Aboard the Gedwen

This is going to be a bloodbath, The Rear Admiral thinks. I hope they deplete their forces enough to where we can defend our allies.

A transmission arrives from the third task force. "Sir, we have identified the object."

Dask scowls and asks, "Well what is it?"

Upon being told, he drops to his knees and involuntarily sends out psychic waves of shock so strong, even every non-psychic in the generally vicinity of Avaar could feel it.

Behind them was a command ship and 2 shark cruisers and a Battle cruiser with it and people were going to the command ship.

Before Oslo came in Polic put a hand on his shoulder

"Remind me lf home" Polic said giggling and left.

45 minutes later the crew were ready.

"Ready to take off?" The captain said

"Engined, boosters everything ready" said a man wearing a red jumpsuit

"Ready to blast off" the captain said and the engines went to life and hovered and aimed directly to space with Albamechian's cheering and then the escort ships followed

Denaroth felt something. It almost felt as if a wave had passed over him.

He turned to one of the crewmen on the bridge and said "Did you feel that?"

Before he could get a response, he heard one of the combat officers shout.

"Fleet Lord! Incoming projectiles! They're missiles, sir! They've opened fire!"

Fleet Lord Denaroth's eyes widened upon hearing that. He then turned to the bridge crew and shouted "Activate point defenses, power up the shields! NOW!"

Hundreds of thousands of small beams shot forth from the Zagroth fleet, cutting across the field of missiles as quickly as they could. After a moment, the wave of missiles reached the fleet. The wave was largely diminished due to point defense beams, but many still made it through. The remaining missiles slammed into the shields of the Zagroth ships, causing some of the smaller ones to shake from the shock to the shields. However, the fleet was unscathed. Suddenly, however, some of the shields began weakening.

"What's going on!?" Denaroth exclaimed upon discovering this.

"The shields of the ships which were hit by those missiles have weakened, sir. It appears that this was a deliberate effect of the enemy's barrage. They may have been using some kind of electronic warfare, sir." one of the crewmen said to him.

"Arrogant fools!" Denaroth said. He began hailing the rest of the fleet. "All Khalloth ships, target any enemy capital ships and fire your Ug'Naloth cannons! Fleet, bring yourselves up to full combat status!"

The energy building prior to firing an Ug'Naloth cannon was like watching the Khalloth-class build a tiny star at its bow. It was noticeable to an observer that energies began to seemingly pulse all throughout the ship in question. Then, the tiny "star" reached critical mass, ejecting a beam of all of the deadliest energies in a single direction.

The Khalloths numbered seventy after the second wave arrived. They fired their mighty Ug'Naloth cannons within seconds of one-another. The seventy large beams shot across the space between the two sides. To someone on Avaar, it would appear as seventy streaks of bright light across the sky.

The Ug'Naloth cannon was not something to be shrugged off. A single blast could potentially doom a planet.

The speed of the beams was too fast for any significant reaction before they hit. Seventy enemy capital ships were targeted. When the beams reached them, the ships were instantly obliterated. It was truly a magnificent display.

If Denaroth had a human-styled mouth, he would've smiled. Instead, as a Zagroth, he internalized his pleasure at this display of raw Zagroth power. He knew he wouldn't be able to use the Ug'Naloth cannons again for a while, but he feels it was definitely worth it to deal this decisive blow.

"All ships, release escort forces. Prime all weapons. Prepare to target the rest of their fleets." Denaroth said.

When he finally reappeared on a pad in Brain Jar's matter transporter, the Metal Man was nearly in shock. Things had gone precisely as he had hoped they would not.

A wave of anger went through him as he thought about the Zagoroth message. It's hostage-taking, pure and simple. 'Leave if you care about them more than we do.'/i] What a message.

Pausing just long enough to collect his thoughts, he turned to the nearest camera.

"Pete, we've got a level-two interplanetary emergency here. Red alert. Get us into orbit."

"OK," the AI replied, "but you're not going to like it."

"Why?"

"Because the Zagaroth just warped in an occupation force."

The look on the cyborg's face changed.

"They did, did they? Well...is there any residue from any of the warp holes?"

"Of course. The Zagoroth are infiltrators, but, when it comes to technology, they're as sloppy as anybody."

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Yep."

"Do it."

"Fitting wormhole-seeker probe with dimensional collapse warhead...and...firing."

To the untrained observer, it would have looked like a probe. It would have seemed to materialize out of thin air next to...nothing...and then sped off to the nearest wormhole that a Zagoroth had come through. Then it would have seemed as though a hole opened up in space...and stayed open as the "probe" flew through it...ending up at the launching site for the Zagoroth troops. At that point, it played a pre-recorded message.

"Let's hope they aren't so fanatical that they will accept death before they give up. Ship to ship. Get me the Terrans--tight beam."

A line of communication opened up.

"Admiral, I'm not sure what I'm doing is going to help, but I just escalated the situation. I've got a bomb sent back to the Zagoroth Occupation force's point of embarkation and I'm threatening [i]their
territory the same way they're threatening things here. I need to talk with you about how to set the bomb off if they put me out of commission."

As he poke, the saucer continued to rise, cloaked, toward orbit.

Military commanders on Valanoth, the planet where Zagroth forces were being warped from, began to flip out.

"TWENTY SECONDS!?" One of them exclaimed.

"WE NEED TO SHUT IT DOWN!" another shouted.

"THAT'S TOO RISKY! CAN WE WARP IT OUT?"

"UH, I THINK SO! I'LL CALL IT IN WITH PORTAL CONTROL!"

As the bomb drifted toward the planet, Valanoth Military Portal Control opened a second portal directly in the bomb's path. The bomb drifted into it, and the portal closed. They didn't really know where they sent it, it was just a bunch of random coordinates they entered. Fortunately for them, they were able to confirm that it was not sent anywhere in their territory.

Now it was the time to address the fact that these people just tried to blow up an entire three parsecs of Zagroth territory.

Executor L'Koth himself has sent a message to the involved GESO members.

Code: Select all
"It has come to my attention that you have attempted to use a device to annihilate three parsecs of Collective territory. Numerous worlds and systems for a single, measly planet with a low population of a primitive species? I do not see the logic in that. If you are truly the paragons of virtue you seem to believe you are, then you will desist these acts before use of astronomically-scaled Weapons of Mass Destruction becomes widespread. I also implore you to abandon this world that is of no more worth than one of your own, or one of ours, for that matter. Your allies have struck against us first, and I have received word that our fleet has retaliated. I implore you to speak with your allies before this becomes a catastrophe for both sides, as I shudder to think what insane scheme you will attempt next. If you agree to re-negotiate, I will order the fleet to stand down. I await your response, GESO."

Orbit

A portal opened up. Then another. And another. Thousands of portals opened, spewing thousands upon thousands of ships with Federation markings. one of the 50 Dreadnoughts drifted above the Avaar fortress, where the Zargoth were.

The Dreadnought fired a low power beam at the Avaar fortress, causing a nuclear level explosion at the site. The Federation ship began to attack the Zargoth in orbit, and Federation Cruisers drifted through the atmosphere, eliminating any hostile forces with their beams, and thousands of Gunship and fighter escorts. Federation Frigates harassed smaller Zargoth ships, and Larger Federation ships sparred with higher class Zargoth. Thousands of fighters, controlled by AI swarmed over Zargoth capitol ships, distracting their point defenses so missiles could get through. Dreadnoughts acted as artillery ships, firing their main beams at high power on the largest Zargoth capitol ships.

On the surface of the planet, Hold around stopped what they were during and looked up to the night sky and noticed lights shining bright in the sky. They were wondering was going and also wonder if its the old ones are at war with themselves. It they are waring with each other should they be nervous. With Ragnar, he has talking to some tribes that were brought in so he can convince them join him. He notice that everyone was looking up and decided to see what they were looking. As he saw the light show he had great idea to get them on his side. "My friends? Listen to me!" He shouts getting the attention of everyone. "This is a sign by the old ones. That I am the right one to unify us all to a one single nation. No more fighting over territories or petty differences. We must unite to survive." He says as he noticed that everyone started to nod in agreement and decided to add a little more flare. "What say you my friends? Join me and be united fore ever? Or die fighting petty wars?" He asked waiting for an answer. He smiles as they started cheering for him. They they were cheering his name he was thinking on what to do about the other hold that denied him.

The Atahez ships fired as soon as they saw the shields get weaker on Zagroth's ships. Gat flew through space at their smaller ships, hoping to hit their targets while the shields where down. If the Gat struck an unshielded ship the substance would stick on like an annoying glue and attempt to burn through the hull of the craft and damage the systems inside. If the gat struck shields it would instead attempt to harden upon the shield and create a sort of small buffer to interfere with sensors located outside the ship.

Lokghper was about to order another attack when they felt it. The Zagroth ship was charging something big. The Atahez had only brought 7 ships and none of the Overseers where prepared to shield against something like that. " Pull back!" Lokghper screamed in the heads of the others but it was too late. The cannon struck as the Atahez ships where about to warp out and destroyed them. Well, all but one. Lokghper's ship was just outside the range but the shock wave tore his ship in half. The living craft immediately sealed itself off but was too close to the planet's gravity well. Trapped, the half ship became a bright flame as it crashed towards the planet below...

The Albamechian's noticed some fighting near Earth or they thought it was Earth.

They slowed down and what they saw was horrible, they saw a ship crashing down to the planet they thought was Earth and the crew panicked.

Oslo tried to keep his cool, he didn't want to not come back so he sent the other ships a message

Code: Select all

Greetings from us Albamechian's.

We just arrived but what happened here? It appears to be the party is over.

Can we at least land on Earth or check the other ship if somebody needs medical help?

Oslo pressed sent to the other ships as well and made sure it got translated to their language if he can if somebody sent him another message that said they couldn't understand?

The cannons below the decks redied the ship's guns available but bombarding wouldn't help unless they want to destroy a city or village.

The other ships did as well in case they were to fire.

"Open the forcefields" the captain said of the command ship and so the other's did and waited for a response

Near the falling ship, a half dozen other ships uncloak, match its speed, and tried to attach dozens of cables to stop its descent, to prevent more unnecessary damage to Avaar.

OOC: Please don't decide what happens to my ships

IC:

The cables caught on to the half of the ship but not in time. The ship broke apart again, much to the Atahez's horror inside. Many of the bug people inside flew up and burned up in the atmosphere as the ship once again started to break apart. All that was left was large front end. Lokghper, injured but still alive, focused a shield around himself and the others still alive. What was left of the ship would survive the entry but when it crashed, its occupants might not. Streaking across the sky, the ship tumbled and spiraled like a drunk comet before smashing into a very empty field, sliding upon mile and miles of dirt and grass. After a few minutes it was over. The normally pinkish flesh of the ship was now a charred black and smelt like burning skin. Without all of its functions, the ship had been cooked alive and most of its passengers as well.

All expect one. Lokghper stumbled out of massive gash, some of his chitin burned, dented or cut open. He moved unsteadily, hardly believing he was alive. At the last moment, all the lesser Atahez aboard the ship had decided to shield -him- to make sure someone lived to tell the tale of what had happened. But he was lost on a forgien planet, with underdeveloped people and space battle raging above. That wasn't even including his injuries. Lokghper was stranded and he doubted anyone would be able to find him. Having no idea what to do and unsure whether or not the natives where friendly, he started to dig. He would have to hide for now....

The Albamechian's sighed a breath of relief seeing that they wont be getting shot today and surrounded by a bigger enemy.

But Senator Oslo heard the word Not late for the party and wanted to visit what he thought Earth so he sent another message.

Sounds good.

Mind if we go and put a search party down there to see if there are any survivors?

Then Oslo went to the bombing deck where people wearing red jumpsuits were loading bombs in some kind of shell and then in the back appears to be the same shells with something alive inside.

"Prepare the mind control bugs" Oslo said and the crew started replacing the shells with the Mind Control ones preparing to fire them from orbit and to the planet

Some times later, The Kendorian ship Horizon Ranger manage to go back into Terra sustem and into Earth. When the ship landed in Earth's biggest spaceport, Commander Harry Koziro were greeted by President Billy Ned of The Federation of Kendor. The interviewer that were waiting in the spaceport then interviewed Commander Koziro about Commander Koziro's exploration of Avaar. Commander Koziro then said "It's going well, a ship contact us but they are friendly and a member of GESO. Also on the first contact, it's peaceful and while the locals don't want to be uplifted, they accepted our offer of getting their culture studied."

President Billy then said "It's a good thing that they are willing to have their culture studied, this would be useful because we can learn on how the locals lived and collect database on them." Then the Military Minister, Debby Wilson came back with a horrifying news she got from a GESO member on the situation on Avaar system "We got a horrifying report, President Billy. It appears a war was raging on Avaar system and one of the combatants have a Weapon of Mass Destruction." President Billy then decided to call the most feared General in Kendor, General Jack Gezin. President Billy then said to General Gezin "General Gezin, there's a war that was raging on Avaar system. I wanted you to send your fleet of 1200 fighters, 600 cruisers, 100 capital ships, 400 battleships, and 420 dreadnaughts."

"Prepare the mind control bugs" Oslo said and the crew started replacing the shells with the Mind Control ones preparing to fire them from orbit and to the planet

The Atahez wrote:The Atahez ships fired as soon as they saw the shields get weaker on Zagroth's ships.

(OOC: None of the ships' shields were taken down. They were only weakened.)

Aboard the Khalloth-class ship Azathoth, Fleet Lord Denaroth's flagship

Fleet Lord Denaroth was pleased at the progress his fleet was making. He was heavily outnumbered, but he possessed far superior firepower to any of the enemy forces. While there was the arrival of fifty ships that were twice the size of a Khalloth, he remained confident with the fact that the Khalloths outnumbered the ships in question, and that another Ug'Naloth attack, when available, would wipe them out.

Denaroth reveled in the sight of some of the enemy's most powerful ships burning up in orbit, slowly drifting lower and lower. The beauty of annihilation was his favorite kind of beauty.

The enemy ships continued to fire on Denaroth's fleet. "Looks like they haven't surrendered yet." he murmured to himself. Activating a communication device to hail the rest of the fleet, he spoke into it, saying: "All ships, hear me. The enemy has been devastated. Many of their most powerful war machines are broken, drifting, burning in low orbit. We have shown them merely one thing that we are capable of. The cleansing flame of Ug'Naloth has taken away their strong arm. Although a new arm has taken its place, we will once again remove it. The enemy is reeling, and it is now that we perform our charge. All ships, spread out and open fire with all available weapons."

The ships spread out into an incomplete hemisphere, with the enemy fleets facing the inside of the formation. The ships achieved this formation with agility that was totally alien. They would be able to fire upon the enemy from all directions, minus the rear.

When the formation was complete with uncanny speed, the Fleet Lord sent out his fire order.

The barrage was like something out of one's wildest dreams. Hundreds of thousands of burning shots from Tachyon Artillery slammed into their targets before they were even fired. Particle Lance shots dealt every kind of damage to the enemy- Energy, radiation, and kinetic. If a ship had a weakness, it was exploited. On top of that, the field of fire for the Zagroth point defenses was now better than ever. Both interceptors and point defenses engaged enemy fighters, drones, and weapons fire.

In the unlikely scenario in which this barrage wasn't enough, the Azathoth was packing one more weapon...

Federation ships continued to fire on the Zargoth, destroying a Khalloth. the sheer numbers of small craft and frigates overwhelmed some smaller ship classes. The Federation dreadnoughts began to pound Khalloth type ships, and several went crashing into the planet below. One Federation Dreadnought fell after being rammed, trailing debris and whatever else was not bolted down, as it tumbled through the atmosphere. The Zargoth were outnumbered and outgunned by the Federation ships, now numbering over 100 Thousand.

OOC: Well, Zag, you godmodded my probe, so I'm going to return the favor. Things were never as they appeared. It wasn't really a bomb! Mwa-ha-ha!

Others: the cyborg isn't going to distinguish between the warring parties. He knows that it takes two to tango and he wants to stop the dance.

IC:

When they opened the portal in front of the probe, the Zagoroth set off an anti-tampering mechanism contained within it, and it detonated. They did not notice.

This is because the Metal Man had taken huge liberties in his message. He had told his adversaries that the probe would "obliterate" them. He was using a very special definition of the word.

What the probe actually did was to transfer the entire solar system--everything within three parsecs--into a bubble universe that the cyborg had created a few months prior. From their point of view, little had changed. The stars had all gone out, but things were relatively normal. From the point of view of their compatriots, however, they had ceased to exist. A trained scientist might have noted that this was a violation of the law of conservation of energy, but even if this happened it would have taken them months to find the interstellar strings that led to the new universe and follow them. The probe was meant as a remedy to this. It was to act as a beacon and allow the Metal Man to lock his instruments on the Zagoroth in the bubble universe and bring them back. They had ported it away, however, leaving no such item. Or had they. Again, it would take a specially trained eye to see it, but there was a second probe sent in after the first, cloaked. Though it was invisible to normal scanners, it was a trans-dimensional beacon. Thus, unless they decided to tamper with it, the Zagaroth could still go home. They, of course, did not know this--and the Metal Man was going to be sure not to tell them.

"Dad," said Pete.

"Yes?"

"Abracadabra." This was a code word meaning that the probe had detonated. They did not know it, but there was a simple phrase that could be used to cause the machinery to reverse its affects.

"So they did it," the Metal Man replied. "Well, let's see what I can get out of this. Broadcast."

"Coming up."

Code: Select all
All combatting parties:  It would seem that the Zagaroth are missing a planet.  Stand down or it won't be the only one.

Meanwhile, back in the bubble universe, the secondary probe broadcast a message of its own, which only those in the bubble universe could hear:

Code: Select all
You have detonated the warhead sent into your vicinity.  You are now in another universe.  Fortunately, our intentions were peaceful from the beginning.  Stay where you are and you will shortly be transported back to the universe of your origin.

"Well," commented the Metal Man, "I wonder what's going to happen next."

The Zagoroth stand-down came through.

"One down, one to go," said the cyborg. "Let's hope our erstwhile allies will take this as seriously as the Zagoroth did."

The Atahez wrote:OOC: Please don't decide what happens to my ships

Ship wreckage

A large group of riders on horseback arrived at the scene. The strangers were and odd group. Their bodies were covered in white and brown clay that stick to them like glue. They wore skinned animal masks and a red painted on their shoulders. These are the outcasts. They are people who were banished from the clans for dishonoring their holds or the crimes they have committed. Now they are nothing but a band of raiders who pillage weaker holds and kidnap children to be raised by them. They came to this location as they saw something crashed into their territory. They got off their horses walked towards the wreckage with their weapons out. They noticed whats left of the unknown thing and wonder what it was. They then start to explore the ruin ship to see anything worth taking. After looking through the rubble they found nothing of value, just dead creatures they never seen before. They decide to leave not before cutting up the strange creatures for their meat and left.

Meanwhile, General Gezin and his fleet taked off from Earth. Then all the ship use it's hyper drive, which leave a blue mist as the portal closed. The hyper drive taked the ship to the Oort Cloud, which contained many mining station and some fleet base, guest station, and defense station to defend Solar System during an invasion. The fleet then landed at one of the fleet base, called Oort Military Base to supply the army

Later, the fleet taked off again from the Fleet Base, and after gaining enough speed, the fleet manage to use it's hyper drive to go past the Oort Cloud. After exiting from the Hyperspace, the fleet, which is now located outside of the Solar System decided to head into Avaar System. The fleet first decided to go into the nearest system from Avaar System inhabited by Kendor, Thenos System which were once rife with crime but the recent government program manage to get rid of the piracy and crime there and make situation better. When the fleet landed at the Capital world of Thenos System, Thenos, General Gezin were immediately greeted by a surprised Scout, Commander Yenny Bearst.

Commander Yenny then greeted General Gezin politely before taking General Gezin into a Scout base. There, Commander Yenny sended a report about the incident in Avaar System. She revealed to General Gezin about another species trying to make contact with the Avaar, but were attacked by a race called the Zagroths, which looked like the Chtulhu from Lovecraftian books. She also telled General Gezin about the Zagroths deadly weapon to the Avaar System being apparently put in an alternate universe called the bubble universe to contain the Zagroths

OOC: Nobody knows the Zagaroth planet has been moved to another universe. They were all led to believe that it was destroyed. They would have to figure out that it was moved, not destroyed, for themselves--OR they could just take things on face value and believe that the planet (whole solar system, actually) was destroyed.

The Metal Man is BLUFFING--but no one knows that (yet).
