Hello I am Juliana Tiloni, CEO of The House of Tiloni.This is a fashion boutique that was founded by my great grandmother Cassandra Caterina Tiloni. She turned one small tailor shop into a big dream. A dream for most people. So here is our history. I hope you like it!.
History of the House
It all started in 1919 when 24 year old Cassandra Tiloni just divorced her husband Giovanni De La Cartolo. A wealthy banker that had some psychological illness that made him obsessed with stealing. He would steal wallets,purses,suitcases etc. He would then put them alphabetical order in neat cabinets. All those wallets etc. were in a secret room and only if you step on this one tile then it will open. Well the maid was one day cleaning and she stepped on the tile and then it revealed it. Then when Cassandra found out she right away divorced him. At this time Divorcement were getting higher in Amandolina since in 1918 Amandolina allowed women to divorce otherwise it was men. So the 24 year old was happy and she had an idea to open a tailor shop. Then the first branch of the house of Tiloni opened and it became popular with upper class women since her designs were the latest and she added her own style to them. She was praised for her stitching techniques. It was a good business and in 1921 they even asked Cassandra if she could join and make some clothes at the Carlosia Fall fashion show (This fashion show was at the national level)
These are some surviving sketches of Cassandra's ideas for the fall Fashion show (The rest of them got burned)This fashion show was a success and her tailor shop became famous everybody was coming there. Movie stars,Wifes of wealthy industrialists even Factory workers. Cassandra really cared about the poor and she made a reasonably cheap line of fashionable for those who cannot afford fashionable clothes. As she became more and more famous her husband kept on apologizing and she always said no. Until in 1930 when she was 29 she married Juliano Pazzi A wealthy banker of the Pazzi family. The Pazzi family had many industries Banking,Automobiles one branch of the family was all army people. She then gave birth to her daughter Maria. Cassandra wanted Maria to use her last name and her husband allowed her. Cassandra was always busy and she only got to talk and play with her daughter at one time, and that was the weekends.She kept on making clothes. This was a dress from her fashion line modern simplicity circa 1966 note:This was her last dress she made.She died in 1968 at the age of 73. She never stopped making clothes until 1966 when she got cancer. She then gave her fashion empire to her daughter Maria who then was 36 years old. She then made clothes according to her mother's style and then she gave it to her daughter and then her daughter gave it to the current CEO.
