Abstract:

The Sovereign Federation of GEAR 1 has partial ownership and fiscal oversight of the national flag airline, Federation International Airways (FED AIR). There is also one competing private international airline company (SILVERwings), a number of international-capable airlines that operate limited service to foreign destinations, and cargo and charter airlines (such as Pegasus International Air Cargo, Kazama Regional Air Service, Black Diamond Charters, etc.) with less frequent stops at foreign locales. Through FAA regulation, the majority of these companies already contract their international destination food services through a FED AIR subsidiary, and now FED AIR is seeing its costs rising for the supply of overseas stations with fresh, quality produce and ingredients for our national dishes, along with the regional and cultural alternative menus offered on our flights to foreign destinations.

We wish to partner with Legion Hypermarkets, recognizing your global reach and extensive partnerships, to assist us in reducing our overall annual costs of providing the top quality food services our customers expect while traveling aboard GEAR 1 commercial and military aircraft. Therefore, under the management of FED AIR Flight Catering, we wish to enter into the following partnership agreements:

1) Sourcing and cost control of local ingredients for our international kitchens. This is the bulk of the allocated budget which is billed back to all of the user airlines and the Federation Government when their aircraft (government and military) resupply at our international FBO stations. Our buyers wish to partner with your local buyers and supply executives to craft and execute a total purchasing strategy.

2) Maintenance support and provision of commercial kitchen equipment at foreign locations. While our domestic needs are handled well by our own industries, costs of shipping and "unseen overhead" are becoming a barrier to success. Rather than support everything from our home country, we would like to contract local assistance through our trusted relationship with the Legion brand. This would include commercial cooking appliances, equipment, food service tools and kitchenware, replacement parts, repair services and lifecycle replacement. We maintain an extremely high operating tempo with relatively small operating staffs, in order to serve all Federation aircraft with their food services, and expect only the best to maintain 100% uptime and availability.

Our current annual line item budget for international catering is NS$ 80,000,000 (GUC 160,000,000) with a goal to maintain the current levels of service and reduce annual costs by 25% over the next five years, or to be able to forecast using the set budget to support traffic increases and surges caused by overseas military activity without using contingency funds for the next five years. An additional 10% (8 million NS Dollars or 16 million GEAR 1 Universal Credits) is readily available for contingency funding.
