Adun Network First Report

In the coming days, Adun will send it’s national football team to an international competition for the first time. The Football Association of Adun has posted the final roster to represent the great nation of Adun. After weeks of try-outs of the premier football players of Adun, the roster has been finalized.
The roster includes the offensive players of arguably the best offensive team in all of Adun, the Flaming Tigers. The roster also has the best players in the two most defensive teams of Adun, Rabbit Swarm and Buffalo Herd. Players from the three dragons of Adun (Flaming Tigers, Rabbit Swarm, and Buffalo Herd) are joined by a member of the Shadow Lions.
It wasn’t a total shocker that all but one of the starting roster came from the only teams who have won a Premier League of Adun Championship. These three rivals will work together to attempt to have a successful run at the Republic Cup, hosted by the great nation of Mapletish.

ADUN’S FINEST WIN AT THE REPUBLIC CUP!!

The Duo Colors obtained their first international victory. Erik Gayman scored the match’s only goal to give Adun the 1-0 victory over the nation of Krumbia. The goal came from a corner kick. Erik leaped over everyone and headed the ball into the ground and it bounced into the goal. Despite having a tendency of taking off his shirt when scoring goals in his club matches, Erik kept his shirt on as he cheered Adun’s first international goal.

With the days leading up to the match, there had been surprisingly loud whispers amongst the football traditionalists in our nation. Adun had always been a proud defensive minded football nation, with the better defensive team winning the first ten Adun Premiere League Seasons. It was only last year did an offensively minded team win the Premiere League. Unsurprisingly, it was Erik Gayman who won last year’s Player of the Year, and led his club, the Fighting Tiger’s to totally victory. Many wondered if the newly appointed offensively minded coach would be able to led Adun to victory. With the eyes of 329 million watching Adun play its best, there had no doubt there was tremendous pressure on the coach. Whatever whispers had existed, have been silenced after the whistle blow at the end of the match.

The other two teams in the group tied, which means that Adun leads its group.

In an interview after the match, Erik was ecstatic. The first question was how he felt at that moment, “Oh my goodness, I don’t even know what to say. I’m still taking in all that has happened.”

“How did you feel with the corner kick went toward you?” another asked.

“I knew that I was the only one who could reach it, and I knew that the goalie was watching my every move. If I headed it as hard as I could, the goalie would just pluck it out of the air without a problem. So I hit the ball into the ground so it would bounce into the top of the goal on rebound.”

“How do you respond to football traditionalists?”

“Ah, I don’t worry about them. Our defense is the best part about our team, they kept an incredible team from scoring, I have to give big props to them.”

Republic Cup catch-up

It's time to catch-up on how our teams are faring at the Republic Cup II. The teams at the competition are: Hutt River, Ipeland U-21 and Ipeland A

Hutt River
Hutt River are sitting top of Group E with 4 points, ahead of ABK on goal difference. Hutt River started with a comfortable win at FC Los Elephantes, a 3-0 victory. The goals were scored by William Adams and Juan de Agramonte (2). Hutt River's second game was a 0-0 draw against ABK, Hutt River's main challengers for the top spot.

Ipeland U-21
Ipeland U-21 started their campaign with an exciting 4-2 win over Super Bwitain, with Havier Jacobson, Gilbert Saunders (2) and Sammy Homes supplying the goals. Ipeland next game came at ABK U-21, which ended in a 1-0 to Ipeland, Gilbert Saunders scoring. As a result of these games, Ipeland U-21 are sitting at the top of Group F by 3 points.

Ipeland A
Ipeland A are suffering a slightly worse campaign, sitting second in Group D, behind the suspiciously good Mapletish Tigers. Ipeland didn't get off to the best of starts, an 89th minute goal by Kevin Texan salvaging a point for Ipeland in a 1-1 draw with Kerblaekistan. The next game was slightly easier, a 3-1 win against Brendino the 3rd, Kevin Texan (2) and Stuart Holden the goalscorers.

OOC: I think it's sarcasm, or at least I hope it is. We also need an OOC thread.

ABK vs Mapletish Tigers

The ABK National Team has been drawn with Mapletish Tigers XI for the Round of 16. Mapletish Tigers has finished with 4 wins and 2 losses in the group stage. ABK on the other hand finished first in Group E, with 5 wins and 1 draw. The Abdians have only given up 2 goals, scoring 12. Jonathan Ellefson has hit the back of the net three times. Claude Crutcher has added two. Jeremiah Church, Lloyd Miller, Mark Brown, Miguel Atterbarry, John Church, Al Grieger, and Karl Fox have each scored one. Tigers plays a 4-3-3, which the Abdians should exploit to perfection. Mapletish Tigers plays 5 in the center, which will allow the Abdians to exploit the weaker wings, something manager Carty Lakan has repeatedly stressed. With Mark Brown coming back after a short injury, an injury which he says he is "100% recovered from," the Abdians look to have a good shot moving the ball. Another key will be possession. The Elephdonkeys have kept possession very well in the last few games, with their percentage steadily improving. The Abdians have also taken care of passing, and Lakan said the are really improving on their footwork. All of this looks to an Abdian victory.

Our Prediciton: 5-1 ABK.

Abdian Goals: Ellefson (2), Atterbarry, Crutcher, Brown
Mapletish Tigers Goals: Carleton
