Hey there! Thanks for displaying an interest in joining the CU.

If you are committed to joining, you'll need to enact a public referendum showing a majority of support for CU membership, followed by your government implementing CU law. Once this is done, your case will be placed on the floor of the CU Commission.

So is CU law implemented after membership is confirmed to happen on the CU's end or is it like after the referendum passes w/ a majority but with a possibility of rejection?

After the referendum passes — there is always the possibility of said rejection, which we hope incentivises a more thorough integration of CU law.

In roughly a week time the CU should look to host its yearly Summit this time in Coventry, Covonant. The summit will be on the Cooperative Union Trade and Finance.

This summit will address the following

The CU is yet to agree on a standard trade policy with leaders of CU member states the hope is that a consensus will be reached.

The Treaty of Coventry makes provision for the Creation of a Cooperative Union Social Development Fund. Almost two years later and this is still incomplete this summit should address that and create a proposal for the Commission to enact such policy.

CU leaders will meet to discuss the creation of a Cooperative Union Currency. This had been brought up in the past at previous summit but have failed to reach any final consensus.

CU member states head of government will meet to discuss the establishing of a Cooperative Union Bank

The tentative date for the Summit is April 16, 2018

do we not already have a standard free trade policy? or is this more regulatory-based?

Are we talking about trade with nations outside of the CU, or nations within the CU?

We have a standard free trade policy with CU member states that’s clearly outlined in the Teaty of Coventry. Though we have the CU Trade Board we are still yet to create a trade policy for third nations which the CU Trade Board can operate under.

Trade with nations outside the CU. We have the organization is place but we don’t have a trade policy of how it’s done as we still have countries conducting individual trade with Third Nation and the CU being left out of the equation. This summit should rectify that.

We appealed the CUTB, which allowed nations to individually trade with non CU states... I’m assuming you’re talking about regulations rather than methods of protection?

I forgot that the CUTB was repealed as the Law is still on the dispatch but regardless regulations is still needed. The treaty of Coventry somewhat provides Protections.

Regulations are a touchy business, but just having a regulatory agency in place would be really good. Maybe I'll have enough time this week to finish up my bill...

Give him a final admission hearing in the Commission with Covonant as the Chairman pro tempore. After that, choose a new SecGen and suspend the Commission until further notice. There is no point in maintaining the Commission when nobody wants to say anything.

I would consider you still in as long as your nation IC has not been significantly altered
