All entries are evaluated based on: Student Participation/Education, Technical Relevance/Excellency, and Flyability. Bonus points are available for coolness and awesomeness.

This opportunity provides a rigorous concept to flight-ready spacecraft competition for education institutions and to enable small satellite R&D, integration and flight test.

The entire process will take approximately one year.

Space Hub Group believes companies, governments and other affinity groups may want to enter the competition as well. For them we offer commercially available spaces at a fair price.

Specs:

The Nanosat or 'CubeSat' is a miniaturized satellite for space research that has a volume of exactly one liter (10 cm cube), has a mass of no more than 1.33 kilograms, and typically uses commercial off-the-shelf components for its electronics. Some projects may be bigger than a single cube.

It will be used to track weather patterns and enable disaster preparedness not only for New Edom but also for Nalaya, the Late Roman Empire, Jedoria, Gehenna Tartarus and the Ceti nations. Funding for this project has come from the Ministry of Education as well as alumni of Fineberg University.

Project Purpose (60-100 words Modern tech only): Funded by the National Research Foundation and private grants from Pavonis Engineering, COMCON is an ongoing cross-disciplinary program by the Isidium Institute of Technology's Engineering School. COMCON's ultimate goal is to design a proof of concept system capable of providing the entire planet with satellite Internet access through a low Earth orbit constellation of microsatellites. The proposed launch for the Space Hub Group will consist of five CubeSats containing several core communication systems, which will be tested and optimized by IIT students operating on the ground.

Project Purpose (60-100 words Modern tech only): Winners of the 2013 National Science Fair, students from Cambrai Polytechnic (a heavily MST-oriented high school) won an opportunity to work on a real space project. Tethersat's primary objectives are to evaluate the performance of a momentum exchange space tether in altering a satellite's orbit and provide early access education in the fundamentals of rocket science, satellite design, and orbit calculations. Four CubeSats will be launched, two of which will be the ends of the tether, two of which will undergo a series of orbital shifts mediated by the tether.
