Guys, guys. Lets focus on the departure on one of the greatest NSers here not fighting on who puts enough effort on RPs and who shouldn't be bitching about not winning WCs.

There are times for fighting and this isn't the right time.

No. You insist on making yourself the centre of attention in any conversation, and it is simply not interesting how little you've accomplished in so many years. If you'd like to reply, please do so over TG because I don't want to further derail this thread.

Didn't think I tried to be center of attention; but when someone who's been here less than half the time I've been here tries to tell me what to do in terms of how to RP effectively... it is a guarantee to get me on a rant. Sorry folks... the troll will go back under the bridge.

Wight wrote:Thanks all for kind messages. It reminds me how good it is here.

Just to be clear, this is nobody's fault and I'm leaving after a long RP leading up to this moment - admittedly I had a wobble and signed up to more tournaments after the WC, and admittedly the ejection from AO made me rethink that rethink. But this is a positive step not a negative one; as I said to Falc in TG, I wanted to go out writing, not fade away. Which probably would've happened if I'd stayed on beyond having the will to do so.

I actually ran out of steam during WC 65, posted as much in the WCDT, and somehow went on to win it (sorry again, PI!). I think had I not won I would've finished there, but I felt I had to come back and defend the crown, plus I had a good idea for an exit-RP. Which I ran with in WC 66 and enjoyed very much, but underneath that story I had nothing left. As soon as I sat down to start my DBC RP, I knew I'd peaked. I really wasn't sure what I was going to do next. Z-Day came, there was some edgy banter on the RMB, although I think this was strictly IC - at least from me - and then I was out on my ear! It was an unpleasant surprise but I was clear to all involved via TGs that it wasn't a problem. It did make me realise it was time to go.

So no blame to anyone. Peace, and all that.

Apologies for not getting to this earlier; I've been in Hampshire the last couple of days.

I can't believe we're seeing you go Wight. In the early days, when I was just your normal standard n00b, mostly not RPing, and RPing badly when I did, your RPing inspired me, and I plucked up the courage to ask you to run a story with me during my third Cup. You agreed, and I think that's the point where I turned the corner with my writing. You wrote a brilliant story, I tagged along and wrote to the best of my ability for the first time in a long time, and I qualified for my first World Cup during that cycle. I'd certainly say that you helped to get me writing for this game, and I'd go as far as to say that you're the reason I'm still here today. Some of my best writings have come about from writing with you, or based off that first story. You're a great guy, and certainly one of the best writers I've ever had the pleasure of talking. I'll keep Alex and Nathan going for you.

I wish you all the best in the future.

Some people stroll casually into this game and take their seat at the table without even needing an invite. Wight belongs to that group. From day 1, not even those of us who had been around for a long time wanted to see his name drawn into our group. We all knew what he would become on here. For me personally, Wight has become as close an in-game friend as I have ever had on here. And The Mitrin Vega shall miss Bua as well. Good luck to you.

Wight, you leaving here leaves a hole in my RPing heart. Reading your material has always left me inspired, yet I've never been able to capture what I've wanted to say in full. I've always been captivated by reading more than writing, and I had a blast reading your stories, whether I was hosting an event your were in or not. I'm sure you have a new sense of inflated ego (seeing as I helped inflate it, too lol), and maybe some time away from writing would be in your best interest, but please don't forget about us and drop by from time to time. Who knows, maybe one day you'll come back to your old self. Take care in your adventures.

For those of you participating in the Di Bradini Cup...

Hey all, just wanted to apologize for the delay in getting the DBC scores up last night/earlier today. It was late (after midnight local time) and I was a bit tired, and thus I apparently accidentally hit "Preview" instead of "Submit". Oops. This morning, when I noticed the mistake, I quickly rushed to post the results and second round pairings. If any of you were inconvenienced by this, or wondering what the hell was going on, I'm sorry for that. Given that this is the first time this has ever happened to me in almost two years of being on NS Sports, I can confidently say that it won't happen again.

That being said, to avoid anyone being put at a disadvantage by my error, I'm pushing the tournament schedule back a day to allow more time for y'all to post RPs. I've been enjoying the RPs that have been posted thus far in the tournament, and regret that only so many teams are lucky enough to advance. My commiserations to all of you who RPed and didn't advance; maybe next time Margaret will look upon you with favor (or look upon your opponents with a menacing glare, either works in your favor really). Also, a reminder to all of you who are still competing that the (approximate) cutoff time is changing to adjust for the end of Daylight Savings Time. This was noted in the original schedule, but is being repeated here so as to not cause confusion, panic, and/or mass hysteria.

And thanks for not throwing together an angry mob with pitchforks and torches, or even so much as sending an angry TG my way.
