WAC ROUNDUP: OFF SEASON TRANSACTIONS

Grand National Series

-AWR has released Simo Hayha and will only field two cars this season, presumably to save money to aquire a high profile free agent at the end of the year. Sources speculate that they would go after Greg Schafer, Parker Langford, or Zach Whitt.

-James Davis Racing has seen Greg Woodard leave for the independent team Patriot Racing, hailing from Sucrati. It is unlikely that they will field a second car this season.

-Patriot Racing aquires Greg Woodard. He will drive alongside fellow countryman Michael Dougly.

-Holden Motorsport has released H. W. Guy.

-Shinbaum Motorsports is currently negotiating a contract with would-be second year driver Aqunii Hyu'Tojerii. The deal would keep ASMVegan in the number 23 for the next two years, valued at $600,000.

Thomas Murray: I'm not returning to rallying

Ex rallying champion and current stock car racer Thomas Murray has exclusively told WSPN on the Times that he is not returning to rallying and that he would return for another season in the Whittoria Auto Club.

"My life is stock car racing now; I've won five titles at rallying and it would be boring to keep winning the same - I'm looking for a challenge, not a washover" he said. "I'm not returning to rallying".

Whether Murray will continue his contract at McKenzie Racing is unknown; he only signed onto them for the season. He has stated that he will stay at McKenzie, while others believe that he will leave for a rival team. In everyone of his five titles, Murray always signed a contract to race for the season, not for several, and was constantly switching teams. He has helped regenerate several teams which were struggling, with those teams being able to find new talent.

Murray finished 25th out of 33, however it is only because he entered late. McKenzie Racing were desperately looking for another driver and seeing Murray as a man with five rallying titles, took him on. He has left a mark, a bit small though, although hopes for a win.

"A title in stock car racing would probably be something; sports car racing would be up next, then one-seaters - I want to be the first guy to win a title in every major motorsport and I don't care if I'm 100 when I do it".
