1- Roberto BENNEDETTO (Team: FC Mildrid) - VICE-CAPTAIN
Height: 196cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 18 years old
Roberto Bennedetto is regarding by many to be the next great keeper in Erathore. From a very young age it was evident that he was exceptionally skilled at his position. At the age of 9 he was recruited by the FC Mildrid youth team and started in the junior squad. 6 years later he was moved up to the actual Mildrid team for the upcoming season opening game against the then #3 club Manlio. It was immediately evident just how skilled he was. He made several spectacular saves and blocked every single shot. He only gave up one goal and that was a penalty, of which he faced two that night, blocking one. He was offered a position at Juvillian Martinax but stayed with his childhood club.

12- Alessio Affonso GALIGILYGANO (Team: Juvillian Martinax) –INJURED
Height: 190.5cm - Weight: 87kg – Age: 28 years old
Galigilygano has been considered one of the greatest keepers to play in Erathore after his spectacular cleansheet against the then leading club of Baritiada four years ago. He prefers to pull of saves that are he deems to be comfortable and not too risky, but if a more spectacular save is necessary he will not hesitate to perform it. Galigilygano is reluctant to challenge an enemy offender due to him having broken 3 ribs in his first professional game that saw him missing a few games. He has played for Juvillian Martinax for all of his professional career, which has been around 8 years. He has been placed as a sub due to a major injury he is just recovering from.

2- Ermanno GAVINO Amedo (Team: Arro)
Height: 179cm – Weight: 73kg – Age: 27 years old
Gavino belongs to one of the minor clubs so it came as a surprise to Erathore when he was appointed to the national team, and then again when he was placed as starter. It’s not as if he isn’t up to the task however, he is a very skilled and talented player. He does appear to be more concerned with how he looks on the camera over the practicality of his moves, as he is unaccustomed to so much attention. This leads to him making many spectacular and last minute tackles and steals. However, averaging a yellow a game, his method is not too clean.

13- NARAZO Del Pietro (Team: Drago de Celio)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 67kg – Age: 25 years old
Narazo Del Pietro is a player who can play both sides of the field, although he prefers to play on the right side. More often then not, his passes are sloppy but still reach his targets by some miracle, making him one the target for many friendly jokes by his teammates, who love him due to his smiling, joking, all around good natured personality. His coaches don’t however, as he always seems to brush off his errors, although he secretly, or at least he thinks he is, practices what he has been criticized for.

3- Fredrico MANLIO (Team: Manlio)
Height: 185cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 22 years old
Fredrico Manlio is the great-grandson of Diauiditori Manlio, the great striker of Erathore and founder of the Manlio football club. However there are some on the team who resent him for his connection to Manlio. Despite the immense pressure that comes with this relationship, Fredrico performs very well, almost flawlessly.

14- Santo VINCENZO Amadore(Team: Juvillian Martinax)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 73kg – Age: 32 years old
A smart player, Cotuba is a player that loves to go to the attack, and is good in dribbling and excellent at passing, being good at making assists too. One of his major flaws in game is his inability to hit the long ball accurately. Outside the pitch, he likes to party and spread himself around with women. This, although being good for his ego, has resulted in much of the team taking a negative approach to working with him.

Central Defenders:

4- Barino DINO (Team: FC Mildrid)
Height: 180 - Weight: 79kg - Age: 24 years old
Barino Dino is the best defender in Erathore as exemplified by him being named Defender of the Year in this past season and coming in 5th place for the same award two seasons ago. He is fast, strong, and plays to win. Hopes are high for him as he makes his international debut in this World Cup.

15- Mariano ALBERICO (Team: EMI FC)
Height: 189cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 27 years old
Alberico is not a clean footballer. Given his brief stint in the military, he likes to argue with officials and players from the other team. A lot. This has resulted in many a yellow and the occasional red. However he produces results so he is kept on the team. The main drawback of Alberico is his occasional bouts with anxiety about having to go toe to toe with an offender from the other team. This results in him breaking out in a massive sweat and kicking the ball away from him. Despite this, he plays hard and plays to win.

5- NERO Remo (Team: Elidoro FC)
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 23 years old
Nero has been trained to be a top footballer since his youth, participating in most of the youth high level club teams of the country. Even though he had the misfortune of always landing on a losing team during that age, in the professionals he has taken Elidoro FC into the La Leaugia Seriea-A and into the top 10 teams at that. Off the field, Nero can be found reading to classical music on one of Erathore’s beaches.

16- Vanni DEL NARAN (Team: Charzzan)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 73kg – Age: 20 years old
Since being placed on the national team, Naran has found that his domestic and international game have improved immensely. Even though he is still a sub, he will be played much more frequently.

Defensive Midfielders:

6- EMLIO Fredrico(Team: CR Submiria-Churchma)
Height: 170cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 30 years old
Emlio is a player that loves to play the game. He trains everyday, wears his jersey around the house and has been known to sleep in it from time to time. As a player, he works as a second defensive midfielder, with more freedom to go to the attacks, mostly due to his ability in controlling the ball and making precise passes. His favored and most classic move is performing a backwards pass with his heel after catching the ball on a bounce.

17- BLAKE Fedele (Team: Vincanto)
Height: 179cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 37 years old
Blake has been playing for Vincanto since the first youth team was created, and seems satisfied with the substitute role, as he often gets playing time for being a very trustworthy person and good at holding the ball and strictly following tactics. He excels at seeing one of his teammates making a long break before they themselves make the break. A fine choice for this position, he does this unlike any other. This is to be his last international season and he hopes that it goes smoothly.

8- Miguel SILVIA (Team: Sparta FC-FSSO)
Height: 182cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 22 years old
Silvia is widely regarding as one of the greatest passers and assisters in Erathore’s history. With the number of assists in triple digits, it’s hard to deny. In his most famous assist, he shot at the goal from 23yd out, only to reveal that his target had been the crossbar. The ball ricocheted and landed at the feet of the Dubor striker who pounded it in for the goal. Off the field, Silvia likes to study geometry. He is also amazing at Pascal’s Triangle.

18- FIORELLO Lupes (Team: Resolute Storm 1913 FC-Polar Islandstates)
Height: 185cm – Weight: 78kg – Age: 27 years old
Fiorello likes to listen to heavy metal while training, is capable of bending the ball, although to a very limited extent, and argues very loudly with referees. Despite his tall stature and aforementioned attributes, he has beautiful footwork with the ball. Weaving the ball above, around, and under the opponent.

Attacking Midfielders:

7- Alexio Del NIERAN (Team: Dunboor FC-Cafundéu) -CAPTAIN
Height: 181cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 21 years old
Alexio is a quiet and respectful footballer. He enjoys training whilst listening to dubstep and classical music. He is equally adapt at offense and defense. He is always respectful to the referees, calmly and rationally arguing with them and if proven wrong he apologizes to, and then thanks the referee. He has been compared to an artist creating a masterpiece on the field and it is evident why. He is widely credited with being the most proficient at bending the ball in Erathore. This has caused many a keeper to scramble and fail to save his ball that curves first one way then another. He recently returned to FCM from Krytenian club Avidia United, where he lead them to a record breaking first place finish.

11- ANTONIO Casento (Team: Astria Yaburi)
Height: 182cm - Weight: 77kg - Age: 23 years old
Antonio Casento is the first Seria-C player to be appointed to the national team and he is well up to the task. He is widely praised for his sheer speed and skill throughout Erathore. Unfortunately for him, he plays CAM, which is the same as Alexio Del Nieran, who is easily the starter.

Attackers:

9- Gaspare MALVOLIO (Team: Juvillian Martinax)
Height: 177cm – Weight: 75kg – Age: 26 years old
Malvolio is the fastest footballer in Erathore. When he was 13 years old he posted a 4.54 40-yd dash and has continually improved that to wear he runs a 2.56 on a bad day and a 2.14 on a good one. He has impressive dribbling skills to match that speed as well. He doesn’t have powerful shots though, he prefers to lure the goalkeeper into a challenge so he can humiliate the keeper by nutmegging him for the goal.

10- LUCIFER Andrea (Team: Vicanto)
Height: 192cm – Weight: 85kg – Age: 26 years old
Lucifer is a jack of all trades, master of none. He is not particularly strong in any area, nor is he weak. While this does lead to a well-balanced player it does not lead to a particularly powerful player. He is a very cheery player though and he has developed the habit of smiling at his opposition before he makes a move.

19- FranCESC Celestino Sergio(FC Mildrid)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 75kg – Age: 18
Francesc Celestino Sergio is the new face of football in Erathore. Thanks to a rather successful international footballing win-loss ratio, the domestic game has been supercharged and the results are showing. Impressive coaching, many new public fields, and much more have come together to encourage the new breed of national team players. Francesc is the first of the new breed. A product of the FC Mildrid Youth Academy and a promising striker, Sergio already has a year of experince in professional footballing under his belt, albeit it was with Seria-C team Erathore National Football Club. He led them to a #4 finish, scoring 11 goals on the way. This attracted his home club, FC Mildrid, who signed him on for a 5-year contract. He has scored 2 goals and was named player of the week during his debut game against Drago de Celio.

20- Michelangelo De MERICCI (Team: Directus FC-FSSO)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 27 years old
Mericci is one of the most powerful shooters on the team. He is capable of ripping them past the keeper from 40yd out although he rarely does that in a game. He does not boast impressive dribbling and relies on passes from teammates to score. Recently his international playing form has taken a tremendous dive, which has resulted in him being put down as a sub/reserve.

1- Martin TAMMARO (Team: Starentina United) –VICE-CAPTAIN
Height: 196cm - Weight: 87kg – Age: 24 years old
Garrido has always been considered a very talented goalkeeper, so his rise to the National Team was extremely quick and not particularly surprising. He spent his early years at minor clubs before signing up with Starentina United and he hasn’t looked back yet. He is well mannered and popular with managers, players, and fans.

12- Agusto AMANDO (Team: FC Arsenal)
Height: 192cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 27 years old
The mildly psychotic goalkeeper gets his chance in the National Team. He has had a good career so far minus the fact he has a tendency to pick up red cards at a faster rate then most defenders. Amando is known for his eccentric behavior, his taunting dribbles and step-overs past opposing strikers, and most importantly, his remarkable reaction saves.

19- Vitale CURRO (Team: Ustbela)
Height: 189cm – Weight: 78kg – Age: 18 years old
Vitale Curro is another young player to be placed on the National Squad and, like the others, he is up to the task. He is a very devoted keep except for his inability to punch out the high balls. He prefers to catch them but he doesn’t always have that choice and it costs the game sometimes.

Right Defenders:

2- Silvio TERZO(Team: Levoro)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 66kg – Age: 22 years old
Terzo is one of the best defenders in Starorentia so it came as no surprise when he was called up. Extremely fast with excellent and creative passes, Silvio Terzo is as important at initiating a counterattack as he is as a defender. He won’t win any aerial battle awards soon, and can sometimes find it difficult to mark opponents. He makes up for this by having a great natural ability to block shots.

13- Andreas MARCHIO(Team: Real Miro)
Height: 174cm – Weight: 69kg – Age: 27 years old
Andreas Marchio is a player a multi role defender who can play both sides of the field and the center. He has good short-range passes but is not particularly accurate when it comes to the longer passes. He has great footwork but not the speed to back it up.

3- Ruggiero GIORGIO (Team: Asgard)
Height: 183cm - Weight: 79kg – Age: 28 years old
Ruggiero Giordio plays exactly as his name suggests. Rugged. Slide tackling is an art that he has mastered and performs every game. His passing is crisp, his dribbling is creative, and his defending is marvelous. Giorgio will not give up and keeps going and going and going.

14- Primo PANCRAZIO Amadore(Team: Starentia City)
Height: 184cm – Weight: 84kg – Age: 30 years old
A smart player, Amadore is a player that loves to go to the attack, and is good in dribbling and excellent at passing, being good at making assists too. One of his major flaws in game is his inability to hit the long ball accurately. Outside the pitch, he likes to party and bed a new women every week. This, although being good for his ego, has resulted in much of the team taking a negative approach to working with him.

4- Robinho SERGIO Marseto(Team: FC Arsenal)
Height: 181cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 24 years old
Robinho Sergio Marseto isn’t the fastest defender, nor the most stylish with his footwork. He has good passing but nothing praiseworthy. And yet he is one of the best in Starorentia at protecting the goalkeeper at stopping the opposition’s attack.

15- Bolivar ALFIERI (Team: Real Kak)
Height: 181cm - Weight: 78kg – Age: 35 years old
Bolivar Alfieri has been playing since he was naught but a toddler. He has played for 20 seasons with and against the best Starorentia can throw at him and this has resulted in a player that can handle all sorts of different scenarios. Excellent passing, both long and short, good speed, great ball control, passable slide tackling, and amazing standing tackles make up Alfieri.

Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 24 years old
Sevreriano has always been a fast and aggressive player. Chistiano Ronbininho is a magnificent player in his young age. He is immensely creative in his dribbling and his creation of shot opportunities for himself and for his teammates. He is lightning fast and posses’ quick reflexes. His main weakness is his love for attention and his showboating. These two combine to make him take many unnecessary risks and overtly fancy moves.

Cirino Leone Gianmarco is the product of a child raised from infancy to be a football star. Starting when he could crawl he could be found with a football with him. This progressed as he joined the FC Arsenal Young Gun squad where he excelled with Arsenal senior squad and National squad teammate Francesc David Fabregassi. Fast, powerful, creative dribbling, and a strong shot come together to produce a real threat as a goalscorer and an assister.

Leone Espiridión is not the fastest or strongest player on the field, nor is he the best dribbler. This results in him effortlessly passing an opponent and giving a through ball to a teammate who is just about to make a run.

He played the beautiful game intermittently before being picked up by a prominent youth club. From here he was picked up by FC Arsenal where has excelled for 5 years.

The fact that that the 17 year old is on the National Team as a starter is a praise to his skill and power as a footballer. Francesc Lionel Fabregassi is credited with being the best footballer in Starorentia due to his speed, his dribbling, power, and accuracy. He is perfectly capable of getting the ball at half-field from a teammate, out dribbling opposing defenders as he races down the fields at impressive speeds, pulling a fake shot to send the keeper to the ground, then neatly lobbing it over his head for the goal. His knack for finding goals is amazing and it helps him atat FC Arsenal. He has been with the FC Arsenal squad since he was 16. Before that, from 10 years old to 16 he played for the FC Arsenal Young Gun Youth Squad. Whilst he was there he won the Starorentia Youth Squad National Championships all 6 years, being the highest goal scorer two times. At 17 years of age, his room for improvement, yes improvement, is frightening.

20- Lucifer Anati FABIANO (Team: Asgard)
Height: 192cm – Weight: 85kg – Age: 25 years old
Lucifer is a jack of all trades, master of none. He is not particularly strong in any area, nor is he weak. While this does lead to a well-balanced player it does not lead to a particularly powerful player. He is a very cheery player though and he has developed the habit of smiling at his opposition before he makes a move, which is an unfortunate telling signal that has taken away some opportunities for him to score.

Giovanni Alonso is a specialized player, the polar opposite of Lucifer Andrea Fabiano. This specialization is the long shot as he lacks the speed needed to break into the penalty box. He doesn’t have creative dribbling but he has perfected the fake shot, which he uses at the 18-yard to fake the keeper into going one way before blasting it into the net.

remibref (m, Bonang City, 53, coach)

A quiet but authoritive figure who is highly respected for his tactical nous and for his understanding of his players. He spent his playing career with Deddick, mainly as a midfielder but also lending support to their defence. He was an occasional senior player in Deddick's 2167 premiership year and was a valuable contributor in their 2175 win. On retiring after the 2179 season he was quickly snapped up by the 10th placed Bonang City as their coach. His record there has been outstanding: 2183 - 8th; 2187 - 5th; 2191 - 2nd; 2195 - Premiers; 2199 - third.

remibref is easily recognised by his limp and distinctive walking cane. He incurred the injury when he fell out of a friend's housetree, a commonplace event in Errinundera.

Captain

mireyu (f, Ootopia, 19, striker)

Nick-named "The Assassin" (she's a deadly shot), mireyu was a shock selection as captain of the national side at only 19 years of age. Clearly the selectors are building this team for future World Cup campaigns. The ice cool mireyu showed leadership potential in her junior years and quickly established her credentials when signed up by Ootopia. In her first full season with the club, she thrilled observers with her blinding speed, powerful and accurate kicking, and her ability to read the play.

mireyu's background is somewhat unusual. She grew up on the distant Cuttlefish Island and was orphaned at nine years of age when her family was murdered in a crime syndicate vendetta. Brought to Errinundera by her uncle, mireyu impressed local talent scouts who promptly recommended her for the Ootopia Football Club youth training program. She is currently studying Forensic Research Methods at the Dreamtime Institute in Rooty Break.

Vice-Captain

setoro (m, Bally Hooley, 29, midfielder)

Captain of reigning EFA champions, Bally Hooley, and, apart from his obvious skills, has been chosen to help develop mireyu's leadership abilities. He has a well deserved reputation as a no-nonsense, thinking utility player who excels as the engine room for his domestic club. When he retires from football, setoro has a career in robotic programming ahead of him.

Deputy Vice-Captain

shinobu (f, Milosis, 31, defender)

Respected captain of her club, shinobu is an outstanding strategist and is also notable for her off-field leadership abilities. On the field, she is the creative source for many of her teams forward thrusts. She is one of four members of the potoroos who have qualifications in the field of robotics.

bundhai (f, Delegate, 16) - Former homeless kid from the slums of Delegate who amazed a local talent scout passing by a game of asphalt football. bundhai excelled in Delegate's junior development program and joins two other sixteen year olds in the national squad, no doubt as part of its long term development. Like her captain, bundhai is a fast mover and a powerful and accurate kick. She is also reputedly a sound / colour synaesthete.

kannami (m, Deddick, 18) - One of three teenage strikers in the squad (including the captain), kannami is noted for his aerial abilities, having scored more headers in the 2199 EFA season than any other player.

kanoota (f, McKillops Bridge, 25) - Noted for her prodigious athletic skills and her extreme level of fitness, kanoota pretty well single-handedly led the McKillops Bridge attack in 2199 following major injuries to team mates. Excelling under trying circumstances and topping the goal kicking table in the EFA led to her selection in the national squad.

klansee (f, Kanooka Creek, 28) - Single minded and ruthless player who famously said of football, "It's not sightseeing, it's combat". Her 32 goals in the 2199 domestic season were a major factor in Second Division club Kanooka Creek's earning a promotion to the Premier League for next season. As the senior striker in the team much responsibility will rest upon her shoulders although it remains to be seen if she can handle the higher standard of competition. Clearly, the selectors believe she can.

vikroleni (f, Malinns, 25) - Known as "the Sniper" for her long distance pinpoint passes, vikroleni is another of the ice cool female strikers in the side. She is the skillful captain of a team of triers in Malinns and is expected to blossom now that she has the opportunity to play alongside more talented footballers.

Midfield

anasant (m, Bonang Hillside, 27) - Otherwise crafty and skillful midfielder who occasionally lets his emotions govern his judgment. Nevertheless, his good work over several seasons with Hillside have earned him a spot in the national squad. When not playing football, anasant is the proprietor of a karaoke bar in Bonang and is the honorary secretary of the Refugee Action Collective (Bonang Chapter) who help newly arrived refugees settle into Errinundera.

arrosei (m, First Creek Falls, 30) - Clinical tactition and stylish player who has developed a good understanding with vanessu at First Creek Falls.

nikuri (f, Mount Ellery, 19) - Watchers of old World Cup footage of the one-time Errinundrian captain keok always comment how much they are reminded of the the young nikuri. A nuggety and chirpy player, she is always to be found in the centre of traffic on the ground. She is currently studying gyrocopter engineering at the Underground University in Mount Ellery, which is odd given there are no aircraft in Errinundera.

ricardoo (m, Cabanandra, 33) - Something of a surprise selection given that Cabanandra are not a football power in the EFA. A steady and reliable player who will add much needed experience to the youthful lineup. ricardoo is a sniffer wombat handler when is isn't playing football.

vanessu (f, First Creek Falls, 25) - One of the up and coming stars in the First Creek Falls side that has local pundits expecting big things. She and arrosei have developed am uncanny onfield understanding. Off field they even work together - for a multi-national investment company (an unusual occupation in Errinundera, to say the least). Rumours of a personal relationship were scotched when both players declared they were gay.

yamamo (f, Bukkenmungie, 16) - Another of the surprising selections that has all of Errinundera abuzz. Mind you, her credentials are impeccable: not only is she a junior football star, she is just as capable at basketball and swimming, and holds the national under 17 record for the 100 metre sprint. yamamo is one of two high school students in the team and attends the East Limestone Caves Secondary College.

ilshai (m, Bola Mine, 28) - One of three defenders from the Hawks in a selection strategy that has proven to be controversial within Errinundera. Bola Mine may have finished in the top two in each of the past three seasons but their strategy has been built on outgunning their opponents, not restricting them. The three are sometimes described as peas in pod: methodical, deadly serious, and absolutely single-minded in achieving victory. Perhaps the selectors are trying to inculcate the team with the Bola Mine winning spirit.

jeanep (m, Bola Mine, 29) - Clinical, sometimes brutal, backman who is part of the formidable group from Bola Mine known as "the Handlers". The get their name partly because all three are sniffer wombat handlers but also for they way they keep their opponents on a tight leash. Close checking and tackling is their way. jeanep lacks the flair of his younger brother, josep, but also makes fewer errors

josep (m, Bola Mine, 27) - Not as disciplined as his older brother but blessed with greater skills and a greater intuition of his opponents' abilities, josep is probably the most capable defender of the three Hawks. Interestingly, not only are all three sniffer wombat handlers but they are also volunteers with the Bola Mine Child Welfare Co-operative. Forwards, sniffer wombats, children - maybe there's a connection there.

najikeve (f, Bally Hooley, 24) - Voted by her peers as the most valuable player in the EFA in 2199, najikeve's selection comes without the brouhaha that accompanied her counterparts from Bola Mine. Where setoro is the engine room for the Bally Hooley midfield, najikeve is the heart and soul of the most miserly defence in the association. In her spare time she runs a cafe famous for its coffee blends.

pietrif (m, Puggaree, 31) - Quiet achiever who had a brilliant season in 2191 when Puggaree finished 4th - easily their best ever year. Sadly, injury has meant he has only been able to play intermittently since then. Being free of injury in the latter part of the 2199 season allowed him to play a major part in Puggaree avoiding relogation as well as giving all of us the chance to see what we have missed since 2191. Works as a magisterial investigator, ie does the leg work when a magistrate conducts an investigation.

Goalkeeping

haintsu (m, Amboyne Crossing, 35) - The selectors have chosen two veteran keepers and a youngster for the campaign. haintsu is a no-nonsense and clearsighted keeper whom many say is better than the team he has faithfully served over many years. Outside of football he is a member of the Amboyne Crossing Re-cycling Collective. Perhaps he doesn't like to see valuable things slip by?

mihairokon (m, Rodger River, 31) - What is with Errinundrian keepers and recycling rubbish? Yes, he is a member of the Rodger River Alternative Uses Union. And a pretty handy keeper to boot. Also like haintsu, mihairokon is considered to a cut above his team mates at Rodger River.

sumika (f, Bemm River, 16) - Yet another astonishing selection to the national squad - the third 16 year old and the second high school student. Like yamamo, sumika is a natural athlete - she's a national junior martial arts champion. She's also student president and dux of her year three years running at the Bemm River District 36 High School. When you meet her there's one thing you can't miss. As she so aptly puts it, "I'm 16 and 200 centimetres!" Yes, she is part of a tradition of beanpole keepers in Errinundrian World Cup squads. Don't be fooled, though - she moves like someone about two thirds her height.

Once again Mossulia stupidly dive bombs head first into another world cup. What keeps us entering these? Mossulia are quite possibly the worst team in the world. We lost 13-0 to Delaclava once. That is quite literally the biggest defeat any team has suffered. Yet somehow we are the complete worst team in the world. Of course we aren't the best but 98th place isn't too bad considering we didn't even send anyone to play in the last two. Now I think though it is time to let Dr. Fruitystine to take control. And why yes we don't actually pay attention to sport, or like it in fact.

MYTANAR NATIONAL SQUAD.

GKs.
1. Teddy Jakobsen, aged 34 (Atletik Thessia).
The calm and controlled goalkeeper for the most successful Mytanar football team. The Atletik goalkeeper has only conceded twenty-two goals this season and he is one of the key-parts of the well-oiled Thessia machine. As he comes towards the end of his career, you'd expect his reflexes to become slightly slower - but they are still as brilliant as ever and he still makes brilliant saves. If he's in-form, it'll be hard to score against him.

12. Jep Imago, 27 (Sydney Rovers, Mossulia).
Imago is the goalkeeper for Mossulian side, Sydney Rovers. He currently has 18 caps for the national team and was a key player in the World Cup 53 run that nearly left the national side in the World Cup proper at the first attempt, finishing narrowly fourth (the gap between 2nd and 4th was a couple of points). He is a good keeper who is known for his diving saves.

23. Rudi Holzman, aged 21 (1896 Ebor).
The young Eborian certainly is used to the cold conditions in Ebor. He has plenty of time still to develop, but his main problem may be road-games. He gets very homesick. However, when at home - his performances are brilliant, he is a commanding figure inbetween the sticks and always tells his defence what is needed to be done.

2. Adrian Njulae, aged 22 (SK Port Jarko).
Njulae is certainly a star. He has 32 international appearances even at the tender age of 21. He is a marauder down the left wing and gets goals regularly at club level by cutting inside onto his right-foot and curling the ball into the net. He has made over 175 appearances at club level, and it doesn't look like he will leave his club side anytime soon. His crossing is accurate and he is extremely quick.

13. Christian Parmova, aged 27 (1896 Ebor).
The 26 year old, is coming towards the height of his career. Although he is a more stay-at-home fullback than Njulae - he still retains a skill when going forward. He is reliable, and a tough tackler - not taking any prisoners. He is aggressive and prone to being booked for silly offences. He is still a good player however, and that is why Theo Wekkler has picked him for the national team.

CBs.
3. Speic Fyfat, aged 24 (Atletico Jutense, Cafundeu).
A big money move for the 23 year old came in 1989. Where he was transferred to Atletico Jutense of Cafundeu from FK Trunca, for a fee reported to be around 24 million vintems which is about M(C) 8 million (Myta Corun - the currency of Mytannion). He is tall, and strong - his heading saves the team regularly off set-pieces and he has scored two international goals this way. Meaning he is a threat at the other end too. He is quick, as most Mytanars tend to be - and a behemoth - making it hard to get past this tackling centre-back.

4. Ricky Aier, aged 29 (Litala '93).
Aier plays for an extremely unfashionable team, even though he is a top player for the national side. He is a slower defender, but his anticipation and tackling usually mean he doesn't need it. If he came up against a young, pacy striker and the team were playing balls in behind him - they'd be in trouble. He is clever, and inspirational - he normally gets the team going in the changing rooms. Although his musical taste leaves a lot to be desired.

14. Fahe Mahuc, aged 22 (Parr City).
A big money move for young Mahuc took him from Rotor. Argyres to the Moneybags of Parr City. The fee was around M(C) 12 million, and he has done brilliantly since he has moved to the Nastan side. He has the highest average tackles per game statistic of any player in any league in Mytannion and he is also extremely strong - and is good at holding onto the ball even when pressured.

15. Hannes Urz, aged 20 (Atletik Thessia).
Urz plays at right-back for his club and he does a brilliant job there for Atletik. However, he is naturally a centre-back and that is where Theo Wekkler has chosen to position him. Urz is a new-breed of centre-back, he isn't strong, a good tackler and good in the air. He is all of them, and more. He can go forward and create play, he is quick and has very good finishing - which is a sign as to why he has six goals this season in eighteen appearances at club level from right-back. His inexperience could be a problem, but it isn't expected to be. He plays with a maturity that a player with ten-plus years on him may not have.

5. Swen Kislasson, aged 22 (Olympique du Fontvielle, Valladares).
Kislasson is the next big-thing to move from a Mytanar club to Olympique du Fontvielle. The success of Miroslav Filo's move to OF is a testament to how big an impact Mytanar players/owners have made to the club in the past few seasons. He stays back and helps the defence and commands the team well. He is quick, and his long-range shooting is extraordinary - he is famed for blasting in 30+ yard free-kicks. He is extremely intelligent and can read the game before things have happened. He is strong and a good tackler meaning he is a near-perfect fullback.

16. Leven Koc, aged 19 (Hastmead Diamante CFC, Osarius).
Was the next big-thing out of the Thessia '23 academy, after they produced Filip Bosc - Leven Koc, was spotted playing in the Zenit Toranj district of the city. He is short, which could be a problem - as he isn't all that strong, but he has beefed up a lot over the past few seasons and has got significantly stronger. He has now moved on to Hastmead Diamante in Osarius, where his national side team mate - Niek van der Smeejin plays. His pace and desire to win games are the two things which have helped him become such an important player to the national side and will probably make him important for his new club side.

6. Jan Mufiak, aged 29 (SK Port Jarko).
Mufiak currently has four goals in eighteen games for his club side. Which is fairly good for a defensive midfielder, what makes him so important however is his drive, determination and tackling. He hates losing, and would do anything to win. He breaks up the play and then looks for the best pass and makes it near-enough every time. He can also make deep runs, arriving late into the box to head the ball into the net - and he does it regularly.

21. Niek van der Smeejin, aged 22 (Hastmead Diamante, Osarius).
Niek van der Smeejin is only 22 and yet is already a huge part of the national side. He is touted as a future national team captain and this is mainly because of his never-say-die attitude. He will not admit defeat and chases everything, even if it looks like it is a lost cause. He is a tough tackler, and is clever when he is on the ball - sprinting quickly and looking for good passes. He is a good crosser of the ball too and regularly runs out wide to dink a ball in, and can take good free-kicks.

CMs.
7. Robin Hjik, aged 21 (Atletik Thessia).
Only 21, and yet has 36 international appearances - the most by any player. He has also scored five goals, and is prolific from midfielder - normally making incisive runs past defenders and stroking the ball into the net. He is possibly the most important member of the national side. He is the captain, even at his tender age - and is the proudest member of the national side, belting out the anthem before every game. He is good going both ways and scores a lot of goals, whilst preventing a lot too.

8. Lenart Goricag, aged 26 (Decraa United).
Lenart Goricag is one of the most underrated players in Mytannion. He plays for a fairly good team in the domestic league, but he is their main man. He is a defensive central midfielder, who arrives late and volleys the ball in the net - sadly for his opponents, this happens a lot. He has made 29 appearances and has scored five goals, all five are either volleys or headers. He also has one red card, the only ever one a Mytanar player has received in international football. His tackling is occasionally mis-timed although it is normally perfect. What sets him aside from other players is his pin-point passing and timing, it is why he scores a lot of goals and also leads the assists charts.

18. Joep Bang, aged 39 (Atletik Thessia).
The legend that is Joep Bang is still going even at the age of 39. He has 31 international caps and one goal, and he still looks to be going strong. He wants to reach 50 caps before he retires. But that'd mean he'd have to start a whole lot of qualifiers. He is an old-fashioned warhorse, he runs, he tackles, he argues, he shoots and scores. He does what is needed to win games, and occasionally wins games by himself. He is the inspirational figurehead of the team and the younger players look upto him for advice.

19. Filip Bosc, aged 23 (Jan Mayen Islanders, Polar Islandstates).
Bosc has come into the side as a replacement for the injured Jukka Ritaile. Filip is a creative midfielder, who tends to play as a defensive midfielder. Theo Wekkler has picked him as a central midfielder. He plays deep and waits for the ball - he then spreads the play brilliantly. He is quite strong defensively too, he can break-up the play. He'd be prepared to play for any team abroad and he wants a chance to show his skills on a bigger stage. He signed for Jan Mayen Islanders, who play in Polar Islandstates - and is expected to help them to a title as one of their best players.

10. Andre Witterien, aged 28 (1896 Ebor).
Witterien played for Dukla Nastalich FK last season and he has now moved to high-flyers 1896 Ebor, who are in the title-hunt. He can pick passes where there is seemingly no opening. When he twists and turns it seems as if the ball is glued to his feet, his shooting is amazingly accurate and he could be a huge, huge player for the national side. He curls in free-kicks regularly, and he is a top goalscorer regularly in the domestic league.

17. Uwe Rosler, aged 25 (Decraa United).
The 25 year old was a bargain buy for Decraa from Carrickfinn Rangers. He was bought for the price of thirty tracksuits and now he is a huge player for United. He is pacy, and that is his main weapon - his movement and position also mean that he is a handful for defenders. He isn't the strongest of players, but he usually gives himself a step or two on his marker to move away from them. His finishing is top-class and he scores a lot of goals.

9. Radoslaw Famoc, aged 25 (Eldorado, Cafundeu).
Famoc is the top international goalscorer for Mytannion, he has 11 goals in 31 appearances meaning he averages approximately one goal every three games. He was much more prolific domestically, and now he has a move to Eldorado of Cafundeu. He cost his new team M(C) 36 million, which is the record Mytanar transfer fee. He hopes to justify this fee, and he should - his finishing and pace make for a lethal combination, he is also amazingly strong and good in the air. This makes him near-enough the complete package.

11. Miroslav Filo, aged 27 (Marinos Metropolis, Valladares).
Filo was a huge player for his old club side, and he also has an amazing goalscoring record internationally. He received the Silver Boot award for being the second-top goalscorer in the Valladar SuperLiga, with 22 goals in 38 appearances for Olympique du Fontvielle this past season - he has now moved to Marinos Metropolis for big money - and he hopes to continue his good form for his new club. Internationally, he has made seven appearances and has scored six goals. Nearly a goal a game record, he's a strong, athletic forward who can blast holes in defences with blistering, bustling runs. His finishing is calm and he has amazing composure.

20. Sami Wunderlich, aged 23 (Dukla Nastalich FK).
The 23 year old is a clever striker, he is small - so he doesn't get himself into any physical contests and he relies on his pace to sprint past defences. He is very creative too, and he has great stamina reserves meaning he can chase everything and seemingly never tire. His passing creates a lot of openings for team mates and he is extremely un-selfish meaning he could score a lot more than he does. He has made one appearance for the national side and has scored one goal.

22. Lijenost Klinicki, aged 18 (Atletik Thessia).
The seventeen year old, was a surprise inclusion for the World Cup 53 squad. He is two years older now, and he has certainly gotten a lot better. He was good even then, but now he is improved. He is tall and amazing in the air, he is also surprisingly quick over short distances and can beat many a defender over a 10-20m sprint. He is an old-fashioned striker, strong, tall, powerful. He gets a lot of headed goals and is also good at shooting when the ball is on the ground. He has made 23 caps for the national side even at the age of 18 and has scored four goals.

Manager: Theo Wekkler, 57. He is the former manager of Atletik Thessia who are the most successful club in the history of Mytanar football. He resigned last season and now concentrates fully on the national side.

Assistant Manager: Uri Sacer, 50. The assistant manager is the one who does the scouting of players as Wekkler is managing his club side during the week. He also takes the majority of training sessions and is renowned for his no-nonsense approach - he makes the players work hard.

Attacking Coach: Lijenost Burton, 47. The famed amateur league striker, he scored 367 goals in 545 appearances in the Amateur League which was the top league before the introduction of the Mytanar Takillega (which is now the top-flight of Mytanar football). Is known to be quite lenient on his players, and focusses on keeping them fit for big games.

Midfield Coach: Danny Richardson, 63. He used to be coach of 1923 Esca, when they were the dominant force in the Amateur League. He was a midfielder when he played. He is known to wander off and drink copious amounts of alcohol rather than coach the players and leaves them to train themselves.

Defensive Coach: Alex Salmond, 58. He uses statistics to coach the defenders, working on the areas where the stats say they've been bad. He is usually visible on the sideline during games with a computer and a television screen - replaying pivotal moments to relay to the coach where mistakes have been made.

Goalkeeper Coach: Mirko Schettler, 43. The former goalkeeper for Miago City - when he was at the height of his career Miago were a force. He is fun and is known for strange training regimes that tend to work. 'Method in the madness' is the line he regularly gives reporters.

Fitness Coach: Lavdrim Yukov, 65. The former doctor, has some mad, mad methods - including repeatedly dropping buckets of freezing water over players heads and making them eat fried lizards to keep fitness. The players refuse, he simply says they won't win. This hasn't been proved either way yet.

Physio: Yohann Estev, 41. Possibly the most normal member of the team management, he does what is needed and does it by the book. If a player is unfit, he will advise the Manager not to pick him. A pretty standard physio, he isn't a miracle-worker.

Home Stadium

Stade Kombarov I - is a newly built stadium in the capital, Esca. It has a capacity of 50,000 and is all-seater (something that doesn't tend to happen in Mytannion). It is home to domestic team, 1923 Esca. The city around the stadium is famous for its' skyline which is full of massive skyscrapers. There are various tourist spots for incoming fans. The Liberation Palace (used to be named the Imperial Palace), the home of the Queen of Mytannion, Roisin I. There is also the House of Representatives, the home to the Parliament of Mytannion. You could visit the home of the President, The Ruminig - the massive, domed building the home to President Pamic and his family.

The stadium is a massive structure and the safest stadium in Mytannion by a long, long way. It is all-seater and home to loud, vocal fans. It makes for an intimidating atmosphere - especially when fans from other places join the fans from the capital city. The roof of the stadium is the most striking feature - it is a 37,500 square metre large tent which can close away. It is therefore known as the 'biggest convertible in Mytannion (..if not the world)'. Snow is common in Mytannion and the roof is normally kept open in all conditions as when it was first opened and the roof was closed - snow collected on the roof, when it was opened - the snow fell down onto the pitch. This therefore makes conditions terrible when the snow is whirling around and it is blizzard conditions.

There isn't a 'most-famous' stand in this stadium, as it is new. However, the one that is expected to generate the most noise is the North Stand. Mytanar fans light up flares regularly and make lots of noise. The North Stand holds 10,000 spectators and is extremely steep.

The visiting fans will sit in the North-East Corner, which holds around 3,500 fans - this is extremely close to where the most hardcore fans will sit and so a lot of noise will be generated from these areas of the ground. The away fans will have to be careful or they will be smashed with bottles and coins and various other assorted missiles. There is a huge fence between the North Stand and North-East Corner, but this hasn't stopped fans from climbing over and jumping down onto other fans at other Mytanar grounds. However, because this is the national stadium - safety is paramount and therefore ground stewards and police will be out in force to stop these events from happening.

About the Tidal Surge
The Tidal Surge formation is a hybrid style that makes use of athleticism in key “flex” positions that allow the formation to ebb and flow between styles to take advantage of personnel match-ups and break opportunities. At any point in the match the Tidal Surge can more remind viewers and opponents of a 5-3-3 (most often) or a 3 4-3 (least often) but can usually be found flexing in between those extremes.
Three key positions make this formation work. The offensive midfielder with which everyone is familiar and the two hybrid positions called “UP” backs. These two positions are a direct cross between center midfielders and outside backs. These two positions use athletic ability to move up and down the pitch changing the formation to fit the needs of current needs. Thus at any one moment the formation can resemble anything from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 creating, quite nearly, the perfect positions for almost any situations.

The Sea Dragons are blessed with a relatively young staff with several members only shortly past their playing days. They bring a fire to their preparation and leadership that keeps the players hungry to overachieve and ready to perform under any kind of pressure. After a great performance in World Cup 53, which was capped by an unexpected run into the quarterfinals, the staff has solidified their own positions and are geared up for another run at glory.

Ibrihim brings a hard-nosed style that demands responsibility and respect for both himself and the entire organization. The Sea Dragons played very well under his direction in qualification for World Cups 53 and 54, making the round of eight in WC 53 before falling flat in the WC group stage in 54.
Now Kali’Kalii has returned with even more fire to prove the run by the Sea Dragons was more than just luck. He is now out to prove that the Sea Dragons deserve to be mentioned alongside the truly elite of the World Cup sides. That means finding a way to not only qualify for a third straight time, but to move into the knock-out stages and trade blows with the big boys and girls.

Mr. Karaoke. Sometimes his players tend to forget just how good he was on the pitch. Four new faces appeared in the five-player flux of defenders the Tidal Surge makes use of, and it was the defense that let the Sea Dragons down in the end last time out. Mace has worked hard to put some aggressiveness into the play of the more finesse minded players. If the talent level on each side was not so high, he would have probably made the change to more physical players.

Nearly a perfect blend of size and speed, the young forward looks to carve his own place from the shadows left by Jahirii. If play from the other side becomes consistent, Jonasei could score in bunches as he sees more defenses open up.

The young attacker played well for much of the last campaign, although she did seem to disappear in big matches. That being said, the staff fully expects her to be a real difference maker in taking pressure off Jonasei. There is a huge difference between 18 and 22 in mental and physical toughness that should prove true in this outing.

Sheer speed earned Kijarii a starting spot in WC53. Excellent play and dominating performances has allowed him to return as a starter and keep the spot. Hope is that with the two forwards being more seasoned, he can return to his WC53 form where he picked defenses apart as he moved forward to help the attack. If Kijarii can be just half as good as he thinks he is, he could be the best offensive midfielder in the world.

Niripsa celebrated her 16th birthday during World Cup 54 qualification. She will turn 20 on match day 1 of these qualifiers. The young girl who impressed the world with her determination now has physical ability and experience to back up her dogged approach to the game. She could be considered the key to the entire WC55 process.

Once a talented young forward, back injuries forced a move to the midfield hwere Morigra has settled in quite nicely. Solid footwork define his style as he uses innovative techniques to wrest the ball from his opponents. Creativity more than makes up for any loss of speed due to his injuries.

RUB 13 Kymykera Wu’eres F 35 5’6 145 Kymykera proved herself to be the most dominating force for ASMV on the pitch since Evan Evans in WC29 and finally gave full merit to the Tidal Surge formation and its innovative Up Back positions in the process. Kymy loves the versatility of her place and continues to look for ways to improve her game and make those around her better. She can be expected once more to control the pace of many matches and wreak havoc any place on the pitch.

LUB 14 Jarika’u Mik’kiz M 27 6’3 190
A solid starter in his own right, Jarik’au is often overlooked as opposing sides prepare for how to deal with Kymy. Huge Mistake. Jari has grown into a dependable Up back who can hold his own even if it is without the pure talent of his counterpart.

Zua is a bit of a question mark for what is considered to be a solid, even if young, roster. Hard-hitting and lightening fast, she has every tool needed to succeed at this level. But at times it seems as if her brain takes a vacation making her prone to silly, yet costly, mistakes. Kuri’Kurii is convinced he can help find her full potential, but that remains to be seen. With mental lapses plaguing Sali’shava as well, who knows what will happen with the defense.

Adrenaline junkie who plays the game with a kamikaze fearlessness. Makes up for lack of experience with effort and style. The Sea Dragons are historically known for hard hitting defenders and Laia follows that trend to a T.

Another positioning guru at defender, the Sea Dragons are taking a risk in moving away from the more power-oriented backs. Pijaru has the speed more closely associated with attackers and a skill with the ball that would warrant a spot in the midfield. Only his love for the defensive positions has kept him from being moved forward. It will take more than love for him to keep the spot.

Not only that, but when told “Go home. You won’t be trying out this time.”, Sanlioch strode onto the pitch, asked Ki’seru politely to move out of the way, and proceeded to stop the next 22 shots from the Sea Dragon starting forwards. Could this be a reincarnation of legendary Sea Dragon Keeper Shaun Conarky? Hmmm…

Karl has quickly broken into the Vaastrada first team despite his tender age with some great displays of brilliant acrobatical goalkeeping. Certainly one to watch if you want exitement, but his ability to stick on his line when needed to has been called into question

23. Vanger HANDORLINK (Starter) (Volerander FC) Age: 34

Vanger is Swartaz's mainstray in the goal, with unrivalled consistency in shot stopping. When he came into the team aged 19 and stole Byron Jansuur's place, his main asset was his speed off the line, and he still demonstrates this skill to this day. At 34, he isn't the youngest, but he's got at least another two world cup cycles in him.

99. Jamas GORGSEN (Res) Unattached Age: 34

Jamas has had a very unlucky time in the Swartaz squad. The spot in the first team he thought he was to inherit was stolen by Handorlink. Dumped out of Tyrrin with the dissolution of the league, he joined Sopensentrall FC, but his contract was terminated at the end of last season and you have to wonder how long he thinks he has left at the top level.

Henrik is the perfect right back in Swartaz's attacking system. He gets up and down the right wing all day effortlessly, with breathtaking speed and stamina, and a handy knack of scoring goals from outside the area just at the right time. Playing in Cafundeu has also helped is all round game, especially defensively, and he is now able to hold his own down the wing against the worlds best.

5. Fredrik GAISBAN (Starter) (Cap Nordique) (Cotdelapoms) Age: 23

Fredrik burst onto the international scene a few years ago in place of struggling now retired Kristan Alvar and has never looked back. Capable of some massive tackles, creator of many a counter attack with his long balls, and his ability on the ball, he has been described as the playmaker stuck in defence, but defence is his calling.

4. Hugo LUKAS (Starter) (Rigdemont Town) (Queer Poco el Mono Ara) Age: 29

Hugo's style of play is similar to Fredrik's, but he has two distinct advantages. One, he is faster, capable of staying with the fastest of strikers. And two, his height enables him to clear balls that Gaisban simply cannot get to. At 29 he is at his peak and should be very impressive this cycle.

15. Rasmus BJÖRN (Starter) (Clube Comercial) (Cafundeu) Age: 37 CAPTAIN

Rasmus, captain Rasmus. The ever present left back with style. He moves the ball down the wing at his feet effortlessly, but posesses much more defensive ability than Otto, and that means that he is generally regarded as the better full back. His leadership skills are also first rate, and took over Jans Litremmen's role very well. A great player to hopefully lead Swartaz to record breaking feats in this cycle (Also the only Swartaz captain to lift an internationally renowned trophy, the Cup of Harmony)

27. Janek PIDULSKI (Sub) (IFK Goteborg) Age: 22

Janek's versitility has allowed him to become more of a fixture in the Swartaz squad in recent years. He doesn't particually excel in any area, but he is the perfect player to bring in anywhere in the defence, or even midfield, if injuries hit.

29. Olof GÅSSENT (Sub) (Groubeschwellei FC) Age: 17

Olof is a bit of an unknown quantity in the centre of the defence. However a regular berth in the Groubeschwellei FC first team has allowed him to show flashes of the talent needed to succeed on the international stage.

12. Henrik LITREMMEN (res) (Vaastrada FC) Age: 18

Henrik, son of inspirational ex-captain Jans, has been thrown straight from the U-21 team into this world cup cycle. Swartaz's stand out player in the 17th Di Brandini cup, he has a lot of expectation on is shoulders coming up in the next few years, but he should be able to confidently handle it with his undoubted ability.

30. Vaarger JASMEIKAEIL (res) (AFC Tranzversa) Age: 27

Not really much to say about Vaarger, an average at best full back for international standards, but he does his job well at AFC and is ready to be called upon when needed.

Midfield

11. Karl JASIN (Starter) (A.F.F) (Cafundeu) Age: 23

Karl was the definitive 'wonderkid' of World Cup 52 with abundant energy and creativity down the right side and has carried on his amazing play throughout his career thus far. The only non-Swartazian born on the team, he is still as passionate about the team as any. A regular at Cafundeu club A.F.F, he has shown his promise in the domestic scene too.

6. Johan HESSE (Starter) (Tout-Puissant Outremont) (Cotdelapoms) Age: 29

The monster of the centre midfield is Johan Hesse, capable of dispossesing even the cockiest and cleverist playmakers. Couple that with his top class passing ability and vision, you have the perfect holding midfileder. He also writes a very successful blog about his on and off field endevours.

8. Marko KRIVAC (Starter) (Norrion Rovers) (Eastfield Lodge) Age: 27

Marko was the find of the last World Cup, and he appeared on the scene just at the right time too, as Niklas Gösta announced his retirement just before the Cup of Harmony. throughout the Cup of Harmony he showed why he was elevated to the first team over the likes of Frej and Sxer with his brilliant energetic and skillful playmaking in the attacking midfielder role. Also capable of scoring from long range and in his element with the ball at his feet just outside the opposision box, he is arguably the reason Swartaz won the Cup of Harmony.

7. Alex FREJ (Starter) (Cap Nordique) (Cotdelapoms) Age: 34

Frej has finally burst into the first team after many a World Cup quitely making the odd substitute appearance, and maybe scoring the odd goal. At 34 he needs to make up for lost time quicly and get some goals and assists under his belt.

16. Adolph KANNESBOURG (Sub) (Jaarguzmuz FC) Age: 22

At 22 Adolph is now too old for the U-21 team, but that is not a problem as he has shown over the last two years at Jaarguzmuz that he is easily capable of performing on the international stage and well.

17. Josef GUNNARSSON (Sub) (Mauntenbörg FC) Age: 18

Josef has taken the A league by storm this season with his brilliant attacking style and energy. He'll be a real weapon coming off the bench in this World Cup cycle and I'm sure Kenny will employ him in a role such as this.

37. Mikael JOHANNES (Res) (Vaastrada FC) Age: 19

Mikael is another creative master, who excels with the ball at his feet, but is let down by a lack of speed or strenght, both of which are essential at this level.

25. Yngve SXER (Res) (Volerander FC) Age: 30

A career wrecked by injury is the story here, but is capable of mesmerising displays of football on his day.

Strikers

10. Benidikt KLUM (Starter) (Volerander FC) Age: 27

Benidikt is Mr. Reliable up front, with speed, strengh and goalscoring ability all combining to make the perfect target man. Not as extravagnt or exiting as Dasra, he is undoubtedly more consistent and when on form is unstoppable, for club and country, the srtiker spearheading Volerander FC most of the time without backup.

9. Olec DASRA (Starter) (Vaastrada FC) Age: 20

Olec must be one of the greatest but least consistent strikers in world football. With the whole of Swartaz on his shoulders, he carries the Dasra name well on the pitch, with all the confidence and ability of his late father. When on form, he just cannot be stopped. He can score from just about anywhere, and in a variety of different fashions. Off form however, he is hotheaded, agitated and generally needs to have a bit of a cool off to get him back to his world beating talent.

20. Kimi LINNISSÖN (Sub) (IFK Göteborg) Age: 24

Kimi was brought into the Swartaz squad at 17 when Brita was controversially dropped during a particually bad dry spell. He shows his knack for being at the right place at the right time well at IFK Göteborg, and his speed makes him a great impact sub.

39. Konstantin BRITA (Res) (???) Age: 34

Well he's finally back in the Swartaz squad. The most controversial player in Swartaz has been dropped and re-instated too many times to count. Sordid affairs, bust up's with managers, and on and off pitch fights with team mates mean he is now the panto villian instead of the much loved wonderkid he was 10 years ago. Kenny has brought him back as he is the best player in this squad on his day. The question on everyone's lips is if those days will ever return.

Keep an eye on this midfield where a lot of change is happening. Hennicke returns for another Cup, but her playing partners have changed from World Cup 54. Alder returns to international play after multiple bouts with injury threatened her career, and Van de Graaf brings exciting playmaker skills from the hottest new team in the islands. Hollister and Butler will tend to substitute at wing and Skarphéðinn in the middle. Constant and Valentine are untested at this level.

Hennicke is the first choice shooter for penalties. Van de Graaf takes corners and most free kicks.

Four of the five forwards from last Cup return, with Bertrand Duval squeezed out by two-time premiership top scorer Hovi. Hovi may see the most play time in the 5-3-2, Martin and Glen Svoboda flank Olson in the 4-3-3, and Lindquist learns the flex-forward style in the 4-6-0.

• Glen and Nancy Svoboda are brother and sister, the two oldest children of the late World Cup Hall of Famer Magnus Svoboda. Younger sister Margaret has an Olympic bronze medal.
• Bethany Martin was once a runner-up for Miss Babbage Islands. She's a great interview.
• Caitlyn Ballantyne won 42 caps for Sportgirls before becoming a Babbage citizen. Prior to turning pro she earned a PhD at 19 and taught literature at university.
• After many years of association on the pitch, Jerry Kirkpatrick and Elizabeth Hanna are becoming a serious pair off the pitch.
• Carson Campbell and Eva Glemnitz are both hoping for opportunities to shine, as Carson's club needs the money and Eva is looking at larger markets.
• Five players (Campbell, Constant, Hollister, Hovi, Provencher) are returned Mormon missionaries. Glen Svoboda has discussed the possibility with his club.

Stadium:
Velká Noviková Stadion, although not the largest football stadium in Novikov, is widely considered the most beautiful in the country - not to mention the most modern. The stadium was designed specifically for the 51st World Cup, but construction was delayed and it was not completed until halfway through the qualifying phase of that Cup. Novikovians living in and around the capitol soon fell in love with the new landmark and the stadium is now one of the most used in the country - having hosted concerts, lacrosse competitions, and military drills as well as national and international football matches. This popularity led to the stadium being named the Novikovian National Team's home field, and from now on they will play all home matches on its turf. The stadium is built to comfortably house 73.400, including 1.400 in luxurious box seats.
