Live from the Sport Studios of SNT 1 in Haderslev, this is Karl Magnus with Football International.

Tonight, news about our national team. How are they doing and how is the preparation going for Sundsborg first international tournament?

Because the Warkus International Football Cup is about to start, the Sundsborg national team will be travelling to the Warku city of Nyaky, which will be the basecamp of the team during the WIFC.The team of manager Allen Nielsen leaves at 15.00 from Haderslev Intl. Airport and hopes to arrive a few hours later. They will stay there atleast untill the start of the groupstage on friday. On thursday Nielsen and his team will enter the traininggrounds for the first time and they will train twice, the second one will not be open to public. At the end of the day the manager will hold a pressconference together with the teamcaptain. The line-up for the match on friday will most likely be kept secret but the line-up of the last trainingmatch in Sundsborg will probably be similiar to the one for friday. This means that Per Poulsen is probably fit enough to start in the goal. Brian Kraeger and Michael Andreves will respectively take the left and right flanks of the defence whilst Preben Køhlenberg and Hanson Stransrup take the central positions. Nicolai Sand shall be responisble for the left midfield whilst Frank Skov takes the right. As Allen Nielsen wants to play fast-paced agressive football he will most likely leave out defensive midfielder Peter Cerssen and put Niki Fronkjaer and Hans-Jurgen Beckler in as central-attacking midfielders since they play the ball foreward were Cerssen plays it back to the defenders. The striker positions will as always most likely be filled by Christopher Jensen and topscorer Martin Dahl-Kaerup. Although Jensen picked up a small ankle injury in the friendly match against the V.K. Confederacy, he seems to be fit enough to play so he will probably be starting next to Dahl-Kaerup.

Assistent Manager Frederik Allbaek about the tournament and Sundsborg opponents: ''This tournament is a big test for the Royal Sundsborg Football Association and it's trainingstaff. It will show us on what level we are and how we compare to other countries. We've looked at lots and lots of videomaterial of our opponents and discoverd that we will be playing against three total different teams which means we had to develop several tactics, now we just got to see if they work.'' Second Assitent Kenneth Marûm completes: ''Especially the matches against Free South Califas will be challenging. It's country with a great sportshistory and will probably be tough to beat. But we see chances, also against Free South Califas. We hope to reach atleast the semi-finals, it would be great to play it against the V.K. Confederacy since our two countries played against each other in Sundsborg's first ever international match.''

A lot of interesting things are about to happen in Warkus as the openingceremony of the WIFC is nearing. How wil the Sunish perform, will they be able to claim a position in the international world of football? You can follow it all on SNT 1. This was Karl Magnusen for Football International on SNT 1.

A dispatch of the Twelfth Federal Assembly of the Federated Communities and Economies of Free South Califas.

Image
From beautiful San Luis Obispo, the International Sporting Affairs Committee of the Twelfth Federal Assembly hereby recognizes the following Califan footballers for their excellence and their hard work, and elects to send them to the WIFC III to represent our people.

STYLE +1.4

Choose my goalscorers YES
RP injuries to my players YES within reason
Godmod anything NO but I will gleefully abide 0-1 major (game-affecting) earthquakes per cycle (not even that unrealistic, earthquakes are frequent but usually aren't serious enough to be noticed...usually)
Issue yellow/red cards to my players YES as much as you want
Pick my manager FWUH?!? - Rotating player-manager seat, players stand for elections with a 1-game term infinitely renewable. You can have my player-manager from the last game manage this game too, or you can choose from my roster - I left out their ages and experience, so you have a lot of freedom to write your own story here. Any of the domestic league players invited as members of the coaching staff can stand for manager too, appointing a replacement if necessary.

In the resplendent colors of the organizations of active South Califas citizens which donated and sponsored our national kits, proudly made by self-directed workers in free union shops for World Cup 60:
Workers Solidarity Movement ImageImage; Aspies for Freedom ImageImage June 11 Solidarity Committee ImageImage

Starters in bold
Formation: El Metodo Califas "The Califas Method" (rotating, improvisational 4-2-4)
In El Metodo, there are no midfielders as such, at least when the opening whistle blows. Two halfbacks line up well behind the four forwards, starting in a a "4-2-0-4". From this position, they pack the defensive half and lob deep bombs to Califan forwards, who are always trying to overwhelm the penalty box and lay siege to the enemy goal. Both halfbacks are expected to drop into fullback position, or push up to midfield or forward level, when necessary. However, Godvin Nes has more of an attacking mentality while Haidou Zhongyuan often drops into defense, also kicking set pieces and some corners. The left and right strikers, Robertsen and Guttman, are expected to drop back into a 4-2-1-3 or 4-2-2-2 to trap counterattacks, fortify the midfield and keep opponents on their toes. Speedy substitute WF Cao Dong also drifts back into the midfield and even halfback positions, as well as aggressively contesting corners and set pieces.

Thus, El Metodo shifts rapidly between: 4-2-4, 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 5-2-3, 5-3-2, 6-2-2

TACTICS
Switcheroo
The most used tactic, involves Switching the offense from CF and SS to LW and RW, normally based on the opponents' defense and also the positioning used by the Marills. If they are playing in a wide manner, they switch to LW and RW. If they are playing in a narrow manner, CF and SS. Simple and easy.
Girl Power
When playing together, the female players, Andressa de Souza, Melina Santos, Lille Madouette, Alanna Costa and Larissa Pereira have quite of an easy time playing against a tougher defense. So the coach sometimes resort to them to do the work when the boys can't do such.
Side-sweepers
Redwing and Moura sometimes move to the midfield area when the team is on the offense, so that they can assure to mantain possesion of the ball and also possesion of the offense.

RP PERMISSIONS
Don't kill' em. Also, no red cards. Seriously, even though they are young, they aren't that wild.

Warkus National Football Team

Manager: Victor Vos
Captain: Ceri Owens
Formation: 4-3-3
Style Modifier: +4

Starting XI

Goalkeeper: #1 Llyr Powell

Considered by many to have incredible potential, Llyr Powell is going to have to put in an performance to live up to all the hype. Many managers consider Powell becoming one of the best goalkeepers in his generation. At only 19 years old, Powell has his chance to show off internationally.

Full Back: #6 Hywel Edwards

At the age of 33, Hywel Edwards will have to consider hanging up his boots after the cup. Pundits even suggest that Hywel may be dropped mid-competition if he does not perform. Hopefully Edwards can leave his international career with glory.

Centre Back: #18 Emrys Griffith

Emrys is going to have his work cut out for him if he wants to remain on the starting xi. After many poor international appearances, many speculate that he will be dropped for youngster Wynne Priddy. Despite his poor performance, Victor Vos has specifically stated that he has no intention of dropping Emrys.

Centre Back: #3 Megan Tomos

Megan Tomos has impressed many managers with her speed and tackling ability. Having an amazing season with Reuchin Royal, Warku fans hope she can bring her club success with her.

Full Back: #00 Iwan Rhys-Evans

Iwan will make his international debut at the WIFC at the age of 16. Iwan has become a viral sensation of sorts by Warkus fans on the internet, known for being large and strong, he has gained the nickname "Mae'r tanc anhygoel" (The incedible tank).

Left Midfielder: #9 Ceri Owens

23-year-old Ceri Owens stars as the captain of the Warkus squad. Owens has been praised for his magnificent ball control and his excellent leadership skills. Can Owens lead Warkus to glory?

Centre Midfielder: #11 Gwenda Evans

At the age of 36, Gwenda is definitely retiring from her international career after this edition of the WIFC. Fans has expressed concern for her age and declining football ability. Gwenda will really need to hang on to her skills
to come out of the WIFC with a trophy.

Right Midfielder: #22 Peredur Selwyn

Selwyn has never lived up to expectations internationally. The only thing keeping Selwyn in the starting XI is his amazing club success, but that won't cut it anymore. Manager Victor Vos has released a statement saying that he will be judging players based on their ability to perform on an international scale and will completely ignore club success from now on.

Left Winger: #10 Morgan Rees

Rees is definitely Warkus's underdog. Despite not recieving any attention, he has amazing crossing skills and pace. Rees is set to surprise opponents in the upcoming matches.

Centre Forward: #7 Trystan Llwyd

Llwyd has a lot to live up to holding the former number of current manager Victor Vos. Trystan has shown incredible finesse and finishing ability with his club, Nyaky FC. Will Llwyd be able to live up to expectiations?

Right Winger: #99 Cynfael Trevor

Trevor is another player making his international debut. A 17-year-old with amazing speed, Trevor is expected to use his speed to outrun his opponents.

Substitutes
GK - Meic Cadwallader
CB - Wynne Priddy
CM - Elwyn Dafis
RM - Cei Jones
LW - Wyn Kendrick

(OOC: Apologies for the error in my previous post. I went back and check the results and adjusted the table accordingly.)

Warkus Footy Times
Warkus dominate Zenega

Locals will definitely be happy with Warkus's first result in this year's WIFC. Warkus began the cup with a comfortable 6-1 win against Zenega. Trystan Llwyd scored the first goal of the game in the 4th minute, smashing the ball into the net from 23 yards out. Llwyd scored once again in the 32nd minute with a cheeky chip over the goalkeeper's head. Zenega attempted to make a comeback in the 39th minute as they scored from a freekick, but Morgan Rees crushed their hopes by scoring with a header. Warkus continued to dominate in the second half, with Peredur Selwyn finally gaining his first international goal with a controversial penalty. Llwyd continued on to score two more goals and earn the match ball.

Fans will definitely be hoping that Warkus can win this time around, after 2 years of making the finals and losing, not to mention the fact that Warkus has never won a professional football competition. The big question on everyone's minds will be if Warkus can finally gain consistency in football.

We'll see you right back here, after the next match.

OOC question: Are you using KPB rankings or is it just RP bonus separating the teams? RP is below, and I swear, unrelated

The Harvest Mice fell 2-1 to Sundsborg today, disappointing South Califans who have had high hopes for this theoretically promising tournament. The Sundsborgians failed to so much as submit a roster, but they were more precise on the pitch, where Ceh notched a late goal to save face for the Federation.

Live from the Sport Studios of SNT 1 in Haderslev, this is Karl Magnusen with Football International.

Tonight, Sundsborg wins his first groupstage match against Free South Califas.

The WIFC III couldn't have started better for the Sundish National team. The team of manager Allen Nielsen notched up a 2 - 1 victory in the first groupstage match gaining their first three points. The soldout stadium of Reuchin saw Christopher Jensen score twice against the FSC equalising the battle for national topscorer once more.

The game started off pretty dull with both teams leaving the initiative to the opponent. But when a nice chance opened up in the 29th minute the score was opened. It was Christopher Jensen who put the Sundish ahead after he had recieved a nice pass by Dahl-Kaerup. The FSC player then became a lot more active and started playing forward, pushing back the Sundish defenders. Chances then arrived at both ends in a pulsating first half, but it was Guttman who had the biggest chance. After a nice one-two with Filippa he had outplayed the Sundish central defenders an headed straight towards the goal only facing goalie Poulsen. Guttman fired from close range, Poulsen was beaten but the ball went just inches wide. Shortly after this chance the referee blew his whistle for half time.

After a harsh talk, the Sundish team started out more aggressively and put a lot of pressure on the FSC defenders with a three shots on goal. In the 65th minute Sundsborg was awarded a free-kick and specialist Skov was the one to take it. Since the distance was around 24 meters, this was a huge chance. He fired it right onto the top left corner of the goal but goalkeeper Strelc boxed the ball away with his hands. On the rebound, Jensen picked up the ball in the penaltybox and fired onto the lower right corner, Strelc was chanceless. The game then died out when both teams started playing the ball around a bit, this led to unresponsible behaviour. In 87th minute, Zhongyuan picked up the ball on the right half of the Sundish midfield and played around two Sundish defenders. He then passed the ball Ceh who, after a one-two with Guttman, stood in front of goalkeeper Poulsen. He fired at the lower right corner and Poulsen, who had chosen the wrong corner, was beaten. The last five minutes were very exciting as FSC tried to gain atleast a point but after two minutes of extra time it were the Sundish that walked away with three points.

Midfielder Sand about the match: ''Well I think we've earned the three points considering we pretty much lead the whole match. Some things obviously could have been better, I think we ought to train more at combatting one-two situations. On the whole it was a pretty decent match and I think we can really be proud of the accomplishment we set today.''

Allen Nielsen, a quick reaction please : ''Well we won, that's the one thing that counts. On the other hand, FSC had some very decent chances on more goals so it could have easily been the other way around. We will have to react on this matter and change our tactics for the upcoming matches. The defence is outplayed to easily when it comes to counterattacks. But for now we will enjoy this victory, celebrate our first three points and we look forward to playing our next match.''

It seems that our time is op already, tomorrow there is a special edition of Football International with outlooks on the coming matches and extensive player interviews. This was Karl Magnusen for SNT 1's Football International, Goodnight.

Knocked Down to 3rd

The Vamprican-Krumbian team has been knocked down to third in the group, after a 3-1 loss against Zenega and a 0-0 draw with Warkus, the hosts. The Confederacy's team really needs to get into shape for their next match, if they want to qualify. Stan Davison, the manager has this to say "We've been playing well, but we really need to get some extra training in if we want to get back into this tournament."
Shared puppet of Vampricus and Krumbia.

Warkus Tournament Squad

Postby Zenega » Sun Jul 01, 2012 1:34 pm

Apologies all for the delay in posting...

Zenega
National Squad

The Zenega National Team is a mix of players playing in the Zenegalese national league, of which Zaire-74 and Galoya-Galere are the dominant forces and best represented in this team, and players plying their trade abroad. The squad is very much in transition with several of the World Cuppet winning squad retiring from international football or the game altogether, most notably keeper and captain Dámaso Abu who has taken up the manager's post at his old team Galyoa-Galere. Lamine Diouf steps up as number one, although he has no experience except as a bench-warmer at the last two World Cuppets. Several young starlets are included for the valuable experience they will get of international football, including the strike pairing of Bonnaya and Onouha Zulu, now at Arçon in Saugeais where they are undoubtedly receiving a valuable education. Onyemere Chinwema has been awarded captaincy in Abu's stead, following his impressive showing at the Cuppet.

Zenega, officially the Wightling Commonwealth of Zenega (République du Zénéga), is a country south of the Zénéga River in Gwaith. It owes its name to the river that borders it to the east and north. Zenega is externally bounded by the Wight Ocean to the west, Barbary Salé to the north, Kurufa to the east, and Gao to the south. It covers a land area of almost 197,000 square kilometres, and has an estimated population of about 14 million. The climate is tropical with two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season.

Ouakam, the capital city of Zenega, is located at the westernmost tip of the country on the Cap-Cayor peninsula. About 2500 kilometres to the west, on the far side of the Wight Ocean, lies long-time ally Tamarindia. During the 17th and 18th centuries, numerous trading posts, belonging to various colonial empires, were established along the coast. The town of St. Louis became the capital of French West Altafrique (Altafrique Occidentale Française, or AOF) before it was moved to Ouakam in 1902. Ouakam later became its capital in 1960 at the time of independence from France.

Today Zenega is part of the Wightling Commonwealth, after previously being a member of the internationalist syndicate alliance chaired by Doctor James Sunshine of Tamarindia. When Tamarindia fell under the dominion of Wight, Zenega by default became part of the new commonwealth. The Zenegalese dislike the use of the term 'puppet', since each nation in the Commonwealth is notionally autonomous. The incumbent head of state in Zenega is Prime Minister Nnamdi Oluchi, who succeeded Comrade-General Theroux Chukwumoge when Wight imposed the commonwealth on the nation.

Expect the Balafons to play an optimistic attacking formation, to exploit mercilessly the oft-held stereotype of naïve altafriquan enthusiasm – this will be most evident in giving away a large number of cynical fouls and hoping not to get booked, pleading naïve altafriquan enthusiastic innocence. Commentators will be guilty of exclaiming “they do love their football in Zenega, but,” - and there is always a 'but' after the patronising opening, and then a chuckle, and then - “they're not so keen on defending, are they Ron?” But the Balafons will defend quite happily, and kick teams all over the park when not in possession, with a smile on their face. Attacking when in possession, strong in the tackle, likely to accumulate yellows and reds, happy – they really do like their football, Ron – but no mugs. Also not very good, never likely to compete in a world cup.”

The squad
Starters in bold

Lamin Diouf, GK, age 25, plays for Kaba Garage. Graduate of the Tamarindia National Academy. In the World Cuppet 2 winning squad.
Gabriel Ackon, GK, 28, Galoya-Galere. A first call-up for the talented shot-stopper.
Oscar Igwebuike, GK, 19, Cité Castor. Graduate of Langemark-Poelkapelle Academy, a rising star.

Awate Gabriel, DL, 24, Kino (in ABK). 9 caps and a World Cuppet 2 winner.
Julian Yahaya, DL, 30, Kurufana. A belated first call-up for the fullback.
Danys Tewani, DR, 23, Kaba Garage. 4 caps and a World Cuppet 2 winner. Graduate of the Tamarindia NA, previously played for Sparta Misión (TAM).
Víctor Ojeda, DR, 23, Sogobe Embankment. Another graduate of the Tamarindia NA, this is his first call-up to the national team.
Onyemere Chinwema, D RLC, 30, Dover City (in TBI). The defensive stalwart recently earned a transfer to the big time, as well as the captain's armband. 13 caps.
Mustapha Touré, DC, 25, Chase Citiz (in CvC). The future captain, and World Cuppet winner. 13 caps, 1 goal.
Osinachi, DC, 22, Kurufana. Already has 2 caps and a World Cuppet winners medal. Considered Chinwema's natural successor.

Amadi Nwebube, ML, 30, UMFK (in TBI). Playing at the top level after winning World Cuppet. 13 caps, 1 goal.
Ojiofor Yobachi, M LC, 20, ZFF Yelumba. Has 2 caps from the World Cuppet and apprenticed to Nwebube as the next National team left winger.
Eric Mumuni AM RLC, 28, Galoya-Galere. Has broken into the first team with the retirement of Beltane Tougas, and expected to start on the right.
Felix Mohammed, AMR, 26, Ouakam Fortress. Another debutant for the right midfield, something of a surprise call up.
Jean Beauchemin, AMC, 27, Kino (in ABK). 9 caps and one goal, Beauchemin impressed in the World Cuppet and gets the vice-captaincy as reward.
Okeke Yobanna, AMC FC, 27. 6 caps & 2 goals, missed the last Cuppet, has had his fair share of personal issues, now rebuilding his once-promising career.
Chieloka Chioke, MC, 24, La Pinatra Crusaders (in Falconfar). 4 caps. A player with a big future, surprised many by moving to Falconfar.
Mobi Chiabutu, AMC, 21, Galoya-Galere. Already a star, the naturalised Starblaydi came through the Tamarindian NA and Académie Altafrique.
Orpintón, AM RLC, 22, Kaba Garage. Yet another product of the Tamarindian NA, and well established in the Zénégalese league.

Babacar Sylla, ST, 25, Kaba Garage. 13 caps/9 goals - current top scorer for the fledgling national team. World Cuppet winner, LP graduate, played for Estudiantes (TAM).
Jesse Abosi, ST, 24, 1883 Dákura Fútsal (in Kukalaya). 9 caps/6 goals. Perfect partner to Sylla, graduated with him at LP, went on to Seleccione Orozco (TAM).
Bonnaya, ST, 21, Arçon (in Saugeais). A new call-up, the very highly rated Académie Altafrique graduate has a very good club partnership with Zulu.
Onuoha Zulu, ST, 21, Arçon (in Saugeais). Also new to the first team. With Bonnaya, a very promising forward for Zénégal's future.

Note that home-based players are always keen to move abroad where the income is greater, the money is better, and the salaries are higher. Offers via TG.

Free South Califas 2-0 Northern Sunrise Islands

The Harvest Mice turned their ship around at Warkus with an impressive clean sheet victory over the Marills. Nothing went wrong for the Mice, as strikers Chiedebiele Guttman and Flavio Filippa scored in each respective half. Guttman turned an impressive through-ball from Zhongyuan into a rising one-timer tucked just under the crossbar in the far corner in the 41st minute to give the Califans momentum going into the break. Filippa slammed in a header off the Zhongyuan corner kick to settle the affair in the 82nd minute, after the Marills showed more promise in their attack. The Filippa goal took the wind out of their sails, however, and the Mice came out of it tied for mid-group with Boyznichov, who they will face next.

Free South Califas 1-3 Boyznichov

The Mice are back on the bubble, sitting third in Group B after dropping a shameful affair to Boyznichov, whose roller hockey team is currently leading their group in the South Califas Internationale. The two nations are no longer tied in their Warkus Cup group: the Mice are 1-2 while Boyznichov are 2-1. Thousand Oaks halfback Haidou Zhongyuan struck from the penalty spot for the only Mice goal.

It wasn't a great day for Gerlinda Strelc, but the Harvest Mice rolled into the catbird seat anyway after demolishing the Sundsborgians 6-3. A resplendent day for the Mice offense saw the rise of Jorja Hickey's managerial stock as FSC pounded the Sundsborg goal again and again. The game was the highest-scoring of the Warkus Cup III so far, and the Mice were tied for the greatest attacking performance of the tournament themselves (with Warkus' 6-1 victory on MD1).

Before the game, Ceh, Filippa, Guttman and Zhongyuan were tied with 1 goal apiece, while Zhongyuan led with 2 assists to Guttman's 1. Chidiebele Guttman, the Encinitas striker, really broke out today with another 2 scores to lead the team. Z. Haidou got into the act as well, scoring his second. Bela Ceh also notched his second while San Luis Obispo left striker Marten Robertsen scored his first. Zhongyuan, Anzalichi, Nes and Robertsen picked up assists on the day.
