The World Cup Signup Thread will be opening imminently because We Have a Bid!

I'm also going to take this opportunity to announce my intention to run the Confederations Cup between the BoF and the draw, regardless of which bid is chosen. This will be an invitational friendly tournament, with no RPing. Invites will go out to the World Cup hosts, the 3 major regional champions and the champions of the 3 WCC tournaments, including the upcoming BoF. As necessary, suitable replacements may receive invitations. Should this result in some RPing in the World Cup RP thread, I would be willing to make it a recurring event, held before every World Cup.

I know it's not strictly WCC related but I did find it amusing that it was a controversial decision for the Welsh Cowboy team to only select players under 21 for their team participating in an under 21 tournament.

Signup thread is now open.

A reminder, as it seemed to work okay...
Signups start when the first host bid for the BoF/WC is posted. Thereafter, the signup thread will stay open for two weeks. This two week period shall also be the deadline for other host bids (with the requirement of course that at least one bid is received for each tournament).

After that; the thread is paused at whatever number of signups has been reached, the hosts we are voting on can clarify what they intend to do with regards to reopening signups/reaching a set number, and we vote. That lasts three or four days once voting is open, and then we can crack on with the elected hosts re-opening signups and closing them when suitable as according to their pre-vote clarifications.

I can think of 3 plausible possibilities:

1) Wight is leaving NS.

2) Wight is pulling a Halloween trick on everybody.

3) Wight's brother got ahold of his account.

It seems like option 1 is the more likely of the three, because he deleted a huge chunk of the posts from the University thread thing where he posts the scores and stuff of his club teams and he changed his flag to all black. Two is unlikely because of what was mentioned before and three is also possible.

I hope he comes back online and explains what's going on because I am kinda worried for him, I would hate to see him go.

I wasn't sure if this is the correct location to ask this so my apologizes in advance if it is not. I've looked through dozens of threads/posts and both the WC/BoF wiki and FAQs, but couldn't come up with an answer...

How do you know if you've been accepted into the competition? or does everyone that signs up get in?
How do you know when competition begins? I've seen some of the older threads showing brackets and whatnot but is there a specific way each nation is notified?

I'm assuming once an official thread is open for the specific competition, be it WC or BoF, you are to post roasters and RP data post haste. Is there a deadline to this?

Everybody that signs up gets in (provided they don't CTE or sign up more than 1 nation for 1st timers or 2 for everybody else), although the host can cut the last few signups or the last few puppets.

The best way to know when competition begins is to keep checking back on NS Sports. The decision on whether to send out reminder TGs is up to the event host. It'll be at least 2 more weeks at the moment, more if we don't get a BoF bid, before the BoF thread could go up. In the event thread, the hosts will announce the schedule and conduct the draw. For the BoF, your roster and RPs go in the thread. If you want your team to be competitive, you'll want to post your roster before the first matchday and RP for each matchday. For the World Cup, there is a separate roster thread (and a separate results thread).
