TYPE 300 SMG

The Type 300 SMG is a newest version of Nihonese SMG produced by Murata company, which entered service in 1979. Already very popular in Nihonese police and special forces, the Type 300 SMG was nicknamed "Kogai by the special forces of Kaigun Rikusentai (Naval Special Landing Force). Named after spike worn by samurai and used to mark the dead, this SMG was given this name thanks to penetration power of 7.7x25mm Arakawa bullet, much greater than one offered by 9x19mm bullets used in many modern pistols. The 7.7x25mm Arakawa round was proven to be more than enough to pierce light bulletproof vests worn by many criminals in Nihon. In addition this weapon in all versions proven to be favourite of anti - communist guerilla groups which were supplied by the shogunate, due to it's compact size and usefulness in combat. It was used by National Republican Volunteer Corps of Jaharnapura and Annamese black tigers. Cuscatlani commando sombre was also seen using this weapon in battle. The current version sold is newly upgraded Type 300 / 12, introduced in 2012, which features more ergonomic grip and RIS rail system.

The Type 300 / 12 is a compact sub machine gun with 75cm of length with expanded stock and 45cm long with the stock folded. The weapon has been made with newest generation composites and fieberglass - reinforced polyamide.. The trigger and safety mechanisms were taken from AK - derivative rifles extensively used by Imperial Nihonese Army. The straight magazine holding 22x 7.7x25mm Arakawa rounds of is placed in front of the pistol grip. The stock can be folded. The weapon was outfitted with five 20mm RIS systems; four on it's hand guard and one on top of the upper receiver.

General internal build of Type 300 is based on the Ak rifle series also: the selector and ejection port are all placed on right side of the receiver, similar to AK series. The fire mode, either single or continuous, can be changed by lowering or moving up the selector. Firing system is a simple closed bolt straight blowback type as used in AK rifle series.

The major strength of this rifle is it's 7.7x25mm Arakawa round. It has been proven during the tests that 7.7x25mm Arakawa has much more penetration power than 9x19mm round, and can with ease defeat PASGT helmet or lightweight bulletproof vests (NIJ Level 1). A new Type 300T variant with 50 round tube magazine has been also released.

TYPE 24 Recoilless rifle known also as "Mawashi Geri", which means "roundhouse kick" and is taken from Nihonese martial arts terminology is produced by Murakami Armaments recoilless rifle which entered production in it's first version in 1947, however the recent version (V3) in sale is from 2010. Originally used to combat enemy tanks, this 90mm recoilless rifle is today used by Nihonese army as bunkerbuster, and is famous by it's service in Riysan reunification wars in early 70s, where it scored relatively well against T62 and M48 tanks. Today this weapon is commonly used by various anti - communist militias and insurgent groups which favour the fire power it provides - this weapon has been found in equipment of paramilitary groups such as CADI or Contre - Rouje from Inyourfaceistan and Commando Sombre from El Cuscatlan. Tough not as popular in Nihonese army as it used to be, the weapon still enjoys huge popularity world wide.

TYPE 24 is operated by two man crew, the ammo bearer/reloader and the shooter who also carries the rifle during the time when it is not deployed. While the rifle was generally used from the ground via monopod or bipod, it can also be fired from kneeling or prone position. Recoilless rifle itself in it's modern version weights 8 kg (tough original one from 1947 was 12kg, and 1969 one is 9kg) and is shaped like a long tube, with the ending expanded. For aiming purposes, TYPE 24 has been outfitted with x3 optical sight. The bipod is placed in the front, and it's ergonomic shape allows it to act as front grip when dissembled. Rate of fire is 5 rounds per minute with trained crew. To successfully load TYPE 24 operator has to open a breach in the back of the recoilless rifle.

So far, various models of ammunition are used in conjunction with "Mawashi Geri". This include HEAT, HEAP, HEDP and thermobaric rounds with various designations being commonly used around the world:

Type 25 / Type 26 are two versions of the same single shot rocket propelled grenade launchers, introduced to Nihonese armed forces in 1981. While used in different version at the beginning as support weapon for the airborne units, modern versions posses much better fire power than the original 1981 version, being equipped into much more modern ammunition, allowing it to cause considerable damage to various target. Type 25 is equipped with tandem HEAT warhead, while Type 26 is equipped in fuel air explosive warhead. Due to light weight, short length after folding the stock and ability to be fired from inside closed spaces such as buildings or vehicles, Type 25 is also a favourite for various insurgents, paramilitary and terrorist groups.

The launcher itself is composed of aluminium - made launcher which itself weights 0.3 kg, shaped as straight 40mm tube, which is also houses the missile, which is of much bigger calibre (85mm/100mm) than the launcher itself, but only it's rear part is fitted inside. To the missile there are are attached three types of muzzles, responsible for aiming at 50, 100 and 250 meters, the trigger mechanism and folded stock. During the march the stock and muzzle are folded and the projectile itself is locked into the tube with special block, which is removed when the stock is unfolded, unlocking the fire mode by the same. Placing the missile's nozzles towards an angle prevents the shooter' s hands from burns. The system is safe to use in closed spaces such as buildings and vehicles, providing bigger safety for the units. Both projectiles are rocket propelled.

Type 25 is a launcher equipped with 64mm/90mm tandem HEAT warhead, serving to destroy enemy armoured vehicles. The projectile, weighing 4.5kg, has capability of penetrating 620mm of armour - enough to destroy most modern APCs/IFVs, older tanks, and modern tanks, tough only through shot at the least armoured parts such as rear of the vehicle. As all tandem HEAT, it was created to defeat to defeat reactive armour; in fact, it are two warheads, from which first destroys the reactive armour and second penetrates the tank itself. It is equipped with contact fuse.

Type 26 is a thermobaric (fuel air explosive) 100mm projectile created for destruction of fortifications and buildings as well for anti - personnel duties, with 2.4kg weight.

Arakawa Type 2 replaced Arakawa Type 1 battle rifle in 1948, and almost instantly became as big symbol of Nihonese military as AK rifle is a symbol of Russian military. Similarly to eastern Europeans calling all rifles "Kalakh" Nihonese use to call most of their rifles "Arakawas" as the name was derived from this rifle. It served in Nihonese military as major infantry rifle from 1948, when it was introduced, up to 1964, when it was replaced by Type 3 Assault Rifle, which served up to 1989. During that time, Arakawa Type 2 became famous on almost all battlefields of Furukuran sea, from Biao to Tong. It was also exported to foreign countries, certain versions of it serving in Riysan re - unification wars. Even if withdrawn from use as standard infantry rifle, it is still used sometimes as designated marksman rifle by the Nihonese military, by various civilians and paramilitary groups. The rifle is popular self - defence tool in Nihon, kept by many families. Currently also modern version commonly called "tactikawa"

The rifle itself was created to be proficient on long distances, and remained in service so long because of Nihonese military doctrine favouring ambush fighting. It is 108cm long, and is made mostly of wood, with the mechanism and magazine made of steel. Whole construction weights 3.8kg, and it's barrel is 57cm long. The rifle itself is semi - automatic, magazine fed, shooting 7.7x45 mm Arakawa. The gas system, alongside the piston (equipped in it's own separate return spring), was placed below the barrel of the rifle. The bolt carrier operates a titling bolt, mounted inside the bottom of the receiver. Unique characteristic of this rifle was a sliding bolt cover, which slides back alongside the bolt. This feature was designed with operating the rifle in harsh tropical environment of various regions of Furukuran sea. The box magazine housing 12 rounds is made out of two clips per six bullets each. Additionally a gas cut-off system was installed within the rifle (this feature was implemented to allow shooting rifle grenades from it). The safety system was implemented in form of a rotating knob, at the end of the bolt. The barrel itself was given a place to mount the knifed bayonet, and a flash hider. While the rifle has both front and rear sight, there is an option to mount various scopes on it. Modern "tactikawa" has 20 round magazine and is made of high quality polymers, with four RIS railsways designed to mount additional equipment being placed on every side of the rifle.

The high stopping power of 7.7x45mm bullet proven to be effective in many environments. It was well valued by Nihonese soldiers fighting in Suang due to favouritism of close - range attacks by the Buddhist fanatics. The rifle has effective distance of 400m, 900 if an optic scope is attached. Modern versions have been also re chambered for various other calibres (such as 7.6x39 AK round) by various users. There is fabric option of doing that, and should be stated upon request.

Type 5 man portable air defense system known as "Rakurai" which means "Thunderbolt", is the most popular Nifonese man portable air defense system. "Thunderbolt" is a development of a long line of products that had first been introduced in 1998, with the recent version having entered service in 2014 after several modernizations, including new IFF and sights system, as well as modernization of the missile itself. Rakurai is a short range, man portable air defense system designed to engage low-flying targets, such as attack aircraft, UAVs and helicopters.

In it's design, Type 5 is a solid propellant, passive homing (thermal imagining) fire and forget missile placed within single tube. The system itself is 160cm long, weights 13.9 kg and can be fired by single person, although it is advised that the system will be operated by a two - man team. This weapon consists of three elements: a missile tube, a detachable grip stock and a battery coolant unit (BCU). The tube itself is equipped with places to attach the grip stock sight allowing for both day and night operations as well asIFF (identification friend or foe) module, to be included. There is no possibility to reload the tube on the field of battle - after the missile is fired, the gripstock and inserted into it BCU are detached from the main body and placed onto another. The battery coolant unit consists of thermal battery (electrolyte and two electrodes), providing energy for the pre launch phase of the missile, and liquid nitrogen tank for cooling of the missile seeker's head. Rakurai is fired through pressing the button on the gripstock.

The missile seeker is located in top part of the missile and operates within InfraRed spectrum, homing after the heat produced by aircraft engines. It is a two colour / dual band cooled imagining seeker, using imagining IR, through which it is much more easily capable of distinguishing between the targets, as well as is characterized by high resistance to countermeasures used by modern aircraft and grants it all - aspect capability. The seeker is gimbal - mounted and stabilized by a gyroscope, giving it good scan capability and allowing for tail chase. Missile uses proportional guidance (PN) to guide itself on target. To control the flight, two sets of canards were placed on missile's hull. Annular blast fragmentation warhead installed on Type 5 weights 2.3 kg, and combines ring - shaped explosion force with a series of tungsten rods, used to inflict bigger damage. This system was created with idea of downing the heavy armored soviet - made helicopters operated by communists states of South Furukuran Sea. Proximity fuse detonates the warhead approximately 90cm from the aircraft, giving enough space for the tungsten rods to disperse and follow the blast wave, inflicting bigger damage. The dual stage warhead consists of two boosters; first of which burns out before the missile leaves the tube, pushing it out. Then the sustainer activates itself, giving the missile an average flight speed of 700 meters per second.

Type 5 Rakuraki is not limited to being operated from the ground. A Type 51 "Kaminari" (thunder) version was developed for use with helicopters. Type 5 can be also used with tripod launched four - missile stations, either operated from ground or mounted on a vehicle.

Arakawa Type 8 Assault rifle

Arakawa Type 8 is an assault rifle from the Empire of Greater Nihon, commonly used as main armament of Imperial Nihonese Army and Imperial Naval Special Landing Forces (Kaigun Rikusentai), while Imperial Nihonese Guard prefers bullup Type 7 rifle, being copy of a Nachmerian design. Arakawa Type 8 was adapted into Nihonese service in 2013, and after positive field tests, was delivered to all combat units, phasing out previously used Type 6 rifle based on ARI - 72 Barak. The weapon has successfully seen combat in Wenchuan, where used by National Counter Revolutionary Army it has proven to be very effective.

In general, Type 8 is 970mm long with stock unfolded and 715mm with the stick unfolded. Contrary to AK rifles, however, Type 8 features short stroke gas piston system as opposed to long stroke employed by AK series, which removes the gases from the tube by a moving tappet, which by withdrawing back unleashes the gases into the air, outside from the operator. - thus greatly increasing accuracy during firing. During the motion, kinetic energy gathered during the withdrawal allows the system to be repeated and thus, to continue firing. Due to heavy use of rifle grenades by INA, gas piston of Type 8 rifle has been equipped with a manual gas regulation system that allows the user to successfully fire multiple models rifle grenades in use. The Barrel, being 415mm in length, is located beneath the gas piston, with advanced rifling system providing better accuracy during the shot itself. A protected front sight was been placed above gas piston. For better efficiency the barrel was equipped with an efficient vortex - styled flash guard, significantly reducing the flash during firing. Several types of attachments including a bayonet or rifle grenades can be mounted on Type 8. Responsible for ignition is a rotary bolt.

The weapon features an AK - style receiver with several modifications. First, the body of the receiver is made of high quality stamped steel, giving the rifle very good survivability. Second, the top cover of the receiver has been hinged to give the equipment mounted on it better stability. The ejector is located at weapon's right side and features a sliding bolt cover designed to protect the bold from harsh tropical environments met in south Furukuran sea. It's location and placement allows also feeding the mechanism with ammunition stripper clips in case of emergency. A single straight magazine is located in lower portion of the receiver. Behind it is a pistol grip with trigger mechanism. Fire selector has been located on left part of the receiver. Being switched via thumb movement, the selector allows to choose four modes; safety (locked), single fire, three round burst and fully automatic fire. Additionally picatinny rail were mounted on both front grip and on the receiver. Standard variant features also a detachable HK - inspired drum sight, with option to mount several other sights such as red dot on the rails.

The stock, made of composites, is folded unto left, allowing the weapon to be easily transported. Main version features 26 round 6.45x45mm Arakawa rounds arranged in two rows, with option to replace wit 40 round magazine or drum magazine.

TYPE 32 "HIRAKEN"

During the cold war, various popular recoilless rifles have been utilized on massive scale by the Imperial Nifonese Army. Even after the primacy of anti tank power was handed over to the anti-tank guided missies, the recoilless gun remained in widespread use within the reserve & territorial defense forces. At the beginning of XX century, the Imperial Nifonese Army realized that it's old recoilless guns have become obsolete and required imminent replacement. According to this request, Ishikawa Military Arsenal developed a 120 millimeter recoilless gun that was latter designated "Type 32". In accordance with the custom of naming Nifonese rocket weapons after martial arts techniques, Type 32 had been dubbed "Hiraken" (Half closed fist). Type 32 can be fielded at level of a battalion or a company, depending on client's requirements.

Crewed by two - three soldiers, Type 32 is 1200 milimeters long, weighing 10 kilograms empty, reusable tube 120 millimeter caliber recoilless gun. It's hull had been constructed from durable fiberglass, and features fire control system to the left, while the launching unit had been located below. The launching unit features the trigger with safety switch, the tripod/front grip as well as the stock. Projectiles are kept within separate tubes, which are then inserted into the rear of the weapon. Upon pressing the trigger, the projectile is ignited, sending all of it's energy into the container, which is then ejected by the stream generated by the projectile's launch, minimizing risk to personnel finding themselves around the weapon.

While HIraken comes with a tripod, permitting it to wait in ambush camouflaged for the right moment to fire, it's fully possible to be fired from the shoulder as long as the operator is aware of the massive blowback the firing will generate.

Hiraken's fire control system is rather simple and consists of an optical sight with a single night vision channel capable of detecting targets as far as 500 meters, a LED display, a laser rangefinder and a fire control computer. During the shooting, the firing process is argumented by the computer's calculations, which actively give the solutions to argument aiming. Reaction time from the moment target is aquired to the moment of firing is about 10 seconds.

The following choices of ammunition are available for Type 32:
- a TANDEM-HEAT round weighing 6 kilograms capable of piercing through 800 mm RHA (90*) at maximum distance of 800 meters.
- a HE-DP round weighing 7.3 kilometers containing 120 submunitions with blast radius of 25 meters, capable of penetrating 400mm RHA - thus killing the vehicle's crew and passengers, at maximum range of fire 1800 meters.
- a THERMOBARIC round weighing 7.5 kilograms meant to destroy fortifications at 1000 meter range.
- an empty training round.

ARAKAWA TYPE 4 (WIP)

Arakawa Type 4 is the first modern assault rifle developed in the Empire of Greater Nifon. Having been introduced in 1950, the rifle has been exported world wide, used in multiple countries and conflicts, and remains in illegal production across the world. Ease of operation and efficiency made the Arakawa favorite choice of many insurgent groups.

Unlike FN FAL-type rifles from that period which use a gas-operated system to throw heavy rounds, Arakawa Type 8 uses a roller-delayed blowback being the first Nifonese firearm to incorporate this system.


Type 4 is fed by 7.92x36mm Arakawa - an ammunition type being a development of the original 6.5×54mm Arakawa round used in bolt-action Nifonese assault rifles, shortened to 36mm and then expanded to accomodate a 7.92 mm bullet. It's a rimless, bottleneck cartidge famed for it's high ballistic coefficients and sectional density, providing the round with stability in flight, resistance to wind deflection, and high penetrating power. The round weights 8 g normally (125 grains), has a velocity of 725 meters/second and energy of 2,100 J.
