I also go real time, with this nation (Free Republics goes a year between cycles). My players compete for the national team and play for their clubs between cycles.

I've been trying to work that out. So far what I have set is that the players are selected for the national team and receive a salary for playing. The clubs are also compensated for their time away.

Actually, it wasn't actually both hosts that time around, though bias possibility did ask for a third party (not saying anything bad about ASMV, as this would've applied to anyone). The only time this happened that I know of is World Cup 9, in which Ravenspire scorinated his/her lost against Europa Britannia.
