Located in Southwestern District of Kenzinia City, the airport was founded in 1992 as the replacement of the city's old airport, Falconia Airport. It was used mostly for domestic flights within Kenzinia, since the international terminal was built in 2012. It operated a single 1750 meter long runway. In 2013, it's length was doubled to 3500 meters and a second runway was built. 6 maintenance hangars were built in 2013 to repair broken aircraft and for aircraft maintenance, all of them are operated by FlyKenzinia. The airport is now one of the largest and most important airports in Kenzinia, passing 8,000,000 passengers and 50,000 tonnes of cargo yearly.
Mr Al-Izzudin Sahid was picked by Rafka Mahendra as the new General Manager replacing himself prior to the election of Mr Rafka as Kenzinia's new Minister of Transportation.
