The Zandito pitching staff completely reasserted its dominance, shutting out the Giants attack that had looked so potent in Game 1. After scoring 8 runs in the first four innings of the series, the Giants scored only 6 over the next 41, as the Zanditos consistently scratched across just enough runs to win. Four wins in a row for the Zanditos, and a ZLB Championship.

ZANDISTANI PREMIER LEAGUE, SEASON 6

Last year's champions Coastal Zandar United stumbled out of the gates but came on strong in the second half to move within a point of the lead with one matchday to play. However, United lost 1-0 to the fourth-placed Saskerton Tails to finish second, while the Greenbacks defeated Royal Zeldenfar 2-0 to take their second title in three years. Also a point of interest was the resurgence of Fortunata International. After stumbling to 13th in the table the prior year, they rebounded to finish third. Also, Quantum Zeldenfar, in dead last after 20 matches with a record of 1-6-13, stunningly finished 5-3-2 for 18 points and a...tie for last.

The Cameros held on to their playoff spot by a game, but played the second half of the season 3-6. The Wild Hogs won their last four to get to 9-9, but due to two head-to-head losses to the Greens, were ousted from the playoffs. Collapsing at the end were the Melloland Destroyers, finishing 1-3 to end a game out of contention. Semifinal playoff matchups: Whistlers v Greens and Thunder v Cameros. Also, for the first time in the league's history, they are sending the top four teams to the International Gridiron Champions League, as the squads hope to bring international credibility to this young league.

As a 6-6 game neared halftime, the Whistlers scored the only touchdown of the game on a pick-six, opening up a 13-6 lead that was sealed with two second-half field goals. Whistlers to the Zander Bowl for the sixth straight time, seeking a fourth championship.

The Cameros came out flat, falling behind 14-0 after just six minutes of play. Still, by halftime the struggling team had managed to come back and make it 14-10. But in the second half, the Cameros came out flat another time to fall back 24-10, a deficit they would not recover from. The Thunder advance to challenge the Whistlers for the fourth straight time.

In the fifth Zander Bowl matchup between these teams, the Thunder were simply overmatched. After a lucky 77-yard touchdown run to take a 7-6 second quarter lead, the Thunder would not score again until the fourth quarter, when a field goal followed an interception and negative-yardage drive. Excluding the 77-yard play, the Whistlers showed defensive dominance in holding the Thunder to less than 100 yards of total offense, securing a 23-10 win for their fourth Zander Bowl title. However, the league would like to see some other teams possibly win the Zander Bowl, or at least make it there, after the Thunder and Whistlers have run ragged four years counting.

This year, the league expanded its season length to 66 games from 44. The Krumping Bay Giants held the league lead through nearly two-thirds of the season. However, they finished the season 4-18 to land a game out of playoff position, behind crosstown rivals the Krumping Bay Zanditos.

The Zanditos only scored three runs in the last three games after scoring seven in the first. Dodgers win 3-1, on to face the Tigers or WarHawks.

The WarHawks established early control with a 3-0 2nd inning lead, and Melloland's last-gasp rally in the ninth never worried WarHawk fans. A 5-1 victory and a 4-2 series win, and Saskerton had their third title in five seasons, but none consecutively.
