Nuelma 3–1 Real Tiagosan
Real Cintore 5–2 Olympique Leonde
Carrubonieta Il Gueti 0–2 Deportivo Nespa
Balompie Mogya 2–4 CD Viocla

Real Cintore outscored Olympique 5-2 to remain top of the table for Matcchday fifteen at least. Racing Xinghua has traded wins and 'not wins' for ten matchdays now, that might be a problem when the end of the season comes. Deportivo Nespa suddenly are into the Globe Cup places, thanks to a 2-0 win over Carrubonieta, who fell to fourth. CD Viocla made it way back to fifth place thanks to a 4-2 win over Balompie, and Gabelona's loss to the second placed team puts them down to sixth place. Troubling times for Real Rosavilla - their loss to Sangtiola was the fifth in a row for the Respana Nuevo club. Despite a 3-1 win against Real Tiagosan, Carbonel Nuelma stay rooted at the bottom three along with Sangtiola, who have Saint Etudes and Atletico Radi above them.

Matchday 15
CD Viocla 1–3 Sangtiola Nandezfer
Deportivo Nespa 3–2 Balompie Mogya
Olympique Leonde 0–1 Carrubonieta Il Gueti
Real Tiagosan 4–5 Real Cintore
Gabelona 4–0 Carbonel Nuelma
CF Vanie 0–1 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
Atletico Radi 2–0 Tossan Saint Etudes
Real Rosavilla 3–1 Ryne Savio

The gap at the top remains at four points after Cintore and Racing Xinghua defeated their respective opponents. Five points behind Racing Xinghua are Deportivo Nespa and Carrubonieta, who also registered solid wins. Gabelona climbed above CD Viocla after their 4-0 rout of Carbonel, with Viocla losing to Sangtiola. Real Rosavilla managed to end their five game losing streak at the expense of Savio, but are still stuck at the bottom of the table. The two Pranse clubs, Olympique and Saint Etudes are now facing the perils of relegation after losing their matches. Atletico Radi is now slowly creeping away from the relegation zone, and are now in tenth place.

Matchday 16
Sangtiola Nandezfer 1–2 Ryne Savio
Real Rosavilla 0–1 Tossan Saint Etudes
Atletico Radi 1–0 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
CF Vanie 2–3 Carbonel Nuelma
Gabelona 1–5 Real Cintore
Real Tiagosan 2–4 Carrubonieta Il Gueti
Olympique Leonde 1–1 Balompie Mogya
Deportivo Nespa 5–7 CD Viocla

Real Cintore managed to do the double over Gabelona, as their 5-1 spanking away opened up a seven point advantage at the top of the league table. Atletico Radi continued their rise after a surprise 1-0 win over Racing Xinghua, which was taken advantage by Carrubonieta, their 4-2 win against Tiagosan completed their double over them, and reduced the deficit between them and Racing XInghua to 2 points. Deportivo Nespa fell to fourth following a 12-goal spree that resulted to a 5-7 loss. This was probably the first time that Deportivo failed to beat Viocla in the league. With Olympique failing to win against Balompie, they now occupy one of the most unwanted spots in league football: the relegation zone. Despite Carbonel's 3-2 win over Vanie, they are still in the drop zone. Real Rosavilla is now four points adrift of fifteenth place after losing to Atletico Radi, who now won four matches in five.

Matchday 17
Deportivo Nespa 3–2 Sangtiola Nandezfer
CD Viocla 1–1 Olympique Leonde
Balompie Mogya 1–1 Real Tiagosan
Carrubonieta Il Gueti 3–0 Gabelona
Real Cintore 1–1 CF Vanie
Carbonel Nuelma 1–0 Atletico Radi
Racing Xinghua Baoyam 2–2 Real Rosavilla
Tossan Saint Etudes 2–1 Ryne Savio

Draws for Real Cintore and Racing Xinghua allowed Carrubonieta to creep back into the title hunt, as they run out 3-0 winners against Gabelona. Deportivo Nespa defeated Sangtiola to put them back into the relegation zone and solidify their fourth spot after CD Viocla drew with Olympique. Carbonel defeated Radi to climb out of danger for the first time in eleven matchdays. They have not been in the safe zone since Matchday 5. In other matches, Tiagosan went closer to trouble as they only drew with Balompie - coupled with Tossan's win against Ryne, they are now two spots between them and danger.

Matchday 18
Sangtiola Nandezfer 2–3 Tossan Saint Etudes
Ryne Savio 1–1 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
Real Rosavilla 2–1 Carbonel Nuelma
Atletico Radi 1–0 Real Cintore
CF Vanie 0–3 Carrubonieta Il Gueti
Gabelona 1–0 Balompie Mogya
Real Tiagosan 3–2 CD Viocla
Olympique Leonde 0–1 Deportivo Nespa

After six matchdays at second place, Racing Xinghua surrendered second place to a resurgent Carrubonieta, after the latter scored a win over Vanie and Racing failed to beat Savio. Atletico Radi continued springing up surprises, as they beat Cintore, to reduce their lead at the top of the table to just four points. Deportivo Nespa beat Olympique and Gabelona defeated Balompie to continue their good run. However at the other side of the table, Real Rosavilla is still at the bottom, but has reduced their deficit to safety to just three points.

16 Real Rosavilla 18 4 4 10 36 46 −10 16

We should credit Atletico Radi for their turnaround. After losing six straight and finding themselves rooted at the drop zone, they managed to pull some upsets to climb up the league table, and are now in ninth place. Also, Deportivo Nespa and Gabelona's turnarounds should make them contenders for the upcoming matchdays, but many fans should worry for Olympique, with two seasons being short of UICA qualification, they suddenly found themselves at the relegation zone. Carbonel should consider themselves lucky as they are playing uninspiring football as of late. There are seven points separating first and fourth, and another five point gap between Deportivo Nespa and Gabelona in fifth. But with twelve matchdays to go, anything can happen...

Copa del Barangay
Quarterfinals

Four Primera clubs and four clubs in the lower levels. Who will make the semifinals? Is there a possibility of an all-Primera (or even a no-Primera) semifinals?

Results

Atletico Viocla 2–4 Real Tiagosan
Olympique Leonde 2–0 Dinamo Panaoma
Real Nonasa 2–2 Deportivo Nespa (2–2 AET) (3–4 pen.)
Real Cintore 2–2 Internacional Nespa (4–2 AET)

What a luck, all four Primera clubs drew a respective non-Primera side, and the results, were, sort of unsurprising. Real Nonasa were the closest to an upset, they almost spoiled the return of Julius Chaves in Nonasa for the second time since he left for Nespa, but Deportivo won 4-3 on penalties. Real Cintore however needed extra time to put away a spirited Internacional Nespa side. For Real Tiagosan and Olympique Leonde however, they did not rely on either extra time or penalties to eliminate their opponents. Real Tiagosan dispatched Atletico Viocla with a convincing 4-2 victory, while Olympique blanked Dinamo Panaoma, 2-0.

The Top Two Tiers (4/5)

Image
Liga Maharlika Primera
Season 2018

Matchday 19
Olympique Leonde 1–2 Sangtiola Nandezfer
Deportivo Nespa 4–1 Real Tiagosan
CD Viocla 3–3 Gabelona
Balompie Mogya 0–0 CF Vanie
Carrubonieta Il Gueti 2–2 Atletico Radi
Real Cintore 4–4 Real Rosavilla
Carbonel Nuelma 2–4 Ryne Savio
Racing Xinghua Baoyam 1–0 Tossan Saint Etudes

Racing Xinghua and Carrubonieta's see-saw battle for second takes another twist to the plot. After Carrubonieta drew Atletico Radi 2-2, Racing Xinghuan pounced with a win against Saint Etudes. That win snapped the Tossan club's three match winning run. Meanwhile, Deportivo Nespa is on hot land as they utterly crushed Tiagosan 4-1, to grab their sixth win in seven matches, and close in on the two clubs jockeying for second place. With that win they opened a seven point gap between themselves and Gabelona, who drew with CD Viocla. Sangtiola beat Olympique to put Carbonel back into the relegation zone, after the Nuelma club were at the wrong end of a Ryne Savio double. That win by the way puts Los Negros into eighth place in the table. Real Cintore drew with Real Rosavilla 4-4 to remain atop the table.

Matchday 20
Sangtiola Nandezfer 0–1 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
Tossan Saint Etudes 0–1 Carbonel Nuelma
Ryne Savio 0–1 Real Cintore
Real Rosavilla 2–1 Carrubonieta Il Gueti
Atletico Radi 2–1 Balompie Mogya
CF Vanie 4–4 CD Viocla
Gabelona 4–4 Deportivo Nespa
Real Tiagosan 1–0 Olympique Leonde

Real Cintore defeated Ryne Savio to remain a game clear at the top of the table, with Racing Xinghua also win against Sangtiola, who remain in the drop zone. Olympique Leonde is now in a rot, they have not won a match since MD10, their latest setback against Tiagosan carved up a spot for them at the bottom of the table. Gabelona missed a big chance of slashing three points from their deficit to Deportivo Nespa with a 4-4 draw. CD Viocla also did not move up the standings because of the same scoreline against CF Vanie. There were wins for Carbonel, who climbed out of the drop zone again, and Atletico Radi, who are now in seventh place. Real Rosavilla managed to get off the bottom thanks to a 2-1 win over Carrubonieta.

Matchday 21
Real Tiagosan 5–1 Sangtiola Nandezfer
Olympique Leonde 4–3 Gabelona
Deportivo Nespa 1–0 CF Vanie
CD Viocla 2–0 Atletico Radi
Balompie Mogya 4–2 Real Rosavilla
Carrubonieta Il Gueti 1–1 Ryne Savio
Real Cintore 3–0 Tossan Saint Etudes
Carbonel Nuelma 0–1 Racing Xinghua Baoyam

After their draw against Gabelona, Deportivo Nespa returned to their winning ways as they defeated CF Vanie, and with Carrubonieta drawing Ryne, Los Islenos have found their way into third position. Real Cintore and Racing Xinghua Baoyam continued their cat and mouse chase at the top with wins against their respective opponents. Olympique beat Gabelona, 4-3 to get themselves out of bottom, which is now occupied by Sangtiola after their miserable 1-5 loss to Tiagosan. CD Viocla claimed fifth place for now after their 2-0 win over Radi. With the results in for Matchday 22, the telling fact is that the clubs from fifth to sixteenth are only separated by a mere 10 points. Anyone could be in trouble by then, and wins will be at a premium.

Matchday 22
Sangtiola Nandezfer 0–2 Carbonel Nuelma
Racing Xinghua Baoyam 5–3 Real Cintore
Tossan Saint Etudes 2–2 Carrubonieta Il Gueti
Ryne Savio 0–1 Balompie Mogya
Real Rosavilla 3–3 CD Viocla
Atletico Radi 2–1 Deportivo Nespa
CF Vanie 2–1 Olympique Leonde
Gabelona 2–0 Real Tiagosan

Racing Xinghua Baoyam's big win over Real Cintore moves them closer to the league leaders - a solitary point separates them, while Deportivo Nespa and Carrubonieta Il Gueti are fighting it out for third place. A point for Carrubonieta and a loss to Los Islenos meant that the gap between the two clubs were reduced to one. Meanwhile at the bottom, Carbonel defeated Sangtiola 2-0 to climb further up the table in 12th place. Olympique's loss and Rosavilla's draw mean that they will stay at the droop zone with Sangtiola for the time being.

Matchday 23
Gabelona 3–1 Sangtiola Nandezfer
Real Tiagosan 2–3 CF Vanie
Olympique Leonde 2–1 Atletico Radi
Deportivo Nespa 2–1 Real Rosavilla
CD Viocla 2–2 Ryne Savio
Balompie Mogya 3–2 Tossan Saint Etudes
Carrubonieta Il Gueti 1–1 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
Real Cintore 2–2 Carbonel Nuelma

A draw for Real Cintore and Racing Xinghua allowed Deportivo to edge closer to the top two, and away from Carrubonieta, who now has Gabelona to worry about. They are four points behind as they beat Sangtiola, who now lost four straight matches. Balompie has caught fire as they won their third straight match after defeating Tossan.

Matchday 24
Sangtiola Nandezfer 1–2 Real Cintore
Carbonel Nuelma 1–3 Carrubonieta Il Gueti
Racing Xinghua Baoyam 0–0 Balompie Mogya
Tossan Saint Etudes 1–2 CD Viocla
Ryne Savio 0–0 Deportivo Nespa
Real Rosavilla 0–0 Olympique Leonde
Atletico Radi 2–1 Real Tiagosan
CF Vanie 1–0 Gabelona

Real Cintore managed to get some breathing space between them and second placed Racing Xinghua as the latter failed to beat Balompie, while Deportivo managed a scoreless draw against their local rivals. Cintore's win meant that Sangtiola has now lost their last five matches, and is now a prime candidate for relegation. With developments at the top, Carrubonieta closed in to third place after their win at Nuelma. After eight matchdays at the drop zone, Olympique finally made it out thanks to a draw against Rosavilla. That climb however was at the expense of their Saint Etudes neighbors.

Matchday 25
CF Vanie 1–2 Sangtiola Nandezfer
Gabelona 2–1 Atletico Radi
Real Tiagosan 3–2 Real Rosavilla
Olympique Leonde 1–0 Ryne Savio
Deportivo Nespa 1–0 Tossan Saint Etudes
CD Viocla 0–0 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
Balompie Mogya 1–0 Carbonel Nuelma
Carrubonieta Il Gueti 0–4 Real Cintore

Real Cintore opened up a five point gap between them and Racing Xinghua, after Los Osos de Oro failed to take all points in their visit to Viocla. This was after they thrashed Carrubonieta in Gueti. Deportivo Nespa beat Tossan, while Sangtiola finally got off the bottom thanks to their win over Vanie. Rosavilla was the unfortunate one as they lose to Tiagosan and are now bottom.

Matchday 26
Sangtiola Nandezfer 2–3 Carrubonieta Il Gueti
Real Cintore 0–3 Balompie Mogya
Carbonel Nuelma 2–2 CD Viocla
Racing Xinghua Baoyam 0–0 Deportivo Nespa
Tossan Saint Etudes 4–1 Olympique Leonde
Ryne Savio 2–2 Real Tiagosan
Real Rosavilla 2–4 Gabelona
Atletico Radi 0–0 CF Vanie

The lead of Real Cintore at the top reduced to four points after their dismal showing at the hands of Balompie, who completed a rare double over Cintore. Racing Xinghua and Deportivo drew again, while Carrubonieta and Gabelona won their games. Carbonel managed to scalp points off Viocla as they now hope to survive after this season.

Matchday 27
Atletico Radi 3–0 Sangtiola Nandezfer
CF Vanie 7–2 Real Rosavilla
Gabelona 2–1 Ryne Savio
Real Tiagosan 6–1 Tossan Saint Etudes
Olympique Leonde 0–0 Racing Xinghua Baoyam
Deportivo Nespa 1–0 Carbonel Nuelma
CD Viocla 1–2 Real Cintore
Balompie Mogya 5–3 Carrubonieta Il Gueti

15 Sangtiola Nandezfer 27 6 5 16 40 60 −20 23
16 Real Rosavilla 27 5 7 15 54 74 −20 22

Real Cintore now has a six point gap at the top, and are qualified to UICA competition as well, with Racing Xinghua Baoyam and Deportivo Nespa six points behind. A win would certainly seal the title for Los Verdeblancos, who were cruising at the top thanks to their perfect start of a season, but must now be composed now that their rivals could close the gap any sooner. Especially when you realize that Racing Xinghua has drawn their last five games. Gabelona and Balompie Mogya have gained ground on the faltering Carrubonieta Il Gueti in fourth - actually, Gaba is just a point behind them now.

Sangtiola Nandezfer and Real Rosavilla should now win their remaining matches if they stand a chance of staying up. As of now, they are five and six points adrift of safety, respectively, and a loss could seal their fate. With three games to go, any club from ninth to thirteenth could go down, so it is disappointing to see Real Tiagosan in danger with three matchdays remaining.

Well, we hoped for a Nespa-Cintore finale, but, well, no. Real Tiagosan ended Deportivo Nespa's hope for silverware when they beat the Los Islenos 3-1. Sedrick Leynes and Gert Kwan scored for Las Aguilas to cancel out Nico Macahig's first half goal. The second match went to penalties, as Tristan Isip's winning penalty sent Real Cintore to their second consecutive Copa del Barangay to face their neighbors, which they hope they can win this time.

The tight battle at the top just got tighter.

With Racing Xinghua and Deportivo Nespa qualifying for UICA after their wins over Real Tiagosan and Real Cintore, in which the latter was doubled again for the second time this season, the race at the top is once again a three horse race to the finish, which we could recall what happened last season... Meanwhile, Gabelona's win over Tossan was crucial - with Carrubonieta drawing CD Viocla, the gap between the two clubs and for the final UICA spot was reduced to a solitary point. With two matches to go, it is looking likely that these two clubs will do battle for that Globe Cup spot.

LM Primera Bottom Six Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts

16 Real Rosavilla 28 5 7 16 57 80 −23 22 RELEGATED

Real Rosavilla's loss to Atletico Radi sends the Respana Nuevo club down for the first time in their history. Sangtiola and Carbonel managed to win their games to increase their chances of survival and for the latter to climb out relegation at the expense of Tossan, who along with Olympique, lost. We had not heard anything from Ryne Savio recently, but they are in the mix, but they are likely to be the first promoted team to ever survive the Barangayan top flight. But they had to win their next games in order to do so.

Matchday 29
Real Rosavilla 3–4 Sangtiola Nandezfer
Atletico Radi 2–2 Ryne Savio
CF Vanie 0–0 Tossan Saint Etudes
Gabelona 2–2 Racing Xinghua Baoyam

The last day of the season could be a make or break season for any team in the top of the table. With two points separating Real Cintore, Racing Xinghua Baoyam and Deportivo Nespa, a win against local rivals Real Tiagosan at home will secure the title for Los Verdeblancos, no matter what happens. With goal difference playing a key factor (and Real Cintore not holding any head to head advantages), a draw could lead to Cintore losing it yet again... Racing Xinghua host Vanie while Deportivo visit Balompie.

Balompie Mogya vs Deportivo Nespa
Racing Xinghua Baoyam vs CF Vanie
Real Cintore vs Real Tiagosan

The race for the final UICA spot will also go down the wire, as Gabelona visit relegation threatened Carbonel, while Carrubonieta, whose fans are wearing the blue and white strips to "commemorate" Atleti's relegation from the Segunda, host another relegation threatened side in Olympique.

Carbonel Nuelma vs Gabelona
Carrubonieta Il Gueti vs Olympique Leonde

LM Primera 11th-15th Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
11 Ryne Savio 29 8 8 13 28 31 −3 32

14 Tossan Saint Etudes 29 8 5 16 38 55 −17 29
15 Sangtiola Nandezfer 29 8 5 16 46 64 −18 29

One thing is clear for both Tossan Saint Etudes and Sangtiola Nandezfer - win their matches. A draw is not enough (unless Carbonel loses by more than 8 goals) for either of them to stay up. Carbonel also needed to hold off a red hot Gabelona to survive. Ryne and Olympique would have an easier task - draw and they survive.

Copa del Barangay
Final

They faced each other at the final day of the season, and they faced again, this time for the Cup. Real Cintore were looking to forget the wounds of the past and win the double this season, while the youngsters of Tiagosan are looking for vindication after losing Marty Balido to Cintore and enduring a difficult season in which they failed to qualify of the UICA.

Real Cintore 2-3 Real Tiagosan [HT 1-1]
RCI: Aragon 14', Tisang 55'
RTI: Marchadesch 20', Yparraguirre 76', Valencia 84'

Lineups
RCI: Marty Balido; Joed Apuntar, Nikko Tisang, Stephen Villarosa, Roman Ongcoy; Jared Anderson (TLI), Jude Frias, Ichiro Mateo, Mac Aragon; Joey Jardinico, Kristian Marabella (Subs: Rayson Carrera; Casey Oliveros, Izrael Militar; Ovid Lao, Paul Ramirez; Tristan Isip, Emanuel Munar)
RTI: Rupert Senosin; Jon Osido, Mari Arceo, Clarence Directo, Gnekgeyuc Sixele (ATB); Rennel Valencia, Adrian Dargantes, Kid Marchadesch; Reimond Yparaguirre, Jeremy Datu, Sedrick Leynes (Subs: Ford Alinabon; Enrique delos Santos, Alberto Loya, Kristoffer Iyog; Victorio Tan, Lorenzo Carpio; Gert Kwan)
And it was Las Aguilas who win the title after ninety minutes. Mac Aragon gave Los Verdeblancos the lead at the fourteenth minute, before Kid Marchadesch, the kid who almost cost Cintore the league title, equalized six minutes later with a beautiful free kick. Nikko Tisang put the league champions ahead again via a header from a Jared Anderson corner in the 55th minute, before Reimond Yparraguirre equalized with a blistering half volley, before Rennel Valencia snatched the win away from their neighbors as they win the Copa del Barangay and seal a ticket to the Cygnus Cup.

Maybe next time for Real Cintore, but a chance for payback is on when the two sides collide again at the Supercopa next season. Ciao!

The exit of Ati Kaluraya from the Fipino Federation marks the dawn of the new era for the then New Manoglu Jets and Jah'mila Samudra. New Manoglu retained the Jets monicker and its players, but without the "New" as they relocated to Manoglu, and a businessman from Nardober bought Jah'mila to rename it RLC Nardober.

BLA
Besbol Liga ng Alitaba
Inagural Season

After The Royal Barangay decided to cease baseball leagues in their nation, Alitaban teams were left without a league. Fortunately, some businessmen were interested in fielding baseball teams just for the sake of national pride. Yes, national "pride". The Original Six were joined by five new Alitaban Teams, and a "Guest" team from Senippilihp Region (Rehiyong Sanipilip/Gnoyiher Sanipilip) named "Noyskeles Sanipilip".

BCCC Qualification:
  • Top team per division qualifies for BCCC (Seeds 3 and 4 depending on outcome of playoffs).
  • A playoff involving the eight teams will take place, and the finalists will get the other two BCCC spots.
  • Should any top team reach the final, seed/s 3 and/or 4 will go to the second placed team with their respective divisions.

Liga Maharlika Primera
Season 2019 Preview
PART I

A new champion emerged on the last day of the competition last season, and they will look to consolidate their spot in the top of Barangayan football.

Real Cintore emerged winners of the 2018 season after a last day draw against Real Tiagosan, that gave them the edge over Racing Xinghua Baoyam via goal difference. The win gave them redemption from their runners-up finish to Deportivo Nespa at the inagural season. It has been a strong showing by the Barangayan clubs in the multiverse, as Racing Xinghua Baoyam, despite being runners up, made it to the knockout stages of the Globe Cup, after Real Cintore showed a similar feat two UICA cycles ago.

At the other side of the table, no promoted sides were relegated straight back to the Segunda; Ryne Savio and Sangtiola Nandezfer survived relegation at the last day of the season, and Carbonel Nuelma, Real Rosavilla and Tossan Saint Etudes went down, being relegated for the first time in their league stints.

Past Champions
2013-14 - Deportivo Nespa
2014-15 - Deportivo Nespa
2015-16 - not held
2017 - Racing Xinghua Baoyam
2018 - Real Cintore

This season, three new clubs enter the top division: Wanko Nocoru, Rambo Pesgem and Real Nonasa. Wanko won the league and went back up after just one season down in the second tier. Rambo had a five year absence before returning to the top flight, while Real Nonasa had similar fates with Wanko, spending a solitary season in the second tier.

OTHER LEAGUES
  • Tercera - Balangay Balongaca and FC Vascue lead the table with nine points, but Balangay leads Vascue by virtue of a 3-2 win back in the second matchday. Resituto Nuelma, Real Nesley, CF Nalvodo and Rayo Diabuen leads the chasing pack with seven points. At the bottom, Leonde Sport and CR Novasca occupy the relegation spots.
  • Pambansa - After the first five matchdays, Policia Panaoma leads the table with 13 points, one point ahead of Deportivo Nalvodo, who leads Atletico Droniolo for the final promotion spot by a virtue of goal difference. Due to the league re-expanding to 18 teams, only two teams (rather than four, as planned) will relegated to the Pangrehiyon, and FC Lestialce and the other Panaoma club, DInamo occupying those danger spots.
  • Pangrehiyon - At the Hilaga, CF Dradean and Fuerza Catobon are tied for the lead with eleven points and a +5 goal difference, with the teams yet to meet. CF Lafoxpa, Dinamo Lomalos and Barunio Asi follow them closely, while FC Nganpo would not need to worry being at the bottom, with relegation from the Tier 5 not yet in implementation; however, they are yet to log in their first points. At the Timog, Chateroux Mosra leads Sangtial Vascue by a point, 13 to 12, with Recreativo Nonasa three points behind the leaders.CF Latbatba, CF Tistabau and FC Trocas are the bottom three.
  • Pangunlad: Six teams will be promoted to Tier 5 next season. These spots are currently occupied by Guerreros Zalesgon (16, +9), Olympique Teveses (16, +8), CF Sangti (13, +6), Veritas Verosoli (11, +2), Sporting Nutoca (10, +5) and Academica Bonher (10, 0). Project +90 Sangti have logged 8 points so far in their debut campaign and it looks that they will pick up their pace now if not later.
