Banchao Royal Bank
CEO of Banchao Royal Bank, the largest bank in Banchao, Albert Jacobbe has decided to open it's doors to the international community. He has decided, with approval from the Bank Board, to allow foreigners to: Have vaults, safe deposit boxes, checking accounts and saving accounts in Banchao Royal Bank and take out loans from Banchao Royal Bank. He has also decided, again with approval from the Bank Board, to allow branches to open in foreign countries.
Banchao Royal Bank was started in 1720, by brothers Francis and Jacq Williams, out of a small farm where Francis and Jacq held money for their friends and family. In 1728 they received a grant from the Duke of Lisbon, which would be worth $67,250,000 today. They used the grant to expand to an actual building, at 14 Greystone Lane in Lisbon on the 2nd floor of a 3 floor apartment. They eventually bought out the other renters and used the entire building as their first real bank. In 1759 Jacq died and Francis took his share of the bank. In 1732 Francis expanded the bank to include 200 employees, 650 customers and over $12,120,000 in the collective 12 vaults and hundreds of accounts. On his death bed in 1781 Francis gave his share of the Bank to his two grandchildren, Emma and Henry Williams. Emma handled the funding of the Bank, while Henry handled the employment and customers. In 1800 they opened two other branches, in Madrid and Barcelona. Emma took control of the two new branches while Henry focused mainly on the original bank. By 1820 they had expanded to 6 locations, one in Lisbon, one in Madrid, one in Barcelona, one in Bordeaux, one in Avignon and one in Marseilles. Business was booming in 1825 when Henry Williams died. Emma was forced to take full control of the company. After 2 months in full control Emma gave part of the company to her close friend Abril Johnson. Abril was given control over the funding of the company while Emma kept control of everything else. In 1827 Abril was shot and Emma was forced to retake full control of the company. Emma died unexpectedly in 1832, so the company was given to the Chairman of the Bank board Raul Brooks. Raul heard a call from the public for more banks and acted. He opened another bank in Lisbon, Avignon and a new bank in Nimes. The additional banks put a strain on the banks funding, causing Raul to close the additional banks in Lisbon and Avignon. By 1869 there where a total of 9 Banchao Royal Banks spread throughout the Grand Duchy. In 1874 Raul began an era of expansion and opened 10 new banks in the next 5 years. He retired in 1884, with 22 Banchao Royal Banks in 20 cities. After Raul retired Ronald Smith became CEO. Ronald did not open any new banks, but worked on making the 22 already in place the best they could be. Ronald retired in 1912, under fire for not opening any new banks and was replaced by William Williams, the Great-Grandson of Emma Williams. William opened 3 new banks in his first year as CEO and by the time he retired in 1928 there where a total of 38 banks in 37 cities. After William retired Francisco Tullier became CEO. Francisco looked towards expansion once again, but not to large cities. He brought Banchao Royal Bank to smaller, poorer cities. In his 3 years as CEO he opened 5 new banks, making the total in 1931 43. Francisco died after only 3 years and was replaced by Jacob Grey. Jacob saw a great war, World War II, coming and new he had to expand to give the government enough money to fund the war. Between 1931 and 1940 he raised the total number of Banchao Royal Banks to an astounding 62. Then the Great War started and the Grand Duchy remained neutral in the war. People had no fear at all so they put most of their money into the banks, so that it would be safe and gain interest. Sadly, in 1942 the Peseta's value dropped suddenly, and their money became worth less after 10 years then when they put it in. But the Peseta's value rose to a new level in 1945, making the exchange rate 1 Peseta=3.50 US Dollars. During this boom of value Jacob opened 13 more Banchao Royal Banks. On his retirement in 1953 there where a total of 75 Banchao Royal Banks spread thought the Grand Duchy. Over the next 58 years his successors continued expanding and opening new branches. As of Saturday January 15, 2011 there are 87 Banchao Royal Banks open for service.
