In the year 1970, the Venera 7 probe landed on Venus, and atmospheric readings revealed the atmosphere to be similar to Earth, with an atmosphere of 77% Nitrogen, 22% Oxygen, and 1% other gases. Mars' atmosphere, which was found to be almost as strong as Earth's, was similar, with 79% Nitrogen and 20% Oxygen (1% other gases).

As more pictures were taken and more probes landed, Mars and Venus were discovered not only to possess magnetic fields, but to have large ocean ecosystems and some plant life, though most lifeforms on both planets are microscopic and no sapient creatures were discovered on either planet.

Throughout the twenty-first century and beyond, Earthly powers aimed to conquer these new worlds, while still maintaining a grip on their Earthly lands. Beyond these planets lie Mercury and the gas giants, along with their moons, who's previously untapped resources are highly coveted by various factions.

Now, it's the year 2500, the dawn of the newest century, almost nothing is predecided, so what happened in that time will be decided by you. Every 4 pages of IC is one year.
It takes around 30 days for most spacecraft to reach Venus, and 50 to reach mars.

Realism
Just because the RP is set in space doesn't mean there's going to be intersolar travel or anything like that. The date at which you can alter history is 1946.
Country size
You don't own any of the main three planets, end of story. Similarly, you don't own any entire continent. Martian/Venusian countries may be somewhat larger than Earth ones given that they would face little opposition in expansion, but they still can't be overly gargantuan.

History: After a major influx of Japanese immigrants from a momentarily crumbling Japan, as well as the collapse of several larger economies, the Republic of Singapore suddenly had the opportunity to seize the world stage. Singapore's economy exploded, leading the few remaining Asian powers in growth. Concerned by the massive influence the little nation held, all the surrounding nations formed a coalition to contain the new power in southeast Asia. These nation's economies were seriously broken, however, and the technologically superior Singapore Defense Forces did eventually beat back the assaults of poorly trained and equipped troops of the attackers. It was not without cost, however. The nation had taken damage, and was forced to rebuild. Singapore reforged itself in the rubble as a new nation, one hellbent on earning the respect it so richly deserves. Not long after the economy was back on it's feet, large amounts of funding was poured into the space program. Soyuz and Proton rocket designs were copied and built in large numbers. Within a few years, New Singapore had built a fairly expansive space station. This did not satiate the Singaporean's thirst for upward expansion. They soon set their eyes on other planets. Jupiter was chosen as the object of colonization. The moons and debris that made up of Jupiter's colonizable space were small and insignificant. But Singapore was no stranger to building upon limited space. After a few decades, colonies had been set up on every major moon in the Jupiter system. By 2500, the once unremarkable city-state was now finally an empire that deserved the respect it earned.

History: Now where do we begin. Well, our story starts with our Dear Leader, Joseph Stalin. Joseph Stalin crushed the Nazi Hordes into the ground with waves of Bravery, his statues continue to adorn our wall. After smashing the evil Hordes Stalin turned to building. He constructed construction networks and discovered the climate on Venus. Our might Union of Republics sent spaceships to Venus and explored it. The wars of space were great in those days. Wars of knowledge. Both sides used espionage and occasionally violence. The USSR captured large parts of Venus. The leader of the KGB; Vladimir Putin had the leader of his time “disappeared”. President Putin collectivized the economy truly, he created vast industrial complexes and created thousands of new planning boards and economic Bureaus. He wrote a book called the Fifth wave of Socialism, regarding the idea that local Soviets would be the planning boards and the people will be the Soviets. All a great idea, but it didn't work. Mister Putin was beaten to death during a civil war he started. Russia briefly fell into anarchy,the war resulted in nuclear strikes and the fall of our colonies on other planets. But all through this, Putin’s system remained stable, his successor raised a vast army and wiped out his opponents. This successor was Joseph Karlov. Lord Karlov as we called him whipped the Republics to work, the entire nation was redistricted, the farms and factories were truly put to work, the army was reorganized, and the imperialists were stopped. Dear leader Karlov reforged the Soviet system. Karlov then resigned. In this he finally accomplished the Soviet dream, 120 years after the revolution, Russia finally felt democracy. The nation was content for 80 years.The Soviet Union looked outside, they stared at the colonies of the other great nations. Russia had none. Our first elected leader; Aliyev, sent out a colonial fleet of 75 ships towards the planet of Venus. They set up a new SFSR with 3 SSRs within it. The Soviet State in Space took 15 years to build. It took 5 presidents to do it and a few trillion rubles. The next president ordered anther expedition to mars, smaller this time, but still great. Once the Soviet Union established a martian colony it reached another time of peace. Ah, those times. In the year 2260, the Soviet Union remained strong. Now the Solar System has entered the Age of Communism, Freedom for Eternity, Equality for All, Justice for All, United We Stand Strong, LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION.

Rhea: Same as above, with smaller but noticeable craters and no death star here. Water here, a lot of water perhaps?

Other Moons of Saturn: Many huge, medium, and small settlements dotted on their surfaces, and mining, military, and research facilities also dot them moons.

Rings of Saturn: Mining towns and cities are located in this area.

Great Red Spot on Jupiter: We have a research and development colony there, as well as a military base. Looks like Cloud City.

History: Settlement by English and Germans happened on the Saturnian moons, and then after, a Constitutional Monarchy was established. The bases on the Great Red Spot were created at this time. Anyway, two presidents have been on the seat of power: The current one and President Patrick Lombard, now the head of state.

History: Following the defeat of Germany in 1945 - work was immediately under way by the USSR and western power occupied populations of Europe. With anger for their lack of nationality - there uproar throughout the entirety of occupied Europe - riots against the occupational personnel from America and USSR. By 1969, all of Central Europe was incredibly rife with the want to be free from both sides - the Central Union being formed, an in 1991 - the Central Union, previously a 'terrorist militia', turned into a powerful state after freeing Central Europe from both sides after extensive attacks on embassies, military bases, common public riots and demonstrations, and the eventual killing of a Russian First Secretary. The country is named Monikaland, after Monika Reinhart who led the Central Union through it's years of struggle. It had developed over time - trying to rebuild friendly relations with it's neighbours.
