History: After Australia declared its independence from the British, the empire became more hostile and agitated, leading to sour tensions with both France and Germany. A short war with France led to the British seizing the Levant, and overthrew the Dutch government in 1910 to set up a puppet government (many speculate it was to get a strong foothold in mainland Europe). Today, a more aggressive Britain spends much of the war effort goes into reclaiming australia as part of their empire, and protecting its colonies.
