Section 4: Naval Warfare

Logistics Raiders
If you have a lot of land mass or a very small naval invasion, they're likely running supplies constantly via ships. Sea lanes are crowded and the raiders can easily disappear. You can also run a guerrilla war with such raiders and give them to freedom fighters. You can also cripple a nation that relies on global trade to be sufficient.

Benedict Arnold class Commerce Raider: 15 million USD Domestic

Littoral Combat and other small boats
The best way to defend yourself from a more powerful navy is to take advantage of their bloated navy which is designed to shoot at superdreadnoughts and supercarriers. Use lots of small, extremely fast boats that will run circles around their billion dollar ships.

Type 109 "Bumblebee" Torpedo Boat: 900,000 - 1.25 million USD Domestic
Balkan class Guided Missile Hovercorvette: 75 million USD Domestic
Audacious class Guided Missile Hovercorvette: 125 million USD Domestic
Charon class Destroyer Escort: 35 million USD Orbit International

Diesel Electric Submarines
Improved Kilo class Submarine: 75 million USD

Air Independent Propulsion Submarines
Amur class 950: 100 million USD
Amur class 1650: 175 million USD

Superdreadnoughts

A good reliable pistol that is comfortable and easy to learn, and a good deal to boot!

Length: 186mm
Barrel Length: 115mm
Capacity: 20 rounds or 32 round extended clip

I-58 Liberator Pistol (Leafanistan)

A crude single shot pistol it has just 23 parts. It largely used stamped and turned steel parts that were cheap and easy to manufacture. This will ship in a cardboard box with 5 rounds of 5.8mm pointed tip ammunition, a wooden dowel to help clear jams, and an instruction sheet showing how to load and fire the weapon. Excess rounds of ammunition can be stored in the pistol grip. This weapon can actually be produced faster than it can be loaded and on the other side of the instruction sheet is a diagram of how to construct this weapon.

It is now breech loaded to help improve firing speed.

A very good insurgency pistol, and with building instructions great for creating long term irritations for occupiers.

Action: Breech loaded, Single Action
Calibre: 5.8mm
Overall Length: 155mm
Barrel Length: 95mm
Weight: .98kg
Capacity: 1 round + 5 in pistol grip, must be loaded manually
Effective Range: 35m

25 USD

M12 'Venom' Anti-Kraven Pistol

Abstract

Observing the difficultly even close-range ambush fighters had in killing Kraven Capitol Police in Chechnya with even large 7.62x39mm rounds. A new solution had to be devised to eliminate the scourge of the Capitol Police and similar forces for the safety of all peoples. As part of the PROJECT VICEROY specifications the M12 'Venom' is designed for the express purpose of eliminating heavily armored augmented troopers like the Kraven Capitol Police. It is also capable of antimateriel work and can be used against lightly armored vehicles.

Description

The M12 'Venom' is a fusion of two different weapons. The top is the Kinetic Energy portion of the weapon and is a selective fire pistol capable of 2 round bursts, especially useful against heavily armored soldiers like Capitol Police. The round selected for the export version was the 5.7mm SS190, the same round in the FN P90, for its armor penetration capabilities. However, the M12 'Venom' is also available in a variety of calibers, for the internationality of the weapon.

But what makes this weapon unique is mounted beneath the Kinetic Energy portion of the 'Venom'; a smaller barrel, designed for the 15mm Quasi-Gyrojet round. The actual sting of the M12 'Venom', is the 15mm single shot Quasi-Gyrojet, pioneered by Pale Rider Arms.

The Quasi-Gyrojet is a modification of current Gyrojets in production under the classification of PROJECT DEATHWIND and uses a primer to provide a small 'kick' to the Gyrojet and send it flying out of the barrel at a high initial velocity, and simultaneously light the rocket engine and send the 15mm round up to 100m downrange.

When it reaches its target, its contact sensitive charge will set off a toridol shaped high explosive charge, which will create a jet of superheated metal, consisting of the Capitol Police's own Iridian Alloy armor, and of a thin tin layer, moving at hypersonic speeds that will slice through Capitol Police armor, and kill the Trooper behind it.

Construction

The M12 'Venom' is a modern pistol, and uses a short recoil operated, locked breech system with vertically cammed lock. Because of its 2 round burst capabilities, it is a selective fire weapon that allows for semiautomatic, burst and gyrojet.

It is mostly made of polymer with a false wood grip in civilian models and a black plastic in military and police issue.

Caliber: 5.7x28mm SS190 default, 4.6x30mm Leafanistani Models, 9mm, .32 ACP
Length: 208 mm
Barrel length : 122.5 mm
Weight: ca. 620 g with empty magazine; ca. 760 g loaded
Magazine (respective to caliber): 20, 20, 12, 12

900 USD

6MP54 Machine Pistol (Leafanistan)

This pistol also includes a silencer and shoulder stock and a lower and top mounted rail to hold a variety of accessories. It performs reasonably well in close range and gives good penetration of body armour at close ranges. It is a selective fire weapon and fires either 2 round bursts or semiautomatically. It is made of sturdy metal alloys and the weight helps stabilize it. It has trapezoidal sights and a very good 'pointability'.

Type: Double Action
Caliber: 9x21mm SP-10 with a hardened AP core
Weight unloaded: 1.86 kg empty, with silencer and stock
Length: 252 mm less silencer; 455 mm with silencer and no stock
Barrel length: 142 mm
Capacity: 20 round clip or 32 rounds extended clip
Effective Range: 125-200m

1500 USD

G4 Sub-Machine Gun

// Abstract //

Due to the necessity for a weapon to replace the current Machine Pistol arming officers and pilots and such due to it’s unreliability, weight, and size making it a bit uncontrollable the G4 was made to replace it.

The G4 excelled in being visually pleasing, accurate, small, powerful and reliable. It was to replace the MP5 in current use and did an excellent job at it using patented quad recoil springs arrangement allows for decreased felt recoil and increased service life of the Machine Pistol. The frame of the weapon is made out of almost entirely high strength polymers. The weapon also features a large trigger guard for comfortable shooting even with gloves. The G4 is issued with quick-detachable silencers, Novac Lo Carry Transparent Blue Holosight, made in USA by Knight's Armaments Co, and with laser pointing module, which installs on the under barrel, or above the barrel RAIL systems. Despite being ridiculously reliable it’s light, and comfortable to wield and fire making it a favorite amongst gun aficionados. Also the weapon is intended with use of the 4.7x39mm high velocity ammunition which claims 100% penetration of CRISAT body Armour (1.6mm of Titanium plus 20 layers of Kevlar) at the distance of 280 meters.

The weapon features a comfortable soft polymer fore-grip which can be detached to reveal a medium length RAIL mount directly under the barrel for the attachment of tactical grips or laser sight or any other equipment which may be equipped on a RAIL system. Despite that the rifle also features a fully detachable and folding stock for comfortable shooting, or light weight, unhampered spraying on the go. The gun it’s self is athstetically pleasing and light, as well as being a scaled down version of the G-12 Asperitan standard issue assault rifles featuring all of it’s pros and less of it’s Cons. One of them being size and lack of recoil dampening. Also, the weapon if asked, can be made metal detector proof. In which integral parts are all changed to super high strength polymers and ceramics which not only makes the weapon heavier and not as reliable as it should be but it also makes it stealth and perfect operations. Ammunition of course isn't detectable as it is caseless, unless your using a ferrous metal cased/core bullet. Despite that this weapon is a prime choice for Special Operations personelle or Pilots due to it's reliability, simple construction, light weight, and comfortable forgrip and normal grip as well as folding stock. Also the Blue transparent sights make pointing and shooting a breeze, and even easier for repeated shooting because the sight is not obstrucing the target or surrounding it. It is giving the best of both worlds with none of the cons and so repeated firing is as easy as single shots and just as accurate as well.

Not only that but AS 4.7 and 5.7 ammunition comes with a small laminate which completely vaporizes with heat and get wiped clean from the chamber with the expanding gasses. The laminate acts as a waterproofer, and keeps in enought oxygen to allow for oxidation and combustion of the grains. Which in turn means this weapon can theoretically be fired in the vaccum of space or in underwater conditions(Not Recommended). Another reason 4.7 and 5.7 were chosen as the weapons main ammunition choices were that the bullets begin to tumble after a rather short distance causing much hydrostatic shock. Which in turn equals lots, and lots of stopping power, and not only that but range shouldn't be a concern with bullet tumbling as range would be concerned with use of Rifles or SMG's. The weapon also featues ajustable barrel weight rods which are are packaged with the gun. The rods are weighed at 5 lbs meaning, when inserted, make the gun 10.5 lbs total. The small cast-iron knob located just above and infront of the trigger guard can move the rod to the users prefrence making kick and uncomfortable felt recoil only small niuscences.

Revolving Personal Defense Weapon (Leafanistan)

Produced by the Sokolov Design Bureau within General Resources Incorporated, this is meant as a 'Personal Defense Weapon' or a powerful weapon meant for second-line troops. They are now finding acceptance as replacements for submachine guns and pistols from the proliferation of cheap body armor. Most PDWs fire toned down rifle rounds.

However sometimes you need the full power of a rifle round. That is the reasoning behind the RPDW-556/545. The 556 and 545 are designations numbers from what rifle round that the revolver fires.

The gun itself is a rather normal 7-shooter revolver with a reinforced rear and a long barrel with a forward grip. There is also a folded 10" wire stock to add extra control.

Height: 6"
Width: 1.75"
Barrel Length: 10"
Overall Length: 16" (wire stock folded), 26" (wire stock out)
Weight: 5 pounds
Number of shots: 7 shots
Choose Calibre: 5.56 NATO, 5.45 WP

DMR-165 Next Generation Designated Marksman Rifle

Designed to share up to 50% parts commonality with the AK-165, the DMR-165 is unusual as it is a bullpup style weapon and even stranger, comes with a selective fire mode.

The basic action of the DMR-165 rifle is inherited from AK-165 rifle - it is a gas operated, rotating bolt design with 2 lugs. The unusual part of the rifle, inherited from the AK-165, is the ability to fire in full automatic. Selection of the mode of fire is determined by the pull on the trigger - short pulls produce single shots, and long, deliberate pulls produce automatic fire.

Due to the bullpup layout, the buttplate is attached directly to the receiver, the pistol grip and scope mount are moved forward. The barrel has been shortened and equipped with combination flash hider/muzzle brake device. An integral folding bipod is attached to special rod, which runs forward from receiver. This is done to relieve the barrel from stresses generated by bipod. The bullpup design and burst fire feature ensure that troopers with the DMR-165 are not singled out as 'snipers' and can provide effective automatic fire in a close quarters fight. Iron sights are standard.

The rifle ships with a 4x scope set up for ranges between 100m to 1500m thanks to the effective sub minute arc groups (MOA), and a 10 round magazine.

Caliber: 6.5 mm Grendel
Operation: gas-operated, rotating bolt with two lugs
Capacity: 10 round detachable box magazine or 30 round magazine from AK-165
Weight: 5.5 kg with magazine, telescope sight and bipod
Length: 900 mm
Barrel Length: 520 mm
Rate of Fire: 700 rpm

Price: 1200 USD

SR-762 Minuteman Designated Marksman Rifle

Another family member of the AR-550, BR-545, and MG-560, the SR-762 uses 7.62mm ammunition to achieve its extra range. It is therefore incompatible with the previous versions, yet shares many of the same parts.

It has a much longer barrel, bipod, and uses a 15 round magazine. It includes the bayonet mount for close range combat as a pike.

The body is mainly polymer construction with a rifled carbon-steel barrel and the remainder are stamped steel parts. It resists rust, and can be left submerged for long periods of time, dried and fired.

It is a bullpup sniper rifle with a side loading magazine with downward ejecting casings. Unusual yes, but it allows easy firing within a vehicle, reduced muzzle blast, and an overall smaller footprint with the same barrel length.

Choose Caliber: 7.62*39mm
Action: Kalashnikov Gas System
Weight: 2.5 kg (with empty magazine); 2.8 kg (with loaded magazine)
Length: 750 mm
Rate of fire: 500 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 15 round box magazine
Effective range: 850m

MosinNagent 2010 Piercer Sniper Rifle (Jeffrey the Black)

This sniper rifle uses a 7.62mm/5.56mm "squeeze barrel" to fire a discarding sabot round at 6300 feet per second.
The casing is a standard 7.62x54R
The sabot is light weight plastic
The projectile is a standard 5.56mm "Green Tip" SS109 armor piercing projectile.

As the projectile rides down the barrel, the plastic sabot is compressed, maintaining an excellent gas seal to produce additional muzzle velocity. Rifling is 1x12 on the long barrel, causing enough spin to make the sabot disintegrate as it leaves the muzzle.

When hitting "soft" targets, the projectile's high rate of spin causes it to shatter into many small fragements after entry, allowing substantial energy dump.

When hitting "hard" targets, the armor piercing core of the SS109 tears through most light armor, even though the softer exterior is stripped away.

The extreme speed of the projectile gives a very flat trajectory, allowing easy shooting at long ranges.

BR-545 Reservist Battle Rifle

Katana Corporation after losing the contract for their SR-21 (Superior Rifle for the 21st Century) to Sierra Visions Incorporated's KF11 Caseless Rifle was that while superior characteristics were great, that what really mattered in the end was the bottom line.

Shortly after they started Project Brigand which resulted in the Budget weapons family that Katana Corporation has successfully sold around the world, and has been involved in conflicts in Helexo to Kamasha.

The BR-545 was the precursor rifle to the AR-550 and was meant as a weapon for second-line forces that weren't necessarily in the main fighting but perhaps needed to fight also. The other family members are the MG-560 Militiaman, and the SR-762 Minuteman.

The body is mainly polymer construction with a rifled carbon-steel barrel and the remainder are stamped steel parts. It resists rust, and can be left submerged for long periods of time, dried and fired.

It is a bullpup semiautomatic rifle with a side loading magazine with downward ejecting casings. Unusual yes, but it allows easy firing within a vehicle, reduced muzzle blast, and an overall smaller footprint with the same barrel length.

Choose Caliber: 5.45*39mm Russian or 5.56 NATO
Action: Semiautomatic Kalashnikov Gas System
Weight: 2.3 kg (with empty magazine without bayonet); 2.5 kg (with loaded magazine)
Length: 800 mm
Rate of fire: 450 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 25 rounds
Effective range: 450 m (area target)

Automat Kalashnikova Model 6.5 Grendel: AK-165 Grendel

Image

Using the proven AK as the model for a new version chambered for the superior ballistics of the 6.5 Grendel, the AK-165 is the next generation of affordable, yet high quality rifles.

The AK-165 was designed to use the high performing qualities of Western arms with its 3 Picatinny rails, mounted left, right and top center, allow the use of dozens of after-market accessories like scopes, laser sights, or even advanced ballistic computer sights found on newer assault rifles, colloquially called 'SmartGun' systems. Its design is also meant to ease logistical concerns for militaries that are seeking a major arms upgrade without wishing to spend a lot of money retraining their men on the use of different guns.

The same proven Kalashnikov action and machinery is still present, ensuring that even armies with even basic understanding of how to use an AK-47 will be able to use the AK-165.

The new ammunition is what makes the AK-165 an exciting choice for armies seeking to advance themselves. The Grendel is an ideal middle ground between the 5.56 mm NATO and the 7.62 mm NATO and their Warsaw Pact counterparts the 5.45 mm R and the 7.62 mm R, taking the best attributes of each. It has a flatter trajectory and retains greater terminal energy at extended ranges than either of these cartridges due to its higher ballistic coefficient. Production rifles have consistently achieved sub–minute of arc (MOA) groups at test ranges out past 600 meters. All of this means the AK-165 will blow away your soldiers on its improved performance and will certainly blow away your enemies when they think they are safe.

Weight: 3.4 kg
Length: 943 mm
Barrel length: 415 mm
Calibre : 6.5 Grendel
Action: Gas operated rotating bolt with 2 lugs
Rate of fire: 700 rpm
Muzzle velocity: 765 m/s
Effective range: up to 600 m (area)
Feed system: 30 rounds bakelite magazines

AR-550 Conscript Assault Rifle

As part of the bottom line family of weapons Katana Corporation has produced, the AR-550 conscript stands out as one of the most successful. While the BR-545 has gained notoriety as a good entry rifle for hunters, the AR-550 has proved itself in Helexo and various other skirmishes over oil.

It is of a similar design except slightly shorter, as the assault rifle doesn't require the degree of accuracy that the battle rifle requires. It uses a 50 round magazine because of its status as a spray and pray weapon.

The body is mainly polymer construction with a rifled carbon-steel barrel and the remainder are stamped steel parts. It resists rust, and can be left submerged for long periods of time, dried and fired.

It is a bullpup rifle with a side loading magazine with downward ejecting casings. Unusual yes, but it allows easy firing within a vehicle, reduced muzzle blast, and an overall smaller footprint with the same barrel length.

Choose Caliber: 5.45*39mm Russian or 5.56 NATO (default) or 5.8mm Chinese
Action: Kalashnikov Gas System
Weight: 2.2 kg (with empty magazine without bayonet); 2.5 kg (with loaded magazine)
Length: 675 mm
Rate of fire: 510 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 50 rounds
Effective range: 250 m (area target)

CFR-12

Several Major Leafanistani Companies were contracted 13 years ago to manufacture a rifle cheaper than $175 US and still show a profit. The General Resources entry, the CFR-X6 narrowly beat out the TSK Dynamics CFR-X4 when the CFR-X4 exploded and injured the soldier test firing it.

TSK Dynamics has since teamed up with Tauron Inc. (aftermarket car parts maker) to produce a stamped, air cooled derivative of the CFR-X4 called the CFR-X12. The CFR-12 uses roller-delayed blowback in which the barrel is fixed and does not recoil. This allows a far lighter operating mechanism for the more powerful rifle rounds. As the bolt head is driven rearward, rollers on the sides of the bolt are driven inward against a tapered bolt carrier extension. This forces the bolt carrier rearward at a much greater velocity and delays movement of the bolt head. The advantage of this system is its simplicity of the design. The smoothbore meant that the range was poorer but when land combat involved just a few hundred metres, it really didn't matter.

The rifle itself is made of a stamped steel body, a polymer grip, with a steel smoothbore barrel and operating mechanism. The rear flip sights are ranged for 50 and 100m. The barrel life is short, only 3000 rounds, which is 100 magazines, and the polymer grip cracks long before then. It's also air cooled and overheats easily with extended firing.

TSK Dynamics convened a group of former special forces hired from Tactical Solutions specialized in guerrilla warfare to test the prototype rifle. They found the rifle's performance to be adequate for close range ambush attacks and the rigors of urban warfare. Though they noted that lack of a front hand guard means the user has to grip the area ahead of the magazine which heats up rapidly or the magazine itself and cause feeding problems. However they offered the solution of cutting open a sock and wrapping the barrel in it and gripping that. The demonstration lead to the rapid retirement of the CFR-06 from Glorious Republican Foreign Aid stockpiles and because the only reason it was legal was for foreign aid, the CFR-06 has now been banned from manufacture or sale in Leafanistan due to its inherent danger.

This is without a doubt, the cheapest assault rifle you will find and beat the General Resources CFR-06 entry and is far superior at the overstated performance of the CFR-06.

Calibre: Either 5.56 NATO, 5.45 R (default), or 5.8 PRC
Action: Roller-delayed blowback
Weight: 3.70kg
Overall length (stock closed/opened): 885mm / 1015mm

ANMC R10A AutoRifle
http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/9964/r10ahh2.png

Background
What it is and where it came from.

Design
The designer of this rifle is almost certainly the infamous Sergei Miklotov, with these blueprints found hidden on his premises following his escape from a prison is southern Agrandov. These plans were followed to every detail, creating an extremely reliable and effective AutoRifle dubbed the R10A by the ANMC. A modular design was used, and this yields huge advantages in the field.

The rifle uses the short-stroke internal mechanism, similar to the R9 family of weapons, to ensure that no firing residue is left within the chamber. This, combined with a relatively low amount of moving parts all coated in long-lasting dry lubricant, create a very reliable rifle that requires little maintenance to function. It is completely un-powered, and although heavy, the gun is very reliable and stable in any position.

The 7.62x51mm custom high-power round is highly effective at long range, delivering well over 3KJ of energy. The weapon is effective against lightly armoured vehicles as well as heavier infantry, with exceptional (but unconfirmed) armour penetration capability. However, the rifle will accept any 7.62x51mm ammunition.

Service
This rifle is currently in full production in Agrandov, although this is insufficient for export. It is in use with various special operations groups within Agrandov and will shortly be equipped as a squad support weapon in the Army.

Fire-tests and combat records show the weapon to live up to its expectations and then some, providing infantry units with a hybrid between Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle.

Background

In 2007, the Imperial Party won the Senatorial and Presidential elections on a platform of expansionism and international re-emergence. This included an increase in military spending and a move towards a more self-reliant armaments policy for the Imperial Armed Forces. To begin this process, the Imperial Government licensed Imperial Eagle Armaments (IEA) Corporation, the leading small arms manufacturer in the Imperial Republic, to create an indigenous assault weapon for the Imperial Legions that would replace the Colt M16A2 rifles being imported from the United States of America. The design brief called for specifications similar to the M16, but with an emphasis on reliability and stopping power.

IEA Corp came up with the Rifle Prototype One (RP1), which went through several design phases. Firstly, several firing mechanisms were tested until it was determined that the most reliable method was the short-stroke gas operation used by the AK-47, rather than the direct impingement system of the M16. There were also tests in using a large 8.3mm round, but recoil problems from such a large projectile forced IEA Corp to be more practical. Looking abroad, they decided on the 6.7x53mm Imperial round used by the Doomingsland DR-83M Tactical Rifle as both sufficient for lessened recoil and satisfactory stopping power. Once tests were successful, the weapon was re-designated the Machine Rifle Seventeen (MR-17) and officially put into production.

The MR-17 is designed to be a reliable, fast-firing weapon similar in respects to the M16A2 and the venerable AK-47. Utilising the short-stroke firing system, the MR-17 avoids the increased frequency of fouling found in the direct impingement system of the M16, resulting in less maintenance and an increased lifespan for each weapon. Similarly, the MR-17 is built to reduce weight, and uses a lighter frame-based buttstock to reduce the overall effort to carry. The MR-17 is also easier to maintain due to the ease in which to dissasemble the weapon, utilising simple bolt-on parts rather than welded sections. The MR-17 utilises a simple, detachable rear ironsights that can be replaced with a variety of telescopic instruments produced by IEA Corp. The weapon is to begin phased acceptance by the Imperial Armed Forces, and is expected to become the sole primary arm of all branches within three months.
