Rosters' thread

The nations of this universe are unique, each one have very specific characteristic, stuff that may be even seen as unreal in other nations... the same happens with their National Teams. You know, some nations are populated by very special species, or have some interesting cultures. In the World Cup history, we had football teams composed by gnomes, elves, sentient objects, non-sentient but football-playing food... and what about teams of criminals, philosophers, doctors, monks... just an example of the diversity that the World Cup offers, a reflection of the world we live. You know, some nations even have teams composed by professional football players!

And this is the place to put your roster (your team's squad, the list of players). Any information about your team is welcome here, from the names and positions of the players to the information about the coach, the stadium, the kits and things about the country. The information you post here can help a lot other participating countries to RP games against you (or other stories). Hmm... it seems that the lazyness I usually have in developing introduction paragraphs for my league was carried over to this post, as this is the same paragraph used in WC52's rosters thread (actually, the same of WC48 too... oh well... do not forget that the other people will check here the info about your squad, so this is a major source of information for anyone!

So, feel free to post here your squad list and other general information about your team.

Also, choose a style modifier from -5 (most defensive) to +5 (most offensive), which will determine the attitude of your country (defensive or offensive).

And, to finish, you can tell the other participants what they can or cannot do in their RPs involving your team, completing the RP permissions box:

Arcatean National Team.

After a strong showing in the Baptism of Fire, the Arcatean National team hopes it can keep up the momentum from the BoF, Its Homecoming Tour, and the Republic Cup to qualify for the 57th World Cup. The National team is Managed by Marvin Glove, and Trevor Rush both of which are former Collegiate coaches at the University of Mason River. Most players for the Arcatean team are either current or Former Arcatean National Collegiate Association players as Arcatea does not currently have a Domestic League. However, after its strong showing in the BoF and its hosting of the Republic Cup, the Arcatean Sports Commission is in the process of setting up a Arcatean Association Football League.

After a very successful Baptism of Fire, Thatius is ready to enter the qualifying stages of the World Cup. A quarterfinal run in the Baptism of Fire gives Thatians some hope that they will be at least partially successful in their endeavor to qualify this year, but the team will not be without some strong players. From the Baptism of Fire to the Di Bradini Cup to the Draggonnii Inviyatti, Thatius has already competed in many international soccer tournaments, but finally has decided to compete in the World Cup.

Manager: George Davies- Resigned from the first team after a very disappointing start to the World Cup 56, which he deemed disgraceful for a team who had just won the Baptism of Fire, then managed the Womens Squad in the Weaker Sex World Cup but after an agreement with the KFA has returned to the national team managers position. Will be hoping to further increase Kalumba's world standing and possibly make the knockout stages.

First Team Coach: Magnus Malan- Led the team throughout the last World Cup without much success but he did record a notable victory against highly rated Newmanistan, and suffered only narrow defeats to teams in the top 25 in the world. Very defensive minded and his approach led the team to be nicknamed 'The Tortoises'.

Goalkeepers:
Terrence Ottbourne-No.1 34 years old and team captain, an agile ex-paratrooper. He led the team to victory in the BoF and kept a clean sheet until the quarter-final. Together with Aaron Yuill of Southern Cynocephali was the outstanding keeper of the tournament. Now plays in Kagdazka and Pazhujebu proffesionally.
Frank Burnden-No.67 37 year old veteran keeper, useful back up option. Will not expect to start but will most probably be on the bench to cover for the outstanding 'Super Terry' Ottbourne.
Peter Franks-No.41 21 year old rookie, first selection for the team. Missed out on going to the Di Bradini cup by 2 months, so will be hoping to play a few games to secure his position as long term successor to Ottbourne. May play in less crucial group games or when Kalumba are knocked out.

Defenders:
LB-Derek Ward, 27 year old truck driver, stupid but effective No. 12 Recently banned from driving for Drink-Driving, will be hoping to secure a place at a foreign club team to provide him with an income.
LCB-Ronan Beardly, 31 year old, also Kalumba's golfing champion No. 14 Has suffered a nasty shoulder injury but should fit in time for the CoH.
LCB-Duncan Edward, 21 year old, pretty boy, but solid at the back No. 4 Recently married with a child will his mind be fully on the World Cup?
RCB-Klaus Van Harniggen, 22 year old, 6 foot 6, deadly in the air No. 6 Enrolled in a boxing program and has further added strength to his frame.
RCB-Norman Baker, 27 year old bank manager, great slide tackler No. 5 Castigated in the news for losing his bank a large amount of money speculating on the stock market, will try to rebuild his reputation.
RB-James Downs, 39 year old ex-rugpy prop forward, solid but no agility whatsoever No. 3 Recently dropped from his Rugby team so is looking to football for his wage.
RB-Frank Ruyten, 21 year old civil servant, very fast but poor crossing ability No. 19 Has worked on his crossing but still struggles to fulfill his promise as an attacking fullback.

Midfielders:
LM-Peter Kurtz, 23 year old full time proffesional footballer No. 21 Still struggling for form but has improved at the World Cup scoring twice and creating another couple for Kalumba.
LM-James Fish, 17 year old protege No. 9 Still a protege, retained for the first team instead of the U21s so Davies clearly intends to play him.
CM-Ollie Roberts, 21 year old model and dancing champion No. 18 First high profile homosexual in Kalumba. Has moved to Southern Cynocephali to play proffesionally and be open with his sexuality.
CM-Ben Rowlatt, 23 year old boxer No. 16 Robert's husband. Their relationship has caused problems in the team but after performances from them both helped to win the BoF are being more accepted.
CM -Oliver Dempster, 31 year old taxi driver No. 15 Recovering from shock after being mugged in his taxi, but will recieve the fans full support.
CAM -Ben Cheeter, 21 built like an arab donkey but with the shot of an angry mule No. 27 Didn't impress at either the BoF or the last WC but still integral to the team as he links the midfield to the strikers.
CDM- William Anderson, 35 year old Protestant Minister, couldn't tackle for toffee but aggrssive as the most violent phsycopath No. 17 Has toned down his aggression as he recieved a lot of yellow cards at the BoF and the last WC and was lucky not to be sent off.
RM-Chris Abouto, 21 year old sprinter, fast and can turn on a sixpence No. 33 A truly marvellous footballer, other than Ottbourne our player of the year. Scored many and set up more. Also rewarded with a move to proffesional football in K&P.
RW-Jermaine Filks, 32 year old great crosser of the ball No. 11 Due to Abouto's excellence has yet to feature but has worked on his left sided play in hope of getting a starting position.

Strikers:
RS- Roland Grezlak, 26 year old, 6 foot strong as an ox No. 8 Came on to score many a crucial goal, will be looking for me involvment this time round.
RS- Anthony Peters, 21 year old, youngster but top scorer last season No. 99 Barely featured but did score our second goal in the BoF final. Will be looking to break into the team on a regular basis.
LS-James Malone, 34 year old, seasoned veteran No. 21 Struggled for form and not likely to feature here unless there is a major injury crisis.
CF- Kevin Davis, 32 year old, ex-heavyweight champion boxer No. 10 Another key player. His goals and hold up play won Kalumba many games and will be hoping to continue his wonderful form and impress at this World Cup which may be his last.
CF- Craig Garden, 27 year old, reliable but not much skill No. 93 Another non-starter and like Malone will struggle to record a further cap to his collection of seven.

After inconsistent form in the last World Cup Qualifying period, Yuill returned to his best in the Cup of Harmony, leading the team to a third place finish. His stunning form in the Baptism of Fire 43 saw the team captain move to the KPFA League First Division, where he now finds himself holding down a starting place at Vulkan Gelendzhik under Šudhan Chahachim. Yuill will be looking to learn from the errors of the last campaign and lead the team to their first World Cup appearance at their second attempt.
GK - Achraf Drif
Age: 18, Caps: 0, Club: on loan to Vincanto (Royal Vosaroni Antenelli)
A series of strong performances at club and national level (U-21) meant that manager Ramolino could not omit the young keeper from his squad. Drif was part of the U-21 team that came third in the last Di Bradini Cup. Will need the stars to align just right in order to see game time.

GK - Stephen Mahoney
Age: 30, Caps: 6, Club: Port Milne FC
The aging journeyman had one of his best seasons on record, winning the title with Port Milne FC. Despite his strong season, Mahoney will be lucky to appear for his side outside of the friendly matches.

Defenders
DC - Gildas Mancion
Age: 25, Caps: 35, Club: Saint-Urbain
Mancion will be responsible for the right hand side of the three man defence, and will need to be at his best. May be rotated regularly by the manager as he looks to make use of Carlton off the bench.

DC - Sterling Greynold
Age: 27, Caps: 38, Club: Baltimore
The heart of the three man defence, Greynold will need to help out the other two at the back as play dictates. Whilst at twenty seven he is anything but old, he is the eldest of the three at the back. Greynold will need to work hard to keep up with his younger colleagues especially as the team employs the offside trap with the three man defence.

DC - Dion Jantot
Age: 23, Caps: 6, Club: Royal Rumiatzi
After strong performances at club level, Jantot will be another player disappointed to not feature in the starting team. With many years ahead of him, the manager will use this club to give some more international experience to the promising centre-back. As the only dedicated central defender on the bench, Jantot can expect to see significant time off the bench and may find himself promoted to the starting eleven if the incumbents are forced out through injury.
DC - Neville Kluka
Age: 24, Caps: 33, Club: Lilter United - HOSPITALISED INDEFINITELY
Despite not having his best season, Kluka still finds himself in the first eleven for the moment. Dion Jantot has been impressing at club level and is banging on the door louder and louder each week. Could be the first casualty if Les Cynos suffer an unexpected defeat or concede a soft goal.

DL - Erik Kneip
Age: 26, Caps: 35, Club: A.F.C Rhohdah
The casualty from the formation switch to 3-5-2, Kneip has made no illusions of his desire to get back into the first team. His lack of ability when playing in the middle of the defence could prove a liability, so he may only be used later in matches as Ramolino looks to shore up the defence by adding a man at the back.

DR - Dominique Carlton
Age: 22, Caps: 7, Club: A.F.C Rhohdah
An unremarkable season for Carlton at club level seems to have stalled his rise to the starting eleven. Still, Carlton should expect to make some appearances of the bench and will use the limited time he sees to push his bid for selection further.

DC - Octavio Siegel
Age: 20, Caps: 1, Club: Port Milne FC
Siegel is another young player to burst onto the scene in Southern Cynocephali. Playing as part of the U-21 international team he performed as expected, and won his senior international spot on the back of solid defending at Port Milne FC as they won the title last season. Partnered by Hallvarð Friðfinnursson (Bleak Rock) at Port Milne, the pair terrorised attackers all season and provided the platform for the rest of the team to build upon. Will provide Jantot with some competition on the bench although is likely to be just part of the squad for the experience.

CB - Junior Joachim
Age: 20, Caps: 0, Club: Upper Lalard
Another member of the U-21 team to come through to the senior team, Joachim's foot was unfortunately broken (by his girlfriend running over it with her car) just after the national team was announced. Expected to be fit by the latter portion of qualifying, a replacement has not been called in. Local Cynoceph commentators have commented that his inclusion was only part of the long term plan enacted by manager Ramolino at the start of his tenure, and that the player is only being included to garner experience from training with his senior squadmates.

Midfielders
MR - C.R. Cangelosi
Age: 26, Caps: 29, Club: Eastern Chase
Cangelosi looked certain to be pushed out of the first eleven by Schweiss, but has won a reprieve courtesy of Ramolino's formation change. Will still need to push himself as the change of formation is by no means permanent and the manager may revert to the old system should the new one fail. Adding to this is a new crop of youngsters pushing for future selection so Cangelosi cannot afford to take his foot off the pedal if he wants to keep his spot.
