Yotta, I may not be military staff, but you need to fix your railgun application. The maximum effective range for even theoretical railguns is set at 370 kilometers, with an impact energy of 64 MJ. Currently IRL we don't have capacitors or materials to build such a weapon, and though we're waiving that in the Canon, 2000+ km range railguns are out of the question.

2016 railguns are 160km range weapons with a 10 kg, 460mm round fired at Mach 7. Use that as a template. Another reference would be the Eldenian railguns I am currently drafting, which are 300km range, 460mm weapons.

You also have to bear in mind that the U.S.'s current RnD budget is less than 3% of the U.S.'s total defence budget (source). Yottabota's is 300,937,978,000 and it hasn't dropped down from that since 2019. It's also, shocker, not 2016 and we've had larger jumps in technology than this. What I'm trying to say is real world references are kind of hard to use as a baseline when we're 8 years into the future and we don't know how technology changes because it isn't a static diagonal line it's a dynamic one that jumps around all the time. But I'm not saying you're completely wrong, the distances I put in were just place holders for when I get the math done (which I currently am because ballistic physics and physics in general are my two favorite subjects) and those are just rough estimates.

Also while I do like hyperbole, 2,800 kilometers is not half way around the world, it's barely halfway across the US.
