Greetings one and all to the First Great Paradystopi Enneadathelon. A week long event designed to celebrate native and ancient sports of Paradystopia culminating in the crowning of our first Champion Enneadathelete. Each of the 4 provinces of Paradystopia (counting the Island Monarchy of Kinshish as a seperate province) has elected 2 sports native to their homeland, or modern equivalent of these sports which are all combined into 1 long event over 5 days. Here are the sports involved and their method of ranking the competitors. (xkoranation method shown in brackets. Most atheletic events will use 'female' in their scorination, this is to provide scores/times more befitting rounded atheletes. The gender of the athelete is irrelevant in the scorination of the Enneadathlon.).
Day One: Northern Paradystopia Section
Sword-Fighting (Fencing, individual sabre) - Groups and Ranked Knockout
Long Jumping (Long jump, womens) - Heats and Final
Day Two: Island Provinces of Paradystopia Section
The Spear Toss (Javelin, womens) - Heats and Final
Swimming (1500m, mens) - Separate heats, best time wins
Day Three: Southern Paradystopia Section

Archery (Field archery, barebow, unmarked targets, mens) - Groups and Ranked Knockout
Day Four: The Island Monarchy of Kinshish Section

Day Five: The Crowning of the Champion

Presentation Ceremony
Each of the four provinces has provided five atheletes, making an overall field of twenty. Here are the competing atheletes. (Each athelete has up to 300 points to spread across the 9 events with a maximum of 100 in any one event. For some of the competitors, I have lowered this number to 260 or 220. The reasoning for this is that my idea for a ranking system revolves around the better your performance overall, the more points you are allocated for subsequent tournaments. So I'm just testing an idea)
Should an athelete place within the top 12 in any event, they score points toward their final score.
1st - 100
2nd - 75
3rd - 55
4th - 40
5th - 30
6th - 25
7th - 20
8th - 15
9th - 11
10th - 8
11th - 6
12th - 5
In the events comprising of heats/qualification and final, the final will consist of 12 atheletes. This means that qualification into the final will guarantee a points finish. In the case of the Swimming, the Boat Race and the Long foot race, the 12 fastest times will win points accordingly and in the case of the sword-fighting, the knock-out stage of 16 will progress until an order is found. Ranking is ordered in accordance with the number of victories.
So that's the basics of the Enneadathelon covered. Stay tuned for the Sword-Fighting and Long Jumping. Coming soon!
