Alright so my plan is my guys don't fall in with the normal diplomats, go their own way and run into Coup forces. One will get buried in ruble, but not die, the other captured by the Coup forces. Then the buried one get picked up by Loyalist forces.

A huge space battle is going on right now. Most of the rebel and Loyalist ships are there. Landing on the ground would be OK.

So I've been thinking about some plot points especially as to why my diplomats were dragged into this. And what I've come up with to propose is: the reason all the foreign delegates are there is their Cosmo's Failsafe. He knew this was a gamble, and he also knew the King would try to force the signing again even in the middle of the fighting. Cosmo knows the battle is slowly tilting against him, and so he's prepared to do what's necessary. The ceremony room where the signing is going to occur, is rigged with claymore style explosives. He's going to massacre the diplomats to make it look like the king had them all killed. He looks like the noble field marshal, and the king a monster, and even if he loses, Nicholas's reign is guaranteed to end with the declarations of war all these countries are going to make after their diplomats who appeared in good faith are executed.

Might as well make the plot thicken. However the Vortexian government will try and make sure no declarations of war come to pass by attempting to explain the situation to the countries. If explanation doesn't work, the Newly formed Irenton Alliance Military will have to deal with them.

Also I was thinking, why not have your split up characters believe they are doing the right thing by helping the sides they were 'captured' by?

I'm not sure how your military is structured,... But to my knowlege a division is several battalions. That might be a bit much lol
