The rain hit the titled, terracotta roof in rapid and heavy succession, slowly eroding the vibrant and bright red painted on, truly a shame since it toke months on end to paint the entirety of the estate. The courtyard was drenching from the cold, thick and totally bothers some drops of almost ice like rain; the slaves and freedmen had tried early to thatch over a roof quickly but all attempts were cut short as the grey sky began to cry. The horses cried with fear as the slush grew thicker and fell much faster now; this was truly a blizzard for the ages and this large estate was truly lucky to be built on the mount.

Inside the fire blazed, its wood giving off a pleasantly fresh and calming scent while candles burned isolated from each other on the windows; the cat slept next to the small inferno, it purred as it moved a little bit closer to the life giving entity. Suddenly footsteps could be heard as Marcus walked inside from the cold hell raging outside; he covered his face and shivered while he made his way to his couch, he grabbed a cup from his naturally beautiful granite counter and filled it with sparkling blue water that only seemed to make the fire more enjoyable before he sat.
