Qarin Te Giants 5–0 Loreza Racers
Loreza Racers 6–9 Qarin Te Giants
Loreza Racers 0–6 Qarin Te Giants, 2 Qarin Te Giants win series 4-0

The defending champions look to be in good form, pitching three shutouts and dominating the Racers. Carey Hicks looks scary and loaded while 3B Zander Homes looks to be ready to carry this team on his back. The young star hit the two-run shot in the first game, and a three-run shot in Game 4.

3 South Irswabi Tigers vs. 6 Qillan Pride
South Irswabi Tigers 9–1 Qillan Pride
South Irswabi Tigers 3–2 Qillan Pride
Qillan Pride 0–3 South Irswabi Tigers
Qillan Pride 7–2 South Irswabi Tigers
South Irswabi Tigers 5–4 Qillan Pride. 3 South Irswabi Tigers win series 4-1

Gerard Hopkins led the Tigers to this series win despite some shaky pitching. Daniel Adams was the good news in the pitching front, totaling fifteen innings of relief in five games and giving up only two runs while doing it.

La Pinatra Crusaders 3–8 New Knisi Cyborgs
New Knisi Cyborgs 3–9 La Pinatra Crusaders
La Pinatra Crusaders 0–7 New Knisi Cyborgs, 1 New Kinsi Cyborgs win series 4-2

Hawkins, Zaire, and Perez are a trio that cannot be defeated easily. The Crusaders did get two wins in, but in Game 6, Hawkins went six innings, Zaire covered for two, and then Perez struck out the side.

2 Qarin Te Giants vs. 3 South Irswabi Tigers
Qarin Te Giants 5–3 South Irswabi Tigers
Qarin Te Giants 7–2 South Irswabi Tigers
South Irswabi Tigers 4–10 Qarin Te Giants
South Irswabi Tigers 3–5 Qarin Te Giants. 2 Qarin Te Giants win series 4-0

A sweep for the Giants as they tune up for the big one: Qarin Te vs. New Kinsi. Between the two, they have won all of the titles so far. Bernard vs. Carey is a matchup not to be missed, as the two defense-minded teams collide.
Conference Championships

The Cyborgs avenge last season's loss by handing the Giants a 4-1 series defeat. Game 2 was a high-scoring affair, and Game 4 was also close, but at the end, the relievers and closer of New Kinsi were too good for the Giants.
Falconfar Baseball Classic IV

1 New Kinsi Cyborgs vs. 1 Vititi Paladins
New Knisi Cyborgs 4–6 Vititi Paladins
New Knisi Cyborgs 5–0 Vititi Paladins
Vititi Paladins 3–7 New Knisi Cyborgs
Vititi Paladins 2–0 New Knisi Cyborgs
New Knisi Cyborgs 1–6 Vititi Paladins
Vititi Paladins 4–9 New Knisi Cyborgs
New Knisi Cyborgs 5–4 Vititi Paladins. 1 New Kinsi Cyborgs win series 4-3

The Paladins gave the Cyborgs everything they could handle. First, Dixon actually outpitched Hawkins in Game 1. The Cyborgs answered back in Game 2 when #2 pitcher Vladmir Hidalgo pitched a two-hitter. New Kinsi had its act back together in Game 3, but then Dixon pitched a one-hitter in Game 4, and Maureane hit a grand slam in Game 5 to put the Paladins ahead 3-2. That was as close as they would get, however, as the Cyborgs closed out Games 6 and 7 to win the title for the third time in fourth seasons.

Falconfar Basketball Association Season Five

Postby Falconfar » Wed Aug 01, 2012 3:34 pm

Announcement: Starting this season in Falconfar Sports, in every sport, Gridiron, Basketball, Hockey, and Baseball, the top sixteen teams overall, between all conferences, in all levels, will make it to the playoffs, where they will be seeded and put into a hard bracket. All sports with series will be best of seven. The promotion/relegation system will not change.
Falconfar Basketball Association Season 5

As the fifth season kicked off, the announcement concerning the playoffs came in. This makes it so that every game counts, and cross-conference playoff series are absolutely a possibility. With all of Falconfar's teams not making it very far in the recent IUBC, which was won by the Holy Templars of Freedom's Altar in Yesopalitha, even the Wurlington Dynamos were hungry in this year's play. This is what occurred:

Premier Conference A Pld W L PF PA PD

Benefiting from the new playoff system were the Loreza Racers, who sneaked into the playoffs with a record of 42-48. Their reward will be taking on the Wurlington Dynamos. Other series' will be Rollers vs. Ants, Terror vs. Marlins, Crusaders vs. Lancers, Panthers vs. Dragoons, Herd vs. Cyborgs, Buccaneers vs. Red, and Spiders vs. Jolt.
Falconfar Basketball Association Playoffs Season Five

Round of 16

(1) Wurlington Dynamos vs. (16) Loreza Racers
Wurlington Dynamos 79–68 Loreza Racers
Wurlington Dynamos 67–55 Loreza Racers
Loreza Racers 76–80 Wurlington Dynamos
Loreza Racers 62–65 Wurlington Dynamos (1) Wurlington Dynamos win series 4-0.

Wurlington's starting five defeated Loreza just as expected. The Racers, who just sneaked into the playoffs despite finishing six games below .500, should be happy with the way they handled themselves in Games 3 and 4, which were decided by four points or less. SG Sheldon Fowler did sink a bucket in Game 3 and the three pointer in Game 4 that gave Wurlington the lead, and the win. The experienced five of Jessica Barnes, Sheldon Fowler, Maren Buysse, Haymen Gendreau, and Benjamin Viger have been together for the last three years... They have spent so much time playing together that it is highly unlikely they will lose until at least the Semifinals.

(8) Iona Junction Spiders vs. (9) Lokka Jolt
Iona Junction Spiders 72–68 Lokka Jolt
Iona Junction Spiders 75–86 Lokka Jolt
Lokka Jolt 66–82 Iona Junction Spiders
Lokka Jolt 56–70 Iona Junction Spiders
Iona Junction Spiders 87–68 Lokka Jolt (8) Iona Junction Spiders win series 4-1.

The Spiders returned to the playoffs after a Conference Semifinal exit last season. Lokka also lost in the Conference Semifinals. Now, they faced each other in the first round, and it was the Spiders who came out on top under the leadership of PF Dorian Rutan and SF Marc Danos. Lokka did take down the Spiders in Game 2 behind a thirty point performance by PG Ingvild Sansoucie, but it wasn't enough as the Spiders took down the Jolt in five games, with all of their victories being by double digits.

(4) La Pinatra Crusaders vs. (13) Lyron Lancers
La Pinatra Crusaders 70–75 Lyron Lancers
La Pinatra Crusaders 66–78 Lyron Lancers
Lyron Lancers 70–97 La Pinatra Crusaders
Lyron Lancers 70–60 La Pinatra Crusaders
La Pinatra Crusaders 67–79 Lyron Lancers (13) Lyron Lancers win series 4-1.

The Lancers of Lyron had missed the playoffs last season despite finishing in eighth place in the Premier B Conference. This season, they took no chances by finishing fourteen games above .500. With a chance to prove themselves worthy of the playoffs, they took on an experienced La Pinatra side that finished in second place only behind Wurlington in the regular season in the Premier B Conference. However, it was the Lancers that looked like the more experienced team. Each of their four wins were close, but clutch shooting by SG Leonie Bouthillier and blocks by C Hayman Defrain pushed the Lancers past the Crusaders. La Pinatra managed one win in Game 3 when PG Esteban Lemont broke out for thirty-four points, but it was too late. The Lancers capped it off in Game 5 with Bouthillier scoring thirty, and moved into the Quarterfinals.

(5) Iriwati Panthers vs. (12) Sandrali Dragoons
Iriwati Panthers 80–52 Sandrali Dragoons
Iriwati Panthers 76–60 Sandrali Dragoons
Sandrali Dragoons 76–77 Iriwati Panthers
Sandrali Dragoons 74–92 Iriwati Panthers (5) Iriwati Panthers win series 4-0.

Although her brother Esteban didn't make it out of the Round of 16, Panthers PG Melissa Lemont did, leading an experienced Panthers side past the Dragoons. The Dragoons seemed to regroup by Game 3, and were ahead by ten with two minutes to go. A nine-zero run, though, brought the Panthers within one, and then PF Timo Sens buried a short jumper at the buzzer for the win that deflated the Dragoons and gave the Panthers all the momentum in the world. Another win, a blowout, and the series was over.

(2) Orion City Rollers vs. (15) Iona City Ants
Orion City Rollers 78–60 Iona City Ants
Orion City Rollers 85–77 Iona City Ants
Iona City Ants 76–96 Orion City Rollers
Iona City Ants 73–85 Orion City Rollers (2) Orion City Rollers win series 4-0.

The Ants made it to the playoffs, a major accomplishment for that side. However, their run was over before it began. The Rollers, led by their shooting guard, Mead Newell of Civil Citizenry, romped all over the Ants, with Newell averaging twenty-five points on the series, PG Nicole Collier dishing out plenty of assists, and C Lisa De George controlling the middle. No game was closer than eight as the Rollers' experience and power was too much to handle.

(7) Votto Toren Buccaneers vs. (10) New Irswabi Red
Votto Toren Buccaneers 59–76 New Irswabi Red
Votto Toren Buccaneers 76–74 New Irswabi Red
New Irswabi Red 58–73 Votto Toren Buccaneers
New Irswabi Red 63–70 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 94–65 New Irswabi Red (7) Votto Toren Buccaneers win series 4-1.

New Irswabin and Votto Toren, two experienced playoff teams, clashed in this series. The Red were able to get a Game 1 win behind PF Therrian scoring thirty-seven, almost half of the team's points. However, starting Game 2, the Buccaneers started to contain Therrian, and a deep three as time expired from SG Fabio Achille gave the Buccaneers the momentum that they rode to a 4-1 win and a Quarterfinal date with the Rollers with a IUBC berth on the line.

(3) Frauhofen Terror vs. (14) New Sandoval Marlins
Frauhofen Terror 80–79 New Sandoval Marlins
Frauhofen Terror 71–68 New Sandoval Marlins
New Sandoval Marlins 89–82 Frauhofen Terror
New Sandoval Marlins 80–85 Frauhofen Terror
Frauhofen Terror 79–83 New Sandoval Marlins
New Sandoval Marlins 67–91 Frauhofen Terror (3) Frauhofen Terror win series 4-2.

The Marlins were another team who made it to the playoffs for the first time in a few seasons. They put up a fight against the perennial contenders, the Thunder. Frauhofen C Marcus Darrymore tipped away Marlins' PG Kim Bon's shot as time expired in Game 1 for the Terror to hang on to the win. In Game 2, it was the Terror's Frida Bally who buried the three for the win. The Marlins bounced back in Game 3, winning behind a double-double from SF Meline Autin, but the Terror got back on track in Game 4 with a eight-zero run in the final two minutes, and even though the Marlins were able to rely on Autin for another win in Game 5, the Terror closed out the series with a twenty to zero run in the middle of the third quarter in Game 6.

(6) North Iona Herd vs. (11) New Kinsi Cyborgs
North Iona Herd 73–79 New Kinsi Cyborgs
North Iona Herd 74–74 New Kinsi Cyborgs (97–89 OT)
New Kinsi Cyborgs 69–85 North Iona Herd
New Kinsi Cyborgs 79–77 North Iona Herd
North Iona Herd 88–79 New Kinsi Cyborgs
New Kinsi Cyborgs 90–71 North Iona Herd
North Iona Herd 80–81 New Kinsi Cyborgs (11) New Kinsi Cyborgs win series 4-3.

In the closest series of the Round of 16, two always dangerous teams clashed. New Kinsi went on the lead in Game 1 with SG Nina Tolin taking charge. Then, an epic overtime game in Game 2, with the overtime period controlled by the Herd, tied it up. The Herd took a lead by taking Game 3, led by PG Claudia Bois's triple-double, but the series was set back to a tie in Game 4 after a game-winner from an unlikely source, C Grainville Rodier. Game 5 was taken by the Herd, and Game 6 by the Cyborgs. The Herd had a three-point lead with a minute to go, but Tolin was fouled with fifty-two seconds, and buried both free throws. Then, Rodier stole the ball from Bois, and gave it to Tolin, who buried the short hook for the game and the series.
Quarterfinals

(1) Wurlington Dynamos vs. (8) Iona Junction Spiders
Wurlington Dynamos 79–58 Iona Junction Spiders
Wurlington Dynamos 89–59 Iona Junction Spiders
Iona Junction Spiders 75–83 Wurlington Dynamos
Iona Junction Spiders 60–84 Wurlington Dynamos (1) Wurlington Dynamos win series 4-0.

The Semifinal series will be harder on the Dynamos, right? Not really. Bernas, Folwer, and Co. beat Rutan, Danos, and Co. in a clean sweep, as the closest game was a eight-point win in Game 3. The Dynamos clinched a spot in the IUBC for the fifth season in a row as they go for yet another championship. They have the start power and depth to do it, as sixth man Mano Haou also had a solid series for the juggernaut Dynamos. They haven't dropped a game yet.

(5) Iriwati Panthers vs. (13) Lyron Lancers
Iriwati Panthers 81–72 Lyron Lancers
Iriwati Panthers 83–57 Lyron Lancers
Lyron Lancers 69–95 Iriwati Panthers
Lyron Lancers 67–66 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 84–70 Lyron Lancers (5) Iriwati Panthers win series 4-1.

Lyron had a shot at a IUBC berth, but the Panthers and their PG, Melissa Lemont, turned them down. The Lancers' only win came off of a Bouthillier buzzer-beater in Game 4, but it only delayed the inevitable - brought on by a 14-point thrashing in Game 5 that won the series for the Panthers, who will now focus on taking down a formidable foe in the Dynamos now that they have clinched that ever elusive IUBC berth.

(2) Orion City Rollers vs. (7) Votto Toren Buccaneers
Orion City Rollers 76–79 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Orion City Rollers 63–65 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 77–93 Orion City Rollers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 77–73 Orion City Rollers
Orion City Rollers 72–70 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 71–87 Orion City Rollers
Orion City Rollers 67–74 Votto Toren Buccaneers (7) Votto Toren Buccaneers win series 4-3.

Orion City vs. Votto Toren. Two teams that made it to the IUBC last season. This was a great series for the sport, as all seven games were close, and fans turned into this series more than any other. Votto Toren went out to a 2-0 lead due to two fantastic buzzer beaters by the Buccaneers' SG Fabio Achille. The Rollers came back with the biggest win of the series, a sixteen point thrashing, with Mead Newell flexing his muscles in a thirty-four point showing. The Bucs gained an incredible lead in Game 4 after more clutch shooting from Achille. This was followed by Newell hitting a game-winner in Game 5 to stay alive, and another sixteen point win in Game 6 as Newell and Co. gained more momentum. However, when it mattered the most, Achille and the Bucs went on a twenty-five to five run in the third quarter, and the Buccaneers made it back to the IUBC, knocking out perennial power players the Rollers.

(3) Frauhofen Terror vs. (11) New Kinsi Cyborgs
Frauhofen Terror 67–54 New Kinsi Cyborgs
Frauhofen Terror 84–70 New Kinsi Cyborgs
New Kinsi Cyborgs 87–85 Frauhofen Terror
New Kinsi Cyborgs 75–78 Frauhofen Terror
Frauhofen Terror 101–74 New Kinsi Cyborgs (3) Frauhofen Terror win series 4-1.

The Cyborgs had the momentum, but the Terror had the skills. Besides a hiccup in Game 3 when Tolin buried yet another game-winner, the Terror were all over the weaker side, with three of four wins being blowouts, including the final game, which was essentially over halfway through the third quarter with all of the starting five gaining over twenty points, a feat that is very hard to accomplish.
Semifinals
(1) Wurlington Dynamos vs. (5) Iriwati Panthers
Wurlington Dynamos 90–65 Iriwati Panthers
Wurlington Dynamos 102–56 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 65–90 Wurlington Dynamos
Iriwati Panthers 80–61 Wurlington Dynamos
Wurlington Dynamos 80–64 Iriwati Panthers (1) Wurlington Dynamos win series 4-1.

The Dynamos ran into a tougher customer in the Panthers, but not really. A twenty-five blowout win in Game 1 was followed by a forty-six point blowout win in Game 2 as Sheldon Fowler put on a clinic in both games. Game 3 was the same story as the Dynamos won by twenty-five... Then, the Panthers and PG Melissa Lemont won Game 4 by nineteen to not go quietly and make the Dynamos lose their first game in the playoffs. However, the Dynamos bounced back at home with another blowout win, and they were through to the Finals.

(3)Frauhoften Terror vs. (7) Votto Toren Buccaneers
Frauhofen Terror 90–81 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Frauhofen Terror 76–78 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 66–78 Frauhofen Terror
Votto Toren Buccaneers 88–81 Frauhofen Terror
Frauhofen Terror 93–58 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 75–70 Frauhofen Terror
Frauhofen Terror 61–64 Votto Toren Buccaneers (7) Votto Toren Buccaneers win series 4-3.

Buccaneer fans must be experiencing emotions close to heart attacks these days. Another seven game win saw them through to the finals as Achille willed them through at the ennd. It was literally a back and forth match as the teams traded wins until the final game. Achille scored twenty-eight points in the final game, including the game-winning three as time expired to lift the Bucs in the Championship game. This is the first final to not feature the Orion City Rollers, and the Bucs will have a chance to stop the Dynamos from winning the title four times in a row.
Championships

(1) Wurlington Dynamos vs. (7) Votto Toren Buccaneers
Wurlington Dynamos 95–55 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Wurlington Dynamos 69–79 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 77–94 Wurlington Dynamos
Votto Toren Buccaneers 70–61 Wurlington Dynamos
Wurlington Dynamos 76–69 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 79–58 Wurlington Dynamos
Wurlington Dynamos 72–79 Votto Toren Buccaneers (7) Votto Toren Buccaneeres win series 4-3.

Third straight seven-game series for the Buccaneers. The newcomers to the final looked tired in Game 1 as Fowler and the Dynamos won by forty, a huge amount. Achille helped the Bucs bounce back in Game 2, and a tight series was commencing. Fowler scored over forty to lead the Dynamos in Game 3, and Achille scored thirty-five to have the Bucs right back in Game 4. Game 5 saw another performance from Fowler, and Game 6 another one by Achille. In Game 7, however, the unlikely hero, Hanna Delaware, the Bucs' rookie Power Forward, had the biggest game of her life, scoring thirty points, grabbing twenty-one boards, dishing out eleven assists, and leading the Buccaneers to a win and their first title in Falconfar Basketball. The Dynamos were stunned, and will have to settle for the fact that they have appeared in five straight finals.

Newshanville Pilots 4-1 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Newshanville Pilots 5–0 Votto Toren Buccaneers
Votto Toren Buccaneers 0–3 Newshanville Pilots
Votto Toren Buccaneers 2–2 Newshanville Pilots (0–2 SO) (1) Newshanville Pilots win series 4-0.

Tobias, Devore, and Co. made it to the playoffs, but were shut down quite fast... Newshanville continued its playoff presence by owning these games besides the last game that came down to shootouts. Until Game 4, Goalkeeper Simon Friant blanked the Bucs three times. C Leboeuf, RW Losier, and LW Constance were the stars in the series, with Leboeuf doing the assisting to her scorers.

(8) Esul Sonics vs. (9) Gimiki Beach Flying Turtles
Esul Sonics 3–3 Gimiki Beach Flying Turtles (1–0 SO)
Esul Sonics 3–4 Gimiki Beach Flying Turtles
Gimiki Beach Flying Turtles 1–1 Esul Sonics (2–1 OT)
Gimiki Beach Flying Turtles 0–2 Esul Sonics
Esul Sonics 2–1 Gimiki Beach Flying Turtles
Gimiki Beach Flying Turtles 0–0 Esul Sonics (1–0 OT)
Esul Sonics 2–1 Gimiki Beach Flying Turtles (8) Esul Sonics win series 4-3.

This series pitted the playoff-experienced Sonics against the newcomers, Flying Turtles. However, it was closer than anybody imagined it to be. The first game was highlighted by the respective Right Wingers - Erwant Servant of Esul and Louant Olsen of Gimiki Beach. Both players scored a hat trick each, but Servant was the one who put in the shot for the only goal of the shootout. Game 2 belonged to Olsen who scored the game winner in the third period. Game 3 was Sai Levenne, Esul LW's turn, to shine, scoring a shorthanded shot in Game 3. Game 4 saw Servant score two goals to lead the team to a 2-2 tie. Game 5 was Esul's, with Levenne and Servant scoring the goals. Gimiki Beach did get another win to keep things close, but Esul did pull away at the end, with Servant scoring another goal, and moved on.

(4) Vincevol Stars vs. (13) Frauhofen Terror
Vincevol Stars 5–1 Frauhofen Terror
Vincevol Stars 0–0 Frauhofen Terror (0–1 SO)
Frauhofen Terror 0–2 Vincevol Stars
Frauhofen Terror 2–4 Vincevol Stars
Vincevol Stars 1–2 Frauhofen Terror
Vincevol Stars 4–1 Frauhofen Terror (4) Vincevol Stars win series 4-2.

The Stars faced the Terror, who hadn't been around the playoffs for a couple years. Vincevol welcomed them in in Game 1 with a 5-1 drubbing at home, LW Konrad Fanguy scoring a hat-trick. The Terror did answer back with a shootout win in Game 2 with GK Nele Garrigues being the hero, but the Stars bounced back under the leadership of Fanguy in Games 3 and 4 as the Captain scored four goals and had two assists. Though the Terror did take back Game 5, Game 6 was over in the second period with Fanguy scoring two goals. The Stars moved on.

(5) Locksgren Tappers vs. (12) Kanino Wings
Locksgren Tappers 0–0 Kanino Wings (0–1 OT)
Locksgren Tappers 0–2 Kanino Wings
Kanino Wings 1–1 Locksgren Tappers (0–2 SO)
Kanino Wings 3–3 Locksgren Tappers (1–2 SO)
Locksgren Tappers 2–1 Kanino Wings
Kanino Wings 1–0 Locksgren Tappers
Locksgren Tappers 2–4 Kanino Wings (12) Kanino Wings win series 4-3.

The Wings came against the perennial powerhouse Tappers with one goal in mind: Don't be afraid. Win. It happened. Locksgren was shocked in two straight games at home with Kanino's C Timeo Gagne scoring all three goals in the process. This was followed by two heartbreaking shootout losses for the Wings as the Tappers' GK Romane Dejoie was clutch. The Wings seemed dazed, and the Tappers took advantage on a two-one win in Game 5 that pushed the Wings to the brink of elimination. However, Gagne responded with a magnificent goal in Game 6, and then in Game 7, the cavalry broke through in the second period with the Mikelov twins breaking through with two goals each, with Gagne assisting on all of them. Kanino had done it! They took down an experienced playoff squad, chasing their own dream of qualifying for the Champions' Hockey League.

(2) Jackson Flames vs. (15) Qillan Pride
Jackson Flames 3–0 Qillan Pride
Jackson Flames 5–0 Qillan Pride
Qillan Pride 2–3 Jackson Flames
Qillan Pride 1–4 Jackson Flames (2) Jackson Flames win series 4-0.

Jackson has been dominant in every season. Flames' GK Walter Fugere was brilliant in Games 1 and 2, then the offense bailed him out in Game 3 with RD Bain, RW Eugene, and Cotdelapomais LW Charbonneau scored the goals that pushed the Pride to extinction. Game 4 was more of the same, and the Flames moved on without blinking an eye, another CHL berth, and perhaps another title, in their sights.

(7) Janesville Kings vs. (10) Manecar Hawks
Janesville Kings 2–0 Manecar Hawks
Janesville Kings 2–1 Manecar Hawks
Manecar Hawks 1–2 Janesville Kings
Manecar Hawks 1–1 Janesville Kings (2–0 SO)
Janesville Kings 1–2 Manecar Hawks
Manecar Hawks 3–0 Janesville Kings
Janesville Kings 0–1 Manecar Hawks (10) Manecar Hawks win series 4-3.

The unprecedented happened with the Manecar Hawks, actually recently promoted, who won four games in a row to overcome a three-game deficit and take the series. After Janesville went out to a three-zero lead that contained two one-goal wins, led by C Martin Rodes, LW Nico Bur, and RW Oscar Bourque, it was the previously raw Hawks who came screaming back. It all started with a very tight Game 4 that was saved by GK Maigny Dore. Game 5 was calmly taken by Manecar's LW Lukas Deon. Then, Game 6 came and the Hawks jumped on the Kings for all that momentum. It all came down to a Game 7, and Deon came through, scoring on a power play midway through the second to pull off the remarkable upset.

(3) Iriwati Panthers vs. (14) Kirlin City Flyers
Iriwati Panthers 0–0 Kirlin City Flyers (1–3 SO)
Iriwati Panthers 0–0 Kirlin City Flyers (3–0 SO)
Kirlin City Flyers 2–3 Iriwati Panthers
Kirlin City Flyers 3–4 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 2–0 Kirlin City Flyers (3) Iriwati Panthers win series 4-1.

Kirlin City jumped on the Pahters in Game 1 behind a remarkable performance by GK Yamore Milano. However, the Panthers dominated rest of the way, with clutch goals from LW Stine Bland in Games 3 and 4, a nice performance in Game 2 from GK Clara Castel, then a two-nil game put them away. The Flyers were so happy after Game 1 but looked shell shocked the rest of the way through.

(6) North Irswabi Comets vs. (11) Rehaven Tide
North Irswabi Comets 0–0 Rehaven Tide (1–0 OT)
North Irswabi Comets 2–1 Rehaven Tide
Rehaven Tide 2–1 North Irswabi Comets
Rehaven Tide 1–1 North Irswabi Comets (2–1 OT)
North Irswabi Comets 0–3 Rehaven Tide
Rehaven Tide 0–2 North Irswabi Comets
North Irswabi Comets 1–1 Rehaven Tide (2–3 SO) (11) Rehaven Tide win series 4-3.

Another tight series, between the playoff-experienced Comets and the newcomers, the Tide. First, game went to the Comets with their goal being scored by C Christina Dufault. Game 2's go-ahead goal went to Dufault as well as she proved her playing abilities. Rehaven bounced back at home in Games 3 and 4, getting game-winners from LW Louise Florance. The momentum went to Rehaven with a three-zero shutout win in Game 5, with Florance scoring a hat trick, but the Comets pushed the series to seven games with a gutsy two-zero performance in Game 6. Game 7 went to overtime, but after the GK's blocked two apiece, Florance pushed the puck past GK Mia Charon for the win and the upset in the series.
Quarterfinals

(1) Newshanville Pilots vs. (8) Esul Sonics
Newshanville Pilots 3–1 Esul Sonics
Newshanville Pilots 3–2 Esul Sonics
Esul Sonics 1–2 Newshanville Pilots
Esul Sonics 2–4 Newshanville Pilots (1) Newshanville Pilots win series 4-0.

Esul seemed quite tired after their exhausting series against the Flying Turtles, as the Pilots eliminated them in four straight games. Games 2 and 3 were close, but LW Luna Constance was the key, scoring key goals and assisting other goals that helped the Pilots through to yet another Semifinal. Esul, to their credit, scored a goal in every series, with Erwan Survant helping them stay around.

(4) Vincevol Stars vs. (12) Kanino Wings
Vincevol Stars 2–1 Kanino Wings
Vincevol Stars 2–1 Kanino Wings
Kanino Wings 1–4 Vincevol Stars
Kanino Wings 1–1 Vincevol Stars (2–1 OT)
Vincevol Stars 3–2 Kanino Wings (4) Vincevol Stars win series 4-1.

The Wings looked energized after their upset, but the CHL veteran Stars took the series despite losing the only overtime game. LW Konrad Fanguy helped the Stars through with a masterful performance that included an unheard of ten of his team's eleven goals in the series. At this pace, the Stars may return to the finals yet again.

(2) Jackson Flames vs. (10) Manecar Hawks
Jackson Flames 2–2 Manecar Hawks (1–2 SO)
Jackson Flames 0–1 Manecar Hawks
Manecar Hawks 2–1 Jackson Flames
Manecar Hawks 0–3 Jackson Flames
Jackson Flames 4–0 Manecar Hawks
Manecar Hawks 0–2 Jackson Flames
Jackson Flames 3–1 Manecar Hawks (2) Jackson Flames win series 4-3.

After being the first team to come back from three down, the Hawks had the same thing happen to them. Nobody considered Manecar the aggressor in this series, but it turned out to be that way. The Hawks looked like the veterans in Game 1, taking a 2-1 shootout win after LW Lukas Deon tied the game with one minute left. They rode the momentum to two more one goal wins, and then the veteran Flames took over. Three straight shutout wins led by their GK Walter Fugere led to a showdown, and then Jackson won the game at home... Manecar pretty much had their performance repeated on them, and Jackson returned to the CHL.

(3) Iriwati Panthers vs. (11) Rehaven Tide
Iriwati Panthers 1–3 Rehaven Tide
Iriwati Panthers 4–3 Rehaven Tide
Rehaven Tide 3–3 Iriwati Panthers (3–2 SO)
Rehaven Tide 2–1 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 3–1 Rehaven Tide
Rehaven Tide 1–3 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 1–2 Rehaven Tide (11) Rehaven Tide win series 4-3.

Another amazing series occurred between the Panthers and the Tide. The underdog Tide jumped to a three-one lead after four games, with key goals being scored by RW Clarisse Vadeboncoeur. Then the Panthers won two in a row with RD Alexander Belval playing the unlikely hero, taking the series to a tense Game 7 that was won by Vadeboncoeur (say that ten times fast). With their upset, the Baseheft Conference proved its dominance over the Aroharu Conference, gaining all four CHL berths, which was only possible due to the new playoff system.
Semifinals

(1) Newshanville Pilots vs. (4) Vincevol Stars
Newshanville Pilots 1–1 Vincevol Stars (3–1 SO)
Newshanville Pilots 0–3 Vincevol Stars
Vincevol Stars 3–1 Newshanville Pilots
Vincevol Stars 0–2 Newshanville Pilots
Newshanville Pilots 2–1 Vincevol Stars
Vincevol Stars 1–0 Newshanville Pilots
Newshanville Pilots 1–2 Vincevol Stars (4) Vincevol Stars win series 4-3.

This clash between the two heavyweights was a series that showed close games, blowouts, and a shootout in Game 1 taken coolly by the Pilots' GK Simon Friant. Vincevol took the next two games with LW Konrad Fugay leading the way, but Newshanville bounced back with two games to pushed the Stars to the brink of elimination, with LW Luna Constance continuing an amazing postseason. The Stars pushed the series to Game 7 with a one-nil win over the Pilots, C Ryan Beaulac scoring the game-winner. In a tight, tense contest at Newshanville in Game 7 with a spot on the finals on the line, Constance scored the opening goal, to be answered by Beaulac in the same period. Then, in the beginning of the third, LW Fugay scored the game-winner that pushed the Stars to their second straight finals. Will they have better luck this time?

(2) Jackson Flames vs. (11) Rehaven Tide
Jackson Flames 4–0 Rehaven Tide
Jackson Flames 2–2 Rehaven Tide (0–1 SO)
Rehaven Tide 2–4 Jackson Flames
Rehaven Tide 1–3 Jackson Flames
Jackson Flames 0–0 Rehaven Tide (1–0 OT) (2) Jackson Flames win series 4-1.

Rehaven had defied all expectations by actually grabbing a CHL berth. That was as far as they got. Jackson's trio of C Rafael Salman, RW Lisa Eugene, and LW Charles-Antoine Charbonneau from Cotdelapoms shut down Rehaven, scoring goals, assisting, and playing pretty good defense. Their only loss came on a shootout loss when Rehaven played a great game, but really, Jackson had their way with Rehaven, returning to the finals after a one-year hiatus.
Handell Cup V

(2) Jackson Flames vs. (4) Vincevol Stars
Jackson Flames 1–2 Vincevol Stars
Jackson Flames 2–0 Vincevol Stars
Vincevol Stars 0–4 Jackson Flames
Vincevol Stars 0–3 Jackson Flames
Jackson Flames 0–2 Vincevol Stars
Vincevol Stars 2–1 Jackson Flames
Jackson Flames 1–1 Vincevol Stars (1–2 SO) (4) Vincevol Stars win series 4-3.

Vincevol went ahead with a great performance from Fugay, who scored both goals. Then, the Stars went really cold. Their GK, Bernard Vaghold, went cold, giving up nine goals in the next three games as the Stars couldn't find any form of offense whatsoever. Charbonneau scored five of the nine goals in that stretch, with Salman assisting seven times. However, the Stars woke up, shutting out the Flames as Vaghold found his form. Game 6 was tough, with RW Isaquah Hanaros scoring the game-winner, and the Handell Cup went to a Game 7. After a one-one draw and a scoreless overtime period, it all came to three shots from the shootout. Fugay buried the puck for the Stars. Charbonneau scored for the Flames. Hanaros was blocked, and so was Eugene. C Ryan Beaulac buried the third shot for Vincevol, and then C Rafael Salman's shot was blocked to give the Stars their first title in three trips to the Cup finals.

The one and only exception to the "16 goes to playoffs", only ten, or half, will make it. A reminder that top eight are promoted.
