I find this to be ... Orthodox.

<raises single eyebrow>

However, if you do ever decide to do The Search for Arch, perhaps an Orthodox colleague of Arch's (NMS is the only other overtly IC Orthodox nation actively participating in the WC) can point out why it wasn't wholly in keeping with expected liturgical standards for the burial of a monk-priest. ;)

Just a heads-up, I'll open DBC Sign-ups this evening and I'm looking for a host for that. Usual applications please.

I'll also open the next Quidditch World Cup sign-ups at the same time, and will of course be on the look out for a host (maybe see if we can get a 'real'* sports RPer to host it rather than someone who will join but who's never heard of a scorinator before? Looks like I'm organising this now, also? ;)

* Quote marks entirely inappropriate, but in order for the Sports forum to retain any sense of decent competition, I'd like it to be run by someone who knows how Sports RP works so the tournament doesn't die in disgrace or something *cough* Cherry Cup *cough* So yes, 'real' Sports RPer.

Yes, I'm alive. And SRS/World Cup Nation Hall of Fame updates will come out as usual shortly after the final. It does look like 65 has been a good go. Sorry about my heretofore unacknowledged (sole) entry Mythic Erin; I had plans for them that just ran smack dab into RL. But after a deserved terrible debut they've nowhere to go but up.

Welcome back mate, good to see that you're back on the map :)

On the topic of World Cup Halls of Fame, how do I put a player into the Hall of Fame ?? Do I have to send a note to someone, or is there a thread somewhere I need to post something to; I'm not entirely sure.

And yes, this is still Licen. Just decided I'd make the name change official and start with a new nation, since I'd changed the name in RP anyways.

As detailed below, just a reminder that the signup thread for WC66 will only be opened by yours truly (or another former president if they're about at the time) when we get a host bid.

Polar Islandstates wrote:As a potential underlining of what we've discussed, this is what I'm proposing I do next cycle:

I only start signups when the first host bid for the BoF/WC is posted, after prompting from myself in the WCDT if it looks like being necessary and with the restriction that it isn't too early in the process. Any time after the Group Stage of the WC finals seems reasonable enough to me? Thereafter, the signup thread will stay open for two weeks. This two week period shall also be the deadline for other host bids (with the requirement of course that at least one bid is received for each tournament).

After that, the thread is held at whatever number has been reached, the hosts we are voting on can clarify what they intend to do with regards to reopening signups/reaching a set number, and we vote. That lasts three or four days once voting is open, and then we can crack on.

The poster of this message is probably Ko-oren or Banija as NSWC Signups is owned and operated by the World Cup Committee, bringing you the finest quality in sign-up threads for NationStates' premier football tournament since 2005.

I can say, "Well, at least I lost to the third-placed team..."
