Due to formal requests by foreign corporations and our own rising industries for a further opening of the border and what not so as to step into the international community, The City State of Rhydin Council has agreed to such requests.
The Rhydin International Commercial Aeroport [RICA] was completed at the start of 2009, and became home to a few airlines. With the border being opened to include airline services from other nations not on the blacklist, the office of Aero Transports Services has finally been brought up to speed in accepting new airline companies so as to add Rhydin as both a destination and departure zone.
Rhydin International Commercial Aeroport has three runways available (07L-25R, 07R-25L and 02-20) of 3,743 x 60 meters, 2,660 x 60 meters and 2,540 x 45 meters, with a capacity of 90 operations per hour. With the configuration of two parallel runways.
The third runway is 2,660 meters long and it is at a distance of 1,350 meters from runway 07L-25R, between the Payn and Fumv lagoons. This new runway respects the zones declared as natural reserves located on both ends. This new infrastructure is equipped with runway light installations of maximum category and with navigation systems (ILS) on both ends.
A recent construction is also an airship tethering terminal, as per rising popularity in safe airships has commenced. RICA hopes that international airship lines consider RICA a worthy destination.
A four split(four terminals per letter code) terminal system is used due to the fact that this is the model that best caters to its own configuration conditions, to air companies requirements and to the basic airport processes (aircrafts, passengers, and baggage).
To make available two terminal areas will mean that the new airport will has a competitive advantage:
* An opportunity to work towards the concept of dedicated terminals and to support the product differentiation of distinct air companies.
* The flying field has improved since more than 65 percent of the operations take place in the space between runways and the need to cross runways has been minimized.
* "The travelers' experience" will be improved since they will be moving in simple terminals, with short itineraries and there will be no need to use mini-metros. The simplicity, ease and distances of trajectories inside the terminals are an essential factor in Rhydin, an airport in which more than 60 percent of flights have a duration of less than 90 minutes.
* Having required a much less complicated system with more time saving opportunities, the "baggage process" will improve.
* Constructed additional terminals to avoid any service delays.
