1994 - 1996
For over two decades, the people of Neigeland have suffered under a regime which serves none but itself. In 1971, a coup d'etat by General Warren Graversen, the commander of the Neigelandic Armed Forces, removed the government of Prime Minister Samuel Bradley from power, after it refused to engage the Neigelandic people in its debates. As allowed under the original Constitution of Neigeland, the Armed Forces enacted Emergency Law and were granted the right to rule. With his new found powers, General Graversen passed the Emergency Law Act 1972, which effectively replaced the old Constitution of Neigeland as the country's fundamental law, suspending almost all constitutional practices and protections, and removed the Neigelandic Monarch, a hangover from colonialism, Queen Elizabeth II, from power. The Council of State, the country's legislature, was created in 1974 to replace the suspended Parliament of Neigeland, although only one party, the National Revolutionary Party, supported by Graversen, has ever gained representation.
With their near total control over Neigeland, the party and military government began enacting the policies of Neigelandic Socialism, a belief system inspired by many of the tenets of National Socialism. Their aim, to further the Neigelandic 'race', namely, White, Western Europeans, and their descendants, by discriminating against and persecuting the minorities that live in Neigeland. There, it is thought, lies the real reason for the coup d'etat - in the years prior the government had loosened immigration restrictions to allow more people of different backgrounds emigrate to the country.
Atrocities, such as the Massacres of Fraser in 1985 and 1989, where it is thought as many as 10,100 Chinese, Japanese, and Polynesian Neigelanders were slaughtered, have since become too regular an occurrence. In Graversen Square, which sits at the center of the City of Fraser, the Hanging of the 'Known Thirteen', in August of 1994, sparked the beginnings of a revolution. These thirteen individuals, the leaders of the underground opposition in Neigeland (the Revolutionary People's Army of Neigeland), spoke words of war, galvanizing the onlookers to commit the Fraser Riots. It is thought as many as 1,910 individuals were arrested in the ensuing fight. The Day of Civil Disobedience, on September 1st, forced the Government's hand. In order to quell fears of a rebellion, the Armed Forces bombed and destroyed an entire town, Idaho Falls, leading to the death of, it is thought, up to 28,100 people.
This only furthered the rebel cause. The revolution is in full swing, and brother is fighting brother to decide the future of Neigeland. Where do you stand?

Rules of the RP
- Please do not participate in this RP unless you have already TG'd Neigeland, and he has said it is okay for you to participate. This RP is closed.
- Neigeland, as, weirdly, the neutral party, will moderate the thread. Anything he says goes, i'm afraid.
- This RP follows a loose timeline. This means that the ending is fixed, and cannot be deviated from. The way in which the RP can reach that point, however, is completely open, and I am not telling you the end to make sure that it feels like a real, open war RP until the very end.
- Because of this, if the ending looks like it will be impossible, Neigeland may send a TG around to all of the participants telling them to do/not do something. Please do this. Hopefully this will be a rare occurrence.
- Declare all of the weapons your country is bringing on its arrival in Neigeland. This equipment, plus any other equipment you may RP the arrival of, will be all that you are allowed to use in the RP.
- Keep the military equipment realistic and to that which existed in 1995 please. No future tech.
- NO NUKES, PLEASE!!!
- RP the movement of all of your military equipment around Neigeland. Teleportation isn't real, sadly.
- When moving troops, please refer to the maps that I will be posting every day, to ensure that you are moving through or above allied territory. If you are going to be moving through enemy territory, end your post in a place where it is possible for your troops to be attacked by the enemy. They do not have to be, but it would be unrealistic for you to send troops through a city controlled by the enemy and come out perfectly fine.
- When engaging, use the 70% rule. That is, ensure that you do not completely eliminate the troops of the enemy unless you have TG'd them, and they have explicitly said you can do so. 70% is a high enough number that your troops can pass them, if you want to, so that the RP can still progress, just not unrealistically.
- Soldiers die. There is no such thing as "body protecting shield force field armor" or anything like that, so you should be prepared to lose some of your soldiers.
- Please make your posts good. No one line posts along the line of "Blankland's troops entered Boise, and killed 70% of the rebels." I'll cry if you do.
- Lastly, Have fun and enjoy the RP!
