Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions
A Private Syndicate-Corporation of Klaus Devestatorie.

Why choose Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions?

In a nation where rail is often the only link between cities, industries and ports, Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions (IRFS) is the largest, most successful, most efficient and most reliable rail corporation Klaus Devestatorie has ever seen. Some think freight trains can only take good from point A to point B; but IRFS does so much more; we are the strongest link in the chains from Klaus Devestatorie’s mining sector to Klaus Devestatorie’s manufacturing sector, the strongest link in the chains from the manufacturing sector to the international shipping ports, and we return with everything the syndicate corporations of Klaus Devestatorie could possibly require. We feed the people and ensure the people can be fed. Our partner corporation, Imperialian Rail Passenger Solutions, move hundreds of millions of people a year between the largest cities in Klaus Devestatorie. We make Klaus Devestatorie tick, and now we’ll be more than happy to help your nation tick, too.

What exactly does Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions sell?

IRFS sells rail freight cars of various types (flatcars for shipping containers, boxcars, tank cars for liquids, refrigerated cars, livestock cars and hoppers for raw minerals). We also sell secured versions of the most common variants of these, as well as powerful locomotives to pull these cars. Finally, and most importantly, we sell the DPR and raw materials for the rail gauge these run on; Imperialian Rail Gauge.

What’s the Imperialian Rail Gauge, and why is it superior?

The Imperialian Rail Gauge is a quirk of Klaus Devestatorie’s railways. It is, as far as we know, unique to Klaus Devestatorie itself. The needs of a nation that mostly operates on rail has caused the railroads to evolve over time to be superior in several ways compared to standard railroads.

Image

This is a design of an Imperialian Rail Gauge. The first thing that should be noted is that the rails are much, much wider than normal rails. The standard gauge worldwide is rails that are 4ft or 48 inches apart from each other; the Imperialian Rail Gauge is much wider. These rails are 3 and a half metres wide, or 11.5ft wide; nearly 3 times as wide as standard gauge. Trains using the Imperialian Rail Gauge are therefore much, much larger than ordinary freight trains; meaning each train will be capable of carrying far more cargo than a competitor using inferior standard gauge trains.

You will also notice the wires running down the middle of the tracks; these are optic fibre cables. The locomotives use laser and computer technology to constantly relay its position, as well as the size and other details of the train to the operators of the rail network. Never worry about train crashes caused by faulty signals again; an Imperialian Rail Gauge network has computerised failsafes that use this information to detect the potential for future train crashes, and automatically stop them before they happen by overriding the brakes of the trains in question. On top of this, the humans operating the network can use standard inbuilt satellite phone communications to contact the operators of trains, and stop crashes before the automatic failsafe needs to turn on.

It is not necessary to replace your entire rail network with Imperialian Gauge Rail; At the moment, we are only selling freight, and hence it is only necessary to replace the rails on freight routes or simply ensure that new freight routes use Imperialian Gauge Rail. Sometime in the near future, we expect our partner corporation Imperialian Rail Passenger Solutions to also enter the international market. It is possible to buy an alternative variant of Imperialian Gauge Rail (sold as a separate DPR) that also provides standard gauge rails between the same tracks, allowing your new and old trains to operate on the same network. The downside to this is that IRFS is presently not configuring locomotives on the standard gauge to operate with the fibre optic rail technology.

Finally, you don’t need to go through and do all the maths on how much each locomotive can pull before you buy and accidentally end up with not enough pulling power- we’ve kept these calculations simple for your convenience, and standardized the sizes of all rail cars and locomotives, too.

Are Domestic Production Rights available?

Domestic production rights or DPR are necessary for Imperialian Gauge Rail; it is not sold any other way. Railway lines are constructed on site and not in factories in another country; we can and do sell the raw materials, but in order to effectively use them it is necessary to buy the plans, to allow you to construct complicated networks such as railway terminals. Luckily for your nation, all the necessary plans come in the one DPR purchase and actually constructing the rails themselves is an excellent way to provide large scale employment in your nation; in Klaus Devestatorie, the rail network provides continuous employment for millions of syndicated citizens.

Domestic Production Rights are available on all models.

Present discounts on products and to individual nations

There are no present discounts on products or to individual nations.

OOC: Also, prices might seem odd at first, because I'm really not sure on what I should actually be charging for these things; I'm filling a market here that I just can't see filled anywhere else.

Products

IMPORTANT INFORMATION- READ EVERYTHING IN RED BEFORE BUYING THINGS.

It is advised that before submitting your order, you consider exactly -how- a train network works. The following things are NECESSARY to create a working train network.

1) Imperialian Rail Gauge DPR- without this, you will not have access to the designs to construct the rail gauge upon which our products operate on. We do NOT build trains for Standard Gauge (4ft)- we built trains for our much larger and vastly superior Imperialian Rail Gauge. Imperialian Rail Gauge DPR only needs to be brought once- but does not come with package deals!

2) Materials to construct your network. If you have access to steel, concrete and optic fibre cables, you won't need to buy them off us. But if not, we sell them for you. See below for details.

3) Locomotives. Rail cars do not have their own power sources; they require Locomotives to move. Underneath the profiles of the Locomotives is the number for how many rail cars each Locomotive can move.

4) The correct rail cars. Keep in mind what you want your rail network to transport when buying rail cars.

If you find this complicated- scroll down to "Package Deals"- these will have everything you need to start your own rail network. Do not forget to purchase Imperialian Rail Gauge DPR!

Imperialian Rail Gauge

Image

Imperialian Gauge Rail is the most important part of the system. Without a network of these specific rails, you can’t take advantage of the products of IRFS. Domestic Production Rights gives you the rights to build the rails yourself; Modified Domestic Production Rights gives you the right to build hybrid rail networks that allow both Imperialian Gauge and Standard Gauge trains to use the same tracks. See the information on Imperialian Rail Gauge in the OP to determine which is best for you. Both DPRs come with the necessary technical plans to construct network operation centres, as well as many designs for freight depots and terminals. Purchasing the raw materials are not necessary if you can find raw steel, concrete and optic fibre wiring elsewhere, but we will happily ship these materials to you anyway.

Domestic Production Rights: $100,000,000
Modified Domestic Production Rights: $125,000,000
Raw Materials For Rails: $1,000,000 Per Kilometre of rail
Raw Materials for Hybrid Rails: $1,250,000 Per Kilometre of rail

Secure Rail Cars

Never worry about stolen goods again- the electronic security provided by these slightly pricier variants will ensure that nothing that doesn’t have a good quantity of explosives to hand can possibly break into your rail cars and steal anything- and if someone attempts to get in, security alarms will not only go off along the entire length of the train, but to the rail network operators, too.

Image

The Secure Hopper Car is an alternative variant of the Class A Hopper Rail Car. With more than 250m3 of actual space in each hopper, you could fill it with a colossal amount of coal, or indeed whatever you choose to put in there; and know that it won’t be stolen.

Specifications;
Length: 16m
Width: 4m
Volume: 256m3
Price: $600,000 per Rail Car
DPR: $60,000,000

Image

The Secure Boxcar is a variant of the Class A Boxcar. This boxcar is sheltered and hence it can carry all sorts of goods; furniture, electronics, whatever you can think of; and know that it won’t be stolen.

Specifications;
Length: 16m
Width: 4m
Volume: 256m3
Price: $1,200,000 per Rail Car
DPR: $120,000,000

Image

The Secure Refrigerated Freight Boxcar is designed to carry goods that require refrigeration; meats, dairy products, even ice, and know that it won’t be stolen. The refrigeration unit can function on its own power for around a week, or alternatively, it can be directly powered by the locomotives in the train while placing a negligible extra load on the engines of said locomotives.

Specifications;
Length: 16m
Width: 4m
Volume: 240m3
Price: $2,250,000 per Rail Car
DPR: $150,000,000

Image

The Livestock Rail Car is specifically for carrying live animals, such as sheep or cattle. It features two levels of storage for animals; however an unloading facility is required. Due to noted instances of major rustling crimes, Livestock Cars come with advanced security at standard.

Specifications;
Length: 16m
Width: 4m
Volume: 256m3, 128m2 (room for approximately 120 sheep, or 50 cattle)
Price: $1,500,000 per Rail Car
DPR: $150,000,000

Locomotives

All locomotives run on diesel engines; allowing them to run underneath their own power is an economically superior option to electric trains as less money is spent on rail construction, and the trains will still run if the power goes out (consider war attrition). IRFS notes that it is perfectly possible to extend the size of a train by attaching multiple locomotives to the front, middle and back; we advise you do not extend a train beyond approximately 250 rail cars, and we advise you only use the one type of locomotive on each train.

For those of you who aren't quite sure how trains work- Locomotives are the engines; they drive the trains. If you do not have locomotives, your trains won't go anywhere.

Image

The Blackbird is the entry model Locomotive available for international purchase. These are capable of pulling around 15 rail cars each because of its comparatively small engine; however, they have superior overall fuel efficiency than the Vigilant Hawk class.

Specifications;
Length: 20m
Width: 4m
Engine: Blackbird Standard (15 rail cars)
Price: $8,500,000 per locomotive
DPR: $200,000,000

Image

The Vigilant Hawk is the “bigger brother” of the Blackbird. It is capable of pulling approximately 20 rail cars each. It does not have as good fuel economy as the Blackbird, but requiring less locomotives makes up for this.

Specifications;
Length: 20m
Width: 4m
Engine: Hawk Advanced (20 rail cars)
Price: $12,500,000 per locomotive
DPR: $300,000,000

Image

The White Phoenix is the most advanced locomotive IRFS has built to date. It’s powerful Phoenix Diesel engine is much more powerful than the Hawk Advanced engine and far more fuel efficient than the Blackbird Standard engine. It is capable of pulling 30 rail cars each.

Specifications;
Length: 20m
Width: 4m
Engine: Phoenix Advanced(30 rail cars)
Price: $20,500,000 per locomotive
DPR: $500,000,000

Plans for depots, signal towers etc come with the DPR. As for VIP cars, it's something that we'll list down for Imperialian Rail Passenger Solutions to bring out when it comes into existence.

The purchases are;
DPR for Imperialian Gauge Rail $100,000,000
Hopper Class A $20,000,000
Hopper Class B $15,000,000
Boxcar Class A $35,000,000
Boxcar Class B $35,000,000
Flatcar Class A $20,000,000
Flatcar Class B $15,000,000
Tank Car Class A $40,000,000
Tank Car Class B $30,000,000
Refrigerated Tank Car $75,000,000
Secure Hopper Car $60,000,000
Secure Boxcar $120,000,000
Secure Refrigerated Freight Boxcar $150,000,000
Livestock Car $150,000,000

And total $865,000,000

We also suggest you actually purchase locomotives when necessary so you can operate these. But it might be easier to just open up DPR on those as well :P

Greetings!

First of all, I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Klaas von Brinkerhoff, and hereby this letter has been written to represent the dictation of the nineteen Board of Directors, of VMK AG. As one of the largest exporting authority and defence companies in the world, it is of our concern that our land systems are delivered towards their respective destination in a timely, satisfactory periodic manner. With over three hundred nations under our list of export worldwide, transportation & land logistic has always been one of our uppermost priority. We strive to provide the best for our logistical division & service, and hence the reason why we have written this letter towards your represented company.

The nineteen Board of Directors has collectively decided to formally request the possibility of a specialised rail cars designed around the transportation mean of our company's various armoured vehicles and tanks. We would also like to suggest the possibility of whether your company would like to enter into a deal whereby your representative may specifically trained VMK logistical division's engineers and staff upon the proper procedure & maintenance role required to sufficiently utilise the said rail cars to its optimal role.

Regarding price, we would like to announce that our budget will easily be able to cover any monetary cost which shall be required for such an undertaking.

The nineteen Board of Directors thank you for your time, and we humbly await your written reply.

To: Klaas von Brinkerhoff. Executive Director of the Foreign Acquisition & Marketing Division.
From: Dr Eisen Exceltra. Chief Executive Officer of Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions.

Dear Klaas von Brinkerhoff, and the nineteen Board of Directors of VMK AG;

My name is Dr Eisen Exceltra; I am the Chief Executive Officer of Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions. I must admit; I was astounded to receive a letter from a corporation as well known and large as VMK AG so early in our international operations, let alone about a major business deal.

Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions is very interested your proposal, and we believe that a specialized transportation flat car is well within our reach. Research into your corporation reveals that the largest product you export is the Pz.Kpf.W AY2-1L 'Panthera Leo' tank; this tank as you would be aware is 11.78m long with the gun extended forward, by 3.8m wide. Most conveniently, the Class B Flatcar produced by our corporation is 12m long by 4m wide; the Class A Flatcar is 16m long by 4m wide. Both are already highly plausible options for transporting merely your largest product; the Class A Flatcar could potentially transport more than one of smaller products. The only difficulty we can see is actually getting these vehicles on and off the Flatcars; normally, this is done by crane but in the case of a 70 tonne tank it would need to be directly driven onto the Flatcar. Our engineers are examining this problem.

Rest assured, Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions is a highly experienced and capable rail freight operator, and we can easily train your logistical division's engineers and staff on maintenance and procedure.

In short; this letter is a yes. I await your reply with eager anticipation.

To: Klaas von Brinkerhoff. Executive Director of the Foreign Acquisition & Marketing Division.
From: Dr Eisen Exceltra. Chief Executive Officer of Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions.

Dear Klaas von Brinkerhoff, and the nineteen Board of Directors of VMK AG;

I am pleased to formally accept this contract; it is a massive boost to our corporation of the likes that we never expected to see. We are analysing the available manufacturing assets and subcontractors to determine how quickly we can get the entirety of your order to you. We expect at this time that the order will probably be shipped to you; creating a rail link between Klaus Devestatorie and Yohannes might be an option for more convenient delivery of other orders in the future.

We also believe we have a simple and efficient solution for actually getting your products onto the flatcars; using a modified passenger platform, it would be possible to simply drive the tanks onto the flatcars 10 at a time, as if the drivers were parallel parking a car on the side of the road; 10 times as fast as the standard military procedure which would be to drive the tanks off the end of the train.

I hope that Imperialian Rail Freight Solutions can do more business with VMK AG in the future, and thank you for giving my corporation this chance so early.

The purchase comes to $1,325,000,000,000, but there is no way that your nation or Cybus Industries has that kind of money.
