Just confirming, as per Vermark's RP in the main thread, that I'll be looking after their team for a couple of weeks.

Still waiting for activity from Peninsula Praedonesque. If Para doesn't turn up in the next few days then we'll look for another team to replace them.

If anyone's wondering why Crimson LaRoca was listed as a driver for Frontiere for 24 hours, its because I apparently can't tell the difference between 'moving from Yttribia' and 'moving to Yttribia'. It's fixed now.

That would only be those teams who applied before the cutoff right?

Most likely, yes. I've sent a couple of TG's to a couple of users who's teams didn't make the cut. Neither have RP'd thus far, though, so we may well be looking for a new team.

Will keep everyone updated as to what's happening on that front.

The first cut-off will be midnight GMT, July 10th for pre-season practice.

Race 1 will most likely take place on the weekend of July 17-19th, with practice session on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday.

We'll try to get a full itinerary up as soon as possible.

Thanks Yttrib.

As Taeshan's and Whiteshore's RP/tag post suggest, both Salvatore and Orlov are being considered as the replacement team for Cobolis-Wobbegong. We will, however, be considering new offers. Enter your team's 'sign-up' in this thread by Sunday night to be considered. RPs also welcome.

Okay, so there's been a slight change of plan.

Of the 33 drivers that signed up, around 19 appear to be being actively RP'd. Of the 12 teams, 11 are being actively RP'd.

If we run with 11 teams, we will have 19 drivers for 22 spots.

As such, we don't think the 12th team is necessary.

Thanks to Tae and Whiteshore (as well as Jeck and Apox, who expressed interest) for responding quickly to offers about becoming the twelfth team. Tae and Whiteshore, your drivers are encouraged to join one of the eleven existing teams.

If we fail to get all 22 spots filled, then we'll consider re-opening driver-signups and allowing some users to add an additional driver to the pool.

Whatever happens, pre-season practice will still be going ahead this coming Friday/Saturday.

Thanks again,

Audio.

Any driver not signed to a team come cut-off will not take part pre-season practice, but that doesn't mean they can't be signed up at a later date.

With little activity this week, i'm reopening driver signups. Any user not currently involved is elligible to register a driver and any user with a team is elligible to register a second driver into the pool.

As with last season, if you want to finalise a deal, but don't have time/inspiration for a full RP, you can write a one-line post in the RP thread saying something like 'driver x accepts the offer from team y' and that will be acceptable.

BIO: Zeek has just started his career with motor racing, but he has been excited and growing in leaps and bounds since his arrival to the sport. It has been about a year of driving, so he is relatively new to the sport, but before taking on his dream, Zeek was the ringleader of street races and some legal racing set up by the Zillmerilic government. Zeek is young at 20, but has experienced more than many drivers his age and beyond. This will be his first time in the professional circuit, but he will do well.

NAME: Riku Äijälä
NATIONALITY: Matawanian
TRIGRAM: NMA
ABILITY: 3/1/2.
BIO: A long time ringer on the New Matawanian circuit, Riku never really experienced success outside of his home country. However, after winning pretty much every prize New Matawan has to offer, and his age starting to grow, he began to look for something greater. Injuries, sponsorship trouble and cold feet have delayed his transition for a couple of years, but he finally got his first taste of international competition in the regional Nordic Rally Championship. Now, at the comparatively old age of 36, Riku looks to tackle international open-wheel racing at last. While concerned that he may be outpaced by younger, more aggressive rivals, Riku believes that his patient driving style and decades of experience will more than make up for that.

Personality wise, he's basically the personification of the "Comically Serious" trope. He takes his craft and training very passionately, but he's very lacking in the interpersonal skills department, hilarity often ensuing. This includes an almost complete inability to detect sarcasm. A driver of few words, Riku prefers to avoid the press and let his driving do the talking.

Note for RP purposes that Riku often goes by his first name alone, a la Ichiro Suzuki or Beyonce Knowles.

Bio: Something of a flashy character, Matt Hingis is the sole representative of Apox in any kind of motorsport, mainly because the authorities thought it would stop him from joyriding as god damn much in Apox. One particularly notable incident was his decision to drive the wrong way up a motorway in order to practise his avoidance of other cars on the road.

Last season he raced for the second works team and actually obtained some points, which is a bit of an achievement in and off itself. He managed to miss the original cut-off for applications this season due to taking an extensive holiday in a lovely part of The Licentian Isles, very out of the way. But he has now been found, and is desperate to jump on the WGPC boat with any team that will take him.

Second driver, as one of the teams accepted:
NAME: Asao Nadakei
GENDER: Male
NATIONALITY: Hodoran
TRIGRAM: HDR
ABILITY: 2.7/1.4/1.9
BIO: A 43-year-old seasoned veteran and current defending champion of the Formula Hodori series. He started his driving career close to 30 years ago in local karting championships, moving up the ladder to the predecessor of the Junior Formula Challenge, and gaining a seat in the top level of Hodoran open-wheel racing at 22. Spending his first several years in various smaller teams, he eventually wound up in his current seat with the Dekijika factory team where he proceeded to help ensure Dekijika's dominance of the championship.

If signed, his desired numbers (in order of preference) are 16, 55, or 34.

Also, I have an IC reason for procrastinating with the Yakumicha audition test session. Regardless I intend to scorinate that and choose my two drivers tomorrow so someone yell at me on IRC in 24 hours.

Does the reopening of driver signups mean that previously rejected drivers still have a chance of being signed?
