OFA League System

Please Read: This thread is intended exclusively for the use of Ocel0t, to post domestic league results and news. Therefore, please do not post your own league results or anything unrelated to the topic. Actually, please don't post anything at all. Thanks!

This thread will contain all future league results, transfers, and general news such as injuries and manager replacements. The league system will contain two divisions, each with 16 teams. There is also a third tier and regional amateur leagues, but they will not be covered here (due to my relative ineptitude with scorinators and my lack of ideas for team names :p ) I may expand the league system to include these divisions in the future. The UIG A Liga is the top division, sponsored by UIG (Union Insurance Group,) an insurance giant in Oce0t. The Tropagina B Liga is the second tier, sponsored by Tropagina, a soft-drink company from Ocel0t. Enjoy, and TG me if you have any transfer requests, questions, ideas, or concerns!

Oh, and also hope I don't screw the scores up too much :D!

OFA League System Inaugural Season

Image
League Preview

The whole of Ocel0t is waiting in anticipation of the UIG A Liga inaugural season, with the voting completed by the OFA on which teams to include in which divisions. With only four spots for international tournaments, there will be much competition between all sides of the league, who's fans are fiercely loyal even though there was no organized league prior. The league will be without many internationally capped players as they look to go overseas, but still holds some potential for other stars to emerge. The title race looks set to be between three classically successful teams, Draga Portamonense, Esporte Clube Porta, and Fiorentino Rigo, but others are not to be overlooked.

If this were an international tournament you could, however this is just a domestic league and is not open to other nations. This is not something you can really join, but you can create your own league system in your own thread or post it in this (http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3108) thread. Then you can sign your clubs up for international competitions. I appreciate that you wish to get involved, but please refrain from posting anything in this thread. If you wish to contact me regarding anything else, please telegram me. If you have any additional questions about anything related to sports or RPing in this forum, please post them in this (ttp://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=612) thread, and knowledgeable users will answer them.

Also, this is European football :)

Five games into the season, we take a look at how everything has started out in the A Liga and the B Liga.

Image
UIG A LIGA

MATCHDAY 1
Draga Portamonense 1-0 Sporting Club Corzon
Esporte Clube Porta 2-0 Desportivo Coimbra
Fiorentino Rigo 1-0 Nacional Vallaloid
Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao 1-0 Esporte Clube Olhao
Union Desportiva de Beira 1-2 Sporting de Vila Reial
Futebol Clube Gijon 6-1 Sport Club Madiera
Desportivo Ciudad 1-1 Desportiva Clube Saville
Centro Desportivo de Callao 0-1 Esporte Clube Albacera

The favorites got off to a good start in the first ever match day in the UIG A Liga, all three registering victories at home. Raül won the game for Draga Portamonense against a spirited side from Corzon, while Hovhannisyan netted a double for Esporte Clube Porta and Silvo scored the winner for Fiorentino. Fuetbol Clube Gijon sit at the top of the table on goal difference after demolishing Madiera, with a hat-trick for both El Ackchaoui and Bautista.

MATCHDAY 2
Desportivo Coimbra 0-3 Draga Portamonense
Nacional Vallaloid 6-2 Sporting Club Corzon
Esporte Clube Olhao 2-2 Esporte Clube Porta
Sporting de Vila Reial 0-4 Fiorentino Rigo
Sport Club Madiera 0-2 Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao
Desportiva Clube Saville 1-8 Union Desportiva de Beira
Esporte Clube Albacera 2-1 Futebol Clube Gijon
Centro Desportivo de Callao 1-0 Desportivo Ciudad

Draga Portamonense and Fiorentino won again, both away from home, as Esporte Clube Porta were held away at Olhao. Beira flattened Saville after a dismal display from the home side, with seven players netting in an all-around effort. Nacional Vallaloid also registered a big win against a hapless Sporting Club Corzon, while Gijon failed to build on their first day victory with a narrow defeat at Albacera.

MATCHDAY 3
Draga Portamonense 4-1 Nacional Vallaloid
Desportivo Coimbra 1-0 Esporte Clube Olhao
Sporting Club Corzon 0-1 Sporting de Vila Reial
Esporte Clube Porta 4-1 Sport Club Madiera
Fiorentino Rigo 5-2 Desportiva Clube Saville
Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao 2-5 Esporte Clube Albacera
Union Desportiva de Beira 2-0 Centro Desportivo de Callao
Futebol Clube Gijon 2-0 Desportivo Ciudad

Another day of big wins for the favorites, as Draga, Porta, and Fiorentino all won comfortably at home. Albacera has revealed themselves to be a possible title challenger after shocking ambitious Rio Uniao away, with Santin and Princip each netting two and Medo pulling back a fifth. Corzon's poor run of form continued as they fell at home to Vila Reial with a less than convincing display. Gijon recovered from a loss last week with a win over a mediocre Ciudad side.

MATCHDAY 4
Esporte Clube Olhao 3-4 Draga Portamonense
Sporting de Vila Reial 2-2 Nacional Vallaloid
Sport Club Madiera 3-0 Desportivo Coimbra
Desportiva Clube Saville 1-2 Sporting Club Corzon
Esporte Clube Albacera 1-2 Esporte Clube Porta
Centro Desportivo de Callao 0-0 Fiorentino Rigo
Desportivo Ciudad 2-6 Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao
Futebol Clube Gijon 4-1 Union Desportiva de Beira

Fiorentino were lucky to escape with a draw in Callao after a poor display, and Jara picked up the man of the match award with some amazing saves to keep them in the game. Draga edged out Olhao with a late winner from Hulk, scoring four goals in the second half after falling two goals behind in the first. Albacera was put to the test at home against Esporte Clube Porta, as the away side won with goals from Cristian and Fico in the first half. Rio Uniao and Gijon both picked up big wins, winning 2-6 and 4-1 respectively. Madiera earned their first win of the season with a solid display against Coimbra, winning 3-0.

MATCHDAY 5
Draga Portamonense 5-1 Sporting de Vila Reial
Esporte Clube Olhao 1-1 Sport Club Madiera
Nacional Vallaloid 6-2 Desportiva Clube Saville
Desportivo Coimbra 1-0 Esporte Clube Albacera
Sporting Club Corzon 1-0 Centro Desportivo de Callao
Esporte Clube Porta 4-1 Desportivo Ciudad
Fiorentino Rigo 1-2 Futebol Clube Gijon
Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao 1-1 Union Desportiva de Beira

Draga Portamonense continued their scorching form, making it five wins from five games, hitting five goals past an unfortunate Vila Reial side. Fiorentino suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Gijon, as they showed another lackluster performance, with Sosa and Fernandez sealing victory for the away side. Corzon continued their revival with a win against Callao. Draga currently sits top of the league, with Esporte Clube Porta in hot pursuit. Olhao, Ciudad, and Saville have yet to win a game, with the former earning just two points from a possible 15, and the latter two earning just a single point each.

I was too busy with RL events to post the scores in time for the TQCC and other international competitions, but I will continue the season and the winners will compete in the next tournament cycle. Anyway, now for the scores as the leagues are 1/3 of the way through their seasons...

Image

MATCHDAY 6
Sport Club Madiera 3-1 Draga Portamonense
Desportiva Clube Saville 1-2 Sporting de Vila Reial
Esporte Clube Albacera 3-1 Esporte Clube Olhao
Centro Desportivo de Callao 1-1 Nacional Vallaloid
Desportivo Ciudad 0-2 Desportivo Coimbra
Futebol Clube Gijon 4-2 Sporting Club Corzon
Union Desportiva de Beira 1-2 Esporte Clube Porta
Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao 0-2 Fiorentino Rigo

Esporte Clube Porta took the lead in the table as Draga Portamonense was shocked by a modest Madiera side with three goals in the first half by Sougou, Marquês, and Makalakalane, ending their perfect record. Elsewhere, Gijon and Albacera both won comfortably at home while Fiorentino went back to winning ways against a Rio Uniao side not living up to expectations, as Qüaresma and Enevoldsen scored on either side of half time.

MATCHDAY 7
Draga Portamonense 1-0 Desportiva Clube Saville
Sport Club Madiera 2-2 Esporte Clube Albacera
Sporting de Vila Reial 0-2 Centro Desportivo de Callao
Esporte Clube Olhao 4-0 Desportivo Ciudad
Nacional Vallaloid 0-1 Futebol Clube Gijon
Desportivo Coimbra 1-4 Union Desportiva de Beira
Sporting Club Corzon 2-2 Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao
Esporte Clube Porta 0-1 Fiorentino Rigo

The serpents delivered another shaky display against lowly Saville, edging them out with a late goal from Guarcouff at home, although they are now back at the top due to EC Porta's loss. The much-anticipated fixture between EC Porta and Fiorentino was thrilling, a last-gasp header from Silvo winning the game for the away side. Olhao also demolished Ciudad at home, while Beira recorded a big win against Coimbra.

MATCHDAY 8
Esporte Clube Albacera 1-3 Draga Portamonense
Centro Desportivo de Callao 2-1 Desportiva Clube Saville
Desportivo Ciudad 3-3 Sport Club Madiera
Futebol Clube Gijon 1-4 Sporting de Vila Reial
Union Desportiva de Beira 1-1 Esporte Clube Olhao
Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao 4-0 Nacional Vallaloid
Fiorentino Rigo 3-0 Desportivo Coimbra
Esporte Clube Porta 1-0 Sporting Club Corzon

All of the big three won on matchday 8, with Fiorentino brushing aside Coimbra and Draga beating Globe Cup hopefuls away. EC Porta was more challenged as they held back a spirited Corzon side for the win. Rio Uniao also won, knocking four past a hapless side from Vallaloid. Saville have now lost seven games in a row, while Ciudad managed to halt a six game losing streak with a hard-fought draw against Madiera. Neither side have won a single game yet this season.

MATCHDAY 9
Draga Portamonense 2-0 Centro Desportivo de Callao
Esporte Clube Albacera 3-2 Desportivo Ciudad
Desportiva Clube Saville 1-1 Futebol Clube Gijon
Sport Club Madiera 0-1 Union Desportiva de Beira
Sporting de Vila Reial 0-7 Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao
Esporte Clube Olhao 2-3 Fiorentino Rigo
Nacional Vallaloid 1-0 Esporte Clube Porta
Desportivo Coimbra 1-0 Sporting Club Corzon

Esporte Clube Porta suffered their second defeat in three games, falling away against Nacional Vallaloid. Rio Uniao annihilated Vila Reial away, building up a five goal lead in the first half. Ciudad were unlucky not to gain a point away at Albacera, as they came from behind to tie the game at 2-2 before a late penalty by Santin won the game for the home side. Saville picked up their second point of the season and are now level with Ciudad at the foot of the table after holding Gijon to a draw at home.

MATCHDAY 10
Desportivo Ciudad 1-6 Draga Portamonense
Futebol Clube Gijon 4-1 Centro Desportivo de Callao
Union Desportiva de Beira 2-0 Esporte Clube Albacera
Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao 5-2 Desportiva Clube Saville
Fiorentino Rigo 5-1 Sport Club Madiera
Esporte Clube Porta 2-1 Sporting de Vila Reial
Sporting Club Corzon 1-1 Esporte Clube Olhao
Desportivo Coimbra 1-1 Nacional Vallaloid

A day of big wins in the A Liga saw Draga thrash Ciudad away, with two goals each from Guarcouff and Boateng as well as strikes from Ostergaard and Touré. Fiorentino brushed Madiera aside with a hat-trick from Fico, and Rio Uniao won against despairing Desportiva Clube Saville. Beira saw off Albacera at home, while EC Porta was relieved to go away with a win after a tense second half with no goals against Vila Reial.

15 Desportiva Clube Saville 10 0 2 8 12 33 -21 2
16 Desportivo Ciudad 10 0 2 8 10 32 -22 2

The serpents remain at the top, a loss to Madiera being their only slip-up thus far. Gijon has kept up their good form to remain in third place, while EC Porta has slipped down to fourth and Fiorentino has climbed to second, two points behind Draga. Rio Uniao, Beira, and Albacera remain close behind in the chase for international competitions. Saville and Ciudad have started out dreadfully, both sides still looking to win a single match and only claiming two points out of 30 possible. They both have conceded over 30 goals while averaging only about one goal per match.

Draga Portamonense announces new kits

As the season continues, Draga Portamonense has announced their new kits to be worn for the rest of the season ad possibly in the future. The new kit, manufactured by Concept Sport International, replaces the old one made by Entra that had a solid green home kit and a solid white away kit. The sponsor has also changed, as BetSmart reached the end of their contract, and has been replaced by Digital, an electronics company. There is also an addition of a sponsor on the back of the jersey, which is Banco Imperio, a banking giant in Ocel0t. The new kit has received very positive reviews from the fans and players of he club.

The Great Migration

Several of Ocel0t's top international players including Muamar El Ghanasay, Dmitri Bilaydinetov, and Milan Vrhovnek have left Ocel0t to go overseas and compete in a more challenging league. Five Ocel0t internationals were sold, and all are moving to Erathore to play in Seria A, a very competitive and league, while it is also still evolving. Other high-profile players include defenders Mamadou Luyindula and Jamal El Jubbory.

Ocel0t big-name striker El Ghanasay is the top scorer for the national team, and has signed with Matarazi, who finished eighth in last season in the Seria A. The fee has been revealed to be $18.3 million, officially stated by both the OFA and the EFA. Matarazi have never reached international competitions, and were only promoted from Seria B two seasons ago. However, they are showing promise to eventually challenge for the title consistently every season. El Ghanasay's skills are precisely what's needed for them to achieve that.

Star midfielder Milan Vrhovnek has signed with Charzzan, a very talented side who managed a second place finish in Seria A, a full 11 points ahead of Juvillian Martinax. The fee is $19.7 million, and Vrhovnek is desparate to live up to his price tag, so plenty should be expected of the artistic midfielder in his three years there.

Striker Dmitri Bilaydinetov is also moving overseas to Arsar for $14 million. The Ocel0t international has the second-highest number of goals for the national team, and will surely be a big part of the club for next season. Arsar only managed a 13th place finish in the Seria A last season, but has been looking to bolster their squad to be a bigger threat the next season, and Bilaydinetov can help to drive the team up the table.

International central defender Mamadou Luyindula is a young star for the national side, and still has plenty of room for more growth at the age of 23. The defender has signed with Arro for a reported $9.5 million, the side placing a respectable 9th last season in the Seria A. The youngster is eager to improve his skills even further, and has stated he thinks the Seria A is the perfect place for it.
"Young stars have emerged from the Seria A like Del Nieran, and I want to set my path to becoming one of the world's greats and to serve my country well," he was quoted.

Jamal El Jubbory, partner of Luyindula as a central defender on the national side, has signed with 12th placed Jutear for $7 million in a three year contract. The talented defender will look to make a reputation for himself at Jutear, and is very excited about being able to play in the same league as players like Lee Sharp, Cesc Celestino, and Ryan Cote. Jutear's position is the same as Arsar's, as the sides finished level on points.

This is all good news for the Ocel0t national football team, as these players will gain international experience and become even better in the future.

Fiorentino Rigo managed to hold off Draga at home in the most thrilling match of the season, with six goals scored in the second half and two in the first. The game started off slowly but began to pick up speed, and Fiorentino was the first to score as Silvo sent a stinging free kick into the top corner of the net. Draga didn't take long to respond, with Touré chipping a ball over the head of Jara and into the goal. The first half ended with several more missed chances for each side. The second half started quickly as both sides scored in the first five minutes, with Raül picking up a ball from Ostergaard and slotting the ball home, and Fico scoring a simple tap-in after being put through by Silvo. The game remained tied as both Palacious and Boateng scored, but Draga then rushed to the lead in the 68th minute as Guarcouff left the Fiorentino defense for dead and scored with a simple shot past Jara. However, the game was not won, and there was a dramatic finish as Enevoldsen scored a header from a Silvo corner in stoppage time.

Esporte Clube Albacera 1-0 Desportiva Clube Saville

Another big game occurred in matchday 15, but the much-anticipated fixture was slightly disappointing as Draga eased to victory after building a three point lead in the first half. Wölf and Yamamoto scored for the home side within the first 20 minutes as EC Porta struggled to get a grip on the game. Guarcouff finished the game off in the last minute of the first half with one of his famous headers, and the half ended with raucous applause from the home support. The second half saw more of a fight from EC Porta, but all they managed was a goal from Cartozo in the 50th minute which didn't even draw any applause from the away fans. The game ended quietly 40 minutes later, with no more notable chances created.

Muslimovic leaves Fiorentino

Ocel0t international midfielder Andriy Muslimovic has been sold to Veveron, a Mattish soccer club playing in the PSL, for a reported £7. This comes after the player had several disagreements with Fiorentino manager Andrea Luchesi, and Muslimovic had voiced his wish to go overseas in the past. "Andriy and I had some arguments, and it was clear that he wanted to move on. I hope he goes and f**ks- I mean, all of us at Fiorentino wish him the best at his new club," Luchesi was quoted.

Former Fiorentino teammate Morten Kjaer recalled "They (Muslimovic and Luchesi) almost came to blows with each other several times, and I remember Andrea once didn't include Andriy in a game (a 2-0 loss against Beira) after one really bad argument. Then Andriy stopped training with us for a few weeks, although no of the team knew why. Then it was clear that he was leaving. It was sort of a shock to us, because we didn't even know before then that he wanted to leave, so none of us got to say goodbye."

Muslimovic is determined to show his worth at Veveron, stating "I am very excited with this opportunity become an even better player and to help my new club succeed. I think that I can push on with Veveron and win the title, and I think the team has a bright future with new players and I want to be part of it." When asked about former manager Andrea Luchesi, Muslimovic's agent stepped in and ended the interview.

Muslimovic will bring great experience to the club, having competed in over 25 international matches with three total assists. This meanwhile will be a blow to Fiorentino's hopes for the A Liga title. However, Luchesi remains comfident as they still have a strong midfield without him. "We never needed that piece of- I mean, It is disappointing that Andriy has gone, and his skills were very valuable to the team. But we still have a good squad, and we can move on without him. We are already targeting a few players to sign to fill the gap he has made.

Grant sacked

Desportiva Clube Saville has announced that manager Steven Grant is leaving the club. Grant was informed immediately after their 1-0 loss away to Albacera, although the club looked like they would have fired him regardless of the result. Saville has picked up only two points from a possible 45 since the start of the season, and are still winless.

Grant's job has been walking a fine line for the whole season, and most think he should have been sacked sooner. The club announced on their website "We thank Steven for his services and wish him the best for the future." Steven Grant declined to comment on the story. Saville are currently searching for a new manager.

A similar situation is developing in fellow club Ciudad, as Simeone Beraldi looks set for the same fate as Grant after only having picked up five points in the table so far. The two clubs lag dangerously behind the rest of the teams in the league, and huge improvement is needed if they are to survive.

Saville hires Shelton

Bob Shelton became the first foreigner involved in the UIG A Liga after he replaced Steven Grant as manager of Desportiva Clube Saville. Shelton has a huge task in front of him to lead Saville to survival, with a mediocre squad and a huge point gap between them and most of the other teams. The club has full confidence in Shelton's abilities, but do not expect good results immediately.

Shelton was unfairly fired at his last post at Havenburg as he led them to the top four of the MPL before a slight dip in form saw him sacked. Shelton hopes to replicate the success he had at Havenburg with Saville, and he has been desparate to get back to coaching. Shelton aims to make big changes at the club with new players and staff. However, It seems unlikely that even he will be able to save Saville from relegation, and he might have to settle for managing in the B Liga next season.

Draga are in an excellent run of form and consequentially are at the top of the table, while Fiorentino are just three points behind. A gap has developed between the two first place teams and the rest of the pack, with Esporte Clube Porta in a disappointing fourth place, behind an impressive Rio Uniao on goal difference. Beira and Albacera lead the mid-table pack, with ambitious Gijon in a disappointing 9th place. Corzon are also enduring a disappointing season, as they are in danger of relegation with a gap developing between them and Callao. The situation looks hopeless for Ciudad and Saville at the foot of the table, but there is a glimmer of hope for Saville at least as new manager Bob Shelton led them to their first win of the season.

Saville announces new kits

Desportiva Clube Saville is in desperate times, and what better way to lift their spirits than some shiny new kits? They are still manufactured by Concept Sportswear, and maintain mostly the same design, but the away kit which had previously been yellow has been changed to a gold color. There are also other minor changes on both kits, as well as the introduction of Climatec technology. The home kit has been received well by the players and fans, but the away kit has had a mixed reception as many are sentimental of the old yellow kit.

5/6ths through the season, and things are heating up with only five games to go. Who will be relegated? Who will win? No one knows...(except for me)

Stachlandic trio to play in A Liga

Stachlandic internationals Rettar Goyak, Enver Tunak, and Perte Chellar have signed for clubs in the A Liga to become the first foreigners to ever play in the league. They will bring great experience and skill to the league, while their young age makes them a valuable future asset.

Rettar Goyal, with over 30 international appearances, has joined Esporte Clube Porta for a reported £11m on a four year deal. This comes as a bid for EC Porta to try to catch up to Fiorentino and Draga at the top of the table. Porta have had a frustrating season, and Goyal will have to step up to lead the team to a better season next year.

Fellow defender Enver Tunak has signed with Fiorentino for £9.5m as the team try to snatch the title from under Draga's noses. The defense has been a weak point in the team this season, and Tunak has the skills necessary to strengthen it. However, at such a young age and relatively little playing experience, it will be just as much a time for him to develop further as a player.

There has been extra cash flowing around in Beira after a season which surpassed expectations, and the management has invested it in the squad with new coaching staff and a few new players, including signing internationally capped Stachland forward Perte Chellar. The forward signed a three year deal for £8.5m at the club. He will offer Beira some attacking venom that the team have lacked in this season, the strong midfield and defense making up for it.

All the players are expected to excel next season in the A Liga, and all three have begun training with their respective teams.

Beraldi Sacked, Rinaldi to take charge

Simeone Beraldi has been sacked in an official statement from Desportivo Ciudad's board of directors. Vincente Rinaldi, the former caretaker of the club, has agreed a deal to become permanent manager. Although relatively young at 42, it is hoped that Rinaldi will bring a new style of abstract thinking to the side who are desperate to regain promotion after a disastrous stay in the A Liga.

However, it will be a huge challenge for Rinaldi if he wants to achieve promotion or even just to stay in the B Liga, as a mass exodus of the club's main players is excpected. Defender Loic Yoba, Ciudad's player of the season, has already announced his intention to leave the club, and several other clubs are interested. Rinaldi has stated that he will fight to keep Yoba, but with only a few months left on the player's contract, he may be forced to sell.

Rinaldi has already resigned to the fact that he will lose most of his biggest players, and with the club in a sharp decline, it will be hard to attract good prospects. Ciudad is known to have a good academy, however, and he may be able to promote some of the youngsters to the first squad and keep them- maybe for at least another season.

Spyopolous signs for Yastrabi

Draga Portamonense have sold their young player of the season to Yastrabi of the KPFA League First Division for a reported £11 on a 3-year contract. There has been some protest among the fans of the club, but Draga have claimed "It is necessary to move forward and sign new players, but we wish Christos the best for the future."

Spyopolous's move comes as a surprise to many after his impressive performances the past season for Draga, but the player had hinted he was ready to move on before. "I think I'm ready to move on and take a step up with things. I loved my time at Draga and I still love them, but it's time for something bigger. The K&P league is a competitive place and I'm excited to find my place there," Spyoplous was quoted. He should bring great youth and energy to the team, who finished a disappointing 8th place last season, and want to push on for international spots.

There is also speculation that fellow youngster Givani Hulk from Esporte Clube Porta will be departing for an overseas league, the 22-year-old stating "I deserve something bigger and better than what I have now." It is also heard that EC Porta manager Carlo Mendoza is eager to get rid of the talented youngster after revealing it was "extremely stressful, to put it lightly" to work with Hulk.

Hulk Leaves Porta

22-year-old forward Givani Hulk has been sold to Scott City FC of Darmen for a reported £10m. The talented yet erratic player apparently refused to train with the team before the final game of the season, a 1-1 draw against Draga, and coach Carlo Mendoza has stated "He didn't want to play for the team anymore because we didn't get into the Champion's Cup, and so there was no alternative really than to sell him. If he can pull himself together, he can do great things, but he can be... childish at times. I mean, he's childish all the time. It is extremely stressful, to put it lightly, to work with him. He never really tried his hardest through the season, but he still did well, so I think he could be a legend."

SCFC is arguably the best team in Darmen, and with a good chance to be in the TQCC, there should be plenty expected of Hulk in his season there. Because of the player's huge wage demands, his contract has been set only to one year, and his future after that is uncertain. However, he would be gladly accepted back into the A Liga by several teams, so a return to Ocel0t could be on the cards.

It will be a loss for Esporte Clube Porta, but coach Mendoza has justified the sale by claiming it will free up funds for another talented player. Hulk was also removed from the national side recently due to his behavior, and it is hoped he can mature and become a truly great player.

The Osarian Wave

A total of eight Osarian veterans, looking to spend their later years in a different league, have moved to various clubs in the A Liga. They will each bring valuable experience and skill into the league, and be sure to watch them all next season as they make the league even more competitive.

Sporting de Vila Reial, who found themselves a little too far down the table they they would have liked this last season, look to secure their spot and have taken a big step forward by signing Cameron Roberts. The 29-year-old right back is uncapped for Osarius, but has always been on the fringe of a call-up.

The big surprise of last season, Esporte Clube Albacera, looks to cement their place in the top four, and they are looking dangerous for next season with new signing Robin Deckford from Grasshoppers Turic. The 31-year-old, also a right back, fell out of favor at his old club, but is still a very valuable asset. With a total of 26 international caps for the tough Osarius national side, he will be depended on to lead Albacera to glory in the next season.

Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao can be quite satisfied with their transfers so far as they managed to sign internationally-capped Hope Peranio and Cassandra Palacios, both as free agents. After a disappointing season where the team missed out on international competitions entirely, this is an excellent step forward. 32-year-old Hope Peranio, with 24 international caps and 4 goals, will be looked on to lead the team next season, and plenty should be expected of her as she is paired with Cassandra Palacios. 33-year-old Palacios performed well alongside Peranio at Hastmead, so they should be a deadly pair next season.

37-year-old Calvin Harris may be old, but he has been one of the most consistent goalscorers in Osarian history, still managing 7 goals in 15 appearances for Real Jraxville last season. He will be expected to provide a spark for the offense next season, which was unarguably the weakest point in the team.

The "big three" clubs have been spending as well, as Draga Portamonense brought in skilled 30-year-old Luke Woods from Renneville. Although the speedy striker never flourished on the international scene, with 24 caps and 7 goals, he scored goals for fun in the Osarius second division last season, and he will be the serpent's main attacking drive next season. It is expected he will link up well with the midfield at the team, so expect plenty of goals next season.

Esporte Clube Porta are not to be outdone, however, as they have shown by signing 28-year-old forward Christine Sullivan as a free agent. She comes as an excellent replacement for the troublesome Givani Hulk, who left for Scott City FC, and is expected to impress as she aims to make the national team for one last time.

Fiorentino Rigo have also been busy, signing 29-year-old Reece Anderson from Firewood City as a skilled and competent partner for the young goal machine Fico. Cissé has been very inconsistent and Kjaer has had trouble with injuries, so Anderson will play a vital role in Fiorentino's attack next season. Although he can be inconsistent, the striker is a great talent and can dominate the pitch on his best days. Fiorentino finished in second last season, but still 9 points behind champions Draga, and Anderson is expected to help the team win the crown.

Mangolana duo move to A Liga

Defenders Wess Salens and Kurt Wallen are the latest players brought into the A Liga as the teams prepare for the second season. Although neither are internationally capped, they will bring experience as they have played in the Mangolana Super league, and we can expect plenty from them.

30-year-old Wess Salens has joined Albacera's ever-improving squad for a reported $6.5m from Mascona FC on a 3-year deal. He will be joining Osarian veteran Robin Deckford in the back line, which could now be one of the very best in the league. The defender was eager to leave his club after he fell foul with manager Albert Wananowski, and at Albacera he has a great chance to show his worth.

You wouldn't want to bet against Draga Portamonense winning the title again this season after they secured the signing of Kurt Wallen for $10m on a three year deal. "Big Dog" as they call him is renowned for his speed and defensive abilities, and will be a key factor in Draga's defense next season. Be sure to keep your eye on him, as he is expected to impress.

Beira sign Buckley

Beira are looking good for next season as they have signed Mangolana international Brent Buckley for a reported $9m on a two-year deal. The 22-year-old central defender has had several serious injury problems in the past, including tearing his rotator cuff and breaking his arm, and he is currently recovering from surgery for a blood clot in his leg. However, he is nearly ready to play again, and it is expected he will only miss one month into the season. At still a young age and very talented, much is expected of him, and some say he could be a contender for the player of the season.

Team Previews

International players are in italics

Image
Draga Portamonense
Nickname: The serpents
City: Porta
Stadium: Estadio de Draga (58,784)
Sponsor: Happy Farms (food products)
Manager: Ivan Kowzolski
Formation: 3-1-2-3-1
Starting XI: Gorduchev (C), Wallen, Marx-Bradley, Xú, Busch, Guarcouff, Ostergaard, Touré, Yamamoto, Wölf, Woods
Subs: Sérgio Pinto, Lügano, Makalakalane, Theodorakis, Nkulukutu, Palacious, Raül
Last season: 1st, TQCC
Awards: 1x UIG A Liga winner
Overview: With a few new international signings, the serpents are looking good for next season with an interesting mix of old and young, and have the best team on paper and on the field. Although they were disappointed in the TQCC and the GC, they should again be the favorite for the title. The league looks much more challenging this season though, so they'll feel a little more pressure for the top spot.
Prediction: 1st, TQCC

Image
Esporte Clube Porta
Nickname: The seasiders
City: Porta
Stadium: Lubrico Arena (67,946)
Sponsor: Lubrico (petroleum)
Manager: Carlo Mendoza
Formation: 4-3-3
Starting XI: Jara, Goyal, Gönül, Ortozo, Brandao, Ebondo, Cristian (C), Cartozo, Gonzalez, Sullivan, Ivanildo
Subs: Rivero, Bruno Marcos, Rui Castro, Schultz-Ecklund, Sissegnon, Zola, Jovanov
Last season: 3rd, GC
Awards: None
Overview: The seasiders look more threatening this season, with several seasoned veterans making the core of the team, but also some bright young stars coming through. We think the title chase will come down to the wire, but EC Porta might just have to wait longer for the title.
Prediction: 2nd, GC

Image
Fiorentino Rigo
Nickname: Las rayas
City: Porta
Stadium: Raul Mendelez Memorial Stadium (65,618)
Sponsor: 199BET (sports betting)
Manager: Andrea Luchesi
Formation: 3-2-3-2
Starting XI: Gomiz, Papadouplos (C), Assou-Bassong, Tunak, Enevoldsen, Silvo, Boateng, Qüaresma, Jee-Song, Anderson, Fico
Subs: Nowak, Turan, Illicevic, Sissoko, Jimenez, Cissé, Kjaer
Last season: 2nd, GC
Awards: None
Overview: Fiorentino have built a fine squad for this season, with a few internationals to make them even more threatening. However, just as in the past they suffer from a lack of squad depth in the midfield and offense, so they must pray that not too many big players get injured. Given their usual rough and aggressive (yet effective) style of play, it seems inevitable that a few major injuries will occur, so that may unravel them later in the season.
Prediction: 3rd, GC

Image
Clube Desportivo Rio Uniao
Nickname: The red and whites
City: Vallaloid
Stadium: Escobar Stadium (50,236)
Sponsor: Acel (electronics)
Manager: Laars Van Dijk
Formation: 3-5-2
Starting XI: Lemming, Salcida, Cruz, Goossəns, Peranio (C), Gignac, Palacios, Martinez, Ramirez, Denilson, Edu
Subs: Borges, Ōta, Lua-Lua, Artur, Kajiyama, Nandinho, Simpson
Last season: 5th
Awards: None
Overview: Last season the royals were beaten to 4th place by an impressive Albacera side, and although their squad remains relatively unchanged, they have brought in two experienced internationals from Osarius, Peranio and Palacios. Both are good players on their own, but it is expected that their partnership in midfield will be deadly, since they have worked together before, and they are expected to lead the team to fourth place. However, the team also suffers some defensive frailties since most of their defenders are very young, so that could undo them.
Prediction: 4th, GC

Image
Esporte Clube Albacera
Nickname: Los marineros
City: Albacera
Stadium: DigiTV Stadium (48,452)
Sponsor: DigiTV (television broadcasting)
Manager: Geraldo Seville
Formation: 4-4-2
Starting XI: Kingston, Deckford (C), Ortega, Salens, Mambo Mumba, Kobayashi, Medo, Yambassu, Contreras, Santin, Guadarrama
Subs: De la Cruz, Bocanegra, Muñoz, Ebengo, Pablo Martinez, Lima, Halilhodžić
Last season: 4th, GC
Awards: None
Overview: Albacera have a solid squad built for this season, with not too many big names, but reliable players nonetheless. They did extremely well last season to secure 4th spot, and they are very serious contenders to do so again, with definitely one of the tightest defenses in the league. They've brought in some good internationals themselves, but overall we think they'll fall short against Rio Uniao's Osarian midfield duo and claim fifth, though not by much.
Prediction: 5th

Image
Union Desportiva de Beira
Nickname: The green and whites
City: Beira
Stadium: OT&T Arena (45,224)
Sponsor: OT&T (communications)
Manager: Marco Leon
Formation: 4-3-2-1
Starting XI: Szesnech, Buckley, Coentras, Teixeira-Bilica, Adiyiah, Lopez, Gilberto (C), Mulumwingie, Gagné, Issa, Chellar
Subs: Janota, Ferreira, Zhōu, Benitez, Mata, Reo-Baker, Velo
Last season: 6th
Awards: None
Overview: Beira's team have gotten much better from last season, bringing in some young and talented internationals, but the rest of the league has gotten better too, so we think they'll end up in 6th, just like last season.
Prediction: 6th

Image
Sporting de Vila Reial
Nickname: Los royales
City: Vila Reial
Stadium: Estadio Royale (42,844)
Sponsor: Estrella Rivera (alcoholic beverages)
Manager: Thomas Kearney
Formation: 4-4-2
Starting XI: Kuznetsov, Roberts, Il-Jun, Yoba, Evaldo, Məmmədov, Llorente (C), Rossi, Bergressio, Zozo, Der Saag
Subs: Chago, Alvarez, Nakamura, Conceição, Tejada, Vanzetti, Serrano
Last season: 8th
Awards: None
Overview: Last season was disappointing for los royales, but with an improved squad we think they'll creep up the table to 7th. For now they may not be a challenger for GC spots, but if they keep improving they could be in the future. The team has no real outstanding players but works well as a unit, but a lack of squad depth in most areas could hurt them later in the season.
Prediction: 7th

Image
Futebol Clube Gijon
Nickname: The lions
City: Gijon
Stadium: Estadio Benito Hugo (43,124)
Sponsor: Beautica (cosmetics)
Manager: Dmitri Yarmolenko
Formation: 3-5-2
Starting XI: De Wit, Mexes, Moreno, Alvarez, Diarra, Salihovic, Odembu, Jesus Mendoz, da Costa, Harris (C), Bautista
Subs: Simic, Yemweni, Ortiz, Bertagnoli, Gomes, El Ackchaoui, Fleetwood
Last season: 7th
Awards: None
Overview: Gijon were a solid mid-table side last season, and we expect them to be so again and claim 8th. No real squad changes except the signing of 37-year-old Calvin Harris, and although he is skilled, he is old and only a short-term solution to their usual offensive ineptitude. They have a solid midfield and defense, but they may rely too heavily on Harris and they must hope he doesn't get injured.
Prediction: 8th

Image
Nacional Vallaloid
Nickname: The nationals
City: Vallaloid
Stadium: Estadio La Rosadinero (37,802)
Sponsor: Bigmart (department store chain)
Manager: Antonio Valero
Formation: 4-4-2
Starting XI: Angél, Chara, Senghor, Cahill, Wright-Williams, Dikala, Sanchez (C), Pedro Melo, Palazuelos, Dragza, Piiroja
Subs: Schou, Mercado, Montenegro, Diga, Barroca, Kalambay, Kargbo
Last season: 10th
Awards: None
Overview: Nacional had a season which surpassed expectations last season, and the team made some progress as a unit. Although they had no major international transfers in, they acquired some good young players from other teams in the league, so expect them to be a solid team in the mid-table pack. We think they'll claim 9th.
Prediction: 9th

Image
Desportivo Coimbra
Nickname: The checkers
City: Coimbra
Stadium: Estadio del Ambreri (31,348)
Sponsor: O-C0la (soft drinks)
Manager: Mario Ricci
Formation: 4-4-2
Starting XI: Cesare, Diallo, Sanchez, Mendoza (C), Zünzünəgui, Marquês, Köse, Makele, Diallo, Alexandrov, Sougou
Subs: Baptiste, Muntari-Badu, Colombo, Reyes, Kawata, de Leon, Lukaki
Last season: 11th
Awards: None
Overview: Nothing much has changed with the checkers, so we think they'll pretty much be where they were last season. They rely a bit too much on young talent, and the pressure might get to them against bigger teams, but they should be fine against lower ones.
Prediction: 10th

Image
Esporte Clube Olhao
Nickname: The daisies
City: Olhao
Stadium: Estadio del Isla (34,612)
Sponsor: Mitch's Meats (meats)
Manager: Vladimir Antonin
Formation: 3-5-2
Starting XI: Almeida, Van Jessen, Menez (C), Abdoulaye, Paluvychenko, Lopez, Əmirquliyev, Barusso, Muhammad, Banković, Torrano
Subs: Linner, Warnock, Phillips, Ademi, Mabwati, Sonou, Krasec
Last season: 9th
Awards: None
Overview: Nothing has changed at Olhao in the off-season, so we think they might suffer and slip to 11th place.
Prediction: 11th

Image
Centro Desportivo de Callao
Nickname: The flags
City: Callao
Stadium: Estrella Rivera Arena (30,286)
Sponsor: Estrella Rivera (alcoholic beverages)
Manager: Leonardo Chevroli
Formation: 4-3-3
Starting XI: Coundoul, Ibáñez, García (C), Perez, Agyemang, Carvalho, Conti, Abbonda, Lopes, Sanvezzo, Jackson-Harper
Subs: Eggertsson, Onu, Varao, Araujo, De Huuyer, Morel, Turnbull
Last season: 13th
Awards: None
Overview: We think Callao got a tad unlucky last season when they were almost relegated, but the league is tougher this season and Chevroli has had no funds for squad improvement. Expect them to be in a relegation dogfight, but we think they'll make it another season.
Prediction: 12th

Image
Sporting Clube de Oliveira
Nickname: The two-stripes
City: Oliveira
Stadium: Estadio Bearritz (33,452)
Sponsor: Autozona (automobile repair)
Manager: Marco di Pietri
Formation: 4-4-2
Starting XI: Juhász, Domínguez, McEardley, Runsewe, Andrade, Zakuani, Sosa (C), Ruiz, Suzuki, Moldovan
Subs: Fleury-Fontaine, Diaz, Dalgaard, Watanabe, Awaka, Hamasaki, Neves
Last season: 2nd, B Liga
Awards: None
Overview: Although they were just promoted, Oliveira have put together a pretty good squad and we think they might survive and maybe even be the big surprise of this season.
Prediction: 13th

Image
Universitario de Vallaloid
Nickname: Los estudiantes
City: Vallaloid
Stadium: University Stadium (33,910)
Sponsor: 199BET (sports betting)
Manager: Carlos Iguazzire
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Starting XI: del Piero, Abdul Rehwal, Morales (C), Hämmächer, Seeler, Alyabyev, Ward, Idrissao, Alex, Macgena, Figuerao
Subs: Holmen, Vongphakdy, Baranzano, Escobar, Raposo, Mägi, Cabore
Last season: 1st, B Liga
Awards: None
Overview: Also just promoted, we think los estudiantes have put together a fine squad of players from the second division, although it might just not be enough
Prediction: 14th, relegated

Image
Sport Club Madiera
Nickname: Los isleños
City: Madiera
Stadium: Puerto Estadio (25,062)
Sponsor: Oskar Mayor (meats)
Manager: Gonzalo Soldado
Formation: 4-4-2
Starting XI: Pizano, Camara, Rubio, Kōda, Nworuh, Vassilijev (C), Marín, Ilunga, Torres, Sämi, Pjetraj
Subs: Bergkamp, Moore, Yamaguchi, Martin, Bonnet, Kiss, Ahjupera
Last season: 12th
Awards: None
Overview: Things don't look so good for los isleños, and we think they were lucky to stay up last season. They'll probably be in the B Liga before too long.
Prediction: 15th, relegated

Image
Academica Clube Porta
Nickname: Los academicos
City: Porta
Stadium: Estadio Academica (38,680)
Sponsor: Mario's Pizza (pizza)
Manager: Bertrand Malvolio
Formation: 4-4-2
Starting XI: Santos, Taylor-Campbell, Wood, Hernandez, Jamarauli, Mouyokandjo, Goma (C), Flores, Lebedev, Konan, del Rosario
Subs: Akloul, Quispe, Kimwata, Aldridge, Poikakissa, Kuponek, Raso
Last season: 3rd, B Liga
Awards: None
Overview: After losing a few key players that led to their promotion, it looks like los academicos's stay in the A Liga will be short, and we think they'll finish dead last.
Prediction: 16th, relegated

Draga sign Busch

Draga Portamonense have squeezed in one last vital signing before the start of the season, signing Tony Busch from Arsar for a reported $12m on a four-year deal. The 27-year-old was a starter for the Erathi club before being offloaded, and will be expected to play a big role in Draga's upcoming season. Much is expected of him as he replaces the talented Christos Spyopolous, who was sold to Yastrabi at the end of last season. Busch will be taking up a defensive midfield role, his same position in his time at Arsar, and will also be expected to be a role model for the young team.

Draga now have a very talented squad assembled, and Busch will play alongside Osarian striker Luke Woods and Mangolana defender Kurt Wallen in the starting lineup, as well as several prominent Ocel0t internationals.
