What is the Grand Exchange?
The Grand Exchange has been the premier financial institution of the Federal Union of Tali'Zorica since its inception in 1717, although it predates the Union by several hundred years. The Exchange was originally founded to supplement the barter system of the Tali'Zorican region in the early 1300s by providing a neutral territory where traders - even from warring sects of the region - could meet in peace and conduct trade. When currency was introduced to the region in the early 1500s, the Exchange revolutionized itself, no longer being a bartering area, but transforming into a nearly year-round faire of commerce.
With the founding of the Federal Union of Tali'Zorica in 1717, the Grand Exchange became the premier banking and trade organization for the new nation's capitalist system. The Grand Exchange is best known as a stock exchange, bank, and a currency/commodity trading institution rolled into one. Every day, countless Universal Standard Dollars flow within the confines of the Exchange, both in its banking and trading regions.
Until recently, the Grand Exchange has been restricted to domestic trade, but with the International Open Trade Act of 2012 (Tali'Zorican Repository of Laws registry 1 Cah. 118-897 - enacted 2012 27 Mar), the Grand Exchange opened its doors to international traders, and welcomed them with open arms.
What is the function of the Currency & Commodity Trading Division?
The Currency & Commodity Trading Division is a currency and commodity trading group. Nations, corporations, and organizations can enter the world of currency and commodity trading in an easy-to-understand format.
MCX? What is it?
The Main Currency Index. At the founding of this organization, one Tali'Zorican Purr (prr) was valued at 1.2288 Universal Standard Dollars. Each currency is weighted upon its introduction (for the MCX calculation alone, not for the value of currency traded) based on its value relative to the current MCX value, in order to make changes in the index almost solely related to value changes in currency, rather than addition or removal of currencies. After weighting, the MCX is calculated as: MCX=(Total of Exchange Rates*10000)/(Number of Currencies), so the MCX was 12288 at the time of the organization's founding.
Market Volatility is used to figure how much change is occurring in the currency exchange - its formula is (Total of Changes*10000)*(Number of Currencies Changed/Number of Currencies)
