Welcome to the post-World War II world. In this alternate historical setting, the custom nations of players sprung up during or after the 2nd World War but the main powers kept intact after the war. It's your job as the leader of a minor nation to steer it to glory or to ruin, you are not the top dog, prepare to face consequences for your actions. The GM controls all the major countries and simulates their actions throughout the Cold War. This is not just a war RP, common events do happen.

The following nations are admin controlled NPCs and cannot be founded in by players: The United States of America, Canada, Russia, France, United Kingdom, British Raj, China, Australia.

Argentine Republic

Nearing the end of the Second World War, Argentina was on the brink of Civil War. The Fascists of Recuperacion Nacional and the populists of Frente Populista were at each others throats and the stability of the region began to plumit. President Pedro Ramírez sympathized with the Fascist movement while the Populist had the support of the former President and his Vice, Edelmiro Farrell and Juan Perón.Both parties held very similar views and both supported the Axis during the Second World War. By 1945, Farrell had seized power and the Populist Party established a Military Government to increase stability in the region and to prevent another coup. Nationalists motioned to change the flag to the one adopted in 1818 with a stronger blue color.

1945. Perón succeeds power after Farrell. The Populist party is still in power and the Military Government is in power. The Second World War has ended and ever growing tensions begin to build in South America. Tensions build between Chile and Argentina over the Patagonian Ice Fields and the dispute between the British Empire over the Falklands still continues. Having been a supporter of the Axis, the US and the Soviet Union have distrust with Argentina because of their unwillingness to join the Allies and because of their allowance of Notorious Nazi Party members and SS Officers to seek asylum in Argentina under new identities. Some even speculate that Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun escaped to Argentina but majority of people believe it to be a hoax. Perón has exclusively stated he does not support the antisemitic or racist views of the Nazis.


A Thriving Buenos Aires

The country has a population 15,654,000 people and has begun modernization to keep up with the Great power of the world. The capital is Buenos Aires Public works on infrastructure, manufacturing, and agriculture have begun. Due to the growing threats to Argentina, militarization has begun. Argentine Mausers are the standard issue for the infantry, prototypes of Argentine STG44's are being tested to become an official replacement to the Mausers. Argentina has surplus Sherman tanks, Strategic bombers, and fighters from the United Kingdom. The Argentine Air force has begun interests in modernization with jet technology. Former Luftwaffe scientists have helped Argentina develop prototype engines and the Air Force has also requested to purchase Jet Fighters from the UK.

The Capitalist state of the Tao
The great Chinese people have been oppressed for the past five years. We lived in hell under a communist authoritarian regime. The only support for that state are other communist extremists, and the so called Nationalists that refuse to stop them. Baring all that in mind, we decided to take up arms in the Macau area three months ago. Over the course of the rebellion, 18,500 civilians died, along with 6,800 militia regulars. This is rather unfortunate, and wouldn't have happened if the Communists didn't brutalize the population, like the Japanese during the Nanking Massacre.
After three months of rebellion, we succeeded, we formed our state and made a ceasefire with the Communists. However, despite the truce, the future of the Chinese people, not looking to be dragged into communist oppression is still uncertain. We're in urgent need of military need, as if the Communists decided to strike again, we probably wouldn't have the strength to fight back again. We urge other countries to send aid to us, and we promise that countries that do will be rewarded.

The BSGC emerges

Established officially on the 10th of May, when Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria signed a deal taking the regions of Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemburg and fortuitously taken parts of the Sudetenland (The regions of Eger and Western Ausig) seized during the Prague Offensive, to a Constitutional Monarchy with a capital in Munich. Officially the BSGC is neutral, however political steps have already been taken to align closely to the US as the political face of Europe yet again changes for a second time in two decades.

The establishment of the Bavarian state was not as simple as a merely signing a constitution and agreeing with the Americans, it had its roots in a coup launched three days before Hitler's suicide, in which elements of the Wehrmacht, Waffen SS and Reichspolizei raised in Bavaria and loyal to the idea of Bavarian independence seized positions in Munich, Nurnberg and multiple cities across the modern state of the BSGC. Owing to this new military element possessing a renewed fervor, and the potential to create a client state loyal to France or Britain, America strongly entertained the idea of an independant Bavaria, and officially sanctioned their independance when the time came to flesh out the new face of Germany. As such, the BSGC possesses a modern and potent army carried over from the Second World War and given respite to rebuild and replenish free of the Treaty of Versailles. This has allowed the Bavarian economy to rapidly rebuild and refurbish, and in the face of the nuclear monopolies, war of ideas and cryogenically oriented conflicts, Bavaria is ready to face whatever threats come her way.

The Republic of Braeton is located on the Island of New Zealand. The nation was formed after gaining it's independence from the British at the end of the first world war, but remained within the commonwealth. The capital is the city of Wellington located at the south-western tip of the North Island. The relatively small population of about 4 million people is growing at a steady pace. The current elected representative of the nation is a man by the name of Jonathan Bradberry. He is currently serving his second term in the republican government. The government is very hands off when it comes the the economy, business, and daily life. The nation answered the call from the British and entered World War 2 in September of 1939. The nation tries to be non-interventionists when it comes to war, but will fight if the need ever arise.

The Kingdom of Spain Returns

At the end of world war 2, after being suppressed by Franco's facist regime for too long the monarchy and the people united and exiled Franco to the islands of Illes Columbretes where he will live for the remainder of his life under the guard of the Spanish navy. Prime Minister Enric Oriol, the conservative party leader has been elected with an astonishing 93% turn out rate, this is the first taste of democracy for the Spanish people in years and they appear to love it. The Spanish monarchy has been reinstated with Queen Beatriu Romá being the first queen since Franco took over.

The nation has a population just under 30 million and has began the refreshment of its army which currently has 59,697 active troops and 139,293 reserves (NS Tracker) the Kingdom of Spain has aligned itself with the UK, US and France and hopes that it will be able to purchase naval ships, aircraft and tanks from these powers to help them fight communism in Europe.

The nations capital is Madrid, the biggest city on the Iberian peninsula. The Kingdom of Spain has a strong and rapidly growing economy thanks to the freedom of capitalism. The Kingdom of Spain has the biggest economy on the Iberian Peninsula.

The Republic of Luxil - September 1945

Under American Occupation: Volume I

Less than a year ago, the Allies launched Operation Downfall, the largest amphibious operation ever carried out in history. The offensive into the Japanese mainland started with a massive amphibious landing in Kyūshū. Despite, Allied attempts at convincing the Japanese that the attack wouldn't come, the Japanese realized it was obvious that Kyūshū would be the next target, and thus prepared and all out defense of the area.

In France, the Germans tried to figure out where the main Allied attack would come, and in the end, they ended guessing and reinforcing the wrong site. Japan was an entirely different matter, the geography of Japan made it painfully obvious of how an attack would be carried out. In order for the Allies to amphibiously capture Tokyo, they would need close air support, and air support from the navy couldn't make the cut. It wouldn't be feasible to try to hold mainland Japan to launch air strikes, so the obvious target would be Kyūshū, where reinforcements from the mainland could be cut off by a naval blockade. The original plan was to occupy one third of the island, and then start launching air attacks, but because the ferocity of the Japanese defenders and partisans, two thirds of the islands ended up being occupied before it was signaled safe to start air strikes.

After receiving news of what happened, knowing that an invasion of the mainland was imminent, the Emperor accepted the terms of unconstitutional surrender, and surrendered to the Allies. There was an attempted coup by the military to prevent the Emperor from surrendering, however it failed. Thus, Japan surrendered on August 7, 1945. Japan was then placed under American occupation, and lost ownership to Korea, it's half of the Sakhalin Island, the Kuril Islands, and all the territory it had gained during the war. Nevertheless, this was better for Japan, and under occupation from the Americans, it was put into good shape.

The person in charge of the occupation of Japan was General MacArthur, one of the more famous American generals during the Second World War. He was quite benevolent to the Japanese, and helped the former state get back to its feet. Eventually, during 1945, MacArthur gave the Japanese an opportunity to have statehood again, sorta. MacArthur decided to hold a referendum for a semi-independent state of Japan, and it accepted with 94% of the vote. The new state of Japan would still be occupied by American troops, but would be given more freedom in their policies.

The Japanese decided that they should start fresh, even giving a new name for the new state. The name Luxil stuck, and it was chosen as the name for the new regime. The Republic of Luxil was founded on August 31, 1945, as a US protectorate. MacArthur, however, said that the Republic of Luxil "Should gain independence within a few years." Luxil is currently leaderless, however, elections are planned to take place soon.

The Chinese new year, a time of celebration, change, and peace. It has always been a tradition that warring factions in China will be at peace for the traditional fifteen day armistice. However the filthy communist revolutionaries from the neighboring regions have no humanity,... no culture spitting on traditions that date back thousands of years, the communist revolutionaries launched an attack on Shenzhen the second bloodiest battle in the conflict. If it wasn't for our President's
expertise in strategy and combat logistics we likely would have lost the city, giving the communists a border with Hong Kong cutting off any close border we have with the UK. The casualties are tragic coming in at about 1,274 for the UST and
896 for the revolutionaries along with about 8 Hong Kong British from incoming artillery fire. The battle was particularly in the favor of the revolutionaries due to the technological superiority our battle worn Zeros are no match for the Soviet supplied La-9s, as well as our rifles the revolutionaries are being supplied "unofficially" with svt-40s from the CCP putting our Arisakas to shame. We send yet another plea for help we are in desperate need of food, weapons, and leaders our armies are in a state of disorder and dismay, Please Help.

Italy Reborn as Asleau

The Hellenic States of Asleau is a large, cultured nation, ruled by a democratic government, headed by Luigi Einaudi. The nation houses nearly 48 million citizens and capitalist ideals amongst them. Asleau is located in the country of Italy, and its capital is Rome. The origin of Asleau is only recent, Asleau was originally a rebellion in the middle of Italy near Rome and didn't last for long as it was stuck down by the Fascist government. After Mussolini's government was defeated, Asleau reemerged from hiding and took on the new Italian Social Republic also headed by Mussolini. After the war was officially ended the people brought a refounding into question, and the people demanded an elimination of corruption. The World War Two armistice didn't occupy Italy after being sided with the axis powers and left opportunity for rebirth, and an elimination of any leftover corruption which the people so rigorously desired. With funding from the United States Marshall Plan, Asleau's economy is steadily increasing each year by as much at 6.0%.

After the 2nd World War, Ethiopians have been rioting over what to do with the country. They decided to rebel and attempt a coup d'etat. It worked and now the whole country is in control of the huge military of the freedom fighters. The military has taken the capital, now New Columbus. The former president has been assassinated and a new leader has been chosen, John de la Amore. He hopefully will lead Segentaea into its rightfully deserven golden age!

Request for an Alliance with The United States of America

As the communists move closer and closer to the borders of Asleau, we must request that an alliance is formed between our two countries. The alliance will include a technology agreement, a trade agreement, and a military alliance. For the protection of the rest of Europe and the prevention of the spreading communism, the technological agreement will grant access to weapons that stand up to the communists, the trade agreement will grant access to produce those weapons and maintain steady flow of troops should a war break out, and the military alliance will make the communists think twice about declaring war on other mentionable powers. Additionally, the paranoiac properties of a nuclear war will also make them hesitate on declaring war at all. With that being said Asleau officially requests a Technological Research Agreement, a Trade Agreement, and a Military Alliance.

History
The People's Republic of the Bulgarian Workers Union is based on the intervention of the Soviet Union during, and after the Second World War. The formerly Fascist Supporting government was deposed as the Soviets pushed through Romania, making an example of what will happen. The Bulgarian people united under the Bulgarian Communist Party, who then took power installing Vasil Kolarov as the President of the new Communist nation. However, the Bulgarians were still punished after the World War, causing them to lose their control on the Slovakian, and Greek land they took while assisting the Germans. Although the power of President Kolarov is very apparent, many people believe the Presidency was stolen from the now Prime Minister, Georgi Dimitrov, who many favored over Kolarov. Infighting in the Government seems apparent in the near future, however the powerhouse of Bulgaria works along the Soviets to push Communism through the rest of Europe.

It has been a month since the Republic of Luxil was established. It's still busy trying to put itself back into shape. It currently is leaderless. Even worse, there's still a sizable starving population, despite American efforts to stop it.

In the aftermath of the Second World War, there have been many changes. And many more are expected to come. For example, Franco's regime in Spain was overthrown, and the monarchy was re-established. In China, the civil war rages on, and now a new side that calls themselves "The Capitalist State of the Tao" has emerged. They haven't had much international recognition yet, and their intentions are still unclear. However, they say that they're in a fight against the Communists.

"The Capitalist State of the Tao" has pleaded for aid, desperate for assistance. There hasn't been any coordinated effort to aid them, or a large effort at all. This is partly because they are fighting against the Soviet backed PRC, and they declared their state in RoC territory, albeit one under heavy Communist activity. Although the RoC hasn't yet sent military forces against the new state, many suspect that they may hold a grudge at them for stealing their territory. Despite this, there have being some efforts to aid the new state over in Japan, although it has been fairly limited, as the Japanese themselves are having some trouble. Some food was sent to the new state by private donors, although not much. It could at best feed a small village. However, considering the state's desperation for food, it might cause a difference.

Also, a flag has finally been adopted. It resembles the previous flag slightly, as it's basically a white flag with a red circle in a middle of it.

Luxil, has been for a while leaderless. To solve this dilemma, it has been decided that the firsts elections will be held. A president and a vice president will be elected, and they will choose their cabinet. It is planned that the government will be built with a top to bottom approach. The elections are to happen before 1946, as it's planned for the new leaders to be introduced for the next year. The first years of the Republic of Luxil are going to be though ones, as many things will have to be dealt with. Most Japanese though, are confident that Luxil will thrive. Right now, candidate registration is occurring.

A History Lesson

After the legal purge in Norway in 1946, Sven Arntzen, a Norwegian council member, appoints Marius Bard as Prime Minister, and in honor of his late friend Mats Berg, who was killed by firing squad during the German Occupation of Norway, urges the new nation to be recognized as Bergamont. Bergamont's new political system derives from the British Executive: King Haakan VII throne Council and Legislature: Bergamoni Parliament. The capital city of Bergamont has been renamed Charnsuka and much of it's culture is much unchanged as the Bergamoni people are adjusting to their new life under a different and safer society and the currency is Kroner. Bergamont controls much of the North Sea and many of it's wealth comes from the oil abundance located there.

A group that names itself the Aljaysh Alttawhid Almaghribi (Moroccan Republic Army) commonly known as MRA has began a protest against Spanish control of Morocco and calls for Spain to give Spanish Morocco independence, the Spanish government has refused to comply with their calls and has said that it would be a 'ludicrous idea'. The MRA has stated in the past that if Spanish Morocco is not independent then the group will launch attacks against Spanish Morocco and eventually mainland Spain although an attack on the mainland is highly unlikely as all African migration onto the mainland by African people is banned.

Due to this, and the potential for rapid industrialization and capitalization from the ever looming international arms race, many companies, such as Messerschmitt, Mauser, Krupp, Arado and MAN to name a few. They have brought their designs to a new company, which owns patents for the designs these companies bring with them. In enforcing this, the company have already issued numerous cease & desist notices to foreign companies and countries that produce their own illegal variations.

Among their arsenal are rights to most of the existing jet designs in the world, the V1 and V2 rocket designs and hundreds of small arms, armored vehicles and military hardware peices. As such the Bayernwerks company is already making huge profit margins selling surplus weapons from WWII to countries like Nationalist China, who have so far bought virtually anything the company sells, with the largest orders being for ammunition and semi-automatic Gewehr-43 rifles.

My name is Furusawa Katai, and I have to say it was a great honor to be elected as the first president of the Republic of Luxil. First of all, I must say, I'm obligated to thank all of those people that have voted for me. Thank you. I promise that I will help rebuild this nation into the pinnacle of democracy.

I must warn all of you, that rebuilding Japan from a war-torn state will be difficult. It will require the combined efforts from all of us. It will be difficult to accomplish, but had harder tasks in the past.

Our history is quite long, even before the creation of the Republic. And, I must say, we went through many hardships successfully in the past. We went from a plethora of tribes, to a united nation. We have stopped a Mongol invasion, in an era where the Mongols ravaged everything they touched. We were the first Asian country to industrialize. Then, against all odds, we managed to forge an empire for ourselves. This brings us to a thing I would like to talk about.

There's a recent trend that has appeared in our great nation, that seeks to defame our ancestors. This is wrong, we shouldn't be shamed about the achievements our ancestors managed to achieve, but rather proud of them. A healthy dose of nationalism is required for any successful country.

Getting into the present times, I would first like to thank the United States, for helping us rebuild as a nation. And I'm confident that they'll keep their promise to give us full sovereignty. However, times are quite turbulent. Since the Great War, many things have changed, and many people have lost their lives. There is now a new threat, and it is called Communism. The Soviet Union, following the Second World War, has forced half of Europe into Communism. They have also divided Europe, and Europe will probably stay divided for many years to come. In China, the Soviet Union is backing the People's Republic of China against the legit Republic of China. I hope that China does not have to share the same fate as Eastern Europe. There's also, this self proclaimed state called Tao. They claim to be fighting against Communism, and however noble their cause might be, I hope they realize that further straining the Nationalist recourses is not the proper way to combat the Communists.

In addition, I would like to congratulate the Bavarian State. They're the successors of our former friends and ally, and I wish them good luck in reuniting Germany.

Regarding our domestic issues, one of the issues I think is most important is education. So I have arranged for free of charge schools to be set up over Japan, so our next generations may be literate. The schools will also teach our children the English language, as I believe it will be a vital language in the decades to come. Also, we are going to help those in need, by providing houses, food, medicine, and other vital stuff to victims of the war. I have many great things planned for this country, but it will take a while to complete them.

The Capital of the DAR is Windhoek in the exact geographical center of the nation. The DAR breeds a hearty and strong people due to its ruff and brutal geography and deadly history. The lack of a native African population is due to defensive wars waged against the barbaric cannibal aborigines.

It was an oblong wire cage with a handle on top for carrying it by. Fixed to the front of it was something that looked like a fencing mask, with the concave side outwards. Although it was three or four metres away from him, he could see that the cage was divided lengthways into two compartments, and that there was some kind of creature in each. They were rats.

'In your case,' said Sergeant Pedro, 'the worst thing in the world happens to be rats.'

A sort of premonitory tremor, a fear of he was not certain what, had passed through Muhammad as soon as he caught his first glimpse of the cage. But at this moment the meaning of the mask-like attachment in front of it suddenly sank into him. His bowels seemed to turn to water.

'You can't do that!' he cried out in a high cracked voice. 'You couldn't, you couldn't! It's impossible.'

'Do you remember,' said Sergeant Pedro, 'the moment of panic that used to occur in your dreams? There was a wall of blackness in front of you, and a roaring sound in your ears. There was something terrible on the other side of the wall. You knew that you knew what it was, but you dared not drag it into the open. It was the rats that were on the other side of the wall.'

Pedro!' said Muhammad, making an effort to control his voice. 'You know this is not necessary. What is it that you want me to do?'

Sergeant Pedro made no direct answer. When he spoke it was in the schoolmasterish manner that he sometimes affected. He looked thoughtfully into the distance, as though he were addressing an audience somewhere behind Muhammad's back.

'By itself,' he said, 'pain is not always enough. There are occasions when a human being will stand out against pain, even to the point of death. But for everyone there is something unendurable -- something that cannot be contemplated. Courage and cowardice are not involved. If you are falling from a height it is not cowardly to clutch at a rope. If you have come up from deep water it is not cowardly to fill your lungs with air. It is merely an instinct which cannot be destroyed. It is the same with the rats. For you, they are unendurable. They are a form of pressure that you cannot withstand, even if you wished to. You will do what is required of you.

'But what is it, what is it? How can I do it if I don't know what it is?'

Sergeant pedro picked up the cage and brought it across to the nearer table. He set it down carefully on the baize cloth. Muhammad could hear the blood singing in his ears. He had the feeling of sitting in utter loneliness. He was in the middle of a great empty plain, a flat desert drenched with sunlight, across which all sounds came to him out of immense distances. Yet the cage with the rats was not two metres away from him. They were enormous rats. They were at the age when a rat's muzzle grows blunt and fierce and his fur brown instead of grey.

'The rat,' said Sergeant Pedro, still addressing his invisible audience, 'although a rodent, is carnivorous. You are aware of that. You will have heard of the things that happen in the poor quarters of this town. In some streets a woman dare not leave her baby alone in the house, even for five minutes. The rats are certain to attack it. Within quite a small time they will strip it to the bones. They also attack sick or dying people. They show astonishing intelligence in knowing when a human being is helpless.'

There was an outburst of squeals from the cage. It seemed to reach Muhammad from far away. The rats were fighting; they were trying to get at each other through the partition. He heard also a deep groan of despair. That, too, seemed to come from outside himself.

Sergeant Pedro picked up the cage, and, as he did so, pressed something in it. There was a sharp click. Muhammad made a frantic effort to tear himself loose from the chair. It was hopeless; every part of him, even his head, was held immovably. Sergeant Pedro moved the cage nearer. It was less than a metre from Muhammad's face.

'I have pressed the first lever,' said Sergeant Pedro. 'You understand the construction of this cage. The mask will fit over your head, leaving no exit. When I press this other lever, the door of the cage will slide up. These starving brutes will shoot out of it like bullets. Have you ever seen a rat leap through the air? They will leap on to your face and bore straight into it. Sometimes they attack the eyes first. Sometimes they burrow through the cheeks and devour the tongue.'

The cage was nearer; it was closing in. Muhammad heard a succession of shrill cries which appeared to be occurring in the air above his head. But he fought furiously against his panic. El Presidente Perόn has enacted the Obras Públicas acto de 1946 (Public Works Act of 1946) to help further build the Republic of Argentina. The act plans on building massive infrastructure such as highways like the Autobahn , schools to promote a better education for Argentine Youth, hospitals to let more people in Argentina have access to healthcare and medical services. This plan is set to complete around 1950 and the Act will provide many jobs for the unemployed.

On February 4th 1946, Ejército Revolucionario del Pueblo (People's Revolutionary Army) stormed the National University of La Plata, taking many hostages and occupying the building, raising a red banner over the school. Their demands are to were to give the Revolutionary Party a semi-autonomous region governed by the party in La Plata but these demands were not met. National Troops were sent to combat these domestic terrorists and an armored car was brought in to provide covering fire and support to the Infantry. By nightfall many laid dead on both sides until the Communists finally surrendered to the victorious government forces. On inspection of the Communist soldiers, it has been brought to attention that many of the weapons used by them were of Soviet origin. Argentine Generals have no doubt that the Soviet Union was involved in the armament of the guerrillas.

The UST's president has announced that now that the Republic is confident in its current ability to protect itself it needs to come out of isolation and underdevelopment the "Tia Education Policy" has created a set of governmental guidelines in which private schools can qualify to teach the children of the UST. The UST offers an alliance with the Italian State of Asleau. The UST has extended gratefulness to the Italian State of Asleau for accept the military trade agreement between the UST and Asleau, and has announced it's support for the North German confederation. In military news the USTA has launched an assault on the neighboring communist territories in an attempt to shutdown the western front, launching a full on invasion to shutdown the communist supply depot in Nanning while it has been a struggle for the USTA to deal with the guerrilla warfare tactics of the CCP in the last couple months but the other day the UST announced it had successfully cleared and annexed the western front with the total cost of lives 1,983 UST forces and 3,423 Communist the first time Communist casualties outweigh that of the UST's.
