With just 6 matchdays of the season left, Gwinevra still lead, but not by much. Dwile Warriors, despite struggling, have managed to keep 2nd place in the table, while surprisers Egloskerry jump into 3rd place after an impressive run of games. Issington F.C have 4th, but only just, as fellow overacheivers Mandon United are only behind on goal differnce. Down in the relegation battle, Mona A.F.C have managed to manoeuvre themselves into 10th place, while Athletico Standard and Barbury Town, both having poor season, are stuck in the relegation spots, Barbury being 7 points from safety, in what is looking like the season where they will drop down a league.

ANL League 2

In the second tier, there is much excitement to see who will win, with Exton F.C continuing to lead the pack. Cierbana United have got to second after a good run, as they look to return to the top flight after their relegation after the inaugural season. In the SBCC spots currently sit Miners '87 and Gurdle A.F.C although Sunshine Athletic and Real Dwile could still very easily make those spots. Down the other end, Frewick F.C currently occupy the bottom spot after a terrible decline in form, and Lighthouse Coves and Urbanista Trojans lie not far above.

Part Four

And the season has finished! Gwinevra Barbarians retain their title, increasing the duopoly on the tournament that they and Dwile Warriors have had since its creation. Egloskerry finish 3rd in a great performance by them, and so they qualify for the Globe Cup for the first time. Issington F.C, although they didn't get the title they wanted, finished 4th after jumping about all over the table, so Globe Cup for them as well. Urbanista, for the first time, miss out on a Globe Cup spot, and so they'll have to make do with the Iskander-Scott Cup against the winners of the Iskandic League, St George's Creek.

Further down, Wye United and Mandon United had a good season, finishing 6th and 7th respectively. Mona A.F.C just manage to survive finishing 10th, whilst Athletico Standard and Barbury Town finish in the relegation spots, Barbury after having a spectacularly bad season.

After a strong campaign, Exton F.C are straight back to the top. Cierbana will be delighted to join them, three seasons after they were knocked-out. Gurdle A.F.C and Miners '47 will join those two in the SBCC. Sunshine Athletic and Southtown came close, but ultimately fell at the last hurdle. And at the bottom Frewick F.C came last by a resounding 9 points.

Preview

The new football season has the potential to be the best yet. Dwile Warriors and Gwienvra Barbarians have both added to their squads, whilst Issington F.C has been bought by John Regis, coal tycoon, who's fortune is said to be more than £800 million. As a result, Issington now have a new manager, experienced Kelly Smith, and they've spent in the transfer market, bringing Chris Maarsden to the club for a record 7.8 million chucks amongst other buys.

Many other teams have spent in the largest transfer season yet to date, with notable others being Egloskerry, Wye United and Wrexton F.C all adding to their squads. We spoke to Jon Quillisi of the APX Sports.

Jon Quillisi: Well, this year looks like the most competitive for the title that we've seen. Dwile Warriors haven't added any stars to their line-up, but they have strengthened and sought to fill gaps. Gwinevra Barbarians, whatever they say, will have suffered from the loss of Chris Maarsden, and I'm not sure if Brandon Lisbon has the qualities they need. They got a big payout from Issington, now they need to go and use that money to probably buy in another striker. Issington F.C on the other hand, have the strongest squad in the league this season, however, I don't know if Kelly Smith can mould them together, if she can then they will almost definitely win, not only have they brought in Chris, but the rising star Jack Moses, Audioslavian Wim Van Wildernis and Paradisian midfielder Michael Hunter on a free. That a squad to get you excited.

Of the others, Urbanista look the best suited to challenge for the higher places, although that is dependant on Dravid Scott performing, if he doesn't then they won't do that well. Egloskerry have spent modestly on Johnathan Roberts from Mantwenic and Jack Gregory from Boring Paradise, they clearly want to stay in the Globe Cup positions. Wye United and FC Brimstone have both added one or two players, to keep them about the relegation battle, and Wrexton have brought in Ashrav Bilotti to help Oliver Donliver up front. The other teams will be anxiously trying to avoid the drop this season, as like previous seasons, the gap between the Globe Cup and relegation won't be that great, and a couple of bad games could end you in danger.

In terms of format, the league is the same as last year, with 12 teams, the top 4 gaining UICA places, unless a fantastic UICA performance occurs in this years competitions.

ANL League 2

The ANL second division will likely also be closely fought this year. First though, two teams have changed their names slightly, one significantly and another less so. The less significant, is Athletico Standard changing their name to Atletico Standard after a supporters opinion poll.

The more important news though is the name change for Real Dwile. Since the club was founded 4 years ago, it has been aiming to re-inherit the name of FC Endeavour, widely hailed as the greatest Apoxian football club of all time before its collapse in the 530's. However, they finally won rights to its name, and the name change has been agreed. Many great Apoxian players have come out of retirement, or postponed it, to join the club, with Javis Staniels moving from Dwile Warriors to FC Endeavour on a 1 year contract, postponing his retirement. Donnie Rathburn, past vice-captain of Apox is coming out of retirement to play, along with genius striker, Stan Miller, these players being aged, 38 and 39 respectively. The club has also got many excited youngsters signing up, and is now one of the promotion favourites, along with Miners '47 and Barbury Town.

Bar these changes, the league will operate in the same way, with 15 clubs in it and the top two gaining promotion.

Rugby Re-Shuffling

The Apox Rugby Eight has expanded to include two more teams, both hailing from Old Guard as the two countries look to increase their sporting ties to each other. The clubs included were Oldem Academicals, the university team on Old Guard and Hudd Trolls, made up of the trolls who reside in the Hudd area of Old Guard. These two team were looking for a more competitive environment to play rugby in, and they have been inducted into the Apox Rugby Eight, which has now become the Apox Rugby Ten as a result. The other teams have remained the same, with Dwile Jerseys, Gwinevra Saints and JK Memorial Squad set to be the favourites for this season.

Apox Rugby Ten (ART) - Season 3 Review

The 3rd Season of the ARE has seen expansion and a name change, as Dwile Jerseys soar to a first title, three different title winners in three years, after Hudd Trolls from Old Guard impressed in their first season, being only 1 point behind the leaders, and pushing them all the way to the end. JK Memorial Squad eventually came 3rd after a poor start and Mandon Faithful return once again to Seasogs after a poor showing last season.

Oldem Academicals played well as well as the other team coming in finishing 5th. Down the other end, the usual suspects of Barbury Exiles, Southern Urbanista and Mona Warriors rounding it off.

Part One

A fifth season commences for the ANL now, and one thing that's guaranteed is that there will be excitement. Let's see what's happened in the League after 6 matches. Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday One
Dwile Warriors 3–3 Mona A.F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 5–1 Cierbana United
Issington F.C 3–1 Exton F.C
Urbanista 1–2 FC Brimstone
Egloskerry 2–3 Mandon United
Wrexton F.C 1–0 Wye United

Gwinevra Barbarians send out a message of intent right from the get-go, and smash newly promoted Cierbana United 5-1. Issington also win to help them maintain momentum, while Dwile Warriors have to settle for a disappointing draw to Mona A.F.C. Mandon United and FC Brimstone both win away and tough opposition to stake their claims, as Mandon look to cement their place in the league.

Matchday Two
Mona A.F.C 3–1 Wye United
Mandon United 3–2 Wrexton F.C
FC Brimstone 4–2 Egloskerry
Exton F.C 1–0 Urbanista
Cierbana United 0–1 Issington F.C
Dwile Warriors 2–2 Gwinevra Barbarians

Gwinevra and the Warriors draw in a tense match, meaning they both allow Issington to get an early lead. Mandon and FC Brimstone continue their good starts to the league, while lowly Exton gain a crucial win over Urbanista as they look to avoid relegation after bouncing back up after a season in the second tier.

Matchday Three
Gwinevra Barbarians 7–1 Mona A.F.C
Issington F.C 1–0 Dwile Warriors
Urbanista 1–0 Cierbana United
Egloskerry 1–0 Exton F.C
Wrexton F.C 3–1 FC Brimstone
Wye United 0–0 Mandon United

Gwinevra romp past Mona in style with the highest score by a team, although they are denied the top place by Issington beating Dwile Warriors, who look which lost this season being yet to win a game. Urbanista get a much needed first win of the season over fellow lowly-ranked Cierbana, and Mandon remain unbeaten after a boring 0-0 draw away at Wye United.

Matchday Four
Mona A.F.C 3–3 Mandon United
FC Brimstone 0–1 Wye United
Exton F.C 1–0 Wrexton F.C
Cierbana United 1–2 Egloskerry
Dwile Warriors 2–1 Urbanista
Gwinevra Barbarians 0–0 Issington F.C

A key battle in the fate of the title is undecided after Issington and Gwinevra draw, in a boring fashion. Dwile slip past Urbanista to record a first win, to add to Urbanista's troubles. Mandon have to take a draw against Mona, but still look good and are still in it. Wrexton who have been quietly returning to successful ways after a couple of poor seasons, lose to Exton, who are proving to be quite useful this time round.

Machday Five
Issington F.C 3–1 Mona A.F.C
Urbanista 0–1 Gwinevra Barbarians
Egloskerry 2–2 Dwile Warriors
Wrexton F.C 4–1 Cierbana United
Wye United 1–0 Exton F.C
Mandon United 2–1 FC Brimstone

Mandon continue their unbeaten run by beating FC Brimstone, and they are definitely turning out to be the surprise package this season. Issington maintain the lead with a solid win over Mona, while Gwinevra narrowly beat Urbanista, who looked for a time as though they would win it. Dwile Warriors have yet another draw, this time against Egloskerry. Cierbana look set for a swift return to the second tier as they are yet to pick up any points.

Matchday Six
Mona A.F.C 0–2 FC Brimstone
Exton F.C 1–3 Mandon United
Cierbana United 1–0 Wye United
Dwile Warriors 1–0 Wrexton F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 4–0 Egloskerry
Issington F.C 2–3 Urbanista

Cierbana finally pick up some points, with a win over Wye United! All the contenders win except for Issington, who lose to a rapidly improving Urbanista, meaning they fall to 3rd, behind Gwinevra and Mandon, both of whom take home wins, along with Dwile Warriors who look to be getting their season back together after a bad start.

ANL League 2

There's much excitement in the ANL2, as FC Endeavour seem unstoppable, only dropping 5 points after 8 matches, and look destined for promotion. Below them Barbury Town are quite comfortable in second, and they'll be hoping for a quick return to the top tier. Lighthouse Coves are the surprise act in this league, performing admirably and Atletico Standard fill out the remainder of the SBCC slots for now. SBCC teams from last season, Miners '47 and Gurdle A.F.C aren't currently performing as well, although Miners are in 5th so still very much in contention, while Gurdle A.F.C find themselves in 9th after an average season so far. Down the other end Outer Suburbia and Frewick F.C seem stuck to the bottom spots, once again not doing very well, with Frewick yet to win. Here's the full table:

Iskandic League Season 2

The season has come to a close, after a climatic last few weeks saw Moscva 2k12 overcome TP Indians for the title. TP Indians fell to 3rd after Oldem Gents Club had a good late run to take 2nd place.

Season attendances were up slightly over the first season as Oldem Gent's Club had the highest average attendance (1,320) and the highest individual attendance (1,842), meaning its stadium was more than 50% for the entire season. The lowest attendance went to The Dambusters, who had an average of 109, and a low of 12. Here's a quick table with the attendances matched up with town of origin and league finishing position.

Club Av Att. High Att. Town of Origin Position
Moscva 2k12 957 1,282 Tellabocari 1st
Oldem Gent's Club 1,320 1,842 Oldem 2nd
TP Indians 1,009 1,254 Tellabocari 3rd
St George's Creek 849 1,000 Oldem 4th
Don't Panic FC 439 617 Kettle 5th
Hudd Rovers 664 812 Hudd 6th
The Dambusters 109 156 Once Lost 7th
Old Guard Regiment 502 669 Oldem 8th

Guardian teams are notoriously defensive, with a large amount of draws occuring, with 16 draws taking place out of the 56 matches that took place, the highest score being a 6-1 thrashing by St George's Creek of Hudd Rovers. Below is the table:

No Club Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Moscva 2k12 14 8 5 1 24 15 +9 29 - Iskander-Scott Cup, CdC
2 Oldem Gents Club 14 7 5 2 14 5 +9 26
3 TP Indians 14 6 7 1 21 12 +9 25
4 St George's Creek 14 5 7 2 23 12 +11 22
5 Don't Panic FC 14 5 4 5 9 10 −1 19
6 Hudd Rovers 14 4 4 6 16 20 −4 16
7 The Dambusters 14 1 3 10 10 25 −15 6
8 Old Guard Regiment 14 1 3 10 9 27 −18 6

Therefore, Moscva 2k12 will advance to the Iskander-Scott Cup against the 5th placed team from the Apox National League, and also to the CdC of Rushmore.

Part Two

Its the halfway stage of the season, and Issington FC have taken a narrow, one point lead over Gwinevra Barbarians. Overachievers Mandon United and a recently revived Dwile Warriors side are below in 3rd and 4th, both being on 19 points. Urbanista and Egloskerry then lurk just below the Globe spots, although they are very much still in contention. Down the other end, it's a scrap between Wye, Exton, Mona and Cierbana in the relegation battle.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 7
Urbanista 3–1 Mona A.F.C
Egloskerry 1–2 Issington F.C
Wrexton F.C 2–1 Gwinevra Barbarians
Wye United 3–2 Dwile Warriors
Mandon United 3–1 Cierbana United
FC Brimstone 0–0 Exton F.C

Issington win while their main title rivals, Gwinevra Barbarians and Dwile Warriors both lose allowing Mandon to temporarily take the top spot and Issington to overtake Gwinevra. Mona and Cierbana both lose which deepens their troubles, but Exton manage a draw against FC Brimstone.

Matchday 8
Mona A.F.C 4–2 Exton F.C
Cierbana United 1–0 FC Brimstone
Dwile Warriors 6–5 Mandon United
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–2 Wye United
Issington F.C 3–2 Wrexton F.C
Urbanista 1–1 Egloskerry

Issington win again, whilst a goal fest in the APX Sports Stadium with the Warriors eventually coming out on top allows Issington to go top once more, with Gwinevra drawing against Wye to help secure Issington's position. Urbanista and Egloskerry draw which helps neither of their Globe Cup hopes, while Cierbana and Mona both snatch rare wins.

Matchday 9
Egloskerry 5–1 Mona A.F.C
Wrexton F.C 0–2 Urbanista
Wye United 0–2 Issington F.C
Mandon United 1–3 Gwinevra Barbarians
FC Brimstone 2–2 Dwile Warriors
Exton F.C 1–0 Cierbana United

Exton grab a crucial win over Cierbana in a bid to stay away from the relegation zone, while Mona are thrashed by Egloskerry. Issington maintain distance at the top with a win over Wye, but Gwinevra Barbarians win over Mandon which allows them to move smoothly into second and prepare to hunt down the leaders.

Matchday 10
Mona A.F.C 0–1 Cierbana United
Dwile Warriors 1–0 Exton F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 3–2 FC Brimstone
Issington F.C 1–1 Mandon United
Urbanista 3–0 Wye United
Egloskerry 1–0 Wrexton F.C

Issington draw against Mandon, helping neither cause, while Gwinevra overcome a tricky FC Brimstone side to close the gap at the top to 2 points. The Warriors continue their remarkable run up the table, although Exton didn't offer much resistance, and Cierbana this time win a crucial relegation battle match over Mona, dragging them off the bottom spot.

Matchday 11
Wrexton F.C 0–0 Mona A.F.C
Wye United 2–2 Egloskerry
Mandon United 0–0 Urbanista
FC Brimstone 2–0 Issington F.C
Exton F.C 5–5 Gwinevra Barbarians
Cierbana United 0–1 Dwile Warriors

Exton refuse to let Gwinevra beat them, no matter how many goals they score, although Issington seem to be faltering losing to FC Brimstone. Dwile Warriors seem to have some difficulty overcoming Cierbana, Ricardo Caulderon's goal being the only difference between the sides.

No Club Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts

ANL League 2

FC Endeavour hold onto the top spot, currently being two points over Barbury Town who are seeking an instant return to top-flight football. Below them, Miners '47 have had a good last few games and now find themselves 3rd. Barbury FC have also been having a good season, and lie 4th. Lighthouse Coves are stumbling after a dream start to the season, currently 7 points off the top, having been early promotion contenders. Down the other end, Southtown are having a very poor season, while Old Licentians also struggle. It's now all bad new though, as Frewick F.C have moved off the bottom spot, albeit, only on goal difference, with that dubious honour going to Outer Suburbia.

Part Three

It's three-quarters of the way through the season and Issington have strengthened their lead at the top, now leading by 6 points with 6 games to go. Gwinevra Barbarians have looked slightly unconfident at time, but have managed to keep second place. Wrexton F.C will be surprised to find themselves back in Globe Cup competition after a good run, having not lost a game in 7 matches, while Dwile Warriors round off the Globe Cup spots, only placed 4th as a result of any lack of consistency. Below these positions, Urbanista, Mandon and Egloskerry are all still very much in contention for a Globe Cup spot with 3 games left. In the relegation, at the moment it looks like the teams who came up are likely to go down, although Wye United are only safe on goal difference at the moment.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 12
Mona A.F.C 1–1 Dwile Warriors
Cierbana United 1–1 Gwinevra Barbarians
Exton F.C 2–3 Issington F.C
FC Brimstone 3–2 Urbanista
Mandon United 3–2 Egloskerry
Wye United 1–1 Wrexton F.C

Dwile Warriors and Gwinevra both draw, giving Issington a chance to put ground between themselves and the other candidates for the title, although Mandon were just about able to overcome Egloskerry. Cierbana and Mona draw, while a loss for Exton drags them into the relegation battle.

Matchday 13
Wye United 0–1 Mona A.F.C
Wrexton F.C 1–0 Mandon United
Egloskerry 2–1 FC Brimstone
Urbanista 3–0 Exton F.C
Issington F.C 2–0 Cierbana United
Gwinevra Barbarians 0–0 Dwile Warriors

Urbanista win comfortably over Exton to propel them up the table, whereas Gwinevra and Dwile draw with each other, and Issington win again, to give Issington real hope that they can carry through and win the title. Mona A.F.C seem to be attempting to pull off a miraculous escape from relegation, beating Wye away in a close game.

Matchday 14
Mona A.F.C 3–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Dwile Warriors 2–2 Issington F.C
Cierbana United 1–1 Urbanista
Exton F.C 0–1 Egloskerry
FC Brimstone 0–2 Wrexton F.C
Mandon United 3–3 Wye United

Mona surprisingly beat Gwinevra, to take them out of the relegation zone, and makes Gwinevra's awful run of form continue. Dwile and Issington draw, in a thrilling encounter, whilst Mandon draw with Wye, to drag them down into the middle group of clubs who are likely to contest for spots from 3rd to 8th, a far cry from their title hopes at the start of the season.

Matchday 15
Mandon United 1–1 Mona A.F.C
Wye United 0–1 FC Brimstone
Wrexton F.C 3–0 Exton F.C
Egloskerry 1–0 Cierbana United
Urbanista 2–0 Dwile Warriors
Issington F.C 3–3 Gwinevra Barbarians

FC Brimstone, the perennial mid-table finishers beat Wye United in a key match for both, whilst Wrexton continue their good form with a 3-0 routing off Exton. Urbanista beat Dwile Warriors, to add fire to their campaign, and Issington and Gwinevra draw, just to make things more interesting at the top.

Matchday 16
Mona A.F.C 1–2 Issington F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–1 Urbanista
Dwile Warriors 5–0 Egloskerry
Cierbana United 0–1 Wrexton F.C
Exton F.C 2–1 Wye United
FC Brimstone 2–1 Mandon United

Issington return to winning ways, beating Mona a lot more comfortably than a 2-1 scoreline suggests, and at this stage looking every part like champions. Gwinevra keep up though by beating Urbanista, and the Globe Cup spots are filled out at this stage but Dwile Warriors trouncing Egloskerry 5-0 and Wrexton beating Egloskerry to find themselves 3rd.

No Club Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts

ANL League 2

Barbury are top with a game in hand, and also 5 points from 3rd, and so look certain to return to the top. FC Endeavour also look like they will be promoted at this rate, with them also being in second. Gwinevra Bulls and Urbanista Trojans are both having great seasons, both being in with chances of SBCC spots, although Miners '47 hover closely behind along with Lighthouse Coves and Sunshine Athletic. Gurdle A.F.C linger down the other end, along with Southtown both having poor seasons, while Old Licentians are currently bottom, Frewick F.C having climbed to new heights of 13th, having at one point been 12th.

Part Four

The season has come to an end and what a season it has been! Issington clinch their first title, although they made a meal of it, Gwinevra Barbarians narrowing the gap to just one point before failing slightly towards the end, finishing 4 points behind Issington on 43 points, even though they scored the most goals in the league by a good 11 goals. Behind them Urbanista will welcome a return to the Globe Cup after their poor performance in the previous season, helped once again by their talisman, Dravid Scott, who has announced his intention to play abroad for one more season before he retires from football. Wrexton F.C were also a surprise in finishing 4th, and they return to the Globe Cup for the first time in 5 years. Dwile Warriors who had a long series of draws throughout the season saw that hurt them as they miss out on UICA competitions for the first time, and will have to settle for the Iskander-Scott Cup instead.

Below this lot, Egloskerry and FC Brimstone make up the middle of the table, and Mandon United finish 8th, which they will be bitterly disappointed about having spent most of the season in contention for Globe Cup spots. Below them, Exton F.C manage to stay up, aided by Pierre Benzilar's goals. Wye United somehow manage to stay up, having been last with only 3 games left. Mona A.F.C and Cierbana both make the drop although they we probably the favourites for relegation at the start of the season.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 17
FC Brimstone 2–1 Mona A.F.C
Mandon United 1–2 Exton F.C
Wye United 1–1 Cierbana United
Wrexton F.C 4–2 Dwile Warriors
Egloskerry 4–5 Gwinevra Barbarians
Urbanista 3–3 Issington F.C

Exton beat Mandon to keep their survival hopes alive, as Wrexton surprisingly beat Dwile Warriors, who at this stage look out of the title race. Issington draw with Urbanista, while Gwinevra close the gap with a high scoring win over Egloskerry.

Matchday 18
Mona A.F.C 2–3 Urbanista
Issington F.C 2–4 Egloskerry
Gwinevra Barbarians 3–2 Wrexton F.C
Dwile Warriors 5–2 Wye United
Cierbana United 0–1 Mandon United
Exton F.C 2–0 FC Brimstone

Egloskerry beat Issington while Gwinevra Barbarians beat Wrexton which suddenly makes the title race look a whole lot more exciting. Exton F.C win again, them being on a good run, and Mandon stop the rot with a win over lowly Cierbana.

Matchday 19
Exton F.C 1–1 Mona A.F.C
FC Brimstone 1–2 Cierbana United
Mandon United 3–3 Dwile Warriors
Wye United 0–1 Gwinevra Barbarians
Wrexton F.C 0–1 Issington F.C
Egloskerry 0–1 Urbanista

Dwile Warriors draw yet again, as Gwinevra and Issington both win, with Issington sensing the title at this point. Cierbana win while fellow relegation candidates Wye lose and Exton and Mona draw.

Matchday 20
Mona A.F.C 3–3 Egloskerry
Urbanista 2–2 Wrexton F.C
Issington F.C 3–0 Wye United
Gwinevra Barbarians 3–0 Mandon United
Dwile Warriors 2–2 FC Brimstone
Cierbana United 1–1 Exton F.C

Issington and Gwienvra both win by the same margin for the second week in a row. Issington know that if Gwinevra slip up the title is theirs, and so they frantically score, with imported maestro Chris Maarsden scoring two. A week of shared points though, as all the other teams draw.

Matchday 21
Cierbana United 1–0 Mona A.F.C
Exton F.C 2–2 Dwile Warriors
FC Brimstone 3–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Mandon United 1–2 Issington F.C
Wye United 4–2 Urbanista
Wrexton F.C 3–5 Egloskerry

Goals galore as Egloskerry put five past Wrexton, and Wye surprisingly beat Urbanista to give them hope of survival, even though Cierbana beat Mona. A simple 2-1 win for Issington F.C and a loss for Gwinevra mean that they take the title with a week to spare, captain Gregari Stanislav scoring the winning goal for his club and leading to great celebrations.

Matchday 22
Mona A.F.C 0–2 Wrexton F.C
Egloskerry 1–4 Wye United
Urbanista 5–1 Mandon United
Issington F.C 5–2 FC Brimstone
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–1 Exton F.C
Dwile Warriors 1–1 Cierbana United

What a final day of the season, as Issington confirm the title in style, FC Brimstone, while Urbanista smash a Mandon team on worryingly poor form. Wye smash Egloskerry to achieve the impossible and avoid relegation, while Cierbana draw with giants Dwile Warriors but that isn't even enough to keep them up.

ANL League 2

The Second League was equally exciting, with Urbanista Trojans mounting a serious promotion push before FC Endeavour came back to clinch second, and then overtake Barbury Town on the last day to take the title. However, at least Barbury get promoted straight away, and this time with a refreshed squad. The other SBCC contingent are Urbanista Trojans and the high flying Lighthouse Coves. Miners '47 and Gurdle A.F.C both had relatively poor seasons, finishing 8th and 9th respectively. Frewick F.C once again take the spot of worst in the league system after slumping having been 3rd last. Old Licentians and Outer Surburbia have similarly poor seasons down the bottom, and Southtown had a poor performance, with the contrast from top division to the bottom of the second being quite stark.

Apox Rugby Ten (ART) - Season 4 Review

JK Memorial Squad become the first team to win the title twice, although, once again, Hudd Trolls drove them all the way, coming second by one point for the second season in a row. Northern Urbanista and Mandon Faithful make up the other half of the seasog's qualifiers. The biggest surprise from last season though is perhaps last seasons winners, Dwile Jerseys, coming 7th! No one saw that one coming!

Preview

There have been several key changes in the Apoxian league structure as a whole which are coming in this season. However, in the ANL, things remain gloriously the same. The prospects for both ends of the table are interesting, with serious title contenders in Issington F.C, Gwinevra Barbarians and Dwile Warriors, without counting those who may sneakily close in on the title. Issington managed to hold on and take the title last season, denying Gwinevra Barbarians, while Urbanista had a good season, finishing 3rd. Dwile Warriors will be wanting to halt their worrying slide in form, and what better way to do that than a title challenge? Their squad looks as strong as ever.

Down the bottom end we face a conundrum in that both teams coming up look strong. Barbury Town are straight back up, and have signed Namine Nagatomo back from FC Brimstone. FC Endeavour are a very much exciting prospect to be playing in the league, as they are revived from the dead. With two strong teams coming up, it creates a large pool of relegation candidates, which can only be good for competition. Mark my words, this has the prospect to one of the best way.

ANL League 2

The second tier looks incredibly close as well this season, with no clear candidates for promotion. The league has expanded by one team, with newly created Mulhampstead joining to create a league of 16 teams. Strong contenders from last season, Urbanista Trojans , Gwinevra Bulls or Lighthouse Coves could all be in with a shot of promotion, as could other strong teams such as Miners '47 and Atletico Standard. Or it could be someone else. It really is just too close to call.

Marshall Cup

That's right, it's back! The longest running cup competition from the 510's and 520's has returned, with a revamped edition. Containing 32 competitors, all teams from the ANL and ANL2 compete, along with the top 4 from the Iskandic League, over in Old Guard.

Part One

The sixth season of the Apox National League has begun, and once again it's another cracker, with a lot of contention for those UICA places. Let's see how things have gone over the first quarter of the season.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 1
Dwile Warriors 2–0 Egloskerry
Issington F.C 3–0 FC Endeavour
Barbury Town 2–2 Mandon United
Wrexton F.C 0–2 Wye United
Urbanista 2–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Exton F.C 0–1 FC Brimstone

A new season, but the same old dogs winning, as Issington top the table on goal difference on the first day with a 3-0 win over newcomers FC Endeavour. Dwile Warriors also get off to a good start as they hope to put the ghosts of late season behind them. Urbanista and Gwinevra Barbarians draw in an exciting fixture on the first day. Elsewhere, FC Brimstone begin their campaign with a solid 1-0 victory over Exton.

Matchday 2
Egloskerry 2–0 FC Brimstone
Gwinevra Barbarians 1–0 Exton F.C
Wye United 0–2 Urbanista
Mandon United 3–1 Wrexton F.C
FC Endeavour 0–0 Barbury Town
Dwile Warriors 2–1 Issington F.C

A top of the table derby clash on Sunday was the most exciting match of the weekend, with the Warriors coming out on top, after Keri Ularu and new signing Agustin Caruzzo combined to score the two goals. Gwinevra beat Exton to keep them in the mix and Urbanista get a win over on the road. Mandon show flashes of brilliance in beating Wrexton 3-1, and the new sides Barbury and FC Endeavour still search for their first wins after a 0-0 draw.

Matchday 3
Issington F.C 4–1 Egloskerry
Barbury Town 3–3 Dwile Warriors
Wrexton F.C 1–0 FC Endeavour
Urbanista 3–4 Mandon United
Exton F.C 1–1 Wye United
FC Brimstone 4–5 Gwinevra Barbarians

Goals everywhere. Issington beat Egloskerry solidly, posting 4 past them, while Dwile Warriors played worrying like they did last season, with a draw. Mandon overcome Urbanista who are looking a little shaky without Dravid Scott, while there is a 9 goal game at the FCB Stadium, as Gwinevra just edge out FC Brimstone.

Matchday 4
Egloskerry 1–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Wye United 1–2 FC Brimstone
Mandon United 1–2 Exton F.C
FC Endeavour 3–1 Urbanista
Dwile Warriors 1–0 Wrexton F.C
Issington F.C 5–2 Barbury Town

All the main contenders win, with Issington in the most style as they thrash Barbury 5-2, while the Warriors and the Barbarians are slightly more tame encounters, 1-0 and 2-1 victories being enough. Urbanista are not doing well, as they lose to FC Endeavour who are just finding their feet in the league.

Marshall Cup 1st Round
Bouldertown 0–2 Frewick F.C
Outer Surburbia 2–0 Mona A.F.C
Barbury Town 2–2 Wrexton F.C (3–2 AET)
Urbanista Trojans 1–0 FC Endeavour
Miners '47 3–4 Urbanista
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–3 Sunshine Athletic
Old Licentians 5–1 Cierbana United
FC Brimstone 1–1 Mulhampstead (1–1 AET) (5–4 pen.)
St George's Creek 1–1 Mandon United (1–2 AET)
Gurdle A.F.C 3–0 Moscva 2k12
Egloskerry 2–1 Lighthouse Coves
TP Indians 1–3 Oldem Gents Club
Gwinevra Bulls 3–3 Exton F.C (4–3 AET)
Southtown 1–1 Wye United (1–2 AET)
Barbury F.C 1–2 Dwile Warriors
Atletico Standard 0–2 Issington F.C

It's back! Back after 50 year absence and bigger than ever! Most of the big name make it through, with Wrexton F.C, FC Endeavour, Exton F.C and more controversially Gwinevra Barbarians going out, the Barbarians to lowly ranked Sunshine Athletic. Of the Old Guard teams, only Oldem Gent's Club is through to the second round, only that was guaranteed that one team would make it through as they played fellow Guardians TP Indians.

Matchday 5
Barbury Town 3–2 Egloskerry
Wrexton F.C 3–2 Issington F.C
Urbanista 1–2 Dwile Warriors
Exton F.C 4–0 FC Endeavour
FC Brimstone 4–3 Mandon United
Gwinevra Barbarians 4–3 Wye United

Urbanista's troubles deepen as they lose to Dwile Warriors, which sees them now battling for relegation. Issington lose, meaning they are now slightly further back from the top two of Dwile Warriors and Gwinevra Barbarians, while FC Brimstone continue their good season with a win over Mandon United.

Matchday 6
Egloskerry 2–3 Wye United
Mandon United 2–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
FC Endeavour 4–4 FC Brimstone
Dwile Warriors 0–2 Exton F.C
Issington F.C 2–1 Urbanista
Barbury Town 4–3 Wrexton F.C

Gwinevra go top with a draw against Mandon, as amazingly Dwile Warriors lose to Exton at home, displaying their weaknesses from last season. Issington beat a tough Urbanista side, to keep them in contention.

No Club Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts

ANL League 2

In the second tier, Urbanista Trojans are finally pushing for promotion as they battle against a tough group as this year the league is as close as ever. Lighthouse Coves currently sit in the other promotion spot, and Mulhampstead are making an instant impression are performing well with Southtown in the 4th SBCC spot, while Miners '47, Sunshine Athletic and Gwinevra Bulls all lurk nearby.

Surprisingly Frewick F.C don't occupy the bottom spot, as they sit a surprising 10th, with the bottom two spots being occupied by the recently relegated teams, Mona A.F.C and Cierbana United whose hopes of going straight back up are now looking incredibly slim.

No Club Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts

Part Two

The sixth season of the league continues, and in the Apox National League it is really a three horse race between Dwile Warriors, Gwinevra Barbarians and Issington F.C for the title at this stage. FC Brimstone and Exton F.C are both having fantastic seasons, while Urbanista is still struggling somewhat. Wrexton F.C and Egloskerry currently sit in the relegation spots although it is very close down that end of the table.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 7
Wrexton F.C 1–1 Egloskerry
Urbanista 2–1 Barbury Town
Exton F.C 3–2 Issington F.C
FC Brimstone 3–2 Dwile Warriors
Gwinevra Barbarians 3–2 FC Endeavour
Wye United 1–1 Mandon United

Wrexton and Egloskerry draw in a must win game, the point gained not really helping anyone there. Issington and the Warriors both lose to FC Brimstone and Exton F.C who are overperforming, while Gwinevra win, allowing them a bit of breathing space at the top of the table.

Matchday 8
Egloskerry 2–0 Mandon United
FC Endeavour 1–0 Wye United
Dwile Warriors 5–1 Gwinevra Barbarians
Issington F.C 1–0 FC Brimstone
Barbury Town 2–2 Exton F.C
Wrexton F.C 0–1 Urbanista

Dwile Warriors smash Gwinevra Barbarians 5-1 at home to put the title race back on, as Issington win as well. FC Endeavour and Egloskerry both win to increase both sides chances of staying up, although FC Endeavour look safer. Urbanista beat Wrexton 1-0 away in a tough fixture to put their season back on track.

Matchday 9
Urbanista 3–2 Egloskerry
Exton F.C 0–0 Wrexton F.C
FC Brimstone 4–1 Barbury Town
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–1 Issington F.C
Wye United 5–3 Dwile Warriors
Mandon United 1–1 FC Endeavour

In another enormous fixture, Gwinevra beat Issington to create more of a gap, while Dwile Warriors succumb to Wye at the JK Stadium. Mandon draw to FC Endeavour although the Mandon side looks lacking in some of the sting it had last season. FC Brimstone continue on their good run by beating Barbury 4-1 at home.

Marshall Cup Second Round
Frewick F.C 4–2 Mona A.F.C
Barbury Town 0–4 Urbanista Trojans
Urbanista 0–2 Sunshine Athletic
Old Licentians 0–3 FC Brimstone
Mandon United 4–2 Gurdle A.F.C
Egloskerry 0–0 Oldem Gents Club (1–0 AET)
Gwinevra Bulls 0–1 Wye United
Dwile Warriors 0–1 Issington F.C

Sunshine Athletic continue giant killing, after Urbanista fall after Gwinevra Barbarians did last time. Egloskerry beat Oldem Gents Club to halt the last Old Guard club still in play, but it took until extra time to do it. Frewick F.C are miraculously still in, although they have had a very easy run to the quarter-finals this year. Issington F.C and Dwile Warriors face each other in a salivating contest, but in the end Artem Asp's second half goal is enough to put them through.

Matchday 10
Egloskerry 2–4 FC Endeavour
Dwile Warriors 3–0 Mandon United
Issington F.C 1–0 Wye United
Barbury Town 2–3 Gwinevra Barbarians
Wrexton F.C 0–2 FC Brimstone
Urbanista 0–0 Exton F.C

All three teams who are in contention win maintaining the status quo, as does FC Brimstone who have become outsiders for the title, currently happily sitting in 4th. Urbanista draw, which is unhelpful for them, and FC Endeavour manage a win, as they begin to find their feet in this league.

Matchday 11
Exton F.C 0–0 Egloskerry
FC Brimstone 0–1 Urbanista
Gwinevra Barbarians 4–4 Wrexton F.C
Wye United 5–1 Barbury Town
Mandon United 3–3 Issington F.C
FC Endeavour 1–1 Dwile Warriors

Everyone struggled to win this Matchday, with only Urbanista beating FC Brimstone to try a reel in on 4th, and Wye emphatically beating Barbury to lay down the gauntlet. Gwinevra Barbarians draw in a thrilling 4-4 encounter at home against Wrexton F.C, while Issington and Dwile Warriors draw at Mandon and FC Endeavour respectively.

ANL League 2

It's very close in the second tier of the Apox League system, with Lighthouse Coves currently in the top spot, although that has been changing almost every matchday. The top and bottom of the table is separated by a mere 12 points, and as a result the order to what may be expected is different, with Outer Suburbia lying 5th, and Mona A.F.C and Cierbana United still occupying the bottom spots.

Part Three

The season prepares to enter it's final stage, and Gwinevra Barbarians have gained a strong position with 6 matches to go, standing three points ahead of Issington F.C in second. Urbanista have improved well, and now sit in 3rd place, with Exton and FC Brimstone doing well in 4th and 5th respectively. Dwile Warriors have slipped after picking up a mere 3 points in 5 matches, and currently lie 6th, although from 2nd downwards it is incredibly close. Poor old Wrexton and Egloskerry look quite badly stranded in the relegation spots at this stage and have a fight on their hands to stay up.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 12
Egloskerry 3–2 Dwile Warriors
FC Endeavour 1–2 Issington F.C
Mandon United 2–0 Barbury Town
Wye United 0–0 Wrexton F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 5–5 Urbanista
FC Brimstone 0–1 Exton F.C

Dwile Warriors lose to strugglers Egloskerry, denting their title chances. Issington win, while very excitingly Gwinevra Barbarians and Urbanista draw in a thrilling 5-5 match, with Eugeny Ivanov scoring a hat-trick for Urbanista and Rancisc Tenian and Alain Smith adding goals to their impressive tallies so far this season.

Matchday 13
FC Brimstone 2–2 Egloskerry
Exton F.C 0–1 Gwinevra Barbarians
Urbanista 1–0 Wye United
Wrexton F.C 2–5 Mandon United
Barbury Town 2–1 FC Endeavour
Issington F.C 3–2 Dwile Warriors

FC Brimstone stumble a little as they draw with Egloskerry who are mounting a serious survival tilt here, with Oliver Guthrie scoring 3 goals in the last two games. Gwinevra Barbarians win simply over Exton, while in another big game, Issington beat Dwile Warriors to move into second. Urbanista continue to improve with a 1-0 win over Wye.

Matchday 14
Egloskerry 0–2 Issington F.C
Dwile Warriors 5–2 Barbury Town
FC Endeavour 3–1 Wrexton F.C
Mandon United 2–2 Urbanista
Wye United 0–0 Exton F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–0 FC Brimstone

Issington, Dwile Warriors and Gwinevra all win to pull further away from the rest, as Urbanista, high flyer Exton and Mandon all draw. What happened to the exuberant Mandon title challenging side of last season? Who knows.

Marshall Cup Quarter-Finals
Frewick F.C 2–0 Urbanista Trojans
Sunshine Athletic 0–2 FC Brimstone
Mandon United 1–1 Egloskerry (2–1 AET)
Wye United 1–0 Issington F.C

And so 8 become 4, Wye beat Issington to knock out the last of the big teams from the Marshall Cup. Frewick F.C are still remarkably in the Marshall Cup, although they face FC Brimstone in the semi-finals, who must be the favourites by now, having knocked out Sunshine Athletic, something Urbanista and Gwinevra Barbarians failed to do.

Matchday 15
Gwinevra Barbarians 3–0 Egloskerry
FC Brimstone 1–0 Wye United
Exton F.C 3–0 Mandon United
Urbanista 2–3 FC Endeavour
Wrexton F.C 4–3 Dwile Warriors
Barbury Town 4–1 Issington F.C

Gwinevra return after two weeks off and thrash Egloskerry heartily, with Alain Smith continuing his good form. Exton F.C and FC Brimstone continue their great runs, both winning and keeping themselves well in contention. FC Endeavour beat Urbanista in a close game at Lime Ground, with goals from Tom Olfa, Marcus Redwood and Nikita Pirinen. Dwile Warriors and Issington F.C both lose allowing Gwinevra to strengthen their grip on the top of the table.

Matchday 16
Egloskerry 1–3 Barbury Town
Issington F.C 1–0 Wrexton F.C
Dwile Warriors 2–3 Urbanista
FC Endeavour 1–0 Exton F.C
Mandon United 1–1 FC Brimstone
Wye United 5–4 Gwinevra Barbarians

Barbury Town beat Egloskerry in a crucial relegation battle, helping to keep Barbury's head above water and above relegation for now. Issington F.C beat other struggler, Wrexton F.C, while Dwile Warriors continue their poor form after a loss to Urbanista who are just getting better and better. FC Endeavour narrowly beat Exton F.C in an interesting battle between two teams who have a lot of potential for the future. In another high scoring battle, Gwinevra Barbarians lose to Wye United 5-4.

ANL League 2

It's still close in the second tier, although not at the top as Urbanista Trojans have a 6 point lead over Gwinevra Bulls in second. However, Miners '47 are only in 3rd on goal difference, and with regards to the 4th spot, Sunshine Athletic, Lighthouse Coves, Mulhampstead and Barbury F.C all lie just 1 win away. Mona A.F.C still lie bottom, and 7 points adrift of Frewick F.C, Southtown and Gurdle A.F.C who are just above them.

Part Four

And that's it! Another season over! And what a close, tense battle of a season it's been! In the end Gwinevra Barbarians win on 46 points, the lowest winning points total to date, just 1 point ahead of Issington F.C, who reeled them in and were top with 2 games to go. Dwile Warriors finish 3rd, after a good season of rebuilding should put them in a good position for the next season. Urbanista complete the Globe Cup positions meaning that, for the first time, the 'Big Four' clubs all managed to perform well and finish closely. Outside of the Globe Cup spots, Barbury Town is 5th after a good run, Exton find themselves 6th, FC Endeavour adapt well to life in the top flight, finishing 7th, and FC Brimstone slump somewhat from their imperious early form, finishing 8th, much like Mandon from last season, and gaining just 4 points from their last 6 matches.

Relegated are Egloskerry who looked doomed from early on, despite courageously fighting all the way, and Mandon who have fallen apart in their 3rd season in the top, and fell into relegation late on in the season, with Wrexton F.C miraculously surviving to fight on once more. Let's go through day by day;

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 17
Wye United 4–2 Egloskerry
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–0 Mandon United
FC Brimstone 1–1 FC Endeavour
Exton F.C 2–3 Dwile Warriors
Urbanista 1–3 Issington F.C
Wrexton F.C 4–3 Barbury Town

Strugglers Wrexton beat Barbury in a high scoring encounter, with Ashrav Bilotti scoring twice, while Issington beat Urbanista in a tough game. Dwile Warriors also a struggle to overcome Exton, but Agustin Caruzzo's 86th minute goal secured the win for the Warriors. Gwinevra Barbarians beat a much tamer Mandon United side, who never looked likely to win from the start.

Matchday 18
Egloskerry 3–1 Wrexton F.C
Barbury Town 4–1 Urbanista
Issington F.C 0–0 Exton F.C
Dwile Warriors 3–4 FC Brimstone
FC Endeavour 1–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Mandon United 2–2 Wye United

Egloskerry beat Wrexton in a relegation battle fixture, leaving Wrexton perilously close to the edge. Urbanista go to Barbury and are demolished, the Village Green is always a tough place to go. Exton hold Issington to a 0-0 draw, a game which Issington really should have won, especially with the striking fire power of Gregari Stanislav, Chris Maarsden and Artem Asp up front. Gwinevra Barbarians beat a plucky FC Endeavour side that in the end, couldn't hold on.

Matchday 19
Mandon United 0–1 Egloskerry
Wye United 4–4 FC Endeavour
Gwinevra Barbarians 0–2 Dwile Warriors
FC Brimstone 1–3 Issington F.C
Exton F.C 0–1 Barbury Town
Urbanista 3–2 Wrexton F.C

Barbury make it two wins on the trot as they begin to pull away from danger, Maxim Kolo scoring the goal, and in doing so becoming the front-runner for the golden boot - a dark horse at the start of the season, while the same can't be said for Mandon who are now looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone with worry. Issington beat FC Brimstone to further their title prospects, and destroy FC Brimstone's. In a hugely important match, Dwile Warriors beat Gwinevra Barbarians, meaning the Warriors and Issington are both closing in on Gwinevra, although, in the case of the Warriors, you can't help but feel it's too late now.

Marshall Cup Semi-Finals
Frewick F.C 2–5 FC Brimstone
Mandon United 0–0 Wye United (1–1 AET) (4–2 pen.)

Frewick F.C's fantastic run is put to an end by FC Brimstone and a hat-trick from Hamrah Anzalichi, while in the Mandon-Wye game it is much closer, and only penalties separated the two teams, with Mandon jubilantly heading to the final, while heart-break for Wye and their supporters.

Matchday 20
Egloskerry 1–2 Urbanista
Wrexton F.C 1–0 Exton F.C
Barbury Town 3–0 FC Brimstone
Issington F.C 4–3 Gwinevra Barbarians
Dwile Warriors 2–1 Wye United
FC Endeavour 2–0 Mandon United

Urbanista continue their good form to move back up until the UICA spots with a simple win over Egloskerry who look pretty sunk at the moment. Issington climb above Gwinevra after Gwinevra lose a key game for a second week in a row. Dwile Warriors win again, but they'll need a miracle to win a record 3rd title now.

Matchday 21
FC Endeavour 3–3 Egloskerry
Mandon United 1–3 Dwile Warriors
Wye United 2–2 Issington F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 4–1 Barbury Town
FC Brimstone 0–1 Wrexton F.C
Exton F.C 1–1 Urbanista

Issington draw with Wye while Gwinevra beat Barbury to take them back on top. Dwile Warriors win, while Urbanista draw against Exton, which decides the top four, and those who will be taking part in the Champions Cup and the Globe Cup. Now our attention must turn to who will win, and who will go down. At the moment, Egloskerry, Mandon, Wrexton and FC Brimstone all look vulnerable. Onto the end!

Matchday 22
Egloskerry 0–2 Exton F.C
Urbanista 4–2 FC Brimstone
Wrexton F.C 2–3 Gwinevra Barbarians
Barbury Town 1–0 Wye United
Issington F.C 4–1 Mandon United
Dwile Warriors 2–1 FC Endeavour

Dwile Warriors, Gwinevra Barbarians, Issington F.C and Urbanista all win, meaning the top 4 is unchanged, and Gwinevra gain a record 3rd ANL title. All of the lower team lose a well, and therefore it is Mandon United and Egloskerry who make the drop, with Wrexton miraculously surviving to stay another season.

ANL League 2

Urbanista Trojans continued on to win the second league, and Gwinevra Bulls gain the second promotion spot, and therefore meaning there will be two more cross-city derbies next season in the first tier. Miners '47 and Lighthouse Coves, ever near the top take the second SBCC spots. Mulhampstead narrowly fall short in their first season of football and Sunshine Athletic are the highest team to have previously played in the top tier, finishing 6th. Cierbana managed to move out of the bottom two spots, finishing 12th, Frewick F.C surprisingly finished 13th and Mona A.F.C take the bottom spot, where they've been all season.

Marshall Cup Final
Attendance: 69,421
FC Brimstone 1–1 Mandon United (2–1 AET)

It was a fantastically exciting game for the 70,000 fans who made the journey, with FC Brimstone winning in extra time. The scoring started with Janus Mumford scoring a screamer in the 30th minute. Mandon's Harry Lickett levelled the score in the 49th minute after the restart. It was close, but eventually FC Brimstone won out, Hamrah Anzalichi scoring in the 14th minute of extra time.

Iskandic League Season 3

Not much changed this season in the Iskandic League, with the same teams competing. The top of the league was populated by the expected people, the only exception being Old Guard Regiment climbing to 4th. St George's Creek returned to the top of the league to claim their second title, with last winner's Moscva 2k12 being 1 place and 2 points off retaining their title. The Iskander-Scott Cup has been discontinued, so instead the top four teams play in the Marshall Cup next season for a bit of glory.

ART Season Five

The 5th season of Apoxian rugby has taken place, and to be honest, it doesn't look like much has changed. JK Memorial Squad take home a 3rd title, and the first consecutive title, after overcoming a 7 point gap behind Mandon Faithful with 4 games to go. The Seasogs qualifiers are the from the usual crew, with Northern Urbanista and Dwile Jerseys joining this time. Hudd Trolls, after a excellent start, faded, finishing 5th, while belwo that it was business as usual as Oldem Academicals and Gwinevra Saints finished mid-table and Sourthern Urbanista, Barbury Exiles and Mona Warriors all finish out the table.

Gwinevra Barbarians won a record third title last season, it a close year where the title could have realistically gone to any 1 of three top teams for the title. Of course they were Gwinevra Barbarians, Issington F.C and Dwile Warriors, with Urbanista completing the UICA line-up. This year it looks like it will be between two clubs, Dwile Warriors and Issington F.C as the old favourite and new contender vie for position.

In terms of the other clubs FC Brimstone, FC Endeavour and Barbury Town all look solidly mid-table, with the Wrexton F.C, Wye United and Exton F.c near the bottom in the scrap with the lowly rated Gwinevra Bulls and Urbanista Trojans who both make their top-flight debuts.

Here is the predicted table as of the start of the season:
1: Dwile Warriors
2: Issington F.C
3: Urbanista
4: Gwinevra Barbarians
5: FC Endeavour
6: FC Brimstone
7: Barbury Town
8: Exton F.C
9: Wrexton F.C
10: Wye United
11: Urbanista Trojans
12: Gwinevra Bulls

And here's some transfers!

Transfers In:
Septimus Johans (Farfadillis) to Gwinevra Barbarians, £1,500,000
John the Large (Old Guard) to Barbury Town, £900,000

Transfers Out:
Hans Nielsson, Mandon United to Arka Snezhnaya (Mytannion), £2,750,000
Harry Lickett, Mandon United to Corvin Wasps (Filopines), £1,650,000

Charles Ogden, Bellong Roughnecks FC (Allinlia), £500,000
Will Fich, Sporting Iturributa (Iturributa), £6,000,000

Domestic Transfers:
Matthias Sindelar, Wrexton F.C to FC Endeavour, £740,000
Athelstan Firth, FC Brimstone to Issington F.C, £600,000
Gregari Stanislav, Issington F.C to FC Endeavour, £2,400,000

ANL2

In the second tier, the relegated teams will be the favourites to come back up, with Egloskerry managing to keep quite a number of their squad together, while Mandon look a little weaker, and therefore could come under fire from Sunshine Athletic, who have strengthened, or perhaps Mulhampstead or Miners '47. But once again, its guaranteed to be tight!

Rugby Preview

The Apox Rugby Ten has changed greatly in several ways this season, with expansion, a name change and new international additions. With the Rugby Union World Cup happening, the Apox Sports Association was approaching by officials from Licentiapacisterra, who were interested in a joint league between the two nations. After some discussion, the ASA agreed, and the Super Sixteen was formed, with the ten existing clubs from Apox and Old Guard being joined by six clubs from Licentiapacisterra. Those clubs are:

Islanders
Celtic Warriors
Montfort Lions
Colesham City Blues
Farnworth Rugby Club
Carrington Devils

With the expanded and multi-national league, our placements for the Seasogs competition have also expanded, with 6 places now going to the Super Sixteen, with at least 3 going to Apoxian clubs and one Licentian club making up that number. The first season should be very interesting, will JK Memorial Squad get their third title in a row, or will a different club, be it Apoxian, Guardian or Licentian come and claim that honour? We'll have to find out.

Part One

The 7th season of the Apox National League has started, with 6 games played so far this season, as 12 teams battle it out for their first, second or fourth title depending on who they are. Issington F.C currently stand top of the table, with Gwinevra Barbarians lurking a close second behind them. Underneath the top two, Dwile Warriors and FC Endeavour, who seem to be exploring their full potential this season. In 5th place is FC Brimstone, with Wye United and Exton F.C doing well behind that, and Urbanista having their traditionally slow start to the season, as they lie 8th. In the relegation scrap, Urbanista Trojans, Gwinevra Bulls and Wrexton F.C are currently in the bottom 3 spots, although Barbury Town are only 9th on goal difference, which is surprising to see them there.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 1
Dwile Warriors 7–3 Gwinevra Bulls
Issington F.C 4–0 Urbanista Trojans
Barbury Town 3–4 FC Endeavour
Wrexton F.C 1–1 Wye United
Urbanista 3–3 Gwinevra Barbarians
Exton F.C 0–1 FC Brimstone

The game of the weekend has to be Dwile Warriors demolition of a Gwinevra Bulls side, 7-3, with Agustin Caruzzo and Keri Ularu doing the bulk of the scoring up front, and reinforcing to the Bulls how hard it will be to stay up in this league, compared with the second tier. Issington F.C also win in style, putting 4 past the other new side, Urbanista Trojans, while across town rivals Urbanista draw with the defending champions Gwinevra. FC Endeavour and FC Brimstone both start well, with a win for both.

Matchday 2
Gwinevra Bulls 2–0 FC Brimstone
Gwinevra Barbarians 3–1 Exton F.C
Wye United 1–0 Urbanista
FC Endeavour 3–1 Wrexton F.C
Urbanista Trojans 3–3 Barbury Town
Dwile Warriors 1–3 Issington F.C

Issington beat Dwile Warriors at home in the Dwile derby to go top, while Gwinevra Barbarians beat an Exton side that never looked likely to get a result. Urbanista lose to a very average Wye United side courtesy of a Niko Ferz goal. Gwinevra Bulls and Urbanista Trojans both get their first points, while FC Endeavour put three past Wrexton F.C, Tom Olfa and Gregari Stanislav doing the honours.

Matchday 3
Issington F.C 1–0 Gwinevra Bulls
Barbury Town 2–3 Dwile Warriors
Wrexton F.C 1–1 Urbanista Trojans
Urbanista 0–0 FC Endeavour
Exton F.C 0–0 Wye United
FC Brimstone 1–1 Gwinevra Barbarians

A weekend full of draws with only Issington and Dwile Warriors winning, the latter over Barbury Town who have been looking surprisingly weak this campaign. Turning to another team who have been looking surprisingly weak, Urbanista fail to score against FC Endeavour at home, but luckily so do they, and both sides grab a point.

Matchday 4
Gwinevra Bulls 2–3 Gwinevra Barbarians
Wye United 0–0 FC Brimstone
FC Endeavour 1–0 Exton F.C
Urbanista Trojans 2–3 Urbanista
Dwile Warriors 3–1 Wrexton F.C
Issington F.C 3–2 Barbury Town

A weekend full of derbies, as the teams from Gwinevra and Urbanista face off, but there were no upsets as the bigger side won away from home in both instances. The other top teams win again, as Issington F.C and Dwile Warriors both win, with the top looking increasingly set, with only FC Endeavour managing to keep the pace at the moment.

Marshall Cup 1st Round
Mandon United 2–1 Mulhampstead
St George's Creek 3–3 Celts (3–5 AET)
Barbury Town 3–2 Mona A.F.C
FC Brimstone 2–2 FC Endeavour (4–2 AET)
Dwile Warriors 2–3 Athletico Standard
Bouldertown 2–3 Southtown
Wrexton F.C 0–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Wye United 2–2 Urbanista (2–3 AET)
Frewick F.C 2–2 Issington F.C (2–2 AET) (1–3 pen.)
Lighthouse Coves 1–0 Cierbana United
Sunshine Athletic 2–4 Old Guard Regiment
Gurdle A.F.C 3–4 Gwinevra Bulls
Oldem Gents Club 0–0 Miners '47 (0–1 AET)
Barbury F.C 2–1 Old Licentians
Moscva 2k12 2–3 Egloskerry
Exton F.C 0–0 Urbanista Trojans (0–0 AET) (3–2 pen.)

The first round of the Marshall Cup is as interesting as ever, with a few upsets, notably Dwile Warriors crashing out at the hands of Atletico Standard, and surprise semi-finalists from last time, Frewick F.C losing to penalties to Issington in exciting circumstances. Old Guard Regiment win to ensure there is Old Guard representation in the next round.

Matchday 5
Barbury Town 4–0 Gwinevra Bulls
Wrexton F.C 1–1 Issington F.C
Urbanista 4–4 Dwile Warriors
Exton F.C 1–0 Urbanista Trojans
FC Brimstone 5–3 FC Endeavour
Gwinevra Barbarians 3–1 Wye United

Barbury Town finally win a game, with Maxim Kolo, high scorer from last season supplying two, whilst Urbanista and Dwile Warriors draw 4-4, in thrilling circumstances. Gwinevra Barbarians close in on Issington at the top, as they win while Issington can only draw.

Matchday 6
Gwinevra Bulls 0–0 Wye United
FC Endeavour 3–4 Gwinevra Barbarians
Urbanista Trojans 3–1 FC Brimstone
Dwile Warriors 1–2 Exton F.C
Issington F.C 8–3 Urbanista
Barbury Town 1–1 Wrexton F.C

Headlines must be on the thrilling 11 goal game taking place in the Dwile Stadium, as Urbanista can't get a rest, with Artem Asp scoring a hat-trick, and Chris Maarsden and Wim van Wildernis both getting two goals. Urbanista Trojans finally manage to win a game, with FC Brimstone falling to them, whilst Dwile Warriors are upset by Exton who travel away rom home.

ANL2

Mona A.F.C surprise everyone, including themselves as they currently sit top of the table by 4 points, having gone from bottom last season to top this, they only need 11 more points to get last seasons score. Behind them, are the new team Celts who are playing well so far, although the fearsome trio of Mandon United, Cierbana United and Sunshine Athletic all lurk close behind. Egloskerry are having trouble adjusting to the second flight, and Miners '47 and Lighthouse Coves are having a bad season by their standards.

Part Two

We are now halfway through the football season of Apox, and it's looking very interesting indeed! Issington currently have the advantage, but the real surprise is FC Endeavour currently second after they've had a great start to their season. Below them, Dwile Warriors and Gwinevra currently fill out the Globe Cup spots, although it is surprising to see Gwinevra as low as 4th. Urbanista are in 5th, and they'll be looking to muscle their way into the top 4, although they've got quite a gap to make up. FC Brimstone are having a poor season and currently lie in 10th, while Urbanista Trojans and Gwinevra Bulls both look out of their depth, the Bulls already 5 point behind safety.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 7
Wrexton F.C 1–0 Gwinevra Bulls
Urbanista 1–2 Barbury Town
Exton F.C 2–2 Issington F.C
FC Brimstone 1–4 Dwile Warriors
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–1 Urbanista Trojans
Wye United 0–1 FC Endeavour

The leaders Issington draw against Exton in a thrilling encounter, while Urbanista continue their poor run capitulating to a 2-1 loss at home to Barbury Town. Dwile Warriors smash FC Brimstone on the road, showing their squad's talent, and Gwinevra keep themselves in contention. Surprise contenders FC Endeavour win away at Wye, with Gregari Stanislav scoring the goal on that occasion.

Matchday 8
Gwinevra Bulls 0–2 FC Endeavour
Urbanista Trojans 0–0 Wye United
Dwile Warriors 0–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Issington F.C 1–1 FC Brimstone
Barbury Town 0–2 Exton F.C
Wrexton F.C 0–1 Urbanista

FC Endeavour beat Gwinevra Bulls who really look in trouble, even at this early stage of the season. In on of the big games of the season, Gwinevra come out on top with a 2-0 win away at Dwile, while Issington can only draw against an FC Brimstone team that really closed ranks and prevented many shots on goal. Exton win to keep their season ticking over, and Urbanista manage to win at Wrexton.

Matchday 9
Urbanista 5–3 Gwinevra Bulls
Exton F.C 1–1 Wrexton F.C
FC Brimstone 3–3 Barbury Town
Gwinevra Barbarians 0–1 Issington F.C
Wye United 4–6 Dwile Warriors
FC Endeavour 2–2 Urbanista Trojans

Two big scores this weekend, the biggest as Dwile Warriors win eventually at Wye, in a 10 goal thriller, in which Agustin Caruzzo and John Carpenter both get two. In the other high scoring game, Urbanista manage to beat the Bulls, with Ivanov and Benzari both being crucial. Issington beat Gwinevra in yet another crucial game, as Gwinevra appear to be stuttering.

Marshall Cup 2nd Round
Mandon United 1–1 Celts (2–2 AET) (3–4 pen.)
Barbury Town 0–0 FC Brimstone (0–0 AET) (5–4 pen.)
Dwile Warriors 1–0 Southtown
Gwinevra Barbarians 1–0 Urbanista
Issington F.C 1–0 Lighthouse Coves
Old Guard Regiment 1–1 Gwinevra Bulls (1–1 AET) (3–2 pen.)
Miners '47 1–1 Barbury F.C (1–1 AET) (4–2 pen.)
Egloskerry 1–0 Exton F.C

And the Marshall Cup is heating up, with the holders now out, but only penalties could separate FC Brimstone and Barbury Town. Urbanista are out but only to one of the few better ranked teams, although Gwinevra don't get a rest as they'll face Dwile Warriors in the quarter-finals. Old Guard Regiment are remarkably still in, going further than any Old Guard club so far.

Matchday 10
Gwinevra Bulls 2–2 Urbanista Trojans
Dwile Warriors 2–2 FC Endeavour
Issington F.C 2–1 Wye United
Barbury Town 3–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Wrexton F.C 1–0 FC Brimstone
Urbanista 1–0 Exton F.C

At the top, Dwile Warriors and FC Endeavour draw as the Warriors look to be faltering slightly. Issington continue to strengthen their lead with a 2-1 win over Wye, while Gwinevra already look to be fading, with Barbury being too much for them, Maxim Kolo getting a brace. Urbanista are recovering from their poor start, with a 1-0 at home to Exton, make you wonder how they'd do if they started well, eh?

Matchday 11
Exton F.C 0–0 Gwinevra Bulls
FC Brimstone 2–2 Urbanista
Gwinevra Barbarians 1–2 Wrexton F.C
Wye United 1–0 Barbury Town
FC Endeavour 2–1 Issington F.C
Urbanista Trojans 1–2 Dwile Warriors

Issington lose to FC Endeavour, and Dwile Warriors win, seeing both the Warriors and FC Endeavour overtake Gwinevra, who's UICA spot suddenly looks in doubt. Wye United help their survival hopes with a home win over Barbury, while Gwinevra Bulls pick up a point away at Exton.

ANL2

Mona A.F.C still are top after that surprisingly good start to the season, while Mandon United and Sunshine Athletic have closed the gap as all three teams look to return to the top tier of Apoxian football. Below those three, Barbury F.C and Gurdle A.F.C are all looking for SBCC spots, and new club Celtic are doing well in 6th. One of the favourites, Egloskerry have recovered and are now heading up the table, while Mulhampstead and Miners '47 are both having poor seasons. The familiar teams, Southtown and Frewick F.C both occupy the bottom two spots.

Season 8 information:

The final stage of league expansion before the 575 season review, is the merger of the Iskandic League and the Apox National League. This will be done in several ways, with the introduction of a new third tier to the ANL. Each league will be reconstructed to contain 14 team, meaning League 1 will expand by two places, and League 2 will decrease in size. This will be done in the following ways.

ANL - Bottom team relegated, three teams promoted from league 2.
ANL2 - Top 3 teams promoted to League 1, one team relegated. Bottom team relegated to new third tier, winner of the Iskandic LEague promoted to second tier.
ANL3 - One team relegated from League 2, seven teams from the Iskandic League, 6 new Apoxian and Old Guardian team to join league pyramid.

After the restructuring, each league will have a two teams promoted, two relegated structure. The Marshall Cup will be expanded to become a 42 team tournament, with a play-off round before it starts.

Part Three

Now three-quarters of the way through the season, and Issington are still hanging on at the top as they attempt to regain their title after Gwinevra Barbarians won it last season, who they now have a 3 point advantage over with 6 games to play. Dwile Warriors remain in 3rd, and they are not out of the title race yet although it does look improbable at this stage. FC Endeavour have had quite a poor run, and are now 4th, but still fending off Urbanista in 5th. Barbury Town and Wye United are behind, but then there is quite a gap, with it being clear that the UICA places will probably be decided in the top 5 now. Down the bottom, it's less frantic than you would expect, with Exton and Urbanista Trojans separated by goal difference, normally being concerning for both clubs. However, because of the league expansion next season, only the bottom team is relegated, and and it is pretty much certain that Gwinevra Bulls will be that team, as they lie 8 points off safety, needing 3 wins to overtake the Trojans above them, two win more than their entire season so far. They haven't picked up any points at all in their last 5 games, it's pretty safe to say that this is a season to forget for them.

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 12
Gwinevra Bulls 1–2 Dwile Warriors
Urbanista Trojans 1–2 Issington F.C
FC Endeavour 2–0 Barbury Town
Wye United 2–1 Wrexton F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 1–0 Urbanista
FC Brimstone 1–1 Exton F.C

All the top 4 teams win, which is annoying for Urbanista as it increases the gap between them and what seems to be their eternal target, 4th place. FC Endeavour enjoy the largest win of the weekend, beating Barbury Town 2-0 with goals from Gregari Stanislav and Marcus Redwood.

Matchday 13
FC Brimstone 2–1 Gwinevra Bulls
Exton F.C 0–1 Gwinevra Barbarians
Urbanista 2–1 Wye United
Wrexton F.C 3–2 FC Endeavour
Barbury Town 2–1 Urbanista Trojans
Issington F.C 3–2 Dwile Warriors

Poor old Gwinevra Bulls just look hopelessly outmatched, showing the gulf between the two divisions at the moment, losing 2-1 to a distinctly average FC Brimstone team. Urbanista return to winning way, easing past Wye United in a match with a deceptively close scoreline. FC Endeavour lose as the Gwinevra win to move them up. The Dwile derby returns, this time to the Dwile Stadium, with Issington coming out on top, leading Gwinevra to climb over Dwile Warriors as well, moving up two places courtesy of Rancisc Tenian's goal.

Matchday 14
Gwinevra Bulls 1–2 Issington F.C
Dwile Warriors 3–1 Barbury Town
Urbanista Trojans 1–0 Wrexton F.C
FC Endeavour 1–2 Urbanista
Wye United 3–1 Exton F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 1–1 FC Brimstone

Issington increase their lead with an away win at Gwinevra Bulls. Across town, Gwinevra Barbarians can only manage a draw against FC Brimstone, who seem to have quite a lack of consistency this season. Wye United put three past Exton, a rare occurance for a defensive team like them. Urbanista pull FC Endeavour closer, beating them 2-1 away, and pulling them down to 4th.

Marshall Cup Quarter-Finals
Celts 0–1 Barbury Town
Dwile Warriors 2–3 Gwinevra Barbarians
Issington F.C 1–0 Old Guard Regiment

Miners '47 5–3 Egloskerry

4 very exciting games in the Marshall Cup, with newcomers Celts run coming to an end. Issington book themselves a place in the semi-finals, in the process knocking out Old Guard Regiment, the lowest ranked team in the competition, who had a excellent run to the quarter finals. Miners '47 secure their place in the semis in a high scoring game over Egloskerry, for whom this probably isn't as important as being promoted back to the ANL is. In the big game of the draw, Dwile Warriors lose to a Gwinevra team who were very up for the fight, scoring just too much for the Warriors to cope with.

Matchday 15
Gwinevra Barbarians 3–2 Gwinevra Bulls
FC Brimstone 0–2 Wye United
Exton F.C 0–1 FC Endeavour
Urbanista 5–1 Urbanista Trojans
Wrexton F.C 2–4 Dwile Warriors
Barbury Town 1–0 Issington F.C

It's the return fixture of the derbies this weekend, but there weren't any surprises in store as the home and most established team both won comfortably. Wye United, who are on a great run, beat FC Brimstone to cement their mid-table place, while Dwile Warriors eventually score enough goals to win at Wrexton. Barbury, in all credit to them, contained a potent Issington side to win surprisingly.

Matchday 16
Gwinevra Bulls 4–7 Barbury Town
Issington F.C 1–0 Wrexton F.C
Dwile Warriors 2–2 Urbanista
Urbanista Trojans 2–1 Exton F.C
FC Endeavour 2–2 FC Brimstone
Wye United 1–2 Gwinevra Barbarians

Another high scoring match, and unsurprisingly, the Bulls are on the end of it, but in fairness to them they manage to score 4 goals in the process. Issington F.C beat Wrexton at home, while Dwile Warriors and Urbanista draw, in a result that doesn't really help either team. Gwinevra Barbarians put away slightly from the chasing crowd to help further their UICA hopes and stay in contention for another title.

ANL2

Mandon United currently have a slim advantage at the top of the table, being one point above Sunshine Athletic in 2nd. Egloskerry have recovered well from their poor start, and currently sit 3rd, although 4 points behind 2nd, with the added bonus of promotion this season which is something that they will definitely be looking for. Mona A.F.C have slipped a bit, and lie in the final SBCC spot, although that won't be enough and they'll be desperate to go back up. Barbury F.C, Celts and Mulhampstead are only a short way behind, and they'll all still be chasing a first time promotion to the top with this one of their greatest opportunities. At the other end, Southtown, Old Licentians and Frewick F.C are all battling it out to avoid relegation to the new 3rd tier, Frewick currently last and probably the team most likely to go judging by their history, but it's still close.

Part Four

Below, the games in red were broadcast on APXSports, and the games in blue were broadcast on Channel 1.

Matchday 17
Wye United 0–1 Gwinevra Bulls
Gwinevra Barbarians 0–1 FC Endeavour
FC Brimstone 0–2 Urbanista Trojans
Exton F.C 5–4 Dwile Warriors
Urbanista 2–3 Issington F.C
Wrexton F.C 4–0 Barbury Town

FC Endeavour put another dent in Gwinevra's title hopes with a 1-0 away win, as Exton F.C, in yet another surprise result for them beat Dwile Warriors in yet another high scoring encounter. Issington F.C beat Urbanista away to weaken the laters chances of UICA football this season, while Wrexton F.C smash four past Barbury in a dominant display, goals coming from Ashrav Bilotti, Oliver Donliver and Will Kary. Gwinevra Bulls do the extraordinary and beat Wye away, only their second win of the season.

Matchday 18
Gwinevra Bulls 0–1 Wrexton F.C
Barbury Town 3–3 Urbanista
Issington F.C 4–1 Exton F.C
Dwile Warriors 2–0 FC Brimstone
Urbanista Trojans 2–4 Gwinevra Barbarians
FC Endeavour 3–0 Wye United

Gwinevra Barbarians beat the Trojans away in an exciting fixture, while Issington are busy putting 4 past Exton, the most inconsistent team in the league. Going to the most consistent team, Gwinevra Bulls lose at home to Wrexton. The Warriors beat FC Brimstone to see them remain in contention.

Matchday 19
FC Endeavour 1–1 Gwinevra Bulls
Wye United 1–1 Urbanista Trojans
Gwinevra Barbarians 1–3 Dwile Warriors
FC Brimstone 4–3 Issington F.C
Exton F.C 2–0 Barbury Town
Urbanista 3–4 Wrexton F.C

Dwile Warriors win a massive game for them as they beat Gwinevra away from home to move above them into second. In fact they are the only team from the top 5 to win, Issington losing to FC Brimstone, FC Endeavour drawing with the Bulls who have 4 points from their last 3 games now, and Urbanista lose to Wrexton who close in behind them at 6th.

Marshall Cup Semi-Finals
Barbury Town 1–2 Gwinevra Barbarians
Issington F.C 3–3 Miners '47 (5–3 AET)

It's going to be a humdinger of a final as Gwinevra overcome Barbury with relative ease, whilst it take extra time for Issington to get the better of the Miners, but it does still mean that Issington can complete the double.

Matchday 20
Gwinevra Bulls 2–3 Urbanista
Wrexton F.C 2–0 Exton F.C
Barbury Town 2–2 FC Brimstone
Issington F.C 1–0 Gwinevra Barbarians
Dwile Warriors 1–0 Wye United
Urbanista Trojans 2–0 FC Endeavour

A bit of a damp squib really as the status quo is maintained in many places with draws. Urbanista Trojans have been a secretive little good runs of late, and their not even 2nd bottom any more! Issington F.C beat the Barbarians at home, possibly something they'll want to repeat in a couple of weeks time in the Marshall Cup final? Their ANL title looks pretty much sewn up at this point.

Matchday 21
Urbanista Trojans 4–2 Gwinevra Bulls
FC Endeavour 1–1 Dwile Warriors
Wye United 1–0 Issington F.C
Gwinevra Barbarians 1–1 Barbury Town
FC Brimstone 1–0 Wrexton F.C
Exton F.C 0–0 Urbanista

Another low scoring matchday, but it basically ties everything up. There are celebrations for Issington, as despite losing, they claim their second ANL title as the Warriors could only draw. Gwinevra Bulls lose to their fellow newcomers Urbanista Trojans as the are confirmed as the relegated team after a pretty miserable season for them.

Matchday 22
Gwinevra Bulls 1–1 Exton F.C
Urbanista 2–1 FC Brimstone
Wrexton F.C 0–1 Gwinevra Barbarians
Barbury Town 3–3 Wye United
Issington F.C 1–0 FC Endeavour
Dwile Warriors 3–3 Urbanista Trojans

A couple of 3-3 draws with some low scoring wins finalise everything UICAwise, as Dwile Warriors, Gwinevra Barbarians and FC Endeavour join Issington F.C in international competition, albeit the Globe Cup instead of the Champion's variant, as Urbanista are left to reflect on what might have been although I'm sure they'll bounce back next season. Urbanista Trojans finished in 9th place overal, which they can be pleased with, while the Bulls might perhaps be glad of a return to the relative safety of the second tier, after getting the lowest points tally and worst goal difference ever in the 7 seasons of the top tier.

ANL2

It was a frantic run in the end, with several teams taking the top spot of the league, but in the end Sunshine Athletic are crowned champions of the second tier with the highest ever second tier points total, and they will be joined by Mandon United and Egloskerry in being promoted to the top tier of the ANL, Mandon and Egloskerry after one season away, and Sunshine Athletic after 5 seasons of second tier football. Barbury F.C end up in 4th and are the final Apoxian representative to the SBCC. Mona A.F.C miss out on promotion by 1 point and will be absolutely gutted not to get anything having been top at the half-way point. Celts finish 6th in their debut season, while last seasons debutants, Mulhampstead, can only manage 8th place. It was close down the bottom, with Southtown pulling away towards the end, and Athletico Standard nearly going from top tier to third tier in 4 seasons. However, it is Frewick F.C who make the drop, but possibly for better as they may become more comfortable in the third level which begins next season. The promoted team who will be replacing Frewick F.C next season is the Old Guardian team, St. George's Creek.

Marshall Cup Final

Attendance: 70,473
Gwinevra Barbarians 2–2 Issington F.C (2–3 AET)

Issington F.C complete the first double in the history of Apoxian football, in an extra time thriller over Gwinevra Barbarians, as Rancisc Tenian takes the lead in the 15th minute with an excellent strike. 4 minutes later however, things are back on level terms, as Jack Moses fires one past Nicolas Tria in goal. In the second half, Chris Maarsden gives Issington the lead and it looks like it'll be an Issington win. However, Tenian clearly hadn't got the memo as he scores a fantastic goal from 30 metres out in the 90th minute. In the 17th minute of injury time, Chris Maarsden finds the net receiving a header off a corner to give Issington their first Marshall Cup, and a first double.
