I disagree with the shameful misuse of Roman numerals - IC does not exist! I'm assuming it was meant to be 90, which would be XC, or 99, XCIX

Unforeseen circumstances (namely, my scorination computer acting up) have caused me to not be able to scorinate today's game. If anyone can and will step up, TG Cass or me for the info.

EDIT: United Eastedge has stepped up to do this.

Just want to announce that following tomorrow's scorination, I am going to be taking a little bit of a break from NS Sports, due to several factors. I likely will not actively RP anywhere until WC69.

I'm also (likely) going to take a break from RPing until the start of the next World Cup, due to burnout (unless I suddenly feel like RPing in the meantime). I will still be around in a non-RPing capacity, however.

I'm going to echo my sentiments here as well. This is the longest string of consecutive daily RPs I've ever done, and exams start next week, so I'll take a break as well. I'll still be on IRC, but don't expect any RPing until exams are over, in two or three weeks time.

Whelp, wish I had RPed more, but there's always next time. Sorry to my opponents for my silence on that front.

Anyways, congrats to Saintland on a well-deserved victory! I thought you'd get it at the last World Bowl, but you finally won a proper "major" title. Also, commiserations to Electrum for coming so close only to come up short in the end. Stick around and I'm sure you'll get one eventually.

I'd like to thank Cassadaigua on a fantastic and a well run tournament. There were really no problems or anything of the sort, so that was really good!

Congratulations as well to Saintland who have finally won their first major title! After coming up short twice in the WC and WB, you've deserved to finally get this one.

Thank you everyone for your kind sentiments. You can be sure that we'll be back next time as #4 in the world.

Now that Cass is gone, we need someone to run this thing. I'm not senior, but I propose someone with some sort of authority enacts a vote on Saintland's constitution.

Also, we should have this every cycle, with the number of signups it gets it'd be bonkers not to.

I think a few adjustments (and more discussion) are still needed before it can go up for vote. I think the WBC-style Council voting needs to be removed, at the very least, since it is pointless to go through the voting process if everybody's likely going to get in, anyway.

I second the suggestion to have an IBC per cycle. When the time is right, I'll start the signup thread (if nobody else beats me to it).

I don't quite know what you are trying to say about the voting. I think the WBC way of adding nations to the council is good, however to start with we should not have to vote everyone on. Is that your point?

What he's saying is that we shouldn't have council voting at all, that getting into the council is automatic. I myself don't like the system either as Saintland says, they're pretty much guaranteed entry anyways. Also, it's just a whole lot of fuss for admission into a council for pretty much the same outcome regardless.

IIRC the Olympics has a similar system where they just accept those who have participated in the prior two Olympics to be in the council. No need for all that hullabaloo associated with voting.

(Maybe an RP and a roster in the previous IBC to determine entry?)

I see, and having read through the constitution and taken on board these changes I could support it.

One thing I feel I should mention is that there is currently nothing coded in saying that the President cannot collect votes when he/she is host bidding. Perhaps add a clause giving this responsiblility to the VP?

What does everybody think about possibly holding the next IBC at the same time as the upcoming Olympics? If that isn't really much of a concern, I'll open signups once the current World Cup hits mid-qual (basically, around the same point in the cycle where Cassadaigua opened signups last time). Otherwise, I'll hold off for another week or 2.

I'm assuming that there is still sufficient interest in running IBCs once a cycle.

Isn't there already a basketball competition in the Olympics? It seems a little tough OOCly and ICly to have them happen at the same time, especially since RL Olympic teams are the equivalent of IBC teams anyway.

In a word, yes, there is. (Clicking on "The event list in full" reveals a men's and women's competition.)

TBH, I may enter the Olympics this time around since it has several events of interest that otherwise seem to get very little RP interest. May.

Also, there's recently been a World Hoops Showcase, and I'm not sure of the status of the international domestic team tournaments as I was never involved in them.

Wait, is Saintland signing up a basketball team in the Olympics?

In any case, with signups due in less than a week, the Olympics are set to start shortly, and it will take 2-3 weeks to finish, not to mention the time in the middle. This places the IBC very late into the cycle, perhaps even after the World Cup is finished. We could hold it later than usual for this time round

I think that the IBC alone isn't enough of a basketball tournament,we should have at least two tournaments which helps in our rankings

Wait, is Saintland signing up a basketball team in the Olympics?

I've decided to leave both Saintland and Free Republics out of the Olympics this time around and just enter 2 of my puppets instead, since there is no way that I'm going to actually RP 2 nations at the Olympics. While I had originally planned to enter the Free Republics in the Olympics, I decided against that on second thought, since I have decided that I won't be RPing during this year's Summer Olympics. The main reason why I asked was because I wasn't sure how much of an overlap there would be between the IBC and the Olympics.

I'm likely going to be reducing the number of events that Saintland enters, although Saintland will continue to enter events where they have a history of success and/or a high ranking and will likely remain my sole IBC nation. I have much more in the way of RP ideas for Free Republics than for Saintland, at the moment.
