As for detail on the grenade launcher and the variants, I'll add them in the next few days. I was just set on releasing this on the fourth of July, but had some problems, so didn't finish all the variants and accessories. But the details will be there ASAP - the IGL isn't a last-minute addition, it has been planned from the very beginning.

Well, you have to upload them somewhere first. For a quick option, try this service - http://imageshack.us/ - it will upload via web interface and give you a link.

I guess he just noticed custom pics in the thread. At least going to the OOC thread - that's a lot better than what people occasionally choose to do.

well, vault 10 used pimpmygun(i think) to make his guns, and has actual pics, not just links, but theres no way to view them as pics on the site, so i figured he knew.

No, no, I'm not touching that stuff, and the pimpmygun would never look like it, it has a different scale and a different look.

Actually the pics of the weapon were drawn by Anghele (that's the reason he is credited for the Visual Design), based on my input. Some later edited with the gradients and text, some not.

Okay, I'm sort of new to this, so excuse my noob attitude. Do the weapons I just ordered automatically transfer into my possession, or is there a waiting period?

In peacetime, no waiting period, all outright.

That is unless you're not buying something really huge, like a thousand ships, which would take years to build, in which case you'd be expected to wait a few days before using them. But that's not exactly necessary as long as they're bought before the thread where they're used starts.

The main exception is if you're buying the weapons in the middle of a war, then you'd be expected to only receive them after the respective in-character time has passed, and only if you hadn't been blockaded (otherwise you'd need to roleplay bypassing the blockade).

Amazing work you did there. I bet it took you a lot of time to make all this. There are some very good ideas here, I think they might even work in RL.

A bit over 2 years finding and evaluating the ideas, though only 4 months in the actual design writing stage.

A lot of things there are, in one form or another, applied or considered for application IRL. The tensioned barrel system, for instance, is used in the championship-level benchrest rifles. The recoil absorption system is somewhat similar to projected naval artillery systems. Others aren't - the energy recovery, for instance.

I've been trying to get as close to being really doable as possible, while keeping the extreme performance envelope, and there are just two things that require technology beyond 2010. One is the chamber construction: while lab-tested microscopically, Be-CNT composites are yet to see any application or even macro-scale test. Another is the optional TS3 Soundlock system: nothing of the kind has yet been tested at these speeds, although slower valves work. Theoretically, I've calculated them for what should be possible, but these are completely untested.

Other things are nearly all taken from other RL applications. As said a few times, firearms today lag very far behind all other fields of technology, mostly because no major customer wants to pay what it would cost to build them to aerospace standards.
