Darwinist Industries?:
We at Darwinist Industries devote ourselves to the betterment of the environment around us. Although we are an arms manufacturer, we strive to have our weapons leave no imprint on the earth and even empower nature itself. We specialise in the power of nature (as you might have noticed) and base our designs on Mother Nature's blueprints. Following the Environment Safety and Caution Act of 1981, we were able to lobby a research grant from the government and as a result extend our research and production into new and more eco-friendly weapons. Since then we have expanded our range of products to the following divisions:

    -Maritime Flora
    One of the main points in Hartford's book was the need to defend the waterways and coastlines of a naturalist nation but not to interfere with the natural order of the aquatic ecosystem. When the New Era Expansion Line was introduced, it featured the first designs for efficient defenses for underwater warfare. Since then the Maritime Flora division has been an integral part of our sea-dependent nation clients.
    -Maritime Fauna
    In conjunction with the introduction of maritime flora, the Maritime Fauna division was its most obvious counterpart. Trawling through hundreds of books on the legends of the sea, our first head scientist, John Wilkinson, laid down the first designs for our Leviathan-class Submarine Carrier. After the Leviathan project was released, the Maritime Fauna division was firmly in place as our major vessel construction entity.
    -Aerial Fauna
    With the maritime department firmly established, the Air department was first initiated in 1969 as a bid for the aircraft market. The aircraft market at that time was heavily mechanised, and a eco-friendly solution was desperately needed. Darwinist Industries stepped in and offered the perfect solution - living creatures, specially modified to bend its allegiance to the highest bidder. After releasing its first models as well as carrier variants for the Leviathan-class, the Air Fauna division was well established as DI's foremost aircraft producer.
    -Subterranean Flora/Fauna
    With both air and sea departments firmly established, company direction turned ultimately to land power. By far one of our most extensive production divisions, the Subterranean Flora/Fauna division specialises in, well, underground warfare. Products in this division are capable of striking targets from afar from beneath the earth they stand, which is demoralizing for any invading army.
    -Defensive Botany
    The main line of research for DI's scientists was always the development of flora and fauna that could flourish in the wilderness of their client nations. The Defensive Botany division sprung into being for the less-wealthier but environmentally powerful nations. This division deals in the defensive mechanisms of flowers and other botanical shrubs and plants, with the sole purpose of making them so insanely sensitive to their surroundings that even the slightest interaction can unleash their terrible power.
    -Aggressive Botany
    An obvious counterpart to the Defensive Botany division, the Aggressive Botany division concerns those nations with a more belligerent attitude. Products in this division can be controlled to do a particular person's bidding with help from our ever-ready training squads. To those on the receiving end of these terror weapons, however, we suggest you be very careful when you see these eco-terrors deployed.

History of Darwinist Industries

Darwinist Industries' Background:

Whilst the world prepared for mechanised warfare at the turn of the 19th century, naturalist advocates had other ideas. One such naturalist was Graham Federico Hartford, distant cousin to Charles Darwin himself. Hartford fantasised of conflicts in the future being fought with the powers of nature. He wrote a book of his ideas, Naturalist Warfare: Nature's Secret Weapons, which has since then become the guidelines for our company's principles.

Following Great Wars of 1912-1923 and 1928-1948, much of the environment was torn up. Hartford and his like-minded colleagues emerged from their bunker to stare at their ravaged surroundings in shock and disbelief. Every tree and living thing had been obliterated for 10 miles around. It was in this sight, combined with Hartford's imagination, that our company sprang into being.

When Darwinist Industries was founded in the ravaged year of 1951 N.E., Hartford and his partners were up against some of the toughest arms corporations in the world. They knew that their ideas were being put to the international test. In 1956, Darwinist Industries rolled out its new line of eco-empowering arms. This line, called the New Era Line, remained the basis for all future designs made by our company.

In the Spring Skirmishes of 1962, the Republic of South Franzlef predominately used the New Era weapons against their mechanised aggressors. Here Darwinist Industries was put on the brink of bankruptcy - if the defence of South Franzlef failed against the invaders, all their banks would withdraw their loans, as well as their shareholders and investors. Thankfully, the defence held brilliantly and South Franzlef was able to mount a stunning counteroffensive in the winter of the same year.

Darwinist Industries' stock value skyrocketed during the 1970s, which was a period known for its pervading hippy influence - no-one wanted the environment torn up again. Therefore Darwinist Industries was able to roll out two new product lines in years 1974 and 1978 respectively. Both proved to be successes, and Darwinist Industries was poised to take control of the biological arms market.

At the turn of the 20th century, CEO Samuel Worthings celebrated Darwinist Industries' 50th anniversary with an exclusive Millenium Orchid Line - a line of the best and prototype weapons Darwinist Industries could muster. But following the United Nations Charter on Warfare in 2002, the arms market took a severe blow as conflicts subsided across the world. Darwinist Industries's stock value fell sharply and stopped at the 3/8ths mark. The stock price today is still rising, but it will never surpass the peak value in 2000.

Today Darwinist Industries operates across the known world, their corporate headquarters located in the heart of Africa, where our products are strongest. Our manufacturing facilities are located deep in the earth, as to preserve the power that our products hold.

The Stinger coral reef was DI's first foray into underwater warfare. By modifying the sensor characteristics of the coral towards fish and other foreign bodes, DI scientists were able to lengthen the range in which the Stinger coral could project its stinger. These stingers are activated by the mere displacement of the target ship's hull in the water. Once detected the coral reef would fire a barrage of tiny but armor-piercing needles at the hull, which would then create undetectable holes in the hull, thus sinking the offensive ship.

By injecting iron-enhancing minerals into the DNA of the seaweed kelp, DI scientists were able to solidify the Iron Kelp into a near-invulnerable state. The kelp would then be assisted by specially trained dolphins to wrap itself around an opposing vessel - once secured, the kelp would harden and secure the vessel firmly there, a sitting duck for an easy bombardment.

When DI chemists concentrated sodium into a near acidic state, they were able to transmute such compressed deposits into highly acidic bulbs, capable of dissolving even the strongest hulls. When encapsulated in a pressure bubble, the acid would remain suspended approximately 10 meters from the waterline. When a ship's hull came close to the mine and displaced it, the bubble would burst, and the acid would be attracted to the nearest metallic object, which would be most likely the offending vessel's hull.

The Flechette Bat was DI's first venture into the military-purpose aircraft market. But yet as soon as it was released, it became a cost-effective, easy solution to all the woes of setting up a new Air Force for starter nations. One of the main strong points of the Flechette bats was that they were versatile - if trained properly they could become true terrors of the sky. The Flechette bats could assume almost any aerial role, such as night surveillance, daytime bombing in sea and land, and even become terrorists in the sky, as the bats were very expendable - you could attach a bomb to one, make it dive right into a jet's suction vent, and explode, bringing the jet down, all while inconveniencing your enemy with over triple their normal purchase price for that destroyed jet.

Training Squads

With all due sarcasm aside, upon purchasing one of our products, how do you expect it to come under your control? The answer to that is very simple. We at Darwinist Industries have round-the-clock training squads that can be posted to your nation to instruct your future handlers to be efficient and deadly in how they manipulate our products. Each division has its own specialised squads of trainers, but often some squads can specialise in more than one division. Here is the current list of all the available trainers:

Undersea Gardeners: These gardeners train your underwater defenses in vessel recognition and accuracy. Each extra day your defenses are trained they become more accurate.
Training time: 4 days minimum
Fee: 1.1k USD per day (No upfront cost)
Bonus: 8 days - Non-reproductive plants begin to reproduce. 14 days - Reproduction rate for all plants doubles.
Naval Naturalists: An essential part of crew-building for your new naval weapons.
Training time: 1 month 10 days for each naval creature in your fleet.
Fee: 320k USD upfront per ship. 4k USD for each extra day above the minimum.
Bonus: +12 days - Most models will acquire regeneration abilities. +19 days - All models will acquire double regeneration time.
Avian Keepers: Specialists in aerial creatures. They train both the creatures and their handlers.
Training time: 3 weeks minimum
Fee: 3k USD per 5 days, 20k USD upfront for each team
Bonus: +12 days - all aerial creatures owned by your nation start reproducing.
War Botanists: Masters of both defensive and offensive control of DI plants.
Training time: 2 weeks for plants, 1 week for handlers
Fee: 2.4k USD per 2 days, 15k USD upfront for all hired
Bonus: N/A
