As smoothbore tank guns are clearly more popular and more types of ammunition are being developed for smoothbores, we want to replace the rifled gun by a smoothbore one of equal caliber. Should the need arise there also has to be room in the turret for a 140 mm gun in place of the 120 mm one.

The sensors and fire control need to be upgraded to be equal or superior to all other 3rd generation+ main battle tanks.

Its armor needs improvement as well. Chobham armor seems very popular. We need to purchase a tank that makes use of this so we can learn how to produce it and use it for this upgrade.

The auto loader needs to be replaced as well, offering greater rate of fire as well as greater ammunition capacity.

We expect the new version to be around 10 tonnes heavier so we also need to improve its suspension and give it a more powerful engine of 1500 hp or so. This is also to provide the tank with a max.road speed of 70 kmh +.

Also it needs to have greater and adjustable ground clearance. This new suspension is to provide that.
