It was finals day at the Esportiva Union Cup. Triimorian faced firm underdogs, Estope. Triimoria, for the first time ever, were tipped to take the championship. However, a spirited and determined Estope side defeated the Triimorians, destroying the Triimorian nation's hopes and dreams. Triimoria could not find the try scoring form that they had displayed throughout the tournament. They scored no tries.

Things started well enough for Triimoria, the first points went to them. Dagmont slotting away a penalty thirteen minutes in. They doubled their lead in the twenty-ninth minute he scored a second. This time for an Estope player's high tackle. Estope were on the back-foot, but they hadn't given up. On the thirty-fourth minute they scored a break-away try. Their wing flying down the wing to score, he was so far from every other player he had time to touch down in between the posts making an easy conversion which was scored. 7-6 to Estope at half-time.

Two minutes in, Triimoria re-asserted their lead. Yet another penalty. Despite the large amount of pressure that Triimoria heaped upon Estope they were proving frustratingly hard to break. Estope now slipped away from Triimoria. Two penalties on the fifty-sixth and sixty-seventh minutes were scored. The game ended with Triimoria on Estope's try line, but no matter what they just could not score. The final whistle blew, Estope took the cup.

Despite the general dismay in Triimoria from the loss, a runners-up place is nothing to be sniffed at. This should prepare the Triimorian side for the upcoming Sevens and Union Rugby World Cups.
